Abstract

技术领域
本发明大体上涉及用于形成及密封具有闭合件的容器的系统及方法。
背景技术
本公开大体上涉及容器及密封此类容器的方法。纸基或复合材料容器通常用于零食及类似产品。此类容器通常具有密封到容器的顶部边沿的可剥离/可移除的膜、覆盖所述膜的可移除/可替换的外盖或端盖及卷封到容器的底部边沿的金属闭合件。通常,膜首先密封到顶部边沿。接着通过容器的敞开底端用产品填充容器,并将金属闭合件卷封到容器的底部边沿上。
使用金属底端的上述工艺干扰容器的可回收性,因为将金属闭合件卷封到容器的底部使得在使用后将金属闭合件与容器本身分离变得非常困难。在没有将容器的纸基主体与金属底部分离的能力的情况下,容器组合件无法进入纸或金属回收流。这可能导致不必要的浪费及负面的环境影响。存在对可回收容器的需求以便增加最终产品的可持续性。
对可回收性的需求的一个解决方案是产生具有纸基端闭合件而不是金属端的容器。然而,用于将金属端卷封到容器的现有设备是专门为金属端构建的,并且简单地将金属闭合件替换为纸基端闭合件与当前的金属端卷封工艺不兼容,因为纸基端闭合件引入金属端中不存在的独特挑战(例如,闭合件的柔性、将闭合件从闭合件堆叠分离、馈送闭合件、折叠闭合件、熔合非金属闭合件)。通过独创性及努力工作,发明人不仅开发了用于将纸基端闭合件应用于容器的系统及方法,而且还开发了以高速(例如,每分钟超过250个容器)操作的系统及方法。
发明内容
在实施例中,本发明包括用于将底部密封到容器上的密封工具套件,所述密封工具套件具有集成的受控顶出器,所述顶出器用于从容器底部缩回心轴(即在出料工艺期间)。在特定实施例中,本发明包括一种用于将闭合件气密密封到容器的方法及密封系统,所述密封系统包括:模具组合件,其包括:模具,其具有经配置以保持盘的定位部分及邻近所述定位部分的模具开口;及至少一个密封部件,其经配置以提供热以将所述盘密封到所述容器;以及心轴组合件,其包括:外心轴,其包括延伸部分,所述延伸部分经调整尺寸以装配在所述定位部分的内圆周内;内心轴,其经配置以平移穿过所述外心轴的所述延伸部分的内圆周及所述模具开口;及顶出器,其经安置在所述内心轴的内圆周内,其中至少所述外心轴经配置以在第一时间段内平移第一距离,其中所述内心轴及所述顶出器经配置以在第二时间段内平移第二距离,其中所述内心轴经配置以在第三时间段内缩回第三距离,其中所述顶出器经配置以在第四时间段内缩回所述第三距离,其中所述第一距离、所述第二距离及所述第三距离中的每一者彼此不同。在实施例中,所述外心轴、所述内心轴及所述顶出器彼此平行地延伸、平移及缩回。在实施例中,所述外心轴垂直地延伸及缩回,所述内心轴垂直地平移及缩回,且所述顶出器垂直地平移及缩回。

在实施例中,本发明包括一种用于制造用于易腐产品的高阻隔性包装的装置及方法,例如用于包装湿度及氧敏感固体食品的气密闭合容器。根据本文描述的装置及方法产生的容器能够在被填充及闭合时维持各种大气条件。更具体地说,气密闭合容器可适合于维持松脆食品的新鲜度,例如,举例来说,薯片、经加工马铃薯零食、坚果及类似者。如本文所使用的,术语“气密”是指用例如,举例来说,密封件、表面或容器的阻隔物维持含氧(O2)量的性质。
在实施例中,本文描述的系统及方法可产生具有全纸、纸基或复合材料底部的气密密封容器(不过本文描述的方法不应如此限制,可适用于聚合物、金属或所属领域已知的其它类型的底部),其经成形及/或密封(例如,经由经加热冲压工具),而不会导致阻隔层、闭合容器及/或底部的针孔、褶皱、切口或开裂。因此,当在暴露于湿度或氧气时可变质的固体松脆食品被密封在较低概率具有针孔、褶皱、切口或失败的气密闭合容器内时,可降低产品变质的概率。因此,此类气密密封容器可能够围封大体上稳定的环境(即氧气、湿度及/或压力),而不会鼓起及/或泄漏。
此外,此类气密密封容器可经由例如海运、空运或铁路在世界范围内运输。因此,容器可经受变化的大气条件(例如,由温度变化、湿度变化及海拔变化引起)。例如,此类条件可导致气密闭合容器的内部与外部之间的显著压力差。此外,大气条件可在相对高值与相对低值之间循环,这可加剧现有的制造缺陷。具体地说,气密闭合容器可经受导致缺陷生长的应变,即,例如由制造工艺产生的针孔、褶皱、切口或裂纹的尺寸可增加。本文描述的用于产生气密密封容器的系统及方法可提供可在广泛不同的气候条件(即,温度、湿度及/或压力)下运输及/或储存而没有缺陷生长的容器。
