Description

Breathable mask and breathing tube for snorkeling

Technical Field

The invention relates to a breathable mask, in particular to a breathable mask with an air inlet and an air outlet of a breathing tube which are independent of each other.

Background Art

In order to allow the user's mouth and nose to breathe freely and avoid the inconvenience of carrying a mask and a breathing tube, various full face snorkel masks (FFSM) have been developed. The design of FFSM is to fix the breathing tube on the top of the mask body and connect it with the inside of the mask body in a fluid manner. In addition, independent air intake and exhaust channels are set in the breathing tube to prevent the fresh air inhaled by the user from mixing with the dirty air (containing carbon dioxide) exhaled last time, so as to achieve the purpose of comfort and safety.

However, usually in such a design, the inhaled air will pass through the breathing tube, the upper chamber (corresponding to shielding the user's eyes), and the intake one-way valve, that is, enter the lower chamber (corresponding to shielding the user's nose and mouth) to be supplied to the user; while the exhaled air will pass through the exhaust channel set at the outer edge of the body, run half a circle and then enter the breathing tube, running the entire length of the breathing tube before being discharged. In such a configuration, it is obvious that the exhaust path is much longer than the intake path. The user can only increase the exhalation volume to complete the exhaust action more thoroughly. The result of such a large exhalation must also be accompanied by a large inhalation to establish a balanced cycle of inhalation and exhalation, which consumes a lot of the user's physical strength.

In addition, because the air intake and exhaust pipes are both installed inside a breathing tube, whether it is a left and right double-tube setting, or a three-tube design with middle air intake and left and right exhaust, the tube body will become very thick, resulting in large size and weight, and it is not beautiful.

In addition, since the interior of the mask body is mostly designed with a balanced design of air intake in the middle and exhaust along the two outer edges of the body, if the breathing tube is set with two left and right tubes, the gas connection between the body and the breathing tube will not be smooth. If the breathing tube adopts a three-tube design with air intake in the middle and exhaust on the left and right, although the smoothness of the connection is not a problem, because the diameter of the breathing tube is limited, the diameter of the internal air intake and exhaust pipes must be very small, which in turn blocks the smooth passage of gas and increases the burden of the user's breathing. Moreover, the air intake and exhaust ports for gas exchange with the outside are both located at the top of the breathing tube (i.e., the shared air intake and exhaust ports), plus the necessary float configuration, so that the top of this type of breathing tube (especially the dry type breathing tube) is not only complex in structure, but also large in size, inconvenient to carry, and the appearance cannot be beautified, and the manufacturing cost is also high. For related structures, please refer to the content of U.S. Patent No. 10,793,239B2.

In order to overcome the above problems, the industry has begun to think about the design of shortening the exhaust path. The specific method is to separate the exhaust pipe in the breathing tube, that is, to make the breathing tube a channel that is only responsible for inhaling fresh air, and set the exhaust port of the exhaust channel on the main frame of the mask. In this way, the air exhaled by the user can be discharged to the outside after circling the outer edge of the mask half a circle, and no longer needs to enter the breathing tube, so the exhaust path can be greatly shortened. For related technology, please refer to the content of US Patent No. 11,312,457B2. However, this design will face several major problems. First, the main frame, lens, and skirt of the snorkeling mask must be interlocked to achieve the purpose of waterproofing. The exhaust port is set on the main frame and connected to the exhaust tunnel on the outer edge of the mask body, which undoubtedly increases the complexity of the structure, increases the manufacturing cost, and the water tightness of the mask body may be reduced. Second, when the user is snorkeling in the water, the mask body will mostly be facing downward or slightly raised. Therefore, when viewing the underwater scenery, the entire mask body will be buried in the water. When the user exhales, not only does he need to overcome the water pressure, which is very physically demanding, but a large number of bubbles will also be generated. These bubbles will seriously interfere with the line of sight, and because they are too close to the user's ears, they will form additional noise during snorkeling, which is not comfortable.

