So ist es bekannt, nur einzelnen Eingabeeinheiten wechselnde Funktionalitäten zuzuordnen, wohingegen bestimmte Eingabeeinheiten eine feste Funktionalität behalten. Allgemein werden Eingabeeinheiten, deren Eingabe sich funktional ändert als Softkeys bezeichnet. Die funktionale Änderung der Belegung eines Softkeys kann nutzer- oder systembedingt sein. Bei einer nutzerbedingten Änderung wechselt der Nutzer bewußt die Funktion. Beispielsweise bei Kraftfahrzeuganwendungen wechselt der Nutzer von einer Navigationsdaten- in eine Telefonnummerneingabe. Problematisch sind systembedingte Änderungen der Softkeys. Beispiele für derartige systembedingte Änderungen sind eingehende Telefonanrufe oder Warn- und Hinweismeldungen. Dabei kann es dazu kommen, daß der Nutzer gerade eine Eingabe mit einem Softkey durchführen möchte und sich systembedingt dessen Funktionalität ändert, so daß es zu einer ungewünschten Eingabe kommt.Electronic components and devices have an increasing number of functions on. In der Mitte der Anzeigeeinheit 2 ist die aktuell benutzte Funktion dargestellt. Im dargestellten Beispiel ist dies die manuelle Wahl einer Telefonnummer. Hierzu benutzt der Nutzer die als Dreh-Druckgeber ausgebildete Eingabeeinheit 5. Durch Drehen des Dreh- Druckgebers bewegt sich ein Balken 7 je nach Drehrichtung nach oben oder nach unten. Der Nutzer bewegt den Balken 7 durch die Drehung sukzessive auf die gewünschte Ziffer und bestätigt diese durch Drücken des Dreh-Druckgebers. Im dargestellten Beispiel ist also die Funktion des Dreh-Druckgebers das Bewegen eines Balken 7 zum Auswählen von Ziffern und deren Bestätigung. Die ersten 200 ms nach Einblendung der neuen Funktion "Ankommender Anruft" bleibt dem Dreh-Druckgeber die ursprüngliche Belegung "Auswahl und Bestätigung von Ziffern" zugeordnet. Anschließend bleibt für 600 ms der Dreh-Druckgeber deaktiviert, bevor die neue Belegung dem Dreh-Druckgeber zugeordnet wird. Bei einem simultanen Wechsel der Funktion und Eingabe bzw.