此外,本文描述的系统及方法可产生具有足够刚性以在经受变化的大气条件时抵抗变形的气密密封容器。具体地说,当含有高内部压力的气密闭合容器经受相对高海拔(例如,海平面以上约1,524米、海平面以上约3,048米、或海平面以上约4,572米)的环境条件时,气密闭合容器的内部与外部之间的压差可在气密闭合容器上施加力(例如,作用以使气密闭合容器鼓出)。取决于气密闭合容器的形状,任何鼓起都可导致气密闭合容器变形,这可导致货架上的不稳定行为(例如,摇晃及摇摆),并且可对购买行为产生负面影响。在本文阐述的实施例中,本文描述的气密闭合容器可由具有足够强度、表面摩擦及热稳定性的材料形成,以用于快速制造(即,高循环输出机器类型及/或生产线)。
如所述,使用本文描述的系统及方法产生的气密密封容器可包含纸基复合材料底部。类似地,容器主体可包括纸基复合材料,从而允许整个容器在单一流中被回收(例如,与具有金属底部的类似容器相反)。本发明的底部及/或容器主体可包括所属领域中已知的任何纸,例如,举例来说,纤维基及/或可制浆材料,例如硬纸板、纸板、杯用纸板原料、纸杯纸、石印纸,或甚至模制纤维。在一些实施例中,本发明的底部及/或容器主体可为100%纸。在一些实施例中,容器组合件可为约90质量%或更大的纸含量。在一些实施例中,容器组合件可为约95质量%或更大的纸含量。这些纸含量百分比可有利地在某些国家将容器组合件限定为单一材料,从而允许其在全球大多数国家的回收流中被接受。在一些实施例中,术语“单一材料”包含可被收集并进入废物管理流程以从残留物获得用于不同应用的原材料的任何材料。在其它实施例中,本发明的底部及/或容器主体可为复合材料。
密封系统
参考图1到11,本文描述的容器可使用以下密封系统100及/或根据以下方法形成。在一个实施例中,纸基底部可作为片或盘开始。虽然本文讨论的纸底部被称为圆形或盘,但本发明不应如此限制。纸底部可包括所属领域已知的任何形状,并且可与容器的形状相关。例如,如果容器具有正方形、矩形、三角形或不规则的横截面,那么纸底部可具有相关的形状(正方形、矩形、三角形或不规则)。
例如,复合材料片或纸基盘50可经由协作操作的心轴组合件200、模具组合件300及容器支撑组合件(未展示)成形为符合复合材料容器主体60。心轴组合件200可用于冲压或压制纸基盘50以将其形成为复合材料底部51(如图10到11所展示)。
心轴组合件200可包含外心轴210(归因于其将盘50向下抵靠模具组合件300固持的目的,有时被称为“向下固持器”)及内心轴220(归因于其将盘50冲拉到容器60中并将盘50抵靠容器60的侧壁密封的目的,有时称为“密封冲头”)。外心轴210及内心轴220可各自彼此独立地沿着Y轴移动。内心轴220可相对于外心轴210平移,以将纸基盘50形成为底部闭合件51。此外,模具组合件300可与心轴组合件200协作,以将纸基盘50成形为底部闭合件51,同时或几乎同时将闭合件51插入复合材料主体60的底端62中。模具组合件300通常可包括具有顶部表面97、定位部分90、模具开口98及密封部件40(也称为模具衬环)的模具80。管组合件可经配置以相对于心轴组合件200及模具组合件300保持及移动复合材料主体60。例如,管组合件可横向移动复合材料主体以使容器主体60的轴与心轴组合件200及模具组合件300的轴对准及/或沿心轴组合件200及模具组合件300的轴垂直移动。
在实施例中,至少在本文描述的方法期间,心轴组合件200、模具组合件300及容器支撑组合件可沿着Y轴对准,使得纸基盘50可由内心轴220推动穿过模具开口98,并插入由管支撑部件固持的复合材料主体60的底端62中。
模具组合件
模具组合件300可经配置以在盘50穿过模具开口98插入且插入到容器主体60中之前接收及保持纸基盘50。在一些实施例中,盘50从单独的盘馈送组合件(未展示)接收。在实施例中,模具组合件300可经配置以与馈送组合件配合或以其它方式对准。例如,模具80可在其上端上包括凹口、脊或其它对准特征302(见图27),其允许模具80与馈送组合件的对应机械元件配合、对准或接收所述对应机械元件。这允许盘50在模具80内的适当放置。
更具体地说,模具组合件300可包括具有定位部分90(即夹头座)的模具80(即模具衬环),所述定位部分90经配置以在将盘50形成为凹入端51之前在模具80内接纳及对准纸基盘50。定位部分90可邻近模具开口98安置,以便将纸基盘50与模具开口98对准。
定位部分90可包括倾斜表面96,所述倾斜表面96将模具80的顶部表面97连接到定位部分90的侧壁94。倾斜表面96可朝向模具开口98及模具组合件300的轴向下倾斜。在实施例中,倾斜表面96可允许盘50被导引到定位部分90中。
在实施例中,定位部分90的侧壁94可为垂直的或大体上垂直的。在实施例中,定位部分90的侧壁94可长于盘50的厚度。在实施例中,定位部分90的侧壁94的外径可大体上类似于盘50的直径。在另一实施例中,定位部分90的侧壁94的外径可略大于盘50的直径。
