FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a purification apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, with certain elements thereof partially shown;
fig. 2 is a detail view of fig. 1.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows an exhaust gas purification device 10, which exhaust gas purification device 10 is used in a heat engine exhaust line, in particular a diesel engine exhaust line, which is provided in, for example, a vehicle.
The purification device 10 comprises a casing 12, the casing 12 comprising a peripheral wall 14, the peripheral wall 14 delimiting a casing 16, the casing 16 extending in a longitudinal direction X between a rear end defined by a bottom wall 18 and a front end defined by an access opening 19, the access opening 19 being covered with a movable cover 20.
In the depicted example, the peripheral wall 14 is generally cylindrical in shape with a circular base defined about the longitudinal axis.
It should be noted that as a variant, the peripheral wall may have any other conceivable shape, for example a substantially cylindrical shape with a rectangular or elliptical base.
The bottom wall 18 advantageously has a gas passage opening 22, for example a central opening.
The bottom wall 18 is integrally connected to the peripheral wall 14. The bottom wall 18 is, for example, made integral with the peripheral wall 14, for example forming a peripheral edge radially delimiting the opening 22.
The bottom wall 18 has an inner surface 18a facing the accommodating portion 16 and an outer surface 18b opposite to the inner surface 18 a.
The housing 12 is carried by a support 24, which support 24 comprises, for example, two support plates 24a and 24 b.
The first support plate 24a is inserted around the peripheral wall 14, for example, near the front end of the housing 12.
The second support plate 24b is integrally connected to the bottom wall 18. More specifically, the second support plate 24b is integrally connected to the outer surface 18b, such as by welding, brazing, or any other suitable means.
The second support plate 24b further includes a second gas passage opening 26, the second gas passage opening 26 being disposed to face the central opening 22. Therefore, the interior of the accommodating portion 16 communicates with the exterior through the central opening and the second passage opening 26.
The second passage opening 26 is delimited, for example, by a skirt 28 extending longitudinally on the second support plate 24 b. The skirt 28 allows for example a pipe (not shown) to be connected to an exhaust line.
The cover 20 is connected to the housing 12 by a removable fixture 30.
For example, the housing 12 includes a rim 32 at a front end thereof. The edge 32 is radially divergent with respect to the peripheral wall 14.
The securing means 30 comprise, for example, a collar 34, which collar 34 clamps the lid 20 against the rim 32.
The collar 34 comprises, for example, two lips 36 which are arranged on both sides of the lid 20 and the rim 32 in the longitudinal direction.
The purification apparatus 10 includes at least two purification cartridges, referred to as a front purification cartridge 38A and a rear purification cartridge 38B, which are accommodated in the accommodation portion 16 while being aligned with each other in the longitudinal direction X. The front purge cartridge 38A is disposed near the front end and the rear purge cartridge 38B is disposed near the rear end.
The first purifying device 40A has, for example, a substantially cylindrical shape with a circular base.
According to the purification system under consideration, the first purification device 40A is for example selected from a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) or a selective catalytic reduction device (SCR).
At least one first retaining element 44A is received between first purifying device 40A and first wrapper 42A in a conventional manner to hold first purifying device 40A in place relative to first wrapper 42A.
The first casing 42A includes a peripheral ledge 46 at the front end. The peripheral projection 46 extends radially with a diameter larger than that of the housing 14, so that the peripheral projection 46 is held outside the accommodating portion 16 when the front cylinder 38A is inserted into the accommodating portion 16.
More specifically, peripheral ledge 46 is adapted to be longitudinally sandwiched between cover 20 and rim 32 of housing 12. Thus, when the cover 20 is secured to the rim 32, the front barrel 38A is thus held in the receptacle by longitudinal clamping of the peripheral boss 46 between the cover 20 and the rim 32 of the housing 12.
Advantageously, a first annular sealing gasket 48 is interposed between the lid 20 and the peripheral boss 46, and a second annular sealing gasket 50 is interposed between the peripheral boss 46 and the rim 32.
The post-purge cartridge 38B includes a second purge device 40B surrounded by a second enclosure 42B.
The second purification device 40B has, for example, a substantially cylindrical shape with a circular base.
According to the purification system under consideration, the second purification device 40B is for example selected from a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) or a selective catalytic reduction device (SCR). It should be noted that the second purge device 40B may be the same as the first purge device 40A, or as a variation, different from the first purge device 40A.
