Description
Technical Field
The present disclosure relates to electrical connectors, and particularly to a socket connector and a terminal.
Background
At present, electronic information products are lighter and thinner in size and need to meet the requirement of high transmission speed due to large information amount. In electronic information products, electrical connectors often play an important role in signal transmission. Because the volume of the electronic information product needs to be light and thin, the height of the electrical connector must be reduced to reduce the space occupied in the housing of the electronic information product.
There is still a need for an electrical connector that can be reduced in height, e.g., less than 5mm in height, and that can meet the electrical requirements for high speed transmission, e.g., 112GHz transmission speed.
Disclosure of Invention
Therefore, one of the objectives of the present invention is to provide a socket connector with a low height and capable of meeting the electrical requirements of high-speed transmission.
Therefore, another object of the present invention is to provide a terminal having a low height and capable of satisfying electrical requirements for high-speed transmission.
Thus, in some embodiments, the receptacle connector of the present invention includes an insulative housing and a plurality of terminals. The insulating housing has a plurality of terminal slots. The plurality of terminals are respectively arranged in the plurality of terminal grooves, and each terminal comprises a base section, two elastic arms and a welding section. The base section is provided with two end parts and a connecting part for connecting the two end parts, and the end parts and the connecting part define a gap together. The elastic arms are respectively bent upwards from the end parts and oppositely extend to the end parts which are abutted against each other and then bent and extend in a reverse oblique upwards direction, each elastic arm is provided with a bending part connected with the corresponding end part, a main body part extending from the bending part and a guide part extending from the main body part in a reverse folding manner, a pressurizing part is formed at the joint of the bending part and the main body part, and a contact part is formed at the joint of the main body part and the guide part. The welding section extends from the connecting part of the base section, is positioned in the gap and is separated from the end parts.
In some embodiments, the welding section extends downward from the connection portion.
In some embodiments, the end of the solder segment is covered by a solder ball.
The invention has at least the following effects: the socket connector can integrally meet the requirements of miniaturization and low height and can meet the electrical requirements of high-speed transmission (112 GHz).

Detailed Description
Referring to fig. 1 to 3, the socket connector of the present invention includes an insulative housing 1 and a plurality of terminals 2. The insulating housing 1 has a plurality of terminal grooves 11 for receiving the plurality of terminals 2, respectively.
Referring to fig. 4 to 6, each terminal 2 is disposed in one of the terminal slots 11 and includes a base section 21, two elastic arms 22 and a welding section 23.
The base section 21 has two ends 211 and a connecting portion 212 connecting the two ends 211, and the ends 211 and the connecting portion 212 together define a gap 213.
The elastic arms 22 are respectively bent upward from opposite sides of the end portions 211 and extend toward each other, and then bent and extend obliquely upward toward each other. Each elastic arm 22 has a bending portion 221 connected to the corresponding end portion 211, a main body portion 222 extending linearly from the bending portion 221, and a guiding portion 223 extending reversely from the main body portion 222, and a pressing portion 224 is formed at a connection portion of the bending portion 221 and the main body portion 222, and a contact portion 225 is formed at a connection portion of the main body portion 222 and the guiding portion 223. The contact portions 225 of the two resilient arms 22 abut against each other to have a pre-load force (pre-load force), so that when mating with terminals (not shown) of a mating connector, the contact portions 225 can clamp the mated terminals and generate a large positive contact force (normal force). In the present embodiment, the pressing portions 224 of the two elastic arms 22 are respectively formed by bending and recessing toward the inner sides, so that the pre-load force generated when the contact portions 225 abut against each other can be enhanced by the pressing portions 224.
The welding segment 23 extends from the connecting portion 212 of the base segment 21 and is located in the gap 213 and spaced apart from the end portions 211. In the present embodiment, the soldering section 23 is bent downward from the connecting portion 212, and the end of the soldering section 23 is covered by a solder ball S. By positioning the solder segment 23 in the gap 213 and spacing the ends 211, the stress of the solder segment 23 can be released to avoid the solder ball S from being broken.
In the present embodiment, the height of the plurality of terminals 2 is less than 2mm, and the overall height of the receptacle connector 100 is about 4.3 mm. By the structural design of the terminal 2, the socket connector 100 can meet the requirements of miniaturization and low height as a whole and meet the electrical requirements of high-speed transmission (112 GHz).
However, the above description is only an example of the present invention, and the scope of the present invention should not be limited thereby, and all the simple equivalent changes and modifications made according to the claims and the content of the specification should be included in the scope of the present invention.