在实施例中,定位部分90的倾斜表面96可具有最靠近模具80的顶部表面97的较大周长及最靠近侧壁94的较小周长。在一些实施例中,定位部分90的倾斜表面96的外边缘的圆周可大于纸基盘50。倾斜表面96可向下逐渐变细,以允许重力辅助将纸基盘50在定位部分90内对准。一旦安放,纸基盘50便可邻近定位部分90的盘支撑表面92及侧壁94定位。在实施例中,定位部分90的盘支撑表面92及侧壁94以90度角或大体上90度角连接。在实施例中,盘支撑表面92可为水平的或大体上水平的。在实施例中,安放盘50经定位使得其下表面54(见图2)邻近盘支撑表面92(即安放在其顶部)。在实施例中,安放盘50经定位使得其厚度邻近定位部分90的侧壁94。
在实施例中,盘支撑表面92的内圆周小于盘50的圆周。在实施例中,盘支撑表面92的内圆周邻近模具开口98。在实施例中,盘支撑表面92经安置为邻近模具开口内表面99。在实施例中,模具开口内表面99可为垂直的或大体上垂直的。在实施例中,盘支撑表面92经安置为与模具开口内表面99成直角或几乎成直角。
在使用中,盘50被插入到模具组合件300中,定位在定位部分90内,并安放于盘支撑表面92上。在实施例中,可从下面向纸基盘50施加真空压力,以将其在模具80的定位部分90内对准。
虽然模具开口98被描绘为具有大体上圆形的横截面,但是模具开口98可具有大体上圆形、三角形、矩形、四边形、五边形、六边形或椭圆形的横截面。在实施例中,模具开口98可经配置以接纳内心轴220,如下所述。在实施例中,模具开口98可具有与内心轴220的横截面大体上相似的横截面。
心轴组合件
如上所述,心轴组合件200可包括内心轴220及外心轴210。内心轴220及外心轴210可彼此分开地平移。在实施例中,内心轴220及外心轴210相互平行地平移,其可为垂直的,但未必是垂直的。例如,所述系统可提供水平或成角度平移的内心轴220及外心轴210。
在实施例中,内心轴220可移动第一距离,且外心轴210可移动第二距离,其中第一及第二距离彼此不同。类似地,内心轴220可在第一时间移动,且外心轴210可在第二时间移动,其中第一及第二时间彼此不同。在实施例中,内心轴220及外心轴210可在第一时间段期间一致地移动。在实施例中,内心轴220可具有第一延伸长度,且外心轴210可具有第二延伸长度,其中第一及第二延伸长度彼此不同。在实施例中,外心轴210可与内心轴210及顶出器30两者一致地移动,直到心轴组合件200接触模具组合件300为止。在实施例中,外心轴210、内心轴210及顶出器30中的每一者可同时接触模具组合件300。
在实施例中,外心轴210可大体上为圆柱形。在此实施例中,容器可为圆柱形的。然而,如果容器不是圆柱形的(即正方形、三角形、矩形、不规则等横截面),那么外心轴210可具有与容器的形状及配置相关的形状及配置。
在另一实施例中,外心轴210可包括垂直延伸(即向下)的部分212及径向向外指向的凸缘214。在一些实施例中,凸缘214可不存在(参见图19)。在实施例中,垂直延伸部分212可为穿孔的及/或可具有安置在其中的贯穿孔216。在实施例中,垂直延伸部分212及径向向外指向的凸缘214可以直角或几乎直角结合。
在实施例中,外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212可经调整尺寸以装配在定位部分90的圆周内。在实施例中,外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212具有比模具开口98更大的圆周,使得外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212无法延伸到模具开口中。更具体地说,外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212可经调整尺寸及/或配置使得当完全延伸时,其经安置为邻近定位部分90的定位部分侧壁94及盘支撑表面92。在实施例中,外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212可在盘50安放在定位部分90内之后延伸,并且可经配置以将盘50紧固在适当位置中(见图4)。
如图12所展示,内心轴220可大体为圆柱形。如上关于外心轴所述,内心轴220可经成形及配置以与容器的形状及配置相关。例如,如果容器具有正方形横截面,那么内心轴220可具有正方形形状及配置。