At least one second retaining element 44B is received between second purifying device 40B and second wrapper 42B in a conventional manner to retain second purifying device 40B in position relative to second wrapper 42B.
In the depicted example, second wrapper 42B wraps an inwardly folded edge 52 at its rear end. The edge 52 extends in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X.
It is noted that the housing 12 comprises, in the housing 16, guide means 53 carried by the peripheral wall 14 for guiding the cartridges 38A, 38B. These guide means 53 allow good alignment of the cartridges 38A, 38B to be achieved when the cartridges 38A, 38B are inserted into the receptacles or when the cartridges 38A, 38B are removed from the receptacles.
The purification apparatus 10 includes movable fixing means 54 for movably fixing the rear cylinder 38B to the bottom wall 18, and these fixing means 54 are operable from the outer surface 18B side.
The term "operable from the side of the outer surface 18 b" should be understood that the fixation device 54 may be activated and deactivated by an action effected on the side of the outer surface 18b, without requiring an action on the side of the inner surface 18 a. In other words, access to the interior of receptacle 16 to activate or deactivate fixture 54 is not required.
The fixing device 54 comprises at least one fixing element 56 operable from the side of the outer surface 18 b.
The fixation element 56 is preferably a screw that includes a threaded shaft 56a and a screw head 56 b.
The screw head 56b is provided on the side of the outer surface 18b so that the screw head 56b is accessible and operable from the outside of the rear portion of the housing 12.
Threaded rod 56a passes through bottom wall 18 and preferably through back plate 24 b. For this reason, the bottom wall 18 has a first passage hole 60 for each screw 56, and the rear plate 24b preferably has a second passage hole 62 for each screw 56 disposed to face the first passage hole 60.
The rear barrel 38b also includes a tapped hole 64 for each screw 56 that is complementary to the threaded shaft 56 a. A tapped hole 64 is preferably provided in the rim 52.
The tapped hole 64 is complementary to the threaded rod 56a so that the threaded rod 56a is fixed to the rear barrel 38b by being screwed into the tapped hole 64.
Advantageously, the rear cylinder 38b and/or the housing 12 comprise error-proofing means for ensuring that each tapping hole 64 faces the first passage hole 60 when the rear cylinder 38b is inserted into the housing 16. These error protection means are carried, for example, by the guide means 53.
It is apparent that the present invention allows the rear barrel 38b to be easily secured in the housing 12 or removed from the housing 12 by simply threading or unthreading the screw 56 from the rear of the housing 12 without requiring access to the interior of the housing 12.
Therefore, the assembly of the cartridge in the purification device 10 according to the present invention is performed as follows.
Initially, rear barrel 38b is inserted into receptacle 16, the end carrying rim 52 being turned toward bottom wall 18 until rim 52 contacts inner surface 18a of bottom wall 18. When this insertion is performed, the cylinder 38b is guided by the guide device 53.
Advantageously, the angular orientation of the rear barrel 38b is dictated by the error-proofing device such that the tapping hole 64 faces the first passage hole 60.
The screw 56 is attached from the rear of the housing 12 (i.e., from the outer surface 18b side of the bottom wall 18) and is screwed into the tapped hole 64 through the first passage hole 60 and the second passage hole 62. Therefore, the rear cylinder 38b is fixed to the housing 12 by screwing.
The front barrel 38a is then inserted into the receptacle 16, the end not carrying the peripheral ledge 46 being turned towards the bottom wall 18 until the peripheral ledge 46 is in contact with the rim 32, preferably by means of a second sealing gasket 50. When this insertion is performed, the front tube 38a is guided by the guide device 53.
The cap 20 is finally held in place by the collar 34.
When at least one of the cartridges needs to be replaced, the cartridge is taken out of its housing 16 in the manner described below.
The front cylinder 38a can then be removed from the receptacle 16, the front cylinder 38a still being guided by the guide device 53.
The screws 56 are unscrewed from the rear of the housing 12 without any intervention in the parts inside the housing 12.
The rear cylinder 38b can then be removed from the receptacle 16, the rear cylinder 38b still being guided by the guide device 53.
A new cartridge may then be assembled into the housing 12 in the same manner as described above.
It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, but may have various additional modifications.
The purification apparatus 10 may have, for example, two or more purification cartridges as long as the front cartridge and the rear cartridge are held as described above. The other cartridge will then be aligned between the front and rear cartridges.
