Gegenüber einer Anordnung senkrecht zur Längsrichtung des Statikmischers, entsprechend dem Stand der Technik, erhält die Nebenströmung hierdurch einen Geschwindigkeitsanteil in Längsrichtung des Statikmischers, und wird – verstärkt durch den Venturi-Effekt – von der anderen Hauptströmung mitgerissen. Gegenüber dem Stand der Technik wird also bewusst angestrebt, dass es zwei Haupt- und zwei Nebenströmungen gibt. Während sich beim Stand der Technik statt der theoretisch vier möglichen Strömungen tatsächlich lediglich zwei Hauptströmungen einstellen, die sich kaum noch untereinander vermischen, wird durch die erfinderische Lösung erreicht, dass es auf jeden Fall zu einem Austausch zwischen den beiden Hauptströmungen und damit zu einer Vermischung kommt.
