Description

Cap for rigid container
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of caps or lids for rigid containers. More particularly, the present invention relates to the field of cap or lid closures including tamper-evident indicators.
Background
Document US2015034645 describes a closure for a particularly cylindrical package of food products, comprising a base intended to be fixed to the package. The apparatus also includes a lid for closing the opening of the container, the lid hingedly connected to the base. The lid is connected to the base by a tamper-evident device that includes tabs integral with the lid. The tabs include pins or hooks that are connected to the tabs by breakable bridges. A hook on the tab enables the lid to be locked in the closed position. To open the lid, the breakable bridges of the hooks must be broken. The implementation of the tamper evident device of this document is not visible. The rupture of the breakable bridges is not visible.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to solve the drawbacks of the above-mentioned documents of the prior art, and in particular to provide a cap equipped with a tamper-indicator which is difficult to avoid and whose initial opening is highly visible.
To this end, a first aspect of the invention relates to a cap for a rigid container, said cap comprising: a base designed to be mounted on an opening of a container; a lid secured to the base via a hinge; and an opening device including a tamper indicator, characterized in that the tamper indicator comprises: a tab connected to the lid at least by one or more breakable bridges; and a lug pivotally mounted on the base, the lug comprising securing means for securing the tab, the securing means being designed to retain the tab on the base when the lid is moved from the closed position to the open position.
Therefore, once the lid is closed, the tab cannot be removed from the lid without opening the lid.
According to another embodiment, the fixing means comprise a hook designed to engage in the housing of the base.
According to another embodiment, the hook is irreversibly mounted in the housing.
According to another embodiment, the tab comprises an opening for the hook of the lug to pass through.
According to another embodiment, the length of the hook is determined such that the tab can move between the lug and the base when the breakable bridge breaks.
The movement of the lugs during opening of the lid makes the initial opening more visible.
According to another embodiment, the lid comprises a receptacle for a measuring spoon.
According to another embodiment, the base comprises a support for each end of the measuring spoon.
According to another embodiment, the lid (3) comprises a gripping area (14).
Drawings
Other features and advantages of the present invention will be set forth in the following detailed description of embodiments of the invention and the illustrations in the accompanying drawings, which are provided for the purpose of illustration and are not limiting in nature.
FIG. 1 is a view of a cap according to the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a detailed view of the tamper indicator of the cap according to the present invention in its unopened state;
fig. 3 is a detailed view of the tamper indicator of the cap according to the present invention in its open state.
Detailed Description
A cap 1 according to the present invention will now be described with reference to figures 1 to 3.
In a manner known per se, the cap 1 comprises a base 2 connected to a lid 3 by a hinge 4. The base 2 is implemented in the form of a ring and is intended to be mounted on a rigid container (not shown), for example by clamping. According to the embodiment shown, the base 2, the lid 3 and the hinge 4 are made in a single piece, for example by plastic injection.
To ensure that the lid 3 is sealed with respect to the base 2, the lid comprises a skirt 21 which abuts against a circular lip 23 of the base 2. The end of the skirt may include a protrusion or have an olive shape to improve the seal.
The base 2 may also comprise at least one ring (not shown) bearing against the container to ensure retention of the cap 1 on the container. The outer surface of the base 2 may also comprise at least one rib 25 which ensures clamping of the lid 3 on the base 2 when in the closed position. These ribs 25 are designed to hold the lid in the closed position.
The inner surface of the lid 3 may comprise a receptacle 6 designed to receive a measuring spoon (not shown). Before the first use of the measuring spoon, the receptacle 6 is closed by a protective film. The lid 3 further comprises a gripping area 14, for example positioned opposite the hinge, to facilitate the opening of the lid 3 by the user.
The base 2 may comprise supports 9 designed to accommodate a measuring spoon after initial use. These supports 9 are, for example, trays formed by the inner periphery of the ring forming the base 2. According to the embodiment shown, the base 2 comprises two supports 9. Each support 9 may comprise a holding member 10.1, 10.2, such as a clamp of a measuring spoon.
Likewise, the edge of the support may have a straight portion to smooth the contents of the measuring spoon.
According to the invention, the cap 1 comprises a tamper-evident indicator 13 which enables checking whether the initial opening of the lid 3 has been performed. The tamper indicator comprises a tab 13 which is secured to the lid by means of at least one breakable bridge 30. For example, the tab 13 is formed on the outer edge of the cover 3 on a plane substantially perpendicular to the cover 3. Thus, when the lid 3 is in the closed position on the base 2, the tab 13 at least partially covers a portion of the ring forming the base. According to the invention, the cap 1 also comprises means 17 for fixing the tabs 13 on the base. These fixing means 17 are designed to keep the tabs 13 in position on the base 2 during the operation of opening the lid 3.
It will therefore be readily appreciated that the lid 3 can only be opened in the event of breakage of one or more breakable bridges 30. Thus, the rupture of one or more breakable bridges 30 of tab 13 indicates to the user that the initial opening of lid 3 has been performed.
The means for fixing the tab 13 comprise a lug 17 integral with the base 2. According to the embodiment shown, the lug 17 and the base 2 are made of a single piece. Likewise, the lugs 17 are pivotally mounted on the base 2.
The lug 17 comprises at least one hook 18 shaped to fit into a corresponding housing 19 formed in the ring of the base 2. Thus, when one or more hooks 18 are inserted into one or more corresponding receptacles 19, the tab 13 is held in place by the lug 17.
The hook 18 and the housing 19 are shaped so that the insertion of the hook 18 into the housing 19 is irreversible. By way of example, each hook 18 comprises a bevel facilitating insertion into the corresponding housing 19 and a shoulder forming a stop preventing the hook 18 from coming out when the hook 18 has been introduced into the housing 19.
According to the embodiment shown, the tab 13 comprises at least one opening 20 positioned opposite each housing 19. The opening 20 allows the hook 18 to pass through. For example, the length of the hook 18 is set so that the lug 17 does not come into contact with the tab 13. When the hook 18 is inserted into the receptacle 19 through the opening 20, there is a gap between the tab 13 and the lug. When breakable bridge 30 breaks, tab 13 is then detached from lid 3 and is therefore free to move around hook 18. As can be seen in fig. 3, which corresponds to the open state, the tab 13 is in a different position than the position it occupies when in the closed state shown in fig. 2. Thus, the initial opening of the lid 3 is immediately visible to the user due to the change in position of the tab 13. Furthermore, even after opening, the tab 13 is retained at the base 2, since it is suspended on the hook 18.
The tamper indicator according to the present invention is implemented in the following manner. The lid 3 is in an initial open position. The lugs 17 are in the deployed position. The lid 3 is then closed. The tab 13 is then placed at the level of the housing 19 of the hook 18. Finally, the lug 17 is folded up by inserting the hook 18 into the housing 19.
It will be readily understood that various modifications and/or improvements obvious to the person skilled in the art may be made to the different embodiments of the invention described in the present description without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
