Description

Radiofrequency thermal therapy equipment for eye meibomian glands
Technical Field
The invention relates to an ophthalmic medical device, in particular to a radio frequency ophthalmic meibomian gland thermotherapy device.
Background
Dry Eye Disease (DED) is a common chronic progressive disease that can cause eye discomfort, vision limitation, interference with cataract and refractive surgery, and reduce quality of life. 1 it occurs primarily when the tear film is compromised by reduced aqueous tear generation and/or excessive tear evaporation. Evaporative dry eye due to the Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) appears to represent the most common subset of DED, although many MGDs lack dry eye symptoms dry eye is the most common reason for seeking medical eye care, and therefore dry eye incurs significant costs due to direct and indirect healthcare costs and reduced productivity of work, with dry eye management estimated at $ 11302 per patient in the united states, a total cost of $ 550 billion, and with an extended life expectancy and aging population this condition is expected to increase dramatically in economic and social impact, obstructive MGD being the most common subtype leading to evaporative DED, and these mechanisms include: major obstructive hyperkeratinization of myoma glands, abnormal meibomian gland secretion, eyelid inflammation, corneal inflammation and injury, microbial changes and DED, the core of obstructive Myoma Gland Dysfunction (MGD) is waxy blockage of extravasation secretions associated with polychloroprene, and elevated melting points of stagnant and bacterial flora mobile clotting oil.
To alleviate dry eye, LipiFlow uses a disposable activator applied to the eyelid using a standardized computer-directed 12 minute procedure to raise the temperature of the portion of the eyelid containing MGs to 42.5 degrees celsius and then apply a thermal pulse to the area to eliminate liquefied MG content, many studies have shown that LipiFlow treatment can alleviate the symptoms of MGD in patients, including dry eye, and therefore, conductive heating and vector massage of LipiFlow can be considered the current "gold standard" for treating obstructive MGD.
When the temperature is 42-43 ℃, abnormal meibomian gland fat is liquefied and can be discharged by pressing, and the meibomian gland is generally heated in a heat conduction mode, so that the heat is slow; the heating depth is insufficient; the heating temperature is unstable.
