A teat according to the invention comprises a shield, which is adjoined on one side by a mouthpiece and on an opposite side by a substantially cylindrical receiving section. In the context of the present invention, a “bottleneck” should generally be understood to mean a section of a vessel, in particular a bottle, for storing beverages, which comprises a drinking opening.

The bottleneck is preferably the bottleneck of a beverage bottle. The teat is intended to enable infants and small children in particular to drink from standard beverage bottles, for example the standard fountain bottle that is common in Germany, and from standard PET bottles with a PCO-28 cap.

In the context of the present invention, a stretchable material is understood to mean any material that has a similar stretchability, i.e. a similar modulus of elasticity, to rubber. Mouthpieces of known pacifiers are often made of rubber. This material is well known to the person skilled in the art, together with its stretching properties.

It can be considered to use a stretchable material with a modulus of elasticity of at most 0.5 GPa, preferably at most 0.1 GPa and particularly preferably at most 0.05 GPa.

The advantage of an expandable receiving section is that the receiving section closes and seals the neck of a bottle well after the teat has been placed on the one hand and can be placed on bottlenecks of different shape, shape and size on the other hand.

With regard to the receiving section, “essentially cylindrical” also includes, for example, a shape of the receiving section that deviates from an oval.

The bead thus forms a sealing constriction after a bottle neck has been introduced into the receiving section. The bead can have an extent of 360° in the circumferential direction, ie cover the full circumference of the receiving section. The advantage of the at least one bead described above lies in particular in the improved sealing effect. This applies both to bottlenecks with and without a thread, because a bead always has a constricting effect.

A thread can be provided in the receiving section. The thread can be designed to be continuous or interrupted, as already described above with regard to the beads ben. Because the receiving portion is stretchable, the threads located inside it are also stretchable. An expandable thread combines the advantage of a threaded closure, namely the good seal, with the flexibility that an expandable material offers with regard to different bottle neck diameters and shapes.

The advantage of the thread described above in the interior of the receiving section lies in particular in the improved sealing effect and in the fact that the teat can be fixed particularly securely on the bottleneck. An infant cannot easily pull it off with his hands.

A recess can be arranged in the receiving section. Several recesses can also be provided. These can be designed as a notch. The at least one recess is preferably arranged on an end of the receiving section facing away from the shield. The at least one recess locally increases the extensibility of the receiving section orthogonally to a longitudinal axis of the teat and makes it easier to pull it onto a bottleneck.

The advantage of the recess described above lies in particular in the fact that the receiving section can spread radially at the end, i.e. orthogonally to the longitudinal direction, which makes it easier to place it on the bottleneck. The section of the receiving section lying between the end with the recesses and the shield then ensures a good seal after the teat has been completely pulled onto the bottleneck.

Therefore, the at least one recess is primarily only provided at the end of the receiving section that is opposite the shield. The at least one recess does not run through the receiving section in the longitudinal direction completely, but only partially.

The receiving section can be stretchable primarily or exclusively in the longitudinal direction. Alternatively, the receiving section can be stretchable predominantly or exclusively orthogonally to the longitudinal direction. Selective extensibility in the longitudinal direction, i.e. in the direction of the longitudinal axis, or orthogonal thereto, can be achieved by selection of the material thickness and/or by reinforcing ribs, use of a material which is only extensible in one direction.
