Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a protector. This protector reduces the noise and smell of flatulence. Flatulence (from Latin flatus [wind], [bloating]) refers to the increased production of gases (e.g., methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and other fermentation or digestion gases) in the stomach and/or intestines, which subsequently leads to the rectal release (flatus) of intestinal gases.

State of the art

Protectors with filter elements ( DE 298 27 557 U1 ), having an air inlet and outlet, wherein the filter element placed on the air inlet has a nipple with a bead firmly connected thereto, which is inserted with its free end into the anus, comprising a housing with a spherical segment.

The disadvantage of the known protectors is that they have a structurally complex design, are uncomfortable to wear and involve complex fastening arrangements using adhesive strips on the underwear etc.

The US 2 742 042 A discloses an article of manufacture in the form of an anal napkin comprising an absorbent pad of substantially uniform thickness suitable for insertion into the human anal region; the pad having a side surface contour substantially corresponding in size and shape to the contact area of the opposing skin surfaces forming the human anal region.

The FR 2 442 048 A1 discloses a pad in the form of a molded sheath of long-fiber surgical cotton, sized to fit over the anal opening and be worn comfortably without being visible from the outside. The interior of this pad contains a pocket made of gauze lining. This pocket contains a suitable mixture of deodorant and odorants that serve to absorb and mask escaping gases. At the same time, any noise that occurs is absorbed and muffled by the thick layers of surgical cotton that form the outer sheath.

The DE 298 17 557 U1 discloses a flatulence damper which has a filter element adapted to the shape of a buttock cleft and insertable into such a cleft, with an air inlet and an air outlet, and is firmly connected to the filter element, with a nipple having a bead on its free end which can be inserted into the anus.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a protector which has a simple structural design, is easy to handle and provides protection against the consequences of flatulence.

Disclosure of the invention

A protector is proposed which is designed for attachment in the gluteal cleft at the anal opening in an elongated shape with a nearly round or flat-oval diameter or in a flat wing shape.

During the digestive process, which can take up to 42 hours, intestinal gas is produced. However, the majority diffuses into the bloodstream and is excreted through the lungs. Actual flatulence is an excess of gas of approximately 0.5 to 1.5 liters per day that is not expelled through this route. Causes can be the composition of the diet or digestive disorders.

The components of flatulence are nitrogen, hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, and sulfur compounds. The majority of the intestinal gas (flatus) produced during digestion is produced by bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Bacteroides vulgatus, or Methanobrevibacter smithii. These produce hydrogen, methane, and sulfur compounds, which are the reason for the highly flammable flatus. Carbon dioxide is produced when food reacts with hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Sulfur compounds such as methanethiol, hydrogen sulfide, and dimethyl sulfide are the primary odor-causing components. The sounds often produced when the gases escape are caused by the vibration of the anal opening. The sound varies depending on the tension of the anal sphincter, the speed at which the gas is expelled, and the volume of the gas expelled.

The protector according to the invention is made, for example, from a thicker cotton fabric, cellulose, soft synthetic fibers, or the like, and prevents vibrations caused by air leakage from being transmitted audibly at the anal opening. The material from which the protector is made can be particularly soft and also breathable. It thus adapts to the natural body shape without causing any unpleasant sensation for the wearer and has a stable fit in the slit of the anus between the buttocks. For this purpose, the protector has a curvature or apex in the direction of the Anal opening to ensure a stable fit and prevent vibrations.

The protector is designed in a size that ensures a secure fit in the anal fold, is not perceived as uncomfortable, and requires no additional fastening devices. The protector can be sized to suit the size of the person or wearer. It is designed for both sexes. The length of the protector is approximately 6 to 12 cm, and the height is approximately 3 to 5 cm.

The cotton fabric, the cellulose fabric or the soft synthetic fibers can be provided with a compatible fragrance that reduces the perception of odors in the environment.

The protector can have a design that adheres well to the wearer's skin. The surface of the protector can be structured for this purpose. For this purpose, the surface can, for example, have a honeycomb or nub structure that enables adhesion to the wearer's skin and prevents the protector from slipping. The surface of the protector can also be coated with additives that exert a gentle adhesive function on the skin after the protector has been placed in the gluteal cleft at the anal opening and reliably prevent slipping. The adhesive function can be triggered, for example, by selecting coating materials that optimally develop their adhesive function at body temperature.

The wing shape can be symmetrical or asymmetrical and can be thinner at the upper and lower ends ("top" means toward the head of the standing wearer, "bottom" means toward the feet of the standing wearer). Furthermore, the curvature can have different shapes, with the outer curvature being flatter and the inner curvature more convex ("outer" means distally away from the anal opening, "inner" means proximally towards the anal opening).

In an alternative embodiment, the protector can have an elongated, round shape, which can be varied in thickness. The round shape is designed to be soft enough to adapt to the buttocks or the slit of the anus, either when inserted between the buttocks at the anal opening or beforehand by "squeezing" it into place with the fingers.

Furthermore, the protector can be designed in a flat, oval shape. These shapes are either already curved or can be easily molded into a curve that conforms to the body shape by using a soft and flexible material.

The protector can also be designed like a "pouch" and contain scented ingredients, soft filling material, or similar. For this purpose, the protector is slightly thinner on its inner side, which lies directly against the anus, and slightly thicker on its outer side, toward the underwear, to support a secure fit after insertion. The filling material can also be made of odor-absorbing materials, such as activated carbon or nanoparticles.

The protector according to the invention has the advantage that it can be easily placed in the right place, does not cause any unpleasant sensations for the wearer due to painful insertion into the anus, does not require cumbersome connection to underwear, and yet provides a feeling of security for the wearer, as unwanted noises caused by flatulence are significantly reduced and the release of unpleasant odors is also minimized. The "explosive" discharge of noises and odors is dampened because the gases emitted by the vibrating body are no longer fully accessible to the anal opening.