In addition, snorkeling is an underwater activity, and water can easily accumulate in the mask. Users usually have to get out of the water to spit out the accumulated water through the drain valve, or take off the mask to pour out the accumulated water. There is no way to overcome the water pressure underwater and directly spit out the accumulated water through the drain valve, which is very inconvenient. This is one of the current problems of FFSM.

In view of this, solving the above problems simultaneously or partially has become a unanimous goal of the industry.

Summary of the invention

One purpose of the present invention is to provide a breathing tube for snorkeling, which is suitable for a breathable mask. The breathing tube of the present invention remains unchanged in terms of air intake, such as a dry breathing tube, and whether air is taken in from the air inlet is still controlled by a float. However, in terms of exhalation, the breathing tube of the present invention has a new exhaust port on the tube body of the breathing tube, especially at a position with a larger width, and an exhaust check valve is added to the exhaust port. In this way, when snorkeling with the breathable mask of the present invention, because the exhaust path does not extend to the top of the breathing tube and is significantly shortened and the position of the exhaust port is not too low, it is almost always near the water surface when used, and there is no need to overcome strong water pressure, and no bubbles will be generated to interfere with the line of sight and produce unpleasant noise.

To achieve the above-mentioned purpose, the present invention provides a breathing tube for snorkeling, which includes a tube body. The tube body has an upper end and a lower end opposite to the upper end. An air inlet pipe and an exhaust pipe are formed inside the tube body. The exhaust pipe is longitudinally isolated from the air inlet pipe by a partition wall. The upper end has an air inlet port for inhaled air to enter the upper end through the air inlet port and flow to the lower end along the air inlet pipe. An exhaust one-way valve is provided between the upper end and the lower end, and the exhaled air flowing into the exhaust pipe from the lower end is discharged through the exhaust one-way valve. The partition wall extends upward from the lower end to an area above the exhaust one-way valve and is connected to a front side wall or a rear side wall of the tube body in this area.

In addition, the present invention provides a respirable mask for snorkeling, which comprises: a body and a breathing tube. The breathing tube is connected to the body and comprises a tube body. An exhaust check valve is arranged between the upper end and the lower end, and the exhaled air flowing into the exhaust pipe from the lower end is discharged through the exhaust check valve. The partition wall extends upward from the lower end to an area above the exhaust check valve and is connected to a front side wall or a rear side wall of the tube body in the area. The tube body is connected to the body through the lower end, so that the breathing tube can be connected to the internal fluid of the body.

In one example, the partition wall is connected to the rear side wall of the tube body, and the exhaust check valve is disposed in an opening of the rear side wall of the tube body.

In one example, the exhaust check valve is a mushroom valve.

In one example, the body includes a main frame, a lens embedded in the main frame, a waterproof sealing skirt at least partially embedded with the main frame and the lens, an air inlet channel and an exhaust channel. The waterproof sealing skirt is suitable for fitting on the face of a user. The waterproof sealing skirt has a spacer that separates the interior of the body into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. When the user wears the breathable mask through a fastening device, the spacer is located on the user's nose, the user's eyes are accommodated in the upper chamber, and the user's nose is accommodated in the lower chamber. The air inlet channel is formed between the air inlet pipe and the lower chamber. The exhaust channel is formed between the exhaust pipe and the lower chamber. The exhaust channel and the air inlet channel are independent of each other.

In one example, the exhaust channel is formed by two exhaust tunnels, wherein each of the exhaust tunnels is defined by the waterproof sealing skirt and an inner surface of the lens and is disposed along an outer periphery of the lens.

In one example, the lower end portion is at least partially extended integrally from the lens.

In one example, the breathing tube further includes a button, which is mounted on the tube body, facing the exhaust one-way valve and separated from the exhaust one-way valve, so that when a user actuates the button, the button can prevent the exhaust one-way valve from opening, and when the user does not actuate the button, the exhaust one-way valve can open normally.

