Die bisher angewendeten Verfahren zur Herstellung von Perlen aus Gelatine waren sehr unzweckmäfsig; das bekannteste ist dasjenige, bei welchem die Röhren, aus welchen die Perlen später geschnitten werden, dadurch hergestellt werden, dafs man harte, z. B. Glas, oder zweckentsprechende, dehnbare Stäbe aus Celluloid, Gummi oder dergl. von einem den zu erzeugenden Perlen entsprechendem Profilquerschnitt in die flüssige Gelatinemasse eintaucht. Durch Tauchen solcher Stäbe erhalten dieselben nach dem Herausnehmen einen Ueberzug der Masse.
