Abstract
A connector, comprising: a connection terminal, the connection terminal including: the terminal body is provided with an inserting space which is enclosed by an upper wall, two side walls and a lower wall; the first elastic sheet extends in the inserting space from the lower wall to the first direction to form a first contact end, and a convex structure is formed on the upper surface of the first elastic sheet; the matching terminal is matched with the connecting terminal and provided with a groove; wherein the groove is in sliding contact with at least a portion of the projection structure when the counterpart terminal is inserted into the insertion space. The connector provided by the invention increases the current carrying capacity of the terminal and simultaneously increases the reliability of the product.
Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of electric connection, in particular to a connecting terminal and a connector.
Background
An electrical connector is generally formed by combining a metal male terminal and a metal female terminal, and the male terminal and the female terminal are inserted to form electrical conduction. However, in current applications, the contact surface between the male terminal and the female terminal is generally small, so that the temperature rise value is fast under a small current carrying value, and the reliability of the male terminal and the female terminal in plugging is poor in the existing design.
Therefore, a connector that provides a large current carrying capacity and is not damaged when subjected to a large pressure during the plugging process is desired.
Disclosure of Invention
To solve the problems in the prior art, an aspect of the present invention provides a connection terminal used in cooperation with a mating terminal, including: the terminal body is provided with an inserting space which is enclosed by an upper wall, two side walls and a lower wall; the first elastic sheet extends from the lower wall to the first direction in the inserting space to form a first contact end, and a protruding structure is formed on the upper surface of the first elastic sheet, so that when the mating terminal is inserted into the inserting space, a groove in the mating terminal is in sliding contact with at least part of the protruding structure.
In one embodiment, the projection structure extends toward the first direction, and the projection structure is dimensioned such that the at least part of the projection structure is receivable within the recess when the counterpart terminal is inserted into the mating space.
In an embodiment, the connection terminal further includes a second elastic sheet extending in the insertion space from the lower wall toward a second direction opposite to the first direction to form a second contact end, and when the mating terminal is inserted into the insertion space and the first elastic sheet is pressed down to a first position, the second contact end of the second elastic sheet contacts the first contact end of the first elastic sheet.
In one embodiment, the connection terminal further includes a support member disposed below the first resilient sheet, and the support member is configured to support the first resilient sheet to prevent the first resilient sheet from moving downwards when the plugging end is inserted into the plugging space and the first resilient sheet is pressed to the second position.
In one embodiment, the second position is a lower position relative to the upper wall than the first position.
In one embodiment, a connecting terminal according to claim 1, wherein the upper wall is provided with at least one rib with which an upper surface of the counterpart terminal comes into contact when the counterpart terminal is inserted into the plugging space.
In one embodiment, the first spring plate comprises a first portion and a second portion, the first portion extending from the lower wall towards the upper wall within the plug space and the second portion extending from the first portion towards the lower wall within the plug space.
In one embodiment, the terminal further includes a wire connecting portion connected to a left side of the terminal body, and the wire connecting portion includes a connecting portion body and at least one pair of side arms, and the at least one pair of side arms are oppositely disposed on the wire connecting portion.
In one embodiment, the wire connecting portion is further connected with a wire fixing portion, and the wire fixing portion includes a fixing portion body and a fixing piece, wherein the fixing piece is bent to fix the wire on the fixing portion body.
Another aspect of the present invention provides a connector including: a connection terminal, the connection terminal comprising: the terminal body is provided with an inserting space which is enclosed by an upper wall, two side walls and a lower wall; the first elastic sheet extends in the inserting space from the lower wall to the first direction to form a first contact end, and a convex structure is formed on the upper surface of the first elastic sheet; the matching terminal is matched with the connecting terminal and is provided with a groove; wherein the groove is in sliding contact with at least a portion of the projection structure when the counterpart terminal is inserted into the insertion space.
In one embodiment, the mating terminal further includes a mating portion, and the groove is disposed on a lower surface of the mating portion.
In one embodiment, the projection extends in the first direction and is dimensioned such that the at least part of the projection can be received in the recess when the plug part is inserted into the plug space.
In an embodiment, the connection terminal further includes a second elastic sheet, the second elastic sheet extends in the insertion space from the lower wall toward a second direction opposite to the first direction to form a second contact end, and when the insertion portion is inserted into the insertion space and the first elastic sheet is pressed down to a first position, the second contact end of the second elastic sheet contacts with the first contact end of the first elastic sheet.
In one embodiment, the connection terminal further includes a support member disposed below the first resilient sheet, wherein the support member is configured to support the first resilient sheet to prevent the first resilient sheet from moving downwards when the insertion portion is inserted into the insertion space and the first resilient sheet is pressed to the second position.
In one embodiment, the second position is a lower position relative to the upper wall than the first position.
In one embodiment, the upper wall is provided with at least one rib, and an upper surface of the plug part is in contact with the at least one rib when the plug part is inserted into the plug space.