The beneficial effect of the present invention is that the breathing tube of the present invention is provided with an exhaust port which is not shared with the air inlet. The position of the exhaust port is designed not to be too high so as to shorten the exhaust path, and the position of the exhaust port is close to the water surface, without water pressure obstacles, making it easier to exhale. Furthermore, the position of the exhaust port is also designed not to be too low so as to avoid the problem of noisy exhaled bubbles and affecting the sight.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention will be explained below through embodiments. The embodiments of the present invention are not intended to limit the present invention to any specific environment, application or special method as described in the embodiments. Therefore, the description of the embodiments is only for the purpose of explaining the present invention, and is not intended to limit the present invention. It should be noted that in the following embodiments and drawings, elements that are not directly related to the present invention have been omitted and are not shown, and the dimensional relationship between the elements in the drawings is only for easy understanding and is not intended to limit the actual proportion.

The first embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 1 , which shows a snorkel 1 for snorkeling. The snorkel 1 includes a tube body 11. The tube body 11 has an upper end 11a and a lower end 11b opposite to the upper end 11a. An air intake pipe 116 and an exhaust pipe 118 longitudinally isolated from the air intake pipe 116 are formed inside the tube body 11. The upper end 11a has an air intake port 112, so that the inhaled air enters the upper end 11a through the air intake port 112 and flows to the lower end 11b along the air intake pipe 116. An exhaust check valve 11e is provided between the upper end 11a and the lower end 11b, so that the exhaled air flowing from the lower end 11b into the exhaust pipe 118 is discharged through the exhaust check valve 11e.

In the tube body 11, the air inlet pipe 116 and the air outlet pipe 118 are separated by a partition wall 11c, so that the air outlet pipe 118 and the air inlet pipe 116 are independent of each other. The partition wall 11c extends upward from the lower end 11b to an area above the exhaust check valve 11e and connects with a side wall of the tube body in the area. In addition, the exhaust check valve 11e is disposed in an opening of the side wall of the tube body 11.

Preferably, the exhaust pipe 118 of the present invention is located in front of or behind the intake pipe 116. For example, as shown in FIG. 1 , the intake pipe 116 and the exhaust pipe 118 formed inside the tube body 11 are longitudinally separated by a partition wall 11c in a front-to-rear arrangement. The exhaust pipe 118 is defined by the rear side wall 11d of the tube body 11, a portion of the left and right side walls, and the partition wall 11c. In this case, the partition wall 11c extends upward from the lower end 11b and then connects with the rear side wall 11d in the area above the exhaust check valve 11e. Therefore, the exhaust gas flow of the present invention will go upward along the partition wall 11c and the rear side wall 11d of the tube body 11, pass through the exhaust check valve 11e, and will not go to the upper end 11a of the tube body 11 to mix with the intake gas flow. In addition, the rear side wall 11d has an opening 114, so the exhaust check valve 11e can be set in the opening 114.

However, in other embodiments, the positions of the air intake pipe 116 and the exhaust pipe 118 may be reversed, and the exhaust check valve may be disposed in the opening of the front side wall of the tube body 11. In addition, in other embodiments, if the air intake pipe 116 and the exhaust pipe 118 are longitudinally isolated in a left-right configuration, the exhaust check valve may be disposed in the opening of the left side wall or the right side wall of the tube body 11.

Accordingly, in the present invention, the air inlet pipe 116 and the air outlet pipe 118 of the breathing tube 1 are longitudinally isolated from each other by the partition wall 11c, which is equivalent to one inlet and one outlet, so that the diameters of the two pipes are large enough and the inlet and outlet air are balanced, thereby solving the defects of the traditional breathing tube due to the one inlet and two outlets having insufficient diameters or imbalance.

The breathing tube 1 can be made of a hard material, but is not limited thereto. The hard material is selected from polycarbonate (PC), polyoxymethylene (POM), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) or a combination thereof.

