Abstract

Pre-moistened towels consist of a highly absorbent tissue sheet, such as tissue paper or tissue containing polymeric fibers to enhance its strength, and which has been wetted with a liquid cleanser. Cleaning agents may include medicaments, deodorants, or the like. Since the paper towels contain moisture, they must be stored in a container that seals the paper towels from the air surrounding the dispenser to prevent evaporation of the liquid in the paper towels. US Patent No. 3,837,595 discloses a dispenser for rolls of moistened paper towels in the form of a cylindrical housing. The cylinder may comprise an open cylinder and one or more circular sealing rims for sealing the cylinder opening. The cylinder has a dispensing slot for dispensing moistened wipes. When the paper towel roll needs to be replaced, the sealing rim or rims are removed from the cylinder, a new paper towel roll is loaded into the cylinder, and the end of the paper towel roll is passed through the slit of the cylinder. In addition, the sealing rim must be positioned correctly to create the required seal to prevent evaporation of moisture from the new roll of paper towels.

US Patent No. 4,235,333 discloses a dispenser for rolls of moistened paper towels that must be secured to the washroom wall. US Patent No. 3,310,353 discloses a dispenser for rolls of moistened paper towels. The dispenser comprises a cylindrical structure formed by two parts joined together by a hinge. The interior of the dispenser is sealed from the ambient air by a spring loaded plate positioned at the outlet of the dispenser, or by an auxiliary storage means for replenishing liquid to wet wipes passing therethrough.

Accordingly, it is necessary to provide a wet tissue dispenser that can dispense a required length of tissue while the wet tissue is isolated from the outside to prevent the tissue from drying out. Additionally, there is a need for a dispenser that dispenses tissues without opening the dispenser. Furthermore, there is a need for a dispenser that can be placed on or next to a horizontal or vertical surface to provide convenient access to dispensing moist wipes in a variety of locations.

Contents of the invention

The present invention provides a dispenser for dispensing moistened tissues from a roll of paper towels, which consists of two housing parts connected by a sealed hinge arrangement, which can also be sealed by two seals located at opposite ends of the dispenser. Detailed ways

The tissue of the present invention can be placed on a relatively horizontal surface or a relatively vertical plane. The dispenser of the present invention consists of two housing parts and is capable of containing moistened paper towels and keeping the paper towels moist by preventing evaporation of the paper towels during storage. In addition, the dispenser of the present invention can extract a certain length of paper towels without opening the dispenser. The paper towel dispenser in the present invention includes a paper towel dispensing slot defined by two flanges respectively located on the housing part. The retention pins 42, 44 are made of a flexible material, such as a conventional moldable plastic composite, so that the ends 50, 52 can be manually forced through the holes 54 or 56 after the dispenser 10 is completed. The ends 50, 52 are sufficiently rigid so that when the housing portions 26, 28 are separated and the dispenser 10 is opened, the ends can be secured in the wall or aperture 54 or 56. As shown in FIG. 3 , the inner surface 62 of the housing portion 26 and the inner surface 64 of the housing portion 28 are provided with ribs 66 . The ribs 66 extend above the surfaces 62, 64 so that the surface friction of the roll of wet tissues contained in the dispenser 10 is reduced due to its contact with a smaller surface area of the ribs 66 rather than the entire surfaces 62, 65.