In one embodiment, the first spring plate comprises a first portion and a second portion, the first portion extending from the lower wall towards the upper wall within the plug space and the second portion extending from the first portion towards the lower wall within the plug space.
In one embodiment, the connection terminal further includes a first wire connection portion connected to a left side of the terminal body and the mating terminal further includes a second wire connection portion connected to a right side of the insertion end, the first wire connection portion includes a first connection portion body and at least one pair of first side arms oppositely disposed on the first wire connection portion; the second wire connecting part comprises a second connecting part body and at least one pair of second side arms, and the at least one pair of second side arms are oppositely arranged on the second wire connecting part.
In one embodiment, the first wire connecting portion is further connected with a first wire fixing portion, the first wire fixing portion includes a first fixing portion body and a first fixing piece, the second wire connecting portion is further connected with a second wire fixing portion, the second wire fixing portion includes a second fixing portion body and a second fixing piece, wherein the first fixing piece and the second fixing piece are bent to fix the wires on the first fixing portion body and the second fixing portion body respectively.
The invention also provides a plug terminal made of metal sheets, wherein the plug terminal comprises a plug part, the plug part is bent downwards from two sides of the plug part to form a groove, and the groove is configured to be in sliding contact with at least part of a convex structure in a connecting terminal when the plug terminal is inserted into a plug space of the connecting terminal matched with the plug terminal.
In one embodiment, the recess can at least partially accommodate the projection when the plug terminal is inserted into the plug space of the connection terminal.
In one embodiment, the plug terminal further includes a wire connecting portion and a wire fixing portion provided on a right side of the plug portion.
The connecting terminal and the connector provided by the invention have the advantages that the contact points between the terminals are increased, so that the larger current-carrying capacity is provided, and meanwhile, the provided support piece prevents the damage to the terminals caused by larger pressure generated in the plugging process.

Detailed Description
In the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments, reference is made to the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof. The accompanying drawings illustrate, by way of example, specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. The exemplary embodiments are not intended to be exhaustive of all embodiments according to the invention. In the specification, the same or similar reference numerals denote the same or similar components. It is to be understood that other embodiments may be utilized and structural changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. The following detailed description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims.
As used herein, the terms "include," "include," and similar terms are to be construed as open-ended terms, i.e., "including/including but not limited to," meaning that additional content can be included as well. The term "one embodiment" means "at least one embodiment"; the term "another embodiment" means "at least one additional embodiment," and so on.
The connection terminal in the embodiment of the present invention is a female terminal in a general sense, and the mating terminal in the embodiment is a male terminal in a general sense.
Front, rear, left, right, up, down, front, rear, left, right, upper, lower, and the like in the present invention are relative concepts used with reference to fig. 1.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a connector including: a connection terminal, the connection terminal comprising: the terminal body is provided with an inserting space, and the inserting space consists of an upper wall, two side walls and a lower wall; the first elastic sheet extends in the inserting space from the lower wall to the first direction to form a first contact end, and a convex structure is formed on the upper surface of the first elastic sheet; the matching terminal is matched with the connecting terminal and is provided with a groove; wherein the groove is in sliding contact with at least a portion of the projection structure when the counterpart terminal is inserted into the insertion space.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As shown in fig. 1 to 5, the connector 100 includes a connection terminal 110 and a counterpart terminal 210, and fig. 1 shows a perspective view after the connection terminal 110 and the counterpart terminal 210 are plugged together.
As shown in fig. 1, fig. 3 to 4, and fig. 6 to 9, the connection terminal 110 includes a terminal body 120, and the terminal body 120 includes an upper wall 122a, two side walls 122b, and a lower wall 122c, wherein the upper wall 122a, the two side walls 122b, and the lower wall 122c enclose an insertion space 121. The connection terminal 110 further includes a spring plate 124 and a spring plate 126, the spring plate 124 extends in the plug space 121 from the lower wall 122c toward a first direction (here, the first direction refers to a horizontal leftward direction as shown in fig. 3 and 4) and forms a contact end 124a, as shown in fig. 3, 4, 8 and 9, the spring plate 124 includes a first portion 124b and a second portion 124c connected to the first portion 124b, the contact end 124a is an end of the second portion 124c, specifically, the spring plate 124 is bent, the first portion 124b extends in the plug space 121 from the lower wall 122c toward the upper wall 122a, and the second portion 124c extends in the plug space 121 from the first portion 124b toward the lower wall 122 c. In one embodiment, one end of the spring plate 124 is connected to the lower wall 122c at the right side of the terminal body 120, and the other end (i.e., the contact end) 124a formed by extending the spring plate 124 is a free end disposed in the air. A protrusion 125 is disposed on the upper surface of the elastic sheet 124, the protrusion 125 extends in a first direction (as shown in fig. 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9) which is the same as the extending direction of the elastic sheet 124, and the elastic sheet 126 extends from the lower wall 122c toward a second direction (here, the second direction is a horizontal right direction as shown in fig. 3 and 4) opposite to the first direction in the inserting space 121 to form a contact end 126 a. In another embodiment, one end of the elastic piece 126 is connected to the lower wall 122c at the left side of the terminal body 120, and the other end (i.e., the contact end) 126a of the elastic piece 126 is a free end that is suspended. In addition, the upper wall 122a is further provided with two ribs 127 facing the lower wall 122c (it is understood that the number of ribs 127 may be only one or any number more than two). In addition, the terminal body 120 further includes a support 128, and the support 128 is located below the spring piece 124. It is to be understood that the lower wall 122c may be a wall formed of a plurality of separate pieces located at the bottom of the terminal body 120, or may be a wall formed of one integral piece located at the bottom of the terminal body 120.
