In the embodiment of the application, each character to be combined and the corresponding target combined character obtained after combination are presented on a display interface in a control mode, each character control presented on the display interface is an independent and indistinct operable unit, and specifically, operations such as dragging, selecting, deleting, scaling, semantic searching (such as jumping to a network space to search for the semantic of a certain word or term) and the like can be executed on the display interface as required on the character control serving as the operable unit, and all contents (such as two woods in a 'forest' word) in the same character control are integrally involved in the operation on the character control.
As can be seen from the above solutions, in the method according to the embodiments of the present application, a plurality of characters to be combined on a display interface are determined according to operation information of a target operation, a combination instruction for the plurality of characters to be combined is obtained, a combination mode for the plurality of characters to be combined, which is matched with the combination instruction, is determined, and according to the combination mode, a combination process is performed on the plurality of characters to be combined on the display interface. Therefore, based on the scheme of the application, the plurality of characters to be combined are combined, and the requirements of processing different information contents in application scenes such as teaching or knowledge sharing can be met.
Optionally, in an embodiment, if the plurality of characters to be combined cannot be combined into the combined character with the actual semantics according to the combination direction specified in the combination manner, the combination direction is automatically adjusted to be other combination directions capable of forming the combined character with the actual semantics.
