Im Gegensatz zu den bekannten Wicklern sind also beim Wickler gemäß der Erfindung an dem sich in entspanntem Zustand zu einer Spirale aufrollenden federnden Element Haltevorrichtungen für das einzulegende Haar vorgesehen, die sich völlig aufklappen lassen. Dadurch wird seine Anbringung äußerst einfach: Der Lockenwickler wird in gestreckte Lage gebracht und gegebenenfalls auseinandergeklappt, dann wird einfach die Haarsträhne auf ihn aufgelegt, hierauf das Haltematerial über die Strähne geschlagen bzw. um diese herumgeklappt und der Wickler losgelassen.
