技术领域
本发明涉及树脂组合物、光纤的次级被覆材料、光纤以及光纤的制造方法。本专利申请要求基于2019年6月19日提出的日本专利申请第2019-113482号的优先权,并且援引了该日本专利申请所记载的全部记载内容。
背景技术
通常,光纤具有用于保护作为光传输体的玻璃纤维的被覆树脂层。被覆树脂层通常具备初级树脂层和次级树脂层。
为了减小对光纤施加侧压时发生的微小弯曲所引起的传输损耗的增加,要求光纤具有优异的侧压特性。例如,在专利文献1中,研究了通过使用含有以合成石英为原料的填料的紫外线固化型树脂组合物来形成次级树脂层,从而改善光纤的侧压特性。

[本发明实施方式的说明]
首先,列举本发明实施方式的内容并进行说明。本发明的一个方式涉及的树脂组合物是一种光纤被覆用的树脂组合物,包括:含有低聚物、单体以及光聚合引发剂的基础树脂;以及无机氧化物粒子,所述无机氧化物粒子包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群,利用X射线小角散射法测定所述体积平均粒径。上述树脂组合物优选用作光纤被覆用的紫外线固化性树脂组合物。
通过使用具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群作为无机氧化物粒子,能够得到可以实现次级树脂层所需要的高侧压特性、并且涂布性也优异的树脂组合物。另外,所得的光纤的耐油性提高。
在一个方式中,无机氧化物粒子可以为含有选自由二氧化硅、二氧化锆、氧化铝、氧化镁、氧化钛、氧化锡以及氧化锌构成的组中的至少1种的粒子。这些粒子在树脂组合物中的分散性优异、且容易调节杨氏模量。
在一个方式中,无机氧化物粒子可以为疏水性。导入了疏水性基团的无机氧化物粒子在树脂组合物中的分散性优异。
在一个方式中,无机氧化物粒子可以包含选自由体积平均粒径为5nm以上35nm以下的A粒子群、体积平均粒径为超过35nm且70nm以下的B粒子群、以及体积平均粒径为超过70nm且150nm以下的C粒子群构成的组中的至少2种。由此,能够得到可以更容易实现次级树脂层所需要的高侧压特性、并且涂布性更优异的树脂组合物。
本发明的一个方式涉及的光纤的次级被覆材料包含上述树脂组合物。通过使用上述树脂组合物形成次级树脂层,能够得到侧压特性优异的光纤。
本发明的一个方式涉及的光纤具备:含有芯部和包层的玻璃纤维、与玻璃纤维接触并被覆该玻璃纤维的初级树脂层、以及被覆初级树脂层的次级树脂层,次级树脂层由上述树脂组合物的固化产物构成。这样的光纤的侧压特性优异。
本发明的一个方式涉及的光纤具备:含有芯部和包层的玻璃纤维、与玻璃纤维接触并被覆该玻璃纤维的初级树脂层、以及被覆初级树脂层的次级树脂层,次级树脂层含有无机氧化物粒子,无机氧化物粒子包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群,利用X射线小角散射法测定体积平均粒径。这样的光纤的侧压特性优异。
本发明的一个方式涉及的光纤的制造方法包括:将上述树脂组合物涂布在由芯部和包层构成的玻璃纤维的外周的涂布工序;以及在涂布工序后通过照射紫外线使树脂组合物固化的固化工序。由此,能够制作出侧压特性优异的光纤。
[本发明实施方式的详细说明]
根据需要参照附图对本发明实施方式涉及的树脂组合物和光纤的具体例子进行说明。需要说明的是,本发明不限于这些示例,而是由权利要求书所表示,并且意图包括与权利要求书等同的意义和范围内的所有变化。在下述说明中,在附图的说明中相同的要素标注相同的符号,并且省略重复的说明。
<树脂组合物>
本实施方式涉及的树脂组合物包括:含有低聚物、单体以及光聚合引发剂的基础树脂;以及无机氧化物粒子。
