Detailed Description
In order to improve uniformity of brightness of a display device and display effect of the display device, the embodiment of the application provides a display panel and a display device. The present application will be further described in detail with reference to the following examples, in order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present application more apparent.
As shown in fig. 2 to 10, the display panel provided by the embodiment of the application includes a first display area portion 1 and a second display area portion 2, where the first display area portion 1 includes a plurality of first pixel units 11 arranged in an array, and the first pixel units 11 include at least three first sub-pixels 111 with different colors that are adjacently arranged; the second display area part 2 comprises a plurality of second pixel units 22 arranged in an array, and the second pixel units 22 comprise at least three second sub-pixels 222 with different colors, which are adjacently arranged; wherein: the first pixel unit 11 and the second pixel unit 22 are the smallest units capable of realizing white display in the first display area portion 1 and the second display area portion 2, respectively, and the area of the first pixel unit 11 is smaller than the area of the second pixel unit 22.
In the embodiment of the present application, the area of the first pixel unit 11 of the first display area portion 1 of the display panel is smaller than the area of the second pixel unit 22 of the second display area portion 2, and specifically, the first pixel unit 11 is the smallest unit capable of realizing white display in the first display area portion 1, that is, each first sub-pixel 111 in the first pixel unit 11 is required to cooperate to display in each pixel point displayed in the first display area portion 1; the second pixel unit 22 is the smallest unit capable of realizing white display in the second display area 2, that is, each pixel point is displayed in the second display area 2, and each second sub-pixel in the second pixel unit 22 needs to be displayed in a matched manner. When the first display area portion 1 and the second display area portion 2 are lighted up by one minimum unit, respectively, the light transmission area of the first pixel unit 11 is smaller than that of the second pixel unit 22. Therefore, the luminance of the light-emitting source corresponding to the second display area section 2 can be designed to be small, and when one minimum unit is turned on, the light-emitting luminance of the second pixel unit 22 can be made not smaller than the light-emitting luminance of the first pixel unit 11. The light source of the second display area 2 has less influence on the brightness of the first display area 1, so that the uniformity of the brightness of the picture of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
With continued reference to fig. 2, the area of the first sub-pixel 111 is smaller than that of the second sub-pixel 222. In this embodiment, if the density of the first sub-pixels 111 of the first display area section 1 is greater than the density of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second display area section 2, the light transmittance of the second display area section 2 is greater than the light transmittance of the first display area section 1. In this embodiment, the area of the second pixel unit 22 is larger, and the light transmittance of the second display area portion 2 is higher, so the brightness of the light source of the second display area portion 2 can be smaller, and the display function of the second display area portion 2 can be satisfied, so that the display brightness is close to that of the first display area portion 1. Since the luminance of the light emitting source of the second display area 2 is smaller, the influence of the light emitting source of the second display area 2 on the luminance of the first display area 1 can be reduced, and the uniformity of the screen luminance of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
With continued reference to fig. 2, the side of the display panel adjacent to the first display area 1 and the second display area 2 is a first side 3, and the side perpendicular to the first side 3 is a second side 4; the pixel pitch of the second sub-pixel 222 is an integer multiple of the pixel pitch of the first sub-pixel 111 along the extending direction of the first side 3; along the extending direction of the second side 4, the pixel pitch of the second sub-pixel 222 is equal to the pixel pitch of the first sub-pixel 111.
In this embodiment, the size of the sub-pixels of the first display area portion 1 and the second display area portion 2 is equal in the second side 4 direction, and the pixel pitch of the second sub-pixel 222 is an integer multiple of the pixel pitch of the first sub-pixel 111 in the first side 3 direction. When the display panel is manufactured, the sizes of the sub-pixels on the first display area part 1 and the second display area part 2 are consistent in the direction of the second side edge 4, and only the size of the sub-pixel of the second display area part 2 is required to be changed in the direction of the third side edge, so that the process for manufacturing the sub-pixel of the display panel is simpler.
Referring to fig. 3, the number of the first sub-pixels 111 of the first pixel unit 11 is smaller than the number of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second pixel unit 22.
In this embodiment, in the second display area portion 2, the number of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second pixel unit 22 is larger than that of the first pixel unit 11, so that the area of the second pixel unit 22 can be larger than that of the first pixel unit 11, and the brightness of the light emitting source of the second display area portion 2 can be reduced. The light source of the second display area 2 has less influence on the brightness of the first display area 1, so that the uniformity of the picture brightness of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
In a specific embodiment, please continue to refer to fig. 3, the arrangement of the second sub-pixels 222 in the second pixel unit 22 is the same as the arrangement of the first sub-pixels 111 in the first pixel unit 11, and the sub-pixels of each color are sequentially arranged; referring to fig. 4, in the second pixel unit 22, the sub-pixels with the same color are adjacently disposed. The specific embodiment can be designed according to the product requirement, and only the number of the first sub-pixels 111 of the first pixel unit 11 is required to be smaller than the number of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second pixel unit 22.
Referring to fig. 5, the first pixel unit 11 includes a red first sub-pixel, a green first sub-pixel, and a blue first sub-pixel; the second pixel unit 22 includes a red second subpixel, a green second subpixel, a blue second subpixel, and a white second subpixel.
In this embodiment, the light transmittance of the white second sub-pixel is better in addition to the area of the second pixel unit 22 being larger than the area of the first pixel unit 11, so that the light transmittance of the second display area portion 2 can be increased, thereby reducing the brightness of the light emitting source of the second display area portion 2. The light source of the second display area 2 has less influence on the brightness of the first display area 1, so that the uniformity of the picture brightness of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
In practical applications, the pixel arrangement and driving modes of the display panel are different, and the pixel arrangement and driving modes can be broadly divided into a conventional pixel technology Real and a pixel rendering technology SPR. Specifically, in the embodiment of the present application, the first display area may adopt a conventional pixel technology Real, that is, in the display stage, the first pixel units are clearly divided and independent, and the adjacent first pixel units do not need to share the first sub-pixel. The second display area may adopt a pixel rendering technique SPR, that is, in the display stage, the second pixel units are not disposed independently of each other, and at least one second sub-pixel needs to be shared by adjacent second pixel units.

With continued reference to fig. 6, the plurality of second sub-pixels 222 of the second display area 2 arranged in an array are arranged in a pixel rendering manner. At least one second sub-pixel 222 is shared by adjacent second pixel units 22 in the second display section 2. In a specific embodiment, the plurality of second sub-pixels 222 of the second display area 2 arranged in an array include a plurality of second sub-pixel rows 6, the colors of the plurality of second sub-pixels 222 of each second sub-pixel row 6 are sequentially and circularly arranged, two adjacent second sub-pixel rows 6 are staggered by one second sub-pixel 222, and two second sub-pixel rows 6 separated by one row are the same.
The second display area part 2 is controlled to display by adopting the pixel rendering technology SPR, and because the adjacent second sub-pixels 222 can be combined according to the requirement, a more pixel unit combination mode can be realized by using the limited number of sub-pixels, the pixel density is improved on the display effect, so that the definition is better, and the display effect is better. Specifically, the pixel rendering arrangement mode is a specific arrangement mode, and in practical application, the arrangement mode is not limited to the arrangement mode listed in the application, and the specific pixel rendering arrangement mode can be designed according to requirements.
