Die ausgelaugten Schnitzel, welche in der Schnitzelpresse von dem Wasser befreit werden sollen, verlassen die Schnitzelpresse mit einem noch verhältnißmäßig hohen Wassergehalt. Um den Schnitzeln kurz vor dem Verlassen der Presse noch einen Theil ihres Wassers zu entziehen und um die Austrittsöffnung für die Schnitzel der jeweilig vorhandenen Schnitzelmenge entsprechend kleiner oder größer gestalten zu können, hat man den Austrittskonus verstellbar eingerichtet (s. die Patentschrift Nr. 68425). Auch sind zu dem ersteren Zweck am unteren Ende der Presse perforirte Bleche angeordnet worden (s. die Patentschrift Nr. 70725). Eine noch günstigere Wirkung der Schnitzelpresse wird, jedoch erzielt, wenn der Austrittskonus verstellbar und perforirt gestaltet wird. Diese beabsichtigte Wirkung wird dadurch erzielt, daß ein Konus m (Fig. 1) angeordnet wird, der unten die Preßspindel S umgiebt und auf zwei Stellschrauben b b ruht. Mittelst dieser Schrauben kann der Konus m gehoben und somit die Austrittsöffnung für die Schnitzel auf J1 eingezogen werden (Fig. 2), oder es kann der Konus m heruntergelassen werden und somit die Austrittsöffnung für die Schnitzel auf den zwischen der Spindel S und dem Mantel η befindlichen Raum f vergrößert werden. Die Schnitzel werden im ersteren Fall gezwungen, den kleinen Raum/X (Fig. 2) zu passiren. Bei dieser Gelegenheit werden dieselben nochmals stark gepreßt, so daß sie also noch viel Wasser abgeben können. Im letzteren Falle dagegen, wo die Schnitzel die Austrittsöffnungy zu passiren haben, verlassen sie die Presse, ohne eine nochmalige Pressung durch den Konus m erlitten zu haben.The leached pulp, which is to be freed from the water in the pulp press, leave the pulp press with a relatively high water content.