(无机氧化物粒子)
作为无机氧化物粒子,没有特别地限定,但是从在树脂组合物中的分散性优异、并且容易调节杨氏模量的观点来看,该无机氧化物粒子优选为含有选自由二氧化硅(氧化硅)、二氧化锆(氧化锆)、氧化铝(alumina)、氧化镁(magnesia)、氧化钛(titania)、氧化锡以及氧化锌构成的组中的至少1种的粒子。从价格低廉、容易进行表面处理、具有紫外线透过性、容易对树脂层赋予适度的硬度等观点来看,更优选使用氧化硅粒子作为本实施方式涉及的无机氧化物粒子。
无机氧化物粒子优选为疏水性。具体而言,优选通过硅烷化合物对无机氧化物粒子的表面进行疏水处理。这里的疏水处理是指在无机氧化物粒子的表面导入疏水性的基团。导入了疏水性的基团的无机氧化物粒子在树脂组合物中的分散性优异。作为疏水性的基团,可以为(甲基)丙烯酰基、乙烯基等紫外线固化性的反应性基团;或者烃基(例如烷基)、芳基(例如苯基)等非反应性基团。在无机氧化物粒子具有反应性基团的情况下,容易形成杨氏模量高的树脂层。
作为具有反应性基团的硅烷化合物,例如可以列举出:3-甲基丙烯酰氧基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、3-丙烯酰氧基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、3-甲基丙烯酰氧基丙基三乙氧基硅烷、3-丙烯酰氧基丙基三乙氧基硅烷、8-甲基丙烯酰氧基辛基三甲氧基硅烷、8-丙烯酰氧基辛基三甲氧基硅烷、7-辛烯基三甲氧基硅烷、乙烯基三甲氧基硅烷以及乙烯基三乙氧基硅烷等硅烷化合物。
作为具有烷基的硅烷化合物,例如可以列举出:甲基三甲氧基硅烷、二甲基二甲氧基硅烷、乙基三甲氧基硅烷、丙基三甲氧基硅烷、丁基三甲氧基硅烷、戊基三甲氧基硅烷、己基三甲氧基硅烷、辛基三甲氧基硅烷、甲基三乙氧基硅烷、二甲基二乙氧基硅烷、乙基三乙氧基硅烷、丙基三乙氧基硅烷、丁基三乙氧基硅烷、戊基三乙氧基硅烷、己基三乙氧基硅烷以及辛基三乙氧基硅烷。
在将无机氧化物粒子添加至树脂组合物时可以分散在分散介质中。通过使用分散在分散介质中的无机氧化物粒子,可以使无机氧化物粒子均匀地分散在树脂组合物中,从而能够提高树脂组合物的保存稳定性。作为分散介质,只要其不妨碍树脂组合物的固化,则没有特别地限定。分散介质可以为反应性的,也可以为非反应性的。
作为反应性的分散介质,可以使用(甲基)丙烯酰基化合物、环氧化合物等单体。作为(甲基)丙烯酰基化合物,例如可以列举出:1,6-己二醇二(甲基)丙烯酸酯、EO改性双酚A二(甲基)丙烯酸酯、聚乙二醇二(甲基)丙烯酸酯、PO改性双酚A二(甲基)丙烯酸酯、聚丙二醇二(甲基)丙烯酸酯、聚四亚甲基二醇二(甲基)丙烯酸酯、2-羟基-3-苯氧基丙基丙烯酸酯、丙二醇二缩水甘油醚的(甲基)丙烯酸加成物、三丙二醇二缩水甘油醚的(甲基)丙烯酸加成物、以及丙三醇二缩水甘油醚的(甲基)丙烯酸加成物。作为分散介质,也可以使用后述单体中所示例的(甲基)丙烯酰基化合物。
作为非反应性的分散介质,可以使用甲基乙基酮(MEK)、甲基异丁基酮(MIBK)等酮类溶剂;甲醇(MeOH)、丙二醇单甲醚(PGME)等醇类溶剂;或者丙二醇单甲醚醋酸酯(PGMEA)等酯类溶剂。在使用非反应性的分散介质的情况下,在将基础树脂和分散在分散介质中的无机氧化物粒子混合后,可以除去分散介质的一部分,从而制备树脂组合物。
