wherein the base assembly further comprises a stiffener intersecting the support rib and configured to extend inwardly and upwardly from the inner surface of the sidewall.

2. The cooking appliance of claim 1, wherein a top surface of the reinforcing rib is lower than a top surface of the support rib.

3. The cooking appliance of claim 1, wherein the reinforcing ribs are perpendicular to the support ribs.

4. The cooking appliance of claim 1, wherein the reinforcing ribs are symmetrically disposed with respect to the support rib.

5. The cooking appliance of claim 1, wherein the reinforcing ribs are provided at corners of the side walls.

6. The cooking appliance of claim 1, wherein the base assembly has a plurality of support ribs that are equally spaced.

7. The cooking appliance of claim 6, wherein the base assembly has a plurality of said reinforcing ribs, the number of said reinforcing ribs being less than the number of said support ribs.

8. The cooking appliance of claim 1, wherein the pot body further comprises a circumferentially extending shell disposed at a top of the side wall, the support rib for abutting against the shell.

9. The cooking appliance of claim 8, wherein the support rib has a guide surface disposed outside the top portion, the guide surface being configured to extend downward in a direction toward the side wall.

10. The cooking appliance of claim 8, wherein the lower end of the housing is provided with a bent portion, and the base assembly has a snap-fit portion that snaps to the bent portion to mount the base assembly to the housing.