在实施例中,内心轴220可经调整尺寸以装配在外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212的内圆周内。在实施例中,内心轴220可经配置以比外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212更低地垂直延伸。在此实施例中,一旦盘50安放于定位部分90内并被外心轴210的完全延伸的垂直延伸部分212约束,内心轴220便可继续垂直向下移动,延伸超过外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212的基底,并将盘50推动(pushing/urging)到容器60的敞开端62中(见图6)。
内心轴220可包括邻近第二心轴表面224的第一心轴表面222,其一起经配置以插入纸基盘50并使其成形(见图12)。在实施例中,第一心轴表面222可以约92°与约94°之间的角度结合第二心轴表面224。在实施例中,第一心轴表面222可为水平的或大体上水平的,并且当完全延伸时,可经安置为邻近盘50的顶部表面。在实施例中,第二心轴表面224可为垂直的或大体上垂直的,并且可经配置以当内心轴220穿过外心轴210时邻近外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212的内表面。即,第二心轴表面224的圆周可小于外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212的内圆周。在实施例中,第二心轴表面224平行于外心轴210的垂直延伸部分212的内表面。
应当注意,虽然第一心轴表面222及第二心轴表面224在附图中被描绘为大体上平坦(水平及垂直),但是第一心轴表面222及第二心轴表面224可为弯曲的、轮廓化的或成形的。内心轴220可进一步包括安置在第一心轴表面222与第二心轴表面224之间的成形部分。成形部分可为弯曲的、倒角的或包括任何其它轮廓。应当注意,尽管内心轴220被描绘为具有大体上圆形横截面,但是内心轴220可具有大体上圆形、三角形、矩形、四边形、五边形、六边形或椭圆形的横截面。
当内心轴220将盘50推入容器60中时(见图5到6),盘从外心轴210与模具组合件300的定位部分90之间释放。盘50的中心部分56可穿过模具开口98被向下推入容器60的敞开端62,使得中心部分56(第一变形表面53)保持平坦或大体上平坦(即水平)。在实施例中,在将盘50插入容器60期间,盘50的外周部分58可以直角或接近直角弯曲,展示为图11中的第二变形表面55。在此实施例中,盘50的外周部分58(成为第二变形表面55)可被压迫为邻近第二心轴表面224,从而穿过模具开口98。盘50的所得第二变形表面55(先前的外周部分58)可垂直地或几乎垂直地安置在敞开端62处,邻近容器60的内侧壁66。
盘50可被推入容器60中达所属领域中将实用的任何距离。在实施例中,盘50变成凹入的复合材料底部51(图11)。在实施例中,盘50的外周边缘57与容器60的侧壁的边缘齐平。在另一实施例中,盘50的外周边缘57相对于容器60安置在容器60的侧壁的边缘的内侧。在实施例中,第一变形表面53及第二变形表面55在容器主体60内以直角或接近直角结合。
在实施例中,心轴加热器在实施例中可经配置以加热内心轴220的第一心轴表面222及/或第二心轴表面224。在实施例中,心轴加热器可安置在内心轴220内。在实施例中,内心轴220可进一步包括由经配置以减轻热传递的隔热材料形成的绝缘部分。
密封部件
(若干)密封部件40可经配置以为热密封提供热及压力。(若干)密封部件40可定位在密封位置(图1到6)与敞开位置(图7到11)之间。当处于密封位置时,(若干)密封部件40与容器60的外表面64接触,且当处于敞开位置时,(若干)密封部件40不与容器60接触。在实施例中,(若干)密封部件40包括分段式夹持支架(大体参见附图)。
在其它实施例中,密封部件包括非分段式夹持环(见图14到18)。图14说明具有非分段式夹持环的本发明系统,其中所述系统处于其初始状态。在图15中,系统移动到盘被夹持在适当位置的位置。在图16中,系统移动到密封位置中。图17说明当顶出器将纸底部支撑到适当位置时密封冲头的移除。最后,图18说明移动远离容器的顶出器。在此实施例中,密封部件可包括静态模具衬环。这种类型的密封部件在高度关注食品安全的即食食品加工设备中可特别有用。