无机氧化物粒子包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群。与包含具有单一体积平均粒径的一种粒子群的树脂组合物相比,可以保持优异的涂布性、并且在固化后可实现高侧压特性和耐油性。无机氧化物粒子可以包含具有不同体积平均粒径的2种粒子群,也可以包含3种粒子群。但是,从包含多个粒子群的效果达到饱和、并且简化制造方法的观点来看,可以将该粒子群的种类设为4种以下。包含在各粒子群中的粒子的体积平均粒径可以通过利用X射线小角散射法对树脂组合物进行分析而测定。
无机氧化物粒子可以包含选自由体积平均粒径为5nm以上35nm以下的A粒子群、体积平均粒径为超过35nm且70nm以下的B粒子群、以及体积平均粒径为超过70nm且150nm以下的C粒子群构成的组中的至少2种。由此,更容易保持优异的涂布性、并且在固化后实现高侧压特性。从这个观点来看,A粒子群的体积平均粒径可以为10nm以上35nm以下、也可以为10nm以上30nm以下,另外,B粒子群的体积平均粒径可以为超过35nm且60nm以下、也可以为40nm以上60nm以下,C粒子群的体积平均粒径可以为80nm以上150nm以下、也可以为80nm以上140nm以下。
从容易获得因包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群而产生的效果的观点来看,以无机氧化物粒子的总质量为基准,各个粒子群的比例至少可以为5质量%以上、也可以为10质量%以上。
通过调整用作原料的无机氧化物粒子的平均粒径、该粒径的粒度分布、无机氧化物粒子的表面状态(表面的羟基量、官能团的种类等),可以改变树脂组合物中的无机氧化物粒子的体积平均粒径。
X射线小角散射法是对在散射角为5°以下的条件下所得的X射线散射强度进行分析,从而对散射体的形状、分布等定量化的方法。可以根据X射线的散射强度分布图来求出体积平均粒径。即,通过非线性最小二乘法进行拟合,使得所测定的X射线散射强度与根据由粒径和粒径分布的函数表示的理论式算出的X射线散射强度近似,从而求出体积平均粒径。
公知的是,通过对这样的X射线的散射强度分布图进行分析以求出微小散射体的粒度分布,作为该分析方法,例如可以使用Schmidt等人的公知的分析方法,例如I.S.Fedorova and P.Schmidt:J.Appl.Cryst.11,405,1978中所记载的方法。
以低聚物、单体以及无机氧化物粒子的总量为基准,无机氧化物粒子的含量优选为5质量%以上60质量%以下、也可以为5质量%以上50质量%以下、也可以为10质量%以上40质量%以下。当无机氧化物粒子的含量为5质量%以上时,容易形成侧压特性优异(杨氏模量优异)的树脂层。当无机氧化物粒子的含量为60质量%以下时,容易提高树脂组合物的涂布性,且可以形成强韧的树脂层。
(基础树脂)
本实施方式涉及的基础树脂含有:低聚物、单体以及光聚合引发剂。
低聚物优选含有氨基甲酸酯(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物。作为氨基甲酸酯(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物,可以使用由多元醇化合物、多异氰酸酯化合物以及含羟基的(甲基)丙烯酸酯化合物进行反应而得到的低聚物。这里,所谓(甲基)丙烯酸酯,指的是丙烯酸酯或与其相对应的甲基丙烯酸酯。这也同样地适用于(甲基)丙烯酸。
作为多元醇化合物,例如可以列举出:聚四亚甲基二醇、聚丙二醇以及双酚A-环氧乙烷加成二醇。作为多异氰酸酯化合物,例如可以列举出:2,4-甲苯二异氰酸酯、2,6-甲苯二异氰酸酯、异佛尔酮二异氰酸酯以及二环己基甲烷4,4’-二异氰酸酯。作为含羟基的(甲基)丙烯酸酯化合物,例如可以列举出:(甲基)丙烯酸2-羟乙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸2-羟丁酯、1,6-己二醇单(甲基)丙烯酸酯、季戊四醇三(甲基)丙烯酸酯、(甲基)丙烯酸2-羟丙酯以及三丙二醇二(甲基)丙烯酸酯。
