Abstract
本发明涉及一种无粉尘、含溶剂的均匀颜料制剂,该制剂包括≥70%(重量)的一种或多种有效颜料,0.1—30%(重量)具有蒸发值(EN)为10—100且表面张力(ST)≤35mN/m的有机溶剂或溶剂混合物,并任选0—5%(重量)的表面活性物质。
Description
本发明涉及无粉尘、含溶剂的均匀颜料制剂及其应用,特别是用于印刷油墨中。
工业过程中往往不使用呈干粉形式的颜料,因为这些粉尘关系到车间的安全,从而导致对它提高了要求。此外,将粉末掺入塑料、底基涂料体系等经常伴随颜料粉末的附聚。因此,即使可能也往往很难实现将颜料均匀地分配到相应的基质中。
采用无粉尘的颜料制剂代替颜料粉末。这些制剂是- 具有低含湿量自由流动的着色粉末,例如,可从DE-A-41 39 993得知,- 具有较高含湿量的着色粉末,通常,由于它们的易流动性稠度也称之为糊剂,- 涂以用量为5-20%(重量)的亚烷基二醇烷基醚的珠光光泽颜料,可从US 5,234,496得知。
在工业上,糊剂可以代替干的或潮湿的粉末,只要它们符合下列一般条件:- 易流动性稠度- 很低的膨胀性- 很高的颜料含量
该制剂的组分应该是这样的,即该制剂与特定涂料体系的其它组分是高度相容的,且在掺入时易于均匀地分散。
除了与涂料体系的其它组分具有良好的相容性之外,颜料制剂还必须具有高度的稳定性,即它们必须既不趋向于相分离,又不会改变其总组成。在基于片晶形状颜料的颜料制剂情况下,上述要求是特别重要的,因为由于它们的松散结构势必会引起相分离。例如,通过将由珠光光泽颜料组成的粉末、溶剂和水糊化而得到的含溶剂颜料制剂往往缺乏稳定性,各组分会相互分离且装填物的上部区域会变干。
含有过量挥发物例如低沸点有机溶剂的颜料制剂,通常有组成不稳定的缺点,这是由于该溶剂的挥发性所致。此外,由于珠光光泽颜料具有高表面张力因而难以用有机物质和溶剂润湿,由于这些颜料具有夹层结构因而尤其在表面上具有特别大量的孔隙,这些孔隙大部分也很难让液体物质接近(与常规的有机和无机的颜料比较)。
迄今,为用于涂料体系而开发的、颜料含量>30(重量)和<70%(重量)的含溶剂珠光光泽颜料制剂不完全符合上述要求,特别是由于它们趋向于剪切稠化。
因此,本发明的目的提供了一种含有至少70%(重量)有效(effect)颜料的自由流动颜料制剂。该制剂在贮存时具有高度稳定性,且具有与涂料体系的其它组分极好的相容性。
在印刷中特别关注的是,一旦施加了印刷油墨,必须非常迅速地释出其中所有的挥发性组分,以使干产物中没有可检测到的这些物质的气味(Robinson试验)。因此,务必确保蒸发值不超过某一上限。
已发现,采用本发明的颜料制剂可以达到上述目的。
因此,本发明提供了一种无粉尘、均匀的颜料制剂,该制剂包括- ≥70%(重量)的一种或多种有效颜料,- 0.1-30%(重量)具有蒸发值(EN)为10-100且表面张力(ST)≤35 mN/m的有机溶剂或溶剂混合物,并任选- 0-20%(重量)的表面活性物质。
本发明的制剂是一种取决于含湿量的自由流动粉末,该粉末特别适用于掺入印刷油墨。更具体而言,本发明的制剂可缩短将颜料搅拌进入印刷油墨所需的时间。此外,在将该制剂掺入水性印刷油墨体系时它可显著地减少起泡沫的问题。本发明的颜料制剂同样具有在着色的印刷油墨中更迅速达到“最终粘度”的效果。这样着色了的印刷油墨在贮存时是稳定的,而且特别易于再分散。
本发明的颜料制剂在贮存时同样是稳定的,且在贮存罐中不会分离或使组成变化。
本发明的颜料制剂的基本成分是有效颜料,例如珠光光泽颜料、干扰色颜料、多层颜料、片晶状的金属氧化物,例如Fe2O3、TiO2、SiO2、Al2O3、用一种或多种金属氧化物和/或金属硫化物涂覆了的、全息颜料、基于片晶状基质的功能颜料以及本领域中的技术人员熟知的所有珠光颜料。
使用有机溶剂或溶剂混合物,优选采用酯、酮、醇、矿物油或芳族溶剂,可对有效颜料,特别是在具有高孔隙率的颜料例如珠光光泽颜料的情况下提供极好的润湿作用。
