When the image forming apparatus is in trouble such as a jam during image formation, and when it is necessary to take out the process cartridge, the intermediate coupling member 12 is kept in the image forming apparatus in the state shown with reference to fig. 14, specifically, when the process cartridge is taken out of the image forming apparatus in the direction M in fig. 14, the sealing member 14 is moved toward the supporting member 13 by the urging force of the urging member 15, and at this time, the intermediate coupling member 12 has been kept in the image forming apparatus, and therefore, the sealing portion 14b on the sealing member 14 seals the downward opening portion of the supporting member 13, preventing leakage of the waste toner from the process cartridge, and the sealing portion 14b is provided with a sponge material having elasticity and is designed to a proper height so that the sealing portion 14b has a larger compression amount and seals the waste toner discharge port of the intermediate coupling member 12 when the intermediate coupling member 12 is kept on the supporting member 13 in the image forming apparatus, and the sealing portion 14b has a smaller compression amount than when the intermediate coupling member 12 is kept off from the supporting member 13, and this compression amount can compress the waste toner of the same sealing member 11 downward.
Referring to fig. 12 and 14, when the old process cartridge is exhausted and another new process cartridge is required to be replaced, since the intermediate coupling member 12 on the old process cartridge has been retained in the image forming apparatus, which causes the height at which the image forming apparatus side feeding member is lifted, the intermediate coupling member 12 of the new process cartridge is blocked by the intermediate coupling member retained in the image forming apparatus and moved to a retracted position away from the first coupling member 11 in a direction intersecting the gravitational direction against the elastic force of the urging member 16, at which time the intermediate coupling member 12 is brought into engagement with the intermediate coupling member 12 retained in the image forming apparatus by sliding into the above-described guide groove portion 1a and guide rail portion 1b to expose the first coupling member 11. When a new process cartridge needs to be taken out of the image forming apparatus again, the intermediate coupling member 12 moves toward the first coupling member 11 under the elastic force of the urging member 16, and during the movement of the intermediate coupling member 12, when the upper end coupling portion 12a is aligned with the first coupling member force output portion 11b in the movement direction of the intermediate coupling member 12, the intermediate coupling member 12 is again engaged with the first coupling member 11, the sealing member 14 seals the intermediate coupling member 12, and when the upper end coupling portion 12a is not aligned with the first coupling member force output portion 11b in the movement direction of the intermediate coupling member 12, the movement of the intermediate coupling member 12 is stopped, and the sealing member 14 seals the supporting member 13. Alternatively, the first coupling member 11 may be provided with a structure of a circumferential rotational positioning, for example, a pair of torsion springs are installed at positions where the inner circumferential surfaces of the supporting members 13 are symmetrical with respect to the axial direction, one free leg portion of the pair of torsion springs extends radially inward, the first coupling member 11 may be provided as a combination of upper and lower members with a circumferential free gap, one outer circumferential surface of the opposite lower end of the first coupling member 11 is made elliptical and is in contact with the free leg portion, and when the process cartridge is taken out of the image forming apparatus, the pair of torsion springs exert an elastic force on the outer circumferential surface of the elliptical shape after the first coupling member 11 is disengaged from the intermediate coupling member so that the one opposite lower end of the first coupling member 11 rotates with respect to the one upper end and finally maintains a fixed angular positional relationship with the holding member 13 in the rotational direction, and thus the intermediate coupling member 12 can smoothly complete engagement with the first coupling member 11 each time.
Example 2
A second embodiment of the process cartridge-side coupling unit will be described.
The rest of the structure of the process cartridge except the process cartridge side coupling unit is the same as that of embodiment 1. Referring to fig. 15 and 16, in order to better disengage the process cartridge side coupling unit from the image forming apparatus side feeding member when the process cartridge is taken out of the image forming apparatus and to better engage the process cartridge with the intermediate coupling member remaining in the image forming apparatus when the process cartridge is mounted into the image forming apparatus, in this embodiment, a smooth transition process is performed at an upper end portion of the intermediate coupling member 12, specifically, a transition surface 12e is provided on the intermediate coupling member 12, the transition surface 12e may be provided as a slope or an arc surface, a lower edge of an inner circumferential surface of the first coupling member 11 is provided as a contact transition surface 12e when the process cartridge is taken out of the image forming apparatus, the intermediate coupling member 12 is pressed downward by a distance by the contact transition surface 12e, and the intermediate coupling member 12 is supported by the spring coupling member 104 to allow the intermediate coupling member 12 to move downward by a distance to compress the spring coupling member 104 so that the first coupling member 11 is smoothly disengaged from the intermediate coupling member 12. In addition, when the upper end coupling portion 12a of the intermediate coupling member 12 is rotated to a state where the extending direction thereof is not parallel to the taking-out direction, which makes it difficult to take out the process cartridge, the portion of the intermediate coupling member 12 inserted into the image forming apparatus side sealing member 102 may be set in a clearance fit so that the rotational axis of the intermediate coupling member 12 may be inclined at an angle with respect to the rotational axis of the image forming apparatus side feeding member so that the first coupling member 11 and the intermediate coupling member 12 are disengaged to take out the process cartridge. Alternatively, the upper end coupling portion 12a may be made of a material having elastic deformation such as rubber, and the first coupling member 11 and the intermediate coupling member 12 may be separated from each other by elastic deformation of the upper end coupling portion 12a to take out the process cartridge. When the process cartridge is mounted into the image forming apparatus, the lower edge of the outer circumferential surface of the supporting member 13 is set to contact the transition surface 12e, the intermediate coupling member 12 is pressed downward by a distance by the contact transition surface 12e, and the intermediate coupling member 12 is supported by the spring coupling member 104 to allow the intermediate coupling member 12 to move downward by compressing the spring coupling member 104 a distance so that the first coupling member 11 and the intermediate coupling member 12 are smoothly engaged.