从调节树脂层的杨氏模量的观点来看,多元醇化合物的数均分子量(Mn)可以为300以上3000以下。
作为合成氨基甲酸酯(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物时的催化剂,通常使用有机锡化合物。作为有机锡化合物,例如可以列举出:二月桂酸二丁基锡、二乙酸二丁基锡、马来酸二丁基锡、双(巯基乙酸2-乙基己酯)二丁基锡、双(巯基乙酸异辛酯)二丁基锡以及氧化二丁基锡。从易得性或催化性能的方面来看,优选使用二月桂酸二丁基锡或二乙酸二丁基锡作为催化剂。
在合成氨基甲酸酯(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物时也可以使用碳原子数为5以下的低级醇。作为低级醇,例如可以列举出:甲醇、乙醇、1-丙醇、2-丙醇、1-丁醇、2-丁醇、2-甲基-2-丙醇、1-戊醇、2-戊醇、3-戊醇、2-甲基-1-丁醇、3-甲基-1-丁醇、2-甲基-2-丁醇、3-甲基-2-丁醇以及2,2-二甲基-1-丙醇。
低聚物也可以进一步含有环氧(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物。作为环氧(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物,可以使用将具有(甲基)丙烯酰基的化合物与具有2个以上缩水甘油基的环氧树脂进行反应而得到的低聚物。
作为单体,可以使用具有1个可聚合基团的单官能单体、具有2个以上可聚合基团的多官能单体。单体也可以2种以上混合使用。

作为光聚合引发剂,可以从公知的自由基光聚合引发剂当中适当地选择并使用。作为光聚合引发剂,例如可以列举出:1-羟基环己基苯基酮(Omnirad 184,IGM Resins公司制)、2,2-二甲氧基-2-苯基苯乙酮、1-(4-异丙基苯基)-2-羟基-2-甲基丙烷-1-酮、双(2,6-二甲氧基苯甲酰基)-2,4,4-三甲基戊基氧化膦、2-甲基-1-[4-(甲硫基)苯基]-2-吗啉基-丙烷-1-酮(Omnirad 907,IGM Resins公司制)、2,4,6-三甲基苯甲酰基二苯基氧化膦(Omnirad TPO,IGM Resins公司制)以及双(2,4,6-三甲基苯甲酰基)苯基氧化膦(Omnirad819,IGM Resins公司制)。
树脂组合物也可以进一步含有硅烷偶联剂、流平剂、消泡剂、抗氧化剂、敏化剂等。
作为硅烷偶联剂,只要其不妨碍树脂组合物的固化,则没有特别地限定。作为硅烷偶联剂,例如可以列举出:硅酸四甲酯、硅酸四乙酯、巯基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、乙烯基三氯硅烷、乙烯基三乙氧基硅烷、乙烯基三(β-甲氧基-乙氧基)硅烷、β-(3,4-环氧环己基)-乙基三甲氧基硅烷、二甲氧基二甲基硅烷、二乙氧基二甲基硅烷、3-丙烯酰氧基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、γ-环氧丙氧基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、γ-环氧丙氧基丙基甲基二乙氧基硅烷、γ-甲基丙烯酰氧基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