In this embodiment, the exhaust check valve 11e may be a mushroom-shaped valve, but is not limited thereto. In addition, in other embodiments, a protective cover (not shown) including a plurality of guide holes may be provided above the exhaust check valve 11e. The plurality of guide holes may be arranged in a mesh shape, a honeycomb shape, a grille shape or any combination thereof to prevent seawater from splashing in from the exhaust check valve 11e during the period when the valve plate is opened while exhausting air through the exhaust check valve 11e during snorkeling.

The second embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG2. FIG2 is a rear side view of a snorkeling respirable mask 3 of the present invention. The respirable mask 3 is equipped with the breathing tube 1 shown in FIG1. Specifically, the respirable mask 3 includes a body 13 and the breathing tube 1. The breathing tube 1 is connected to the body 13, that is, as shown in FIG2, the tube body 11 is connected to the body 13 through the lower end 11b, so that the breathing tube 1 can be connected to the internal fluid of the body 13.

204。The body 13 includes a main frame 13a, a lens 13b, a waterproof sealing skirt 13c, two air intake check valves 13d and a drain valve 13e. The lens 13b is embedded in the main frame 13a. The waterproof sealing skirt 13c can fit the face of a user. The waterproof sealing skirt 13c is at least partially embedded with the main frame 13a and the lens 13b, and has a spacer 13c1. The spacer 13c1 is used to separate the interior of the body 13 into an upper chamber 202 and a lower chamber 204.

When the user wears the respirable mask 3 by a fastening device 15 (e.g., an elastic headband), the spacer 13c1 is located on the user's nose, and the user's eyes are accommodated in the upper chamber 202. In addition, depending on the design of the lower chamber of the respirable mask, the waterproof sealing skirt 13c can cover only the user's nose (only inhale through the nose) or cover both the nose and the mouth (inhale through the nose and the mouth at the same time), so that the nose (or the nose and the mouth) are accommodated in the lower chamber 204, that is, at least the user's nose is accommodated in the lower chamber 204. In the respirable mask 3 shown in FIG. 3 , the user's nose and mouth are accommodated in the lower chamber 204 at the same time.

In other words, the breathing tube of the present invention can be applied to various styles of masks, such as traditional diving masks that only cover the eyes and nose; or even applied to traditional mouthpiece breathing tubes, etc. As long as the mask design is a mask with intake and exhaust diversion, and the intake and exhaust pipes are jointly arranged in one breathing tube, and the exhaust check valve is arranged on the tube body instead of the upper end, it is a feasible alternative and is protected by the present invention.

In addition, in one embodiment, the lower end portion 11b is at least partially extended from the lens 13b. Of course, it can also be extended from other parts of the body 13, such as the main frame 13a. In other words, the so-called breathing tube 1 is not necessarily a specific and independent tube body, and any element extending upward from the body 13 of the respirable mask 3 is included.

The third embodiment of the present invention is shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4. Fig. 3 is a coronal cross-sectional view of the main body 13 of the respirable mask 3 of Fig. 2. In addition, Fig. 4 is a sagittal cross-sectional view of the respirable mask 3 of Fig. 2.

The body 13 has an intake passage (not shown) and an exhaust passage 206. The intake passage is formed between the intake pipe 116 and the lower chamber 204, and the exhaust passage 206 is formed between the exhaust pipe 118 and the lower chamber 204. The intake passage and the exhaust passage 206 are independent of each other. Since the composition of the intake passage can be clearly understood from the hollow air flow lines (i.e., the intake path) shown in Figures 3 and 4, the intake passage is not specifically marked to simplify the drawings and make them clear.

As shown in Fig. 3, the exhaust passage 206 can be formed by two exhaust tunnels. Each exhaust tunnel is defined by the waterproof sealing skirt 13c and an inner surface of the lens 13b, and is disposed along an outer peripheral edge of the lens 13b.

