Abstract

Un dispositivo de infusión de fármacos determina si un programa de infusión se almacena dentro de una memoria. Si es así, se le solicita al usuario que confirme el uso del programa y un identificador de fármacos, y que revise la configuración del dispositivo. Si el programa no está en la memoria, el dispositivo de infusión de fármacos está habilitado para recibir un programa automático con el que se puede configurar el mismo. Cuando la recepción del programa automático está habilitada, el dispositivo de infusión de fármacos espera el programa automático o una selección para el ingreso manual del programa de infusión. Se muestra una pantalla de menú para indicar que el dispositivo de infusión de fármacos está esperando el programa automático, pero la pantalla del menú no se muestra si el programa automático ya se recibió. Por lo tanto, se puede evitar una pantalla del menú de programa automático en espera en muchos casos, reduciendo el tiempo de configuración del dispositivo. En algunas implementaciones, la extracción de un vial de fármaco restablece el dispositivo a un punto después de una autocomprobación de encendido y proporciona así un método sencillo para reiniciar el dispositivo a un punto que evita etapas innecesarias y expande una ventana de oportunidad para recibir un programa automático en comparación con los flujos de trabajo anteriores.