、N-(β-氨基乙基)-γ-氨基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、N-(β-氨基乙基)-γ-氨基丙基三甲基二甲氧基硅烷、N-苯基-γ-氨基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、γ-氯丙基三甲氧基硅烷、γ-巯基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、γ-氨基丙基三甲氧基硅烷、双-[3-(三乙氧基甲硅烷基)丙基]四硫化物、双-[3-(三乙氧基甲硅烷基)丙基]二硫化物、γ-三甲氧基甲硅烷基丙基二甲基硫代氨甲酰基四硫化物以及γ-三甲氧基甲硅烷基丙基苯并噻唑基四硫化物。
树脂组合物的粘度在45℃优选为300mPa·s以上3500mPa·s以下、更优选为300mPa·s以上2500mPa·s以下、进一步优选为300mPa·s以上2000mPa·s以下。树脂组合物的粘度过高时,涂布性降低,形成树脂层时的被覆直径不稳定,光纤容易发生断线。另一方面,当树脂组合物的粘度过低时,自对准力难以发挥作用,容易发生厚度偏差。
树脂组合物可以适用于光纤的次级被覆材料。通过将本实施方式涉及的树脂组合物用于次级树脂层,可以制作出侧压特性优异的光纤。
<光纤>
图1是表示本实施方式涉及的光纤的一个例子的示意性剖面图。光纤10具备:含有芯部11和包层12的玻璃纤维13,以及设置在玻璃纤维13的外周且含有初级树脂层14和次级树脂层15的被覆树脂层16。在该光纤10中,次级树脂层15由上述树脂组合物的固化产物构成。
包层12包围着芯部11。芯部11和包层12主要包含石英玻璃等玻璃,例如,芯部11可以使用添加有锗的石英玻璃或纯石英玻璃,包层12可以使用纯石英玻璃或添加有氟的石英玻璃。
在图1中,例如玻璃纤维13的外径(D2)为100μm以上125μm以下左右,构成玻璃纤维13的芯部11的直径(D1)为7μm以上15μm以下左右。被覆树脂层16的厚度通常为22μm以上70μm以下左右。初级树脂层14和次级树脂层15的各层的厚度可以为5μm以上50μm以下左右。
在玻璃纤维13的外径(D2)为125μm左右、且被覆树脂层16的厚度为60μm以上70μm以下的情况下,初级树脂层14和次级树脂层15的各层的厚度可以为10μm以上50μm以下左右,例如,初级树脂层14的厚度可以为35μm,次级树脂层15的厚度可以为25μm。光纤10的外径可以为245μm以上265μm以下左右。
在玻璃纤维13的外径(D2)为125μm左右、且被覆树脂层16的厚度为27μm以上48μm以下的情况下,初级树脂层14和次级树脂层15的各层的厚度可以为10μm以上38μm以下左右,例如,初级树脂层14的厚度可以为25μm,次级树脂层15的厚度可以为10μm。光纤10的外径可以为179μm以上221μm以下左右。
在玻璃纤维13的外径(D2)为100μm左右、且被覆树脂层16的厚度为22μm以上37μm以下的情况下,初级树脂层14和次级树脂层15的各层的厚度可以为5μm以上32μm以下左右,例如,初级树脂层14的厚度可以为25μm,次级树脂层15的厚度可以为10μm。光纤10的外径可以为144μm以上174μm以下左右。
本实施方式涉及的树脂组合物可以适用于次级树脂层。次级树脂层可以通过使包含上述无机氧化物粒子和基础树脂的树脂组合物固化来形成。由此,能够提高光纤的侧压特性。
本实施方式涉及的光纤的制造方法包括:将上述树脂组合物涂布在由芯部和包层构成的玻璃纤维的外周的涂布工序;以及在涂布工序后通过照射紫外线使树脂组合物固化的固化工序。