所用的珠光光泽颜料是基于片晶状、透明或半透明基质的颜料,该基质是例如由片状硅酸盐例如天然或合成云母、滑石、绢云母、高岭土组成的、由玻璃或其它硅酸盐材料组成的、由玻璃或石墨组成的,并以单层或逐层的方式涂以单独的或混合的有色或无色金属氧化物,例如TiO2、低价钛氧化物、钛的氧氮化物、Fe2O3、Fe3O4、SnO2、Cr2O3、ZnO、CuO、NiO以及其它金属氧化物。珠光光泽颜料例如可从以下德国专利和专利申请得知:14 67 468、19 59 998、20 09 566、22 14 454、22 15 191、22 44 298、23 13 331、25 22 572、31 37 808、31 37 809、31 51 343、31 51 354、31 51 355、32 11 602、32 35 017和P 38 42330且可从市场上买到,例如可按Iriodin商标从Merck KGaA,Darmstadt,Germany买到。特别优选的颜料制剂含有TiO2/云母、Fe2O3/云母和/或TiO2/Fe2O3云母颜料。
还优选涂覆了TiO2-和/或Fe2O3-的SiO2或Al2O3片晶。可以将SiO2片晶涂以一种或多种金属氧化物,如WO 93/08237(湿法化学涂覆)或DE-A 196 14 637(CVD法)中所述。涂覆了的Al2O3片晶例如可从EP 0 763573得知。
本发明的颜料制剂可以含一种或多种有效颜料。通常,采用至少两种不同的有效颜料会提供特殊的颜色和光泽效果。
本发明的颜料制剂优选含有≥70%(重量)、特别是≥80%(重量)的有效颜料。非常特别优选的是有效颜料含量大于85%(重量)的颜料制剂。优选采用一种或多种珠光光泽颜料。重量百分数均以糊化了的颜料制剂为基准。
用于本发明颜料制剂的有机溶剂,特别是如果该颜料制剂是用于印刷和包装时,可包括酯类、醇类、二元醇和三元醇类、酮类、多元醇类、矿物油类和/或芳族溶剂类。
所述的溶剂具有的蒸发值为10-100,以确保较快速地干燥,特别是在高速印刷机上印刷时。所用溶剂或溶剂混合物的蒸发值(EN)优选为12-40,特别是15-30(乙醚=1),以确保快速干燥并使印刷品的气味减到最少。该溶剂的表面张力应为≤35mN/m,特别是≤30mN/m。
除了蒸发值之外,该溶剂应优选具有介电常数≥4,优选≥6。所用的溶剂或溶剂混合物的粘度通常为≤20厘泊、优选为≤5厘泊。
符合所述物理参数条件的溶剂是例如4-甲基-2-戊醇(EN=66;ST=22.7)、2-丁醇(EN=15;ST=23.3)、2,6-二甲基-4-庚酮(EN=48;ST=22.6)、乙酸1-甲氧基-2-丙酯(EN=34;ST=27.6)、二甲苯(EN=17.3;ST=28.7)、Aromatic 100*(芳族溶剂混合物)可从例如Eastman(EN=41.7;ST=29.0)得到(根据1992年11月Eastman,M-167R的技术数据表)。
亚烷基二醇烷基醚,例如乙二醇单丁醚(EN=160)、二甘醇正丁醚(EN=37.50)、丙二醇正丁醚(EN=156)作为用于现有技术US 5,234,496中的溶剂具有过高的蒸发值,因此不适用于本发明的糊剂。
将0-5%(重量)、优选0.01-3%(重量)、特别优选0.05-1%(重量)的润温剂或表面活性物质包含在本发明的颜料制剂中通常是可取的。实用的润湿剂具体是包含疏水性侧链例如还可含其它官能团的烷基硅烷、不饱和或饱和脂肪酸或含氟表面活性剂的润温剂。特别优选式(CnH2n+1)Si(OCmH2m+1)3的硅烷化合物作为表面活性物质,式中,n为1-30而m为1-10。适宜的硅烷化合物是例如正己基癸基三乙氧基硅烷和正辛基癸基三乙氧基硅烷(Si 116和Si 118,分别来自Degussa Hüls AG,Frankfurt,FRG)以及相应的氟代烷基硅烷。
实用的表面活性物质还包括饱和和不饱和的脂肪酸,例如己酸、辛酸、癸酸、月桂酸、肉豆蔻酸、棕榈酸、硬脂酸、油酸、亚油酸及其混合物。