在实施例,例如分段式夹持支架实施例中,(若干)密封部件40可旋转地耦合到模具组合件300。(若干)密封部件40可彼此互补地成形,使得当(若干)密封部件40处于密封位置时,密封部件大体上以类拼图方式围绕工件。在其它实施例中,密封部件40可包括单个整体部件(即,闭合环),当容器在适当位置时,所述单一整体部件围绕容器主体60。当将纸基盘50密封到复合材料主体60时,(若干)密封部件40可沿着外表面64的大体上完整的外周压缩复合材料主体10的底端62。当复合材料主体60具有大体上圆形横截面时,复合材料主体60的圆周可由(若干)密封部件40大体上均匀地压缩。在实施例中,存在三个密封部件40。在其它实施例中,存在一个密封部件40(即,非分段式夹持环)。然而,应当注意,可利用任何数量的密封部件40。例如,密封系统可包括从大约一个到大约十个密封部件40。此外,(若干)密封部件40可各自覆盖复合材料主体的大体上相等的段,或者可覆盖大体上不相等的段。
(若干)密封部件40可用于压缩及加热容器主体,以便执行热密封操作。每个密封部件40可向容器主体提供高达约300℃的传导加热。此外,(若干)密封部件40可向容器主体施加高达约30MPa的压力。密封部件40可彼此邻近。
当(若干)密封部件40接触容器主体60的外表面64时,容器主体60及复合材料闭合件51可被压缩在第二心轴表面224与(若干)密封部件40之间。在已经施加压缩及加热达足够的停留时间之后,(若干)密封部件40可远离容器主体60的底端62移动,使得(若干)密封部件40在停留时间期满之后不与容器主体60接触(图7)。
顶出器
一旦密封过程完成,在实施例中,心轴组合件200便从容器主体60移除。在实施例中,在内心轴220移动之前,外心轴210释放并平移远离模具组合件300。在其它实施例中,外心轴210及内心轴220同时释放并平移远离模具组合件300。
在实施例中,顶出器30经安置在内心轴220的内部,以帮助从容器60移除心轴组合件200。在实施例中,顶出器30可为弹簧加载的。在其它实施例中,顶出器30可为非弹簧加载的。在一些实施例中,内心轴220可为弹簧加载的,或可为非弹簧加载的。在另一实施例中,外心轴210可为弹簧加载的,或可为非弹簧加载的。在特定实施例中,仅外心轴210是弹簧加载的。
顶出器30可在其下端32上具有小于内心轴220的圆周的圆周。在这方面,顶出器30可在其缩回位置装配在内心轴220的内圆周内(例如,图12所展示)。在实施例中,顶出器30的基底可包括圆柱锥。在此实施例中,内心轴220的内部可包括圆柱锥形的凹槽,使得顶出器30可装配到内心轴220中。在实施例中,顶出器30可为穿孔的及/或可具有安置在其中的贯穿孔,如图20及28所展示。
在另一实施例中,顶出器30的基底可包括多个盘接触区段,每个盘接触区段接触底部闭合件51,但彼此分离。例如,顶出器可包括三个或四个尖头,所述尖头在与闭合件51的接触表面处变平,以避免损坏闭合件51。

在一个实施例中,当顶出器30处于其凹入位置(例如在图12中展示)时,顶出器30的底部表面34可与内心轴220的第一(下)表面222齐平。在另一实施例中,顶出器30可在内心轴220内稍微凹入,使得当顶出器处于其凹入位置时,顶出器30的底部表面34高于内心轴220的第一(下)表面222。
在实施例中,顶出器30及内心轴220(及/或外心轴210)可各自以平行方式平移,任选地垂直平移,但彼此分开。即,内心轴220可移动第一距离,且顶出器30可移动第二距离,其中第一及第二距离彼此不同。类似地,内心轴220可在第一时间移动,且顶出器30可在第二时间移动,其中第一及第二时间彼此不同。在实施例中,内心轴220及顶出器30可在第一时间段期间一致地移动。在实施例中,内心轴220可具有第一延伸长度,且顶出器30可具有第二延伸长度,其中第一及第二延伸长度彼此不同。
在特定实施例中,内心轴220(及/或外心轴210)最初从容器60垂直缩回,而顶出器30保持邻近复合材料闭合件51定位(图8及13所展示),从而将纸基闭合件51的位置保持在容器60内。在此实施例中,可在顶出器30的下端32的外圆周与闭合件51的变形部分55之间安置空间。此位置(图8及13)可被称为顶出器30的延伸位置。在此实施例中,一旦内心轴220缩回超过容器60的外周边缘,在实施例中,顶出器30便接着垂直向上缩回,回到内心轴220的内部。
在另一实施例中(见图28E),在密封过程完成之后,顶出器30可比其在密封过程期间所延伸进一步向下延伸,以便帮助从模具组合件300移除容器60。即,顶出器30可经由闭合件51上的压力向下推动容器60。替代地,顶出器30可不向闭合件51增加压力,但可与容器组合件的移动有关地随容器60及闭合件51向下平移。在此实施例中,顶出器30接着可从与闭合件51的接触中缩回,并且缩回到心轴组合件200中。