次级树脂层的杨氏模量在23℃优选为1300MPa以上、更优选为1300MPa以上3600MPa以下、进一步优选为1400MPa以上3000MPa以下。当次级树脂层的杨氏模量为1300MPa以上时,容易提高侧压特性,当其为3600MPa以下时,能够对次级树脂层赋予适度的韧性,因而在次级树脂层中难以产生裂纹等。
需要说明的是,有时将多条光纤并列,并采用带用树脂一体化而成为光纤带,在这种情况下本发明的树脂组合物也可以用作带用树脂。由此,与光纤同样地,能够得到可提高光纤带的侧压特性同时涂布性也优异的带用树脂。
分散在分散介质中的无机氧化物粒子在树脂层固化后依然以分散的状态存在于树脂层中。在使用反应性的分散介质的情况下,无机氧化物粒子与分散介质一起混合在树脂组合物中,并且在保持分散状态的情况下进入到树脂层中。在使用非反应性的分散介质的情况下,分散介质的至少一部分从树脂组合物中挥发并消失,但是无机氧化物粒子依然以分散状态残留在树脂组合物中,并以分散的状态存在于固化后的树脂层中。在利用电子显微镜进行观察的情况下,存在于树脂层中的无机氧化物粒子以一次粒子分散的状态被观察到。因此,即使在利用X射线小角散射法对固化后的树脂层(例如次级树脂层)进行分析的情况下,与树脂组合物的情况同样地,也观察到无机氧化物粒子包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群。即,本实施方式涉及的光纤是这样一种光纤,其具备:含有芯部和包层的玻璃纤维、与玻璃纤维接触并被覆该玻璃纤维的初级树脂层、以及被覆初级树脂层的次级树脂层,次级树脂层包含无机氧化物粒子,无机氧化物粒子包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群,利用X射线小角散射法测定体积平均粒径。
初级树脂层14例如可以是通过使包含氨基甲酸酯(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物、单体、光聚合引发剂以及硅烷偶联剂的树脂组合物固化而形成的。初级树脂层用的树脂组合物可以使用现有公知的技术。作为氨基甲酸酯(甲基)丙烯酸酯低聚物、单体、光聚合引发剂以及硅烷偶联剂,可以适当地选自上述基础树脂中所示例的化合物。但是,形成初级树脂层的树脂组合物与形成次级树脂层的基础树脂具有不同的组成。
实施例
以下,示出了本发明涉及的实施例和比较例的评价试验结果并对本发明进行更详细的说明。需要说明的是,本发明不限于这些实施例。
[次级树脂层用的树脂组合物]
(低聚物)
作为低聚物,准备了使分子量为600的聚丙二醇、2,4-甲苯二异氰酸酯、以及丙烯酸2-羟乙酯发生反应而得到的氨基甲酸酯丙烯酸酯低聚物(UA),以及环氧丙烯酸酯低聚物(EA)。
(单体)
作为单体,准备了丙烯酸异冰片酯(“大阪有機化学工業株式会社”的商品名“IBXA”)、三丙二醇二丙烯酸酯(“ダイセル·オルネクス株式会社”的商品名“TPGDA”)以及丙烯酸2-苯氧基乙酯(“共栄化学株式会社”的商品名“ライトアクリレートPO-A”)。
(光聚合引发剂)
作为光聚合引发剂,准备了1-羟基环己基苯基酮和2,4,6-三甲基苯甲酰基二苯基氧化膦。
(无机氧化物粒子)
作为无机氧化物粒子,准备了含有以下疏水性氧化硅粒子的氧化硅溶胶(MEK分散液)。
氧化硅粒子a:采用具有甲基丙烯酰基的硅烷偶联剂进行处理后的“粒径为10nm以上20nm以下”的粒子。
氧化硅粒子b:采用具有甲基丙烯酰基的硅烷偶联剂进行处理后的“粒径为40nm以上60nm以下”的粒子。