When the user inhales, fresh air enters the upper end portion 11a of the breathing tube 1 along the air inlet 112 of the breathing tube 1, then enters the upper chamber 202 of the body 13 of the respirable mask 3 along the air inlet pipe 116, enters the lower chamber 204 through the air inlet one-way valve 13d, and is supplied to the user's nose and mouth (as shown by the hollow air flow lines in Figures 3 and 4).

On the other hand, when the user exhales, the dirty air enters the exhaust passage 206 from the lower chamber 204 and moves upward, enters the exhaust pipe 118 from the lower end 11b of the breathing tube, and after hitting the end of the partition wall 11c, it is naturally discharged to the outside through the exhaust one-way valve 11e provided in the opening 114 of the rear side wall 11d of the tube body 11 (as shown by the solid airflow lines in Figures 3 and 4).

In addition, as shown in FIG. 4 , the partition wall 11c extends upward from the lower end 11b to a position just beyond the exhaust check valve 11e and then connects with the rear side wall 11d of the tube body 11 to shorten the exhaust path as much as possible. However, in other embodiments, the end of the partition wall 11c may continue to extend toward the upper end 11a of the breathing tube 1 for a distance and then connect with a side wall, as long as the purpose of shortening the exhaust path is achieved.

The fourth embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 5 . In this embodiment, a button 11f can be added to the tube body 11 of the breathing tube 1 , facing the exhaust check valve 11e and separated from the exhaust check valve 11e, so as not to hinder the operation of the valve, so that when a user actuates the button 11f, the button can completely prevent the exhaust check valve 11e from opening, and when the user does not actuate the button 11f, the exhaust check valve 11e can open normally. Preferably, the material and shape of the button 11f are not limited, as long as it can provide the ability of flexible deformation and elastic recovery under the operation of the user. When the user is snorkeling underwater, if he wants to discharge the accumulated water in the lower chamber 204 through the drain valve 13e, he can first press the button 11f with his fingers to make the button 11f abut against the exhaust check valve 11e, so that the exhaust check valve 11e cannot be opened, so as to temporarily block the exhaust pipe 118 from being connected to the outside world. At this time, the communication between the exhaust passage 206 and the outside world is temporarily blocked, and the lower chamber 204 forms a closed space. The exhalation pressure naturally increases significantly, allowing the user to overcome the water pressure in the water and drain water easily without floating on the surface, which saves more energy. If the position of the drain valve 13e is designed as shown in Figure 4, facing the user's mouth, the above-mentioned drainage effect will be better. However, it is necessary to further explain that the button 11f is set on the one hand to make the location of the exhaust check valve 11e more eye-catching, increase the user's visual and tactile sense, and facilitate the user's finger to quickly reach the correct position to close the valve; on the other hand, it is also hoped that the larger shielding area of the button will make the valve closing easier and more reliable. In other words, the setting of the button 11f is not necessary, and the user can directly press the exhaust check valve 11e with his finger to close it, which can also achieve the same effect.

In summary, the breathing tube of the present invention has an exhaust port which is not shared with the air inlet. The position of the exhaust port is designed not to be too high to achieve the purpose of shortening the exhaust path, and the exhaust port is close to the water surface without water pressure obstacles, making it easier to exhale. Furthermore, the position of the exhaust port is also designed not to be too low to avoid the problem of noisy exhaled bubbles and affecting vision.

In other words, by arranging the exhaust port in the middle of the breathing tube, there is no need to consider the complex structure of combining the exhaust port with the main frame of the mask body, or combining the exhaust port with the top of the breathing tube (an exhaust valve needs to be added at the combination position), so it has the advantages of simple structure and low manufacturing cost. The exhaust port is arranged in the middle of the breathing tube body, so that the top of the breathing tube only needs to be responsible for the air intake function, and does not need to accommodate the exhaust mechanism, so the shape design of the top of the breathing tube can be more flexible and unrestricted.