在实施例中,顶出器30包括用于在顶出器30从闭合件51缩回的同时或紧随之前递送经引导朝向闭合件51的受控喷气的构件。在实施例中,加压空气的递送可包括安置在顶出器30内的喷头机构。在实施例中,心轴组合件200包括顶出器耦合件201及心轴或密封头耦合件202(见图19)。
本发明的顶出器30避免由标准心轴缩回过程引起的问题。即,标准心轴缩回涉及将心轴拖出容器(或反之亦然),从而导致心轴与纸基闭合件之间的摩擦。当心轴及容器分离时,纸基闭合件的任何相对移动可导致在密封件中形成折叠、褶皱及/或气泡,从而降低或破坏容器的气密性。本发明的顶出器30允许在移除心轴的过程期间(即在出料期间)稳定纸基闭合件在容器主体内的位置。在纸底部密封过程的整个循环内,顶出器30有助于确保闭合件51与容器60之间的密封的气密性。
在内心轴220及顶出器30两者缩回之后,容器可任选地以垂直向下的方式从模具组合件300及心轴组合件200移除(图10)。在实施例中,内心轴220及外心轴210接着可任选地以整体方式从模具组合件300完全垂直向上缩回(图11)。在实施例中,心轴组合件200及模具组合件300接着经定位用于另一插入、底部闭合件形成及密封过程。
容器支撑组合件
容器支撑组合件可经配置以收回及/或保持复合材料主体60并将复合材料主体60固持在期望位置。容器支撑组合件可包括管支撑部件,所述管支撑部件经成形以接纳复合材料主体60。在实施例中,管支撑部件可垂直向上提升容器60,以与模具组合件300及心轴组合件200相遇。
在实施例中,容器60将通过向上提升而插入模具组合件中,并且将通过将容器60的边沿或边缘与模具开口98的下表面接触而固定在模具组合件中的垂直位置(参见图2到3)。当内心轴220移入及移出容器组合件时,容器60将处于固定位置以避免容器60的相对垂直移动。
闭合件
如图2所展示,在实施例中,纸基盘50可具有界定片厚度的上表面52及下表面54。在实施例中,纸基盘50可包括分层结构,即纤维层、氧阻隔层及密封剂层。纸基盘50可包括中心部分56及外周部分58。在实施例中,中心部分56及外周部分58可为大体上平坦的。例如,纸基盘50可经切割或成形为圆形盘。在其它实例中,纸基盘50可经切割或形成为拱形盘(未描绘),使得中心部分56沿着Y轴从外周部分58偏移。
在形成之后,纸基盘50变成底部闭合件51(图11)。底部闭合件51可具有第一变形表面53及第二变形表面53。在实施例中,第一变形表面53可为大体上水平的。在实施例中,第一变形表面53包括纸基盘的中心部分56。在另一实施例中,第二变形表面55可为大体上垂直的及/或可包括纸基盘的外周部分58。在实施例中,第一变形表面53可邻近容器60的内腔,且第二变形表面55可邻近容器60侧壁的内表面66。
方法
在使用中,密封系统100接纳盘50并将盘50安放在模具组合件300的定位部分90内,任选地使用真空压力来适当地安放盘。在实施例中,容器60接着经由提升板朝向模具组合件300提升,直到容器60的外周边缘接触模具80的下表面。在此实施例中,容器内侧壁66可与模具开口98齐平。在实施例中,外心轴210接着朝向盘50垂直向下平移,直到外心轴210接触盘50的外周部分58,从而将其保持在适当位置。外心轴210向下的移动可与内心轴220及顶出器30的移动一致地(即以整体移动)发生。
一旦外心轴210邻近盘50安放在盘支撑表面92的顶部,内心轴220及顶出器便可继续朝向盘50垂直向下平移。接着,内心轴220及顶出器可接触盘50,并向下推动盘50穿过模具开口98,直到盘50变得变形,使得其具有平坦的中心部分及邻近容器60的内侧壁66的变形侧壁55。在一个实施例中,可通过内心轴220的第一心轴表面222及/或第二心轴表面224(例如,通过沿Y方向致动内心轴220)向盘施加压力。
接着,复合材料闭合件51可气密密封到容器主体60。具体地说,压缩及热可经施加到复合材料闭合件51及/或容器主体60,使得其相应的密封剂层形成气密密封。在实施例中,至少经由(若干)密封部件40提供热。类似地,(若干)密封部件40及内心轴220的第二心轴表面224可向容器60的外表面64及/或闭合件51的变形侧壁55提供相反的压力。
根据本公开,气密密封件可在大于约90℃,例如,举例来说,120℃到约280℃或约140℃到约260℃的温度下通过密封部件40形成。可通过保持(若干)密封部件40与复合材料主体60的底端62接触达足以将密封剂层加热到适合形成气密密封的温度的任何停留时间(例如,举例来说,小于约5秒、从约0.8秒到约5.0秒或从约1秒到约4秒)而形成合适的气密密封。底部闭合件51及复合材料主体60的底端62可在密封部件40与内心轴220之间以小于约30MPa的任何压力(例如从约1MPa到约22MPa的压力)压缩。
