The switchable privacy display device of the embodiment can directly utilize the existing backlight source and display panel, and the display device can be switched between the privacy display narrow viewing angle mode and the normal display wide viewing angle mode only by adding the fresnel lens 15 and the switchable diffusion sheet 13 between the backlight source and the display panel. Moreover, compared with the prior art, the optical member with the collimation or focus-on-center effect has lower cost than the 3M peep-proof film, and the mass production of products is easy to realize.
As shown in fig. 4 and fig. 5, in another embodiment, a surface of the fresnel lens 15 inscribed with a concentric circle is opposite to a light emitting surface of the backlight 14 (i.e. the fresnel lens 15 is inverted), and the backlight 14 includes the light source 141 and the reflective sheet, and does not include the light guide plate and the diffusion sheet. The display device can realize the switching between the wide visual angles of the peep-proof display and the normal display, and simultaneously saves components and reduces the cost.
In this embodiment, the face of the fresnel lens 15 with the concentric circles is placed facing to the backlight, the backlight source 14 can be realized by the point light source 142, the converged light emitted by the point light source 142 becomes collimated parallel light after passing through the fresnel lens 15, when the switchable diffuser 13 is in a transparent state, the emergent light is still collimated parallel light, and the display panel 3 is in a narrow viewing angle state, as shown in fig. 4: when the switchable diffuser 13 is in a scattering state, the collimated parallel light is uniformly scattered by the switchable diffuser 13, and the emergent light becomes uniform non-directional light, so that the display panel 3 is in a wide viewing angle state, as shown in fig. 5. In this embodiment, the original light guide plate and diffuser can be removed from the backlight 14, and the reflector needs to be kept and placed below the point light sources.