Example 3
A third embodiment of the process cartridge-side coupling unit will be described.
The rest of the structure of the process cartridge except the process cartridge side coupling unit is the same as that of embodiment 1. With reference to figures 17 and 18 of the drawings,
Since the held portion 12b needs to be supported on the supporting member 13, it has a certain height, and when the process cartridge is mounted and removed, there is a certain angle that causes the first coupling member 11 and the supporting member 13 to interfere with the held portion 12b, and although the holding portion 12b may be provided to be elastically deformable to avoid the problem of failing to mount and remove, it also brings inconvenience to the mounting and removal of the process cartridge. In this embodiment, the supported portion 12b21 of the supported portion 12b is provided so as to surround the surrounding portion of the holding portion 13b, and one notch 12b13 is provided in the intermediate support portion, in other words, a thin wall portion 12b11 is provided between the supported portion 12b21 and the support bottom portion 12b12 of the intermediate support portion, and the process cartridge is mounted in the image forming apparatus, and the thin wall portion 12b11 is broken while the supported portion 12b21 is supported on the holding portion 13b to prevent falling into the image forming apparatus during the process of the wing portion of the intermediate coupling member 12 being forced downward by the rotating arm in accordance with the closing of the machine door cover of the image forming apparatus. Referring to fig. 18, when the process cartridge is taken out from the image forming apparatus, the intermediate support member 12 is retained in the image forming apparatus, and at this time, only the bottom support portion 12b12 of the intermediate support portion 12b1 remains on the support member 12, and since the bottom support portion 12b12 protrudes only a small portion, interference with the bottom support portion 12b12 does not occur during the subsequent process cartridge mounting and taking out. Alternatively, the thin wall portion may be provided at the junction of the intermediate support portion 12b1 and the wing portion 12c, the entire intermediate support portion 12b1 may be retained on the retaining portion 13b, or the intermediate support portion 12b1 may be provided so as to be composed of two members which are engaged with each other, and the intermediate support portion 12b1 is separated by being separated from contact with each other after being forced by a clip.
Example 4
A third embodiment of the process cartridge-side coupling unit will be described. In this embodiment, the structure of the process cartridge-side coupling unit is substantially the same as that of embodiment 3. The difference is that a transition surface 12e is added to the intermediate transmission member 12 in this embodiment.
The invention has the beneficial effects that:
In one aspect, by driving the image forming apparatus side to the structure of the member to effect transfer of the waste toner by the process cartridge side coupling unit, the waste toner accommodating portion in the process cartridge can be eliminated, and the waste toner can be directly transported from the process cartridge to the image forming apparatus, so that the size of the process cartridge can be greatly reduced, and the production cost and the packaging and transportation cost of the process cartridge can be reduced, while ensuring the yield of the process cartridge pages.
On the other hand, by the intermediate coupling member which can remain in the image forming apparatus, the probability of failure of the process cartridge-side coupling unit is reduced by the engagement and disengagement between the first coupling member and the intermediate coupling member at the time of mounting and removing the process cartridge during the reinstallation after the first mounting and removing of the process cartridge.
In still another aspect, after the intermediate coupling member is combined with the side feeding member in the image forming apparatus, the first coupling member does not need to be provided at the telescopic mechanism, since the telescopic movement of the first coupling member is canceled during the plurality of mounting and removing of the process cartridge, the first coupling member can more stably transmit the driving force, and the first coupling member does not have a problem that it may be detached from the process cartridge during the removing of the process cartridge from the image forming apparatus.
In still another aspect, after the intermediate coupling is coupled to the side feeding member in the image forming apparatus, the process cartridge side coupling unit is engaged with the side feeding member of the image forming apparatus without relying on the interlocking action of the machine door of the image forming apparatus, and therefore, even when the interlocking structure between the rotation shaft in the image forming apparatus and the machine door malfunctions due to long-time use, the process cartridge side coupling unit can be well engaged with and disengaged from the side feeding member of the image forming apparatus during the process of mounting and removing the process cartridge.
The above embodiments are only for illustrating the technical solution of the present invention, and are not limiting; although the invention has been described in detail with reference to the foregoing embodiments, it will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that: the technical scheme described in the foregoing embodiments can be modified or some technical features thereof can be replaced by equivalents; such modifications and substitutions do not depart from the spirit and scope of the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention.