在已经施加压缩及/或热达足够的停留时间之后,密封部件40可远离容器60的底端62移动,使得密封部件40在停留时间期满之后不与复合材料主体10接触(图7)。接着,内心轴220可从闭合件51缩回,而顶出器30保持在适当位置。一旦内心轴220至少越过容器60的外周边缘,顶出器30便接着缩回,任选地伴随着加压喷气以帮助平顺的缩回过程。接着,顶出器30完全缩回内心轴220的内部中。接着,在心轴组合件200从模具组合件300完全缩回之前、期间或之后,容器60移动远离模具组合件300及心轴组合件200。
在某些实施例中,多个复合材料容器可由适于以同步方式处理多个纸基盘、底部闭合件及复合材料容器的系统或装置形成。例如,制造系统可包含以协调方式操作的多个心轴组合件、多个模具组合件及多个管支撑组合件。具体地说,具有多个子组合件的塔式(turreted)装置可同时或同步地接纳盘并处理盘,其中每个子组合件包括心轴组合件、模具组合件及管组合件。取决于塔式装置的复杂性,可以协调的方式每循环制造数百个单独的复合材料容器。因此,本文描述的任何过程可同时执行。例如,当每个子组合件以同步方式操作时,可同时执行以下中的每一者:可将第一纸基盘定位在模具开口上方;可将第二纸基盘约束在心轴组合件与模具组合件之间;可使第三纸基盘经由插入到第一复合材料主体中而形成为第一底部闭合件;并且可将第三底部闭合件气密密封到第二复合材料主体。替代地,本文描述的操作中的任一者可例如通过具有多个子组合件的装置同时执行。
在实施例中,本发明的系统及方法允许密封系统以高速(例如,超过每分钟300个容器)操作。在另一实施例中,本发明的系统及方法允许密封系统以每分钟至少400个容器的速度操作。在又一实施例中,本发明的系统及方法允许密封系统以每分钟至少500个容器的速度操作。
应当理解,本公开提供用于包装湿度敏感及/或氧敏感固体食品(例如,举例来说,松脆的碳水化合物基食品、盐腌食品、松脆食品、薯片、经加工马铃薯零食、坚果及类似者)的气密闭合容器。此类气密闭合容器可在高及低温、高及低湿度以及高及低压的广泛变化的气候条件下提供气密闭合。此外,气密闭合容器可根据本文所述的方法经由涉及具有相对低环境污染的传导加热技术的工艺来制造。本文描述的气密闭合容器可在低重量下具有高结构稳定性,并且适合于回收。
实例
在下面的实例中,测试本发明的纸底部容器(复合材料容器、纸底部、膜盖及外盖)的各种特性。被测试容器的纸底部包括作为纸层(195g/m2(0.3mm厚度))的柔性板(即纸杯纸板)、连结层、作为阻隔层的铝箔(8μm)及作为密封剂层的离聚物层(32g/m2)。在一些容器中,包含PET层以保护铝阻隔层。在其它实施例中,不包含铝阻隔层。所有版本都通过测试,如下所指示。
实例1
在高海拔测试中,将本发明容器放置于密封腔室中,并在大约10分钟的时段内将腔室内的压力增加到至少11inHg。如果容器可承受高达10inHg(模拟当容器穿越落基山脉时的大气压力)至少10分钟,那么容器通过测试。若否,则容器将被列为“未通过”。如本文所用,“观察到底部凸出”是指在真空腔室限制期间,膜及/或纸底部由于过压条件而拱起,这在此类条件下是正常的。在从容器移除后,拱起恢复到中立位。拱起可为膜或纸底部从容器的内部向外移动,使得其延伸超过容器的相关切割边缘。未通过或失败包含泄漏、剥落膜或纸底部、压力释放后保持扭曲、接缝裂开或分层、膜或纸底部爆裂及/或将阻止容器满足气密性标准的另一其它失败。如果膜或纸底部在压力释放时向内拱起至罐中,那么这可指示泄漏失败。测试结果如下陈述。

测试指示本文所述的纸底部的成功率为99.4%,这是可接受的。

测试指示,如本文所述,标准层压板的成功率为98%,且轻质纸底部的成功率为100%,这是可接受的。
实例2
在此实例中,本发明容器经历氦气泄漏测试。氦气可用作示踪气体来检测泄漏,因为它在大气中仅占约5ppm,所以背景水平非常低。氦气也具有相对较低的质量,使得它是可移动的,并且是完全惰性/非反应性的。将密封的本发明容器放置于密封真空腔室中,且接着用130mbar的氦气溢满真空腔室。嗅探器/检漏仪连接到容器,使得来自容器内的气体的样品可被抽出并通过质谱仪,以读取容器中的含氦量的背景读数的增加。在此实例中,氦气泄漏限制是2.3x10-4mbar*l/sec。观察到成功率为99.8%。这个结果是可接受的。

实例3.