氧化硅粒子c:采用具有甲基丙烯酰基的硅烷偶联剂进行处理后的“粒径为80nm以上130nm以下”的粒子。
将20质量份的氨基甲酸酯丙烯酸酯低聚物、20质量份的环氧丙烯酸酯低聚物、20质量份的“ライトアクリレートPO-A”、25质量份的IBXA、15质量份的TPGDA、1质量份的1-羟基环己基苯基酮、以及1质量份的2,4,6-三甲基苯甲酰基二苯基氧化膦混合,从而制备了基础树脂。
接着,将各氧化硅溶胶与基础树脂混合后,减压除去大部分的作为分散介质的MEK,以使得成为表1所示的氧化硅粒子的含量,从而分别制备了实施例和比较例的树脂组合物(次级树脂层用的树脂组合物)。

[初级树脂层用的树脂组合物]
(低聚物)
准备了通过使分子量为2000的聚丙二醇、2,4-甲苯二异氰酸酯、丙烯酸2-羟乙酯以及甲醇发生反应而得到的氨基甲酸酯丙烯酸酯低聚物。
(树脂组合物)
将75质量份的氨基甲酸酯丙烯酸酯低聚物、12质量份的壬基苯酚EO改性丙烯酸酯、6质量份的N-乙烯基己内酰胺、2质量份的1,6-己二醇二丙烯酸酯、1质量份的2,4,6-三甲基苯甲酰基二苯基氧化膦以及1质量份的γ-巯基丙基三甲氧基硅烷混合,从而得到了初级树脂层用的树脂组合物。
[光纤的制作]
将初级树脂层用的树脂组合物和作为次级树脂层用的实施例或比较例的树脂组合物涂布在由芯部和包层构成的直径为125μm的玻璃纤维的外周,然后,通过照射紫外线,使得树脂组合物固化,形成厚度为35μm的初级树脂层、以及在其外周的厚度为25μm的次级树脂层,从而制作了光纤。将线速度设为1500m/分钟。
[各种评价]
使用实施例和比较例中所得的次级树脂层用的树脂组合物以及光纤进行了以下评价。结果如表2所示。
(X射线小角散射测定)
使用注射器将实施例或比较例中所得的树脂组合物注入到长度为8mm、的硼硅酸盐玻璃制毛细管中。然后,用粘土封住玻璃毛细管的开口,作为树脂组合物测定用样品。将X射线垂直地入射到该测定用样品,并且相对于入射X射线以5度以下的微小角度(小角)从样品向后方散射,利用二维检测器测定该散射的X射线。在二维检测器中,获得了在360°方向上散射的散射图样。
另外,将实施例或比较例中所得的光纤以无间隙地不重叠的方式并列,作为1cm×4cm尺寸的光纤测定用样品。将X射线垂直地入射到该测定用样品,并且相对于入射X射线以5度以下的微小角度(小角)从样品向后方散射,利用二维检测器测定该散射的X射线。在二维检测器中,获得了在360°方向上散射的散射图样。这里,在360°的二维散射图样中,由于包含因光纤的侧面处的反射而产生的成分,因此在测定中使用了不能观察到该成分的40°的成分。
需要说明的是,对于氧化硅粒子的粒径小的区域(大概小于50nm),主要使用爱知同步辐射中心(あいちシンクロトロン光センター)的光束“BL8S3”;对于粒径大的区域(大概50nm以上),使用爱知同步辐射中心的光束“BL8S3”和SPring-8的光束“BL19B2”,获得了散射图样。各实验条件如下所示。
“BL8S3”:X射线能量13.5keV、摄像机长度4m、检测器R-AXISIV++。
“BL19B2”:X射线能量18keV、摄像机长度42m、检测器PILATUS 2M。
使用粒径/空孔分析软件“NANO-Solver、Ver.3.7”(“株式会社リガク”制造)对如上所述获得的X射线的散射强度分布图进行分析。更具体而言,通过非线性最小二乘法进行拟合,使得所测定的X射线散射强度与经分析软件算出的X射线散射强度的值近似。根据拟合结果,求出无机氧化物粒子的粒子群的数量和体积平均粒径。需要说明的是,在分析时,假定无机氧化物粒子是完全球形的。粒子群的数量按照以下步骤求出。假设粒子群为1种来进行拟合,如果结果是标准化分散为60%以下,则设为1种粒子群。在标准化分散超过60%的情况下,假定粒子群为2种再次进行拟合,如果结果是标准化分散为60%以下,则设为2种粒子群。在标准化分散超过60%的情况下,假定粒子群为3种再次进行拟合,如果结果是标准化分散为60%以下,则设为3种粒子群。以下,同样地重复进行操作,求出粒子群的数量。