As shown in fig. 1, 3-5, and 10-11, the counterpart terminal 210 is used to mate with the connection terminal 110. The mating terminal 210 includes a mating part 220, and a groove 224a is formed on a lower surface 224 of the mating part 220, wherein when the mating part 220 is inserted into the mating space 121 and the spring plate 124 is pressed down to a first position (when the spring plate is under a suitable range of pressure), the groove 224a is in at least partial sliding contact with the protrusion 125 (i.e., the protrusion 125 is sized such that a portion is received in the groove 224a to contact two sides of the groove 224a, or the protrusion 125 is sized such that the entire protrusion is received in the groove 224a to contact two sides of the groove 224 a. in one embodiment, the protrusion 125 is snapped together with the groove 224 a.) and the upper surface 222 of the mating part 220 is in contact with the two ribs 127. And when the inserting part 220 is inserted into the inserting space 121 and the elastic sheet 124 is pressed down to the second position (here, the second position is a lower position relative to the upper wall 122a than the first position, and at this time, the elastic sheet 124 bears a larger pressure exceeding an appropriate range), the support 128 can prevent the elastic sheet 124 from continuing to move downwards, so as to prevent the elastic sheet from being damaged. It should be understood that in one embodiment, the counterpart terminal 210 is made of a metal sheet, and the contact portion 220 is bent downward from both sides thereof to form the groove 224 a.
With continued reference to fig. 1, 2, 6-7, and 10-11, the connection terminal 110 further includes a wire connecting portion 130 and a wire fixing portion 140 disposed on a left side thereof, the counterpart terminal 210 further includes a wire connecting portion 230 and a wire fixing portion 240 disposed on a right side thereof, the wire connecting portions 130, 230 are respectively configured to be coupled with a core of a wire 310, the wire connecting portion 130 includes a connecting portion body 132 and a pair of side arms 134, the wire connecting portion 230 includes a connecting portion body 232 and a pair of side arms 234, and in one embodiment of the present invention, the side arms 134 and 234 are used to fix a metal core of the connection wire. The wire fixing portion 140 includes a fixing portion body 142 and a pair of fixing pieces 144, and the wire fixing portion 240 includes a fixing portion body 242 and a pair of fixing pieces 244. The fixing piece 144 and the fixing piece 244 are bent to fix the lead to the fixing portion body 142 and the fixing portion body 242, respectively. The fixing pieces 144 and 244 fix the insulated wire portions of the wire connection ends to the fixing portion bodies 142 and 242, respectively, to enhance the stability of the wires and prevent the wires from being separated from the side arms 142 and 242. It should be understood that in the embodiments shown in fig. 1, 2, 6-7 and 10-11, the wires connected to the wire connection portions 130 and 230 are the same type and size of wire, and in another embodiment, the wires connected to the wire connection portions 130 and 230 may be different types and/or sizes of wire according to actual needs.
It should be understood that in the above embodiments of the present invention, the resilient pieces 124 and 126 are integrally formed with the lower wall, and in another embodiment, the resilient pieces 124 and 126 may be connected to the lower wall by other suitable connection methods. In another embodiment, the connection terminal 110 may not include the resilient piece 126, in which case, when the mating part 220 of the counterpart terminal 210 is inserted into the mating space 121, the groove 224a on the lower surface 224 of the mating part 220 is in sliding contact with at least part of the protruding structure 125 and the upper surface 222 of the mating part 220 is in contact with the upper wall 122a (it is understood that the upper surface 222 of the mating part 220 may not be in contact with the upper wall 122 a). In another embodiment, the connection terminal 110 may not include the spring 126 and the support 128. In another embodiment, the upper wall 122a of the terminal body 120 may not include the rib 17, i.e., one surface of the upper wall 122c in the plug space 121 is a flat surface.
The connecting terminal and the connector provided by the invention have the advantages that the contact points between the terminals are increased, so that the larger current-carrying capacity can be provided, and meanwhile, the provided support piece prevents the damage to the terminals caused by larger pressure generated in the plugging process.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned embodiments are only specific examples of the present invention, and obviously, the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiments, and many similar variations exist. All modifications which would occur to one skilled in the art and which are, therefore, directly derived or suggested from the disclosure herein are deemed to be within the scope of the present invention.