在此实例中,本发明容器经历容器完整性测试。将容器放置于200mbar压力下的真空腔室中,并在20秒时段内测量真空衰减。所述方法使用压力变化测量来间接确定从容器进入固定容积腔室的流。质量提取变型测量将真空维持在固定水平所需的流(ASTM F2338及ASTM F 3287)。如果容器有泄漏,那么其将降低真空腔室内的预期真空。测量每秒真空下降或衰减。成功/失败阈值经设置为42Pa/s。观察到成功率为98.6%。这个结果是可接受的。

实例4.
在此实施例中,本发明容器经历容器周期性测试间隔(“PTI”)测试。将容器放置于700mbar压力下的真空腔室中,并在20秒时段内测量真空衰减。测量每秒真空下降或衰减。成功/失败阈值经设置为20Pa/s。观察到成功率为96%。这个结果是可接受的。

实例5.
在此实例中,发明人分析本发明容器的模拟保存期限。容器被填充、密封及储存,具有0.0%的残留含氧量。接着在6个月及9个月后测试容器的残留含氧量。在这些时间段内,成功/失败阈值经设置为小于或等于2.0%残留氧(在大约18个月后4.0%到4.5%的阈值可能是可接受的)。观察到成功率为92%。这个结果是可接纳的。

实例6.
在此实施例中,发明人使用本文描述的真空衰减方法比较具有本发明纸底部闭合件的容器及具有金属底部闭合件的容器的泄漏。罐的压降以Pa/s为单位进行测量。“蓝色”及“绿色”罐为纸底部容器,而“具有金属端的参考”包括金属底部容器。可见,与具有金属底端的容器相比,纸底部容器在真空衰减期间具有总体更小的压降。图29说明结果的曲线图。总体来说,本发明的纸底部在避免泄漏的一致性方面优于金属底部。
Claims (26)
1.一种用于将闭合件气密密封到容器的密封系统,其包括:
模具组合件,其包括:
模具,其具有经配置以保持盘的定位部分及邻近所述定位部分的模具开口;及
至少一个密封部件,其经配置以提供热以将所述盘密封到所述容器;以及
心轴组合件,其包括:
外心轴,其包括延伸部分,所述延伸部分经调整尺寸以装配在所述定位部分的内圆周内;
内心轴,其经配置以平移穿过所述外心轴的所述延伸部分的内圆周及所述模具开口;及
顶出器,其经安置在所述内心轴的内圆周内,
其中至少所述外心轴经配置以在第一时间段内平移第一距离,
其中所述内心轴及所述顶出器经配置以在第二时间段内平移第二距离,其中所述内心轴经配置以在第三时间段内缩回第三距离,
其中所述顶出器经配置以在第四时间段内缩回所述第三距离,且
其中所述第一距离、所述第二距离及所述第三距离中的每一者彼此不同。
2.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述闭合件是纸基的。
3.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述密封部件经配置以向所述容器的外表面提供压力。
4.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述密封部件经安置在所述模具下方。
5.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述外心轴的所述延伸部分具有比所述模具开口更大的圆周。
6.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述外心轴是弹簧加载的。

所述内心轴垂直平移;且
所述顶出器垂直平移。
14.一种用于将闭合件气密密封到容器的方法,其包括:
提供模具组合件,其包括:
模具,其具有经配置以保持盘的定位部分及邻近所述定位部分的模具开口;及
至少一个密封部件,其经配置以提供热以将所述盘密封到所述容器;以及
提供心轴组合件,其包括:
外心轴,其包括延伸部分,所述延伸部分经调整尺寸以装配在所述定位部分的内圆周内;
内心轴,其经配置以平移穿过所述外心轴的所述延伸部分的内圆周及所述模具开口;及
顶出器,其经安置在所述内心轴的内圆周内,
至少使所述外心轴在第一时间段内平移第一距离,
使所述内心轴及所述顶出器在第二时间段内平移第二距离,
使所述内心轴在第三时间段内缩回第三距离,
使所述顶出器在第四时间段内缩回所述第三距离,且
其中所述第一距离、所述第二距离及所述第三距离中的每一者彼此不同。
15.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中所述密封部件经配置以向所述容器的外表面提供压力。
16.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中所述外心轴的所述延伸部分具有比所述模具开口更大的圆周。
17.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中所述外心轴是弹簧加载的。
18.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中所述第一距离小于所述第二距离。
19.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中所述内心轴、所述外心轴及所述顶出器在所述第一时间段期间以整体方式平移。

24.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中所述外心轴、所述内心轴及所述顶出器彼此平行地延伸、平移及缩回。
25.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中:
所述外心轴垂直延伸;
所述内心轴垂直平移;且
所述顶出器垂直平移。