测定的结果:使用树脂组合物测定用样品的情况和使用光纤测定用样品的情况中,所算出的各氧化硅粒子群的体积平均粒径的值都没有变化。
(粘度)
使用B型粘度计(“ブルックフィ-ルド”公司制造的“数字式粘度计DV-II”、使用的主轴:No.18、转速:10rpm)测定了树脂组合物在45℃的粘度。
(杨氏模量)
使用将玻璃纤维从如上所述制作的光纤中拔出而得到的管状的被覆树脂层(长度:50mm以上),在23±2℃、50±10%RH的环境下进行拉伸试验(标线间距离:25mm),由2.5%割线值求出杨氏模量。需要说明的是,由此求出的杨氏模量实际上可认为是次级树脂层的杨氏模量。
(涂布性)
通过确认如上所述制作的光纤是否发生断线来评价树脂组合物的涂布性。将没有断线的情况评价为“A”;将发现了断线的情况评价为“B”。
(耐油性)
将如上所述制作的光纤以整个树脂被覆层完全浸入的方式浸入已加热至85℃的凝胶中60天。作为凝胶,使用了矿物油(“シグマアルドリッチ”制造)。对于凝胶浸渍后的光纤,测定其在25℃或-40℃下波长1550nm处的传输特性。将各温度下的光纤保持时间设为4小时以上。然后,将25℃下的传输损耗与-40℃下的传输损耗之差为0.05dB/km以下的情况评价为A;将超过0.05dB/km的情况评价为B。

可以确认:实施例的树脂组合物可以实现次级树脂层所需要的高侧压特性、并且涂布性也优异。

Claims (8)
1.一种光纤被覆用的树脂组合物,包括:含有低聚物、单体以及光聚合引发剂的基础树脂;以及无机氧化物粒子,
所述无机氧化物粒子包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群,利用X射线小角散射法测定所述体积平均粒径。
2.根据权利要求1所述的树脂组合物,其中,
所述无机氧化物粒子为含有选自由二氧化硅、二氧化锆、氧化铝、氧化镁、氧化钛、氧化锡以及氧化锌构成的组中的至少1种的粒子。
3.根据权利要求1或权利要求2所述的树脂组合物,其中,
所述无机氧化物粒子为疏水性。
4.根据权利要求1至权利要求3中任意一项所述的树脂组合物,其中,
所述无机氧化物粒子包含选自由体积平均粒径为5nm以上35nm以下的A粒子群、体积平均粒径为超过35nm且70nm以下的B粒子群、以及体积平均粒径为超过70nm且150nm以下的C粒子群构成的组中的至少2种。
5.一种光纤的次级被覆材料,包含权利要求1至权利要求4中任意一项所述的树脂组合物。
6.一种光纤,具备:
含有芯部和包层的玻璃纤维、
与所述玻璃纤维接触并被覆所述玻璃纤维的初级树脂层、以及被覆所述初级树脂层的次级树脂层,
所述次级树脂层由权利要求1至权利要求4中任意一项所述的树脂组合物的固化产物构成。
7.一种光纤,具备:
含有芯部和包层的玻璃纤维、
与所述玻璃纤维接触并被覆所述玻璃纤维的初级树脂层、以及被覆所述初级树脂层的次级树脂层,
所述次级树脂层含有无机氧化物粒子,
所述无机氧化物粒子包含具有不同体积平均粒径的多个粒子群,利用X射线小角散射法测定所述体积平均粒径。
8.一种光纤的制造方法,包括:
将权利要求1至权利要求4中任意一项所述的树脂组合物涂布在包含芯部和包层的玻璃纤维的外周的涂布工序;以及
在所述涂布工序后通过照射紫外线使所述树脂组合物固化的固化工序。
