Die auf beiliegender Zeichnung dargestellte Schraubzwinge besteht aus dem Theil a, welcher der Zwinge die Spannlänge giebt und auf dem sich der Spannschenkel b sammt Hebel bequem verschieben läfst, und aus der stählernen Flügelschraube c. Die Anwendung der Zwinge geschieht wie folgt. Nachdem der zusammenzudrückende Gegenstand gegen den kurzen Schenkel des Theiles α gelegt ist, wird der Spannschenkel b mit zurückgezogener Schraube in der punktirt angedeuteten Weise angesetzt; das Schlitzloch in demselben ist zu diesem Zweck entsprechend erweitert. Beim Bewegen der Schraube c wird die Spitze derselben zunächst in die in den langen Schenkel des Theiles a eingefräste Nuth, welche ein Ausgleiten verhüten soll, eingreifen und durch fortgesetztes Schrauben bewirken, dafs sich der ganze Schenkel um den Punkt d dreht und auf diese Weise eine Pressung bewirkt.
