Der Deckel und der Boden der Verpackung sind dadurch in der Achsenrichtung der Rohrstücke sehr nachgiebig und können sich somit der Länge der zu verpackenden Eier anpassen. Da außerdem die Rohrstücke nicht mehr durch das Plattenelement versteift werden, welches bei den bekannten Verpackungen das äußere Ende der Rohrstücke abschließt, sind die Rohrstücke auch in größerem Maße als bei der bekannten Anordnung in radialer Richtung nachgiebig, so daß sie sich, innerhalb gewisser Grenzen, dem Durchmesser der Eier anpassen können. Durch diese Anpassungsfähigkeit bietet die Verpackung den Eiern einen sehr wirksamen Schutz, und sie hat weiter den Vorteil gegenüber der bekannten Ausführung, daß die Eier sichtbar sind und durch die Öffnungen einzeln durchleuchtet werden können.