实用的表面活性剂具有较长的烷基链,它可以是单或多氟化的,且具有亲水的或亲有机质的首基,例如聚氧乙烯基、羧基或砜基。它们具有阳离子、非离子或阴离子的结构。特别采用的含氟表面活性剂是以商品名FLUORAD FC430和FC431(3 M生产)和BorchigolFT448(Borchers,Düsseldorf,Germany生产)销售的含氟表面活性剂。
该颜料制剂优选包括硅烷、表面活性剂或脂肪酸。该表面活性剂还可以是硅烷、脂肪酸和/或表面活性剂的混合物。
实用的表面活性物质还包括片状硅酸盐、特别是来自蒙脱石系列例如蒙脱石/贝得石系列的片状硅酸盐。所提及的蒙脱石类,由于它们显著的溶胀性是特别值得注意的。这些产品可以在市场上买到,例如Laporte UK或Südchemie,RFG以商品名Optigel CG在市场上按laponite的商标销售的一种合成硅酸锂镁钠(类似于锂蒙脱石)、膨润土,或tixogel PE,一种亲有机质的疏水性蒙脱石。但是,蛭石和伊利石系列的云母类硅酸盐及云母本身(白云母、金云母、黑云母)也是适宜的。决定性的标准是该片晶状颗粒的稠度及其在喷雾干燥过程中被消化的性能。
为了表面改性,也可以使用上述片状硅酸盐和已改性的片状硅酸盐的混合物。优选采用呈活性形式的片状硅酸盐,即,将硅酸盐分散在水中,使其转化为溶胶,随后进行喷雾干燥。
本发明的颜料制剂可以在其制备过程中或之后,将另一些常规添加剂例如消泡剂、润湿剂、抗沉降剂、流动活性剂、或摇溶剂添加到其中。这些添加剂都是印刷工业中的常规助剂,且在本发明颜料制剂中的含量可以为0-10%(重量)。
本发明的颜料制剂可以通过将溶剂和任选的其它添加剂同时或相继添加到有效颜料或有效颜料混合物中,然后,将所得混合物在混合设备特别是Dispermat中匀化而简单地制备。优选将该颜料作为初始进料引入,然后用少量溶剂将其糊化。
本发明的制剂可用于印刷、涂料和油漆领域中的涂料体系。该制剂特别优选用于任何衬底材料,例如金属如铁、钢、铝、铜、青铜、黄铜以及金属箔的装饰和/或保护,而且还可用于玻璃的金属镀覆表面、陶瓷和混凝土,以及用于木材例如家具、粘土、纺织品、纸张、包装材料例如塑料容器、薄膜或纸板,或其它材料。
因此,本发明还提供了该颜料制剂在例如油漆、涂料、印刷油墨和塑料配方中的应用。
以下非限制性实施例将对本发明作详细说明。
实施例
实施例1
将540克Iriodin123(具有粒度为5-20微米的TiO2云母颜料,Merck KGaA,Germany生产)作为初始进料引入,然后,在搅拌下添加60克乙酸1-甲氧基-2-丙酯(EN=34,ST=27.6)。将该混合物匀化,然后将潮湿、均匀的产物放出并将其装入密封的玻璃瓶中。
实施例2
将1020克涂覆了Fe2O3、粒度为5-40微米的SiO2片晶(Merck KGaA,Germany生产)作为初始进料引入,然后,在搅拌下添加180克2,6-二甲基-4-庚酮(EN=48,ST=22.6)。将该混合物匀化,然后将潮湿、均匀的产物放出并将其装入密封的玻璃瓶中。

3.根据权利要求1或2的无粉尘、均匀的颜料制剂,其特征在于该珠光光泽颜料是涂覆了TiO2-和/或Fe2O3-的云母片晶。
4.根据权利要求1-3中任一项的无粉尘、均匀的颜料制剂,其特征在于该有机溶剂或溶剂混合物是酮、酯、醇、二元醇或三元醇、多元醇、矿物油或芳族溶剂。
5.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的无粉尘、均匀的颜料制剂,其特征在于该溶剂是乙酸1-甲氧基-2-丙酯。
6.根据权利要求1-5中任一项的无粉尘、均匀的颜料制剂,其特征在于该表面活性物质是含氟表面活性剂、硅氧烷表面活性剂、硅烷、片状硅酸盐或脂肪酸。
7.根据权利要求1-6中任一项的无粉尘、均匀的颜料制剂,其特征在于它还包括再分散剂。
8.根据权利要求1-7中任一项的无粉尘、均匀的颜料制剂,其特征在于它可以包括消泡剂、润湿剂、抗沉降剂、催干剂、和/或摇溶剂作为追加的组分。
