Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung ist ein Kerzenschoner der aus der Patentschrift 17741 bekannten Art. Derselbe ist in beiliegender Zeichnung dargestellt. Ohne Anwendung des Schoners flackern die Kerzen sehr, geben einen unregelmäfsigen Rand und laufen an den Seiten ab. Aufserdem rufsen die Flammen sehr leicht. Diesem wird durch den im Folgenden beschriebenen Kerzenschoner abgeholfen, welcher aus einer Metallhülse α mit einem Plättchen c besteht, an welchem ein Korkstück b befestigt ist, so dafs das Plättchen auf der flüssigen Masse der Kerze d schwimmt. Erzielt wird durch einen solchen Schoner erstens ein sparsameres Brennen, zweitens ein ruhigeres und regelmäfsigeres Brennen, so dafs keine Masse an den Kerzen herunterträufelt. Die Hülse a kann auch beweglich in der Scheibe c sein, wobei noch der Vortheil erreicht wird, dafs die Gröfse der Flamme bezw. das Verbrauchsquantum der Flamme regulirt werden kann. Wird die Hülse nämlich eingeschoben, wie Fig. 5 zeigt, so tritt der untere Theil der Hülse, ' welcher heifs ist, mit der Brennmasse in Berührung und weicht dieselbe auf. Schiebt man die Hülse in die Höhe, wie Fig. 6 zeigt, so ist die Erwärmung des Brennmaterials nicht so grofs, es wird also weniger Material flüssig werden und daher auch weniger von der Flamme aufgesaugt.Fig. Ι a light without the schooner,
