Abstract

The invention provides an OLED display panel and a display screen, wherein a plurality of extra pixels are arranged below pixels close to an abnormal edge to compensate a blank area of the abnormal edge, so that the step shape of the abnormal edge is weakened, and the problem of sawtooth-shaped display of the abnormal edge is solved. Moreover, the light emitting areas of the extra pixels are the same as those of the normal pixels, so that the light emitting brightness of the special-shaped edge cannot be attenuated, and the uniformity of light emitting is ensured.

Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of light emitting display, in particular to an OLED display panel and a display screen.
Background
Currently, the OLED display panel often includes a display area and a non-display area, and with the wide application of display devices, such as head-mounted devices, communication devices, multimedia devices, and the like, the display area often presents a non-regular periphery and has a special-shaped edge between the display area and the non-display area. Specifically, referring to fig. 1, the OLED display panel includes a substrate 1, and a display area and a non-display area on the substrate 1, wherein the display area and the non-display area have a shaped edge 2 therebetween, the display area has a plurality of central pixels 3 and a plurality of pixels 4 near the shaped edge, the plurality of pixels 4 are in a step shape near the shaped edge 2, and when displaying, a sawtooth shape of the edge is generated, which causes non-uniformity of display.
Disclosure of Invention
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides an OLED display panel including:
a substrate;
the substrate comprises a display area and a non-display area surrounding the display area, and at least one special-shaped edge is arranged between the display area and the non-display area;
the display area is provided with a plurality of first pixels, a plurality of second pixels and a plurality of third pixels on the substrate, and the plurality of first pixels and the plurality of third pixels are closer to the special-shaped edge than the plurality of second pixels;
the plurality of first pixels and the plurality of second pixels have a first distance in a horizontal direction therebetween, and the plurality of first pixels have a larger vertical distance than the plurality of third pixels as compared to the substrate, wherein the plurality of first pixels include first sub-pixels, the plurality of third pixels include second sub-pixels closest to the first sub-pixels, projections of the first sub-pixels and the second sub-pixels on the substrate partially overlap, or the first sub-pixels and the second sub-pixels have a second distance in the horizontal direction therebetween, and the second distance is smaller than the first distance.
Further, the light emitting areas of the plurality of first pixels, the plurality of second pixels and the plurality of third pixels are the same.
Further, the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel share the same TFT element.
Further, in the horizontal direction, the second sub-pixel is closer to the special-shaped edge than the first sub-pixel.
Furthermore, the number of the first sub-pixels is multiple, the number of the second sub-pixels is also multiple and corresponds to the number of the first sub-pixels one by one, but the number of the first sub-pixels is smaller than the number of the first pixels.
Further, the liquid crystal display device further comprises an interlayer insulating layer on the substrate, wherein the interlayer insulating layer comprises a plurality of TFT elements.
Further, the plurality of third pixels are formed in the interlayer insulating layer.
Further, a planarization layer on the interlayer insulating layer and a pixel defining layer on the planarization layer are included, and the plurality of first pixels and the plurality of second pixels are formed in the pixel defining layer.
The invention also provides a display screen which comprises the display panel.
The invention utilizes a plurality of extra pixels arranged below the pixel close to the special-shaped edge to compensate the blank area of the special-shaped edge, weakens the step shape of the special-shaped edge and further eliminates the problem of saw-toothed display of the special-shaped edge. Moreover, the light emitting areas of the extra pixels are the same as those of the normal pixels, so that the light emitting brightness of the special-shaped edge cannot be attenuated, and the uniformity of light emitting is ensured.

Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure more apparent, the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present disclosure will be described clearly and completely with reference to the drawings of the embodiments of the present disclosure. It is to be understood that the described embodiments are only a few embodiments of the present disclosure, and not all embodiments. Unless otherwise defined, technical or scientific terms used herein shall have the ordinary meaning as understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which this disclosure belongs. The use of "first," "second," and similar terms in this disclosure is not intended to indicate any order, quantity, or importance, but rather is used to distinguish one element from another. The word "comprising" or "comprises", and the like, means that the element or item listed before the word covers the element or item listed after the word and its equivalents, but does not exclude other elements or items. The terms "connected" or "coupled" and the like are not restricted to physical or mechanical connections, but may include electrical connections, whether direct or indirect. "upper", "lower", "left", "right", and the like are used merely to indicate relative positional relationships, and when the absolute position of the object being described is changed, the relative positional relationships may also be changed accordingly.
Referring to fig. 2 and 3, the OLED display panel of the present invention includes a substrate 10. The substrate 10 may be formed of any suitable insulating material having flexibility. For example, the resin composition may be formed of a polymer material such as Polyimide (PI), Polycarbonate (PC), Polyethersulfone (PES), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), Polyarylate (PAR), or glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP). The substrate 10 may also be rigid, such as glass.
The substrate 10 includes a display area and a non-display area surrounding the display area, and at least one shaped edge 11 is disposed between the display area and the non-display area. The shaped edge 11 may be an arc, polygon or other possible shape.
The display region has a plurality of first pixels 13, a plurality of second pixels 12, and a plurality of third pixels 14 on the substrate 11, and the plurality of first pixels 13 and the third pixels 14 are closer to the irregular edge than the plurality of second pixels 12. The plurality of second pixels 12 are in the middle area of the display area and in the area near the non-profiled edge.
The plurality of first pixels 13, the plurality of second pixels 12, and the plurality of third pixels 14 are all OLED display devices, and each include a three-layer structure of an anode, an organic light emitting layer, and a cathode. Referring to fig. 3, the substrate 10 includes a plurality of interlayer insulating layers, for example, a buffer layer 16, a gate insulating layer 17, a dielectric layer 18, in which a plurality of TFT elements controlling the plurality of first pixels 13, the plurality of second pixels 12, and the plurality of third pixels 14 are formed, and also, the plurality of third pixels 14 are also formed in the plurality of interlayer insulating layers, and the plurality of third pixels 14 respectively include an anode 21 electrically connected to a source or a drain of the TFT element, an organic light emitting layer 22 on the anode 21, and a cathode 23 on the organic light emitting layer 22.
The plurality of interlayer insulating layers have a planarization layer 19 and a pixel defining layer 20 thereon, and the plurality of first pixels 13 and the plurality of second pixels 12 are formed in the pixel defining layer 20. The plurality of first pixels 13 respectively include an anode 24 electrically connected to a source or a drain of the TFT element, an organic light emitting layer 25 on the anode 24, and a cathode 26 on the organic light emitting layer 25; the plurality of second pixels 12 respectively include an anode 27 electrically connected to a source or a drain of the TFT element, an organic light emitting layer 28 on the anode 27, and a cathode 29 on the organic light emitting layer 28.
The light emitting areas of the first pixels 13, the second pixels 12 and the third pixels 14 are the same, so that the brightness of the position of the special-shaped edge 11 is consistent with the brightness of the middle area, and the uniformity of the brightness is ensured.
Wherein the plurality of first pixels 13 and the plurality of second pixels 12 have a first distance d1 in the horizontal direction (i.e. horizontal lateral distance) therebetween, and the plurality of first pixels 13 have a larger vertical distance than the plurality of third pixels 14 (i.e. the first pixels 13 are farther from the substrate 10) than the plurality of third pixels 14, compared to the substrate 10.
In order to eliminate the edge aliasing effect, the plurality of first pixels include a plurality of first sub-pixels, the plurality of third pixels include a plurality of second sub-pixels respectively closest to the plurality of first sub-pixels one by one, the correspondingly arranged first sub-pixels overlap with the projection portions of the second sub-pixels on the substrate 10, see the overlapping portion S of fig. 2 and 3, or the correspondingly arranged first sub-pixels and second sub-pixels have a second distance d2 in the horizontal direction, and the second distance d2 is smaller than the first distance d 1. Therefore, the step form of the display device close to the special-shaped edge 11 becomes fuzzy, and the special-shaped edge display arrangement with smooth transition of the edge is formed
Due to the limited area of the substrate 10, the corresponding first sub-pixels and the corresponding second sub-pixels share the same TFT element, so that horizontal space can be saved, and the brightness of the corresponding first sub-pixels and the brightness of the corresponding second sub-pixels can be ensured to be consistent. And, in the horizontal direction, the second sub-pixel is closer to the shaped edge than the first sub-pixel.
Further, the first sub-pixels are plural, the second sub-pixels are also plural and correspond to the first sub-pixels one by one, however, the number of the first sub-pixels is smaller than the number of the plurality of first pixels 13, because some of the first pixels 13 are close enough to the special-shaped edge 11.
The invention also provides a display screen which comprises the display panel.

Claims (9)

1. An OLED display panel, comprising:
a substrate;
the substrate comprises a display area and a non-display area surrounding the display area, and at least one special-shaped edge is arranged between the display area and the non-display area;
the display area is provided with a plurality of first pixels, a plurality of second pixels and a plurality of third pixels on the substrate, and the plurality of first pixels and the plurality of third pixels are closer to the special-shaped edge than the plurality of second pixels;
wherein the plurality of first pixels and the plurality of second pixels have a first distance in a horizontal direction therebetween, and the plurality of first pixels have a larger vertical distance than the plurality of third pixels compared to the substrate, wherein the plurality of first pixels include a first sub-pixel, the plurality of third pixels include a second sub-pixel closest to the first sub-pixel, a projection of the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel on the substrate partially overlaps, or a second distance in the horizontal direction therebetween is smaller than the first distance.
2. The OLED display panel of claim 1, wherein the light emitting areas of the first, second, and third pixels are all the same.
3. The OLED display panel of claim 1, wherein the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel share a same TFT element.
4. The OLED display panel of claim 1, wherein the second sub-pixel is closer to the shaped edge than the first sub-pixel in a horizontal direction.
5. The OLED display panel of claim 1, wherein the first sub-pixels are plural, the second sub-pixels are plural and correspond to the first sub-pixels one by one, but the number of the first sub-pixels is smaller than the number of the first pixels.
6. The OLED display panel of claim 1, further comprising an interlayer insulating layer on the substrate, the interlayer insulating layer including a plurality of TFT elements therein.
7. The OLED display panel according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of third pixels are formed in the interlayer insulating layer.
8. The OLED display panel of claim 7, further comprising a planarization layer on the interlayer insulating layer and a pixel defining layer on the planarization layer, the plurality of first and second pixels being formed in the pixel defining layer.
9. A display screen comprising an OLED display panel as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 8.
