Die bei Eisenbahnen oder sonstigen Anstalten vorhandenen ßilletschalter bestehen in der Regel aus einem in der Wand sitzenden Zahlbrett und einem darüber befindlichen Fenster mit Oeffnungsflügel, durch welchen die Billets verkaufende Person mit dem Publikum in Verkehr steht. Diese Einrichtung hat den Nachtheil, dafs die Billets verkaufende Person dem durch das offene Fenster gehenden Zugwinde ausgesetzt ist und dafs bei stofsweise auftretendem Zugwinde Papierscheine oder dergl. vom Zahlbrett davonfliegen. Zur Beseitigung dieses Uebelstandes ist vielfach der Versuch gemacht, das Oeffnen des Fensterflügels dadurch unnöthig zu machen, dafs in dem Fenster in Mundhöhe eine zwischen Drahtgeflecht liegende schallübertragende dünne Haut als Membran angebracht ist und die wechselseitige Austauschung der Billets und des Geldes mittelst einer im Zahlbrett liegenden mechanischen Vorrichtung bewirkt wird. Wenn nun auch auf diese Art der Uebelstand bezüglich des für den Beamten schädlichen Zugwindes beseitigt ist, so fehlt es .noch an einer zuverlässigen mechanischen Einrichtung, mittelst welcher die zugfreie Uebermittelung der Billets und dergl. einerseits und die Inempfangnahme des Geldes andererseits bewirkt werden kann.
