Description

Furniture and method for opening and closing a pivotable flap
Technical Field
The invention relates to a piece of furniture having a furniture body and a pivotable flap arranged thereon, and to a method for opening and closing a pivotable flap, wherein the furniture body has: a top panel and at least one side wall, wherein at least one hinge is fixed to the top panel, each hinge comprising a side portion fixed to the top panel and having a hinge portion pivotable relative to the side portion and for fixing to the flip; and a retaining device by means of which the flap can be locked in at least one open position, the retaining device being unlocked by lifting the flap.
Background
Known flap fittings are mounted on the side walls of the furniture body (EP 1846635) and can hold the flap in the open position. Such flip fittings on the side walls of the furniture body reduce the available internal volume and are visually disadvantageous.
DE 2524532 discloses a device for locking a flap which swings upwards and is held by a hinge fixed to the top panel of a furniture body. This allows better utilization of the internal volume. In this hinge, the flap is mounted to rotate about an axis and is provided with a locking device that prevents the flap from being lowered from the open position. The flip is lifted to unlock it. A disadvantage of this hinge is that the locking means on the hinge, which is adapted to the hinge movement, is bulky and does not adapt to differently sized flip covers and the movement of the flip covers is predetermined by the hinge and its pivot axis.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a piece of furniture with a pivoting flap which can be pivoted by a simple pivoting mechanism having a compact construction and which is independent of the retaining device.
This object is solved by a piece of furniture according to one aspect of the invention and a method according to another aspect of the invention.
In the piece of furniture according to the invention, the pivotable flap is pivotable by means of at least two hinges which are fixed to the top panel and can be locked in the open position by means of a retaining device which is designed as at least one retaining hinge which is mounted on the top panel or in a side wall and which is connected to the flap by means of a pivotable hinge section. Thus, a plurality of hinges and at least one retaining hinge may be provided to pivot the flip, which may be positioned and mounted according to its size and length. A heavier flip may also have more than two hinges and more than one retaining hinge, so that the pivoting mechanism can be designed according to the weight of the flip. In addition, it is also possible to use the product for a pivoting door as a hinge, and therefore expensive special production is not required. In addition, the retaining hinges are designed such that they can follow the pivoting movement of the hinges independently of their movement path. This allows the retaining hinge to be integrated with various hinges.
Preferably, the at least one holding hinge should be positioned at a distance from the at least two hinges. The holding hinge and the at least two hinges are manufactured as separate parts and can be positioned on the top plate, so that the mounting position can be freely selected. The retaining hinge may, for example, be centrally located between the two hinges so that gravity can be absorbed evenly when supporting and locking the flap in the open position.
For a compact design, the hinge is designed as a 4-joint hinge. This 4-joint hinge has 4 joints by which two rod pieces are mounted between a side portion and a hinge portion. This results in an optimal rotational path of the flip during opening and closing compared to a fixed rotational axis. However, the hinge can also be designed as a single-joint hinge or as a 7-joint hinge. Apart from the joint design, the hinges differ in the executable movement path of the joint arrangement. In addition to the above-described hinges, other types of hinges may be used, such as so-called plug-in hinges or drill-in hinges or flip hinges.
Another design feature of the compact structure is the integration of the retaining hinge into the side wall. The retaining hinge can be inserted into a recess of the side wall so that the interior of the furniture is not affected by the retaining hinge, i.e. the retaining hinge does not protrude into the interior. With a suitable choice of the hinge, for example a drilled-in hinge, the interior of the piece of furniture can also be unaffected or hardly affected by the hinge.
The retaining hinge preferably has a curved guide and a control element guided therein, wherein at least one, preferably a plurality of latch receptacles are provided on the curved guide in order to hold the flap in different open positions. The bending guide can be provided, for example, on both housing shells of the pivot lever, into which the pin is guided as a control element. The control element can be held, for example, on a lever which is rotatably mounted on a stationary housing which holds the hinge. When the hinge part moves, the curved guide part thus moves relative to the control element. In order to avoid the influence of gravity, the control element can preferably be pretensioned in one direction of movement, for example towards the top, by means of a spring. Alternatively, the control element can be held by friction, so that it always remains in the position guided by the track curve and does not move due to gravity.
The curved guide preferably has an opening track and a closing track separated by a plurality of projections. The opening track is a path that the control element passes when the flip is opened, and the closing track is a path that the control element passes when the flip is closed. The two rails are separated by a projection, each projection having a latch receptacle, such that each projection forms a latch receptacle for the control element to lock the flap in the respective open position. By lifting the flap, the control element can then be moved from the latch receptacle to the closing rail.
In a further embodiment, the retaining hinge has a damper which slows down the closing movement of the flap before the closed position, preferably at least in an angular range between 0 ° and 30 °. In this way, large impact noise can be avoided. A further damper can optionally be provided on the hinge, whereby this damper can be designed as a fluid damper or as a pneumatic damper, preferably as a linear damper. Alternatively, the at least one retaining hinge may brake the closing movement in a first opening range starting from a maximum opening angle, for example up to about 30 °, after which, in a further closing movement, the at least one damper may brake the at least one hinge. Alternatively, the retaining hinge may also brake the entire path in the closing direction. This allows maximum damping performance to be achieved in the open range of 90 ° to 30 ° before the closed position. For the last 30 deg., the damping effect of the hinge is sufficient. Alternatively, a holder with an undamped hinge can also be used. In this case the holder will have to cushion the entire stroke.
For stable fixation to the flap, the hinge is preferably provided with a cup-shaped hinge portion which is at least partially inserted into the aperture of the flap. This results in a particularly stable connection between the flip and the hinge.
Alternatively, an overload protection can be provided on at least one latch receiver of the bending guide, which overload protection releases the control element and enables the flap to be closed when a predetermined force on the latch receiver is exceeded. Such an overload protector for a latch mechanism is described, for example, in EP 2272400 a1, in which a part of the latch receiver is mounted such that it can be moved and is preloaded into a latched position by a spring. If the spring force is exceeded, the control element can be released from the latch receiver. An alternative to such an overload protection is described in DE 102011002212 a1, in which a part of the latch receiver is formed by a flexible spring element which, when a predetermined force is exceeded, unlocks the control element and releases it into the curved track. Corresponding mechanisms can also be provided for the retaining hinge.
At least one pawl may also be provided on the curved track to block the control element in a first direction and allow it to pass in a second, opposite direction. This prevents erroneous actuation. An example of such a detent on a curved guide is shown in EP 2208440 a 1. Other detent mechanisms may also be used.
In the method according to the invention, the flap is first lifted from the closed position and rotated into the open position. The flap is then released and lowered slightly until it is held in the open position by holding means in the form of at least one holding hinge. For unlocking, the flap can be lifted and then released again and lowered by gravity into the closed position, whereby the at least one hinge and/or the damping means on the retaining hinge brake the closing movement. By means of a swivel mechanism with at least two hinges and at least one retaining hinge, an optimized adaptation of the swivel mechanism to the flap weight and the braking process can be achieved by damping.

Detailed Description
The piece of furniture 1 comprises a cabinet-shaped furniture body 2 with a base 3, a top plate 4 and side walls 6. It may also have a rear wall 7, which rear wall 7 encloses an inner space for storing objects. The top plate 4 supports a pivoting flip 5, which flip 5 can be pivoted in an opening direction from a closed position in which the inner space is closed (fig. 1A), whereby fig. 1B and 1C show an intermediate open position and fig. 1D shows a maximum open position.
The pivoting flap 5 is pivoted by two hinges 10, which hinges 10 are fixed to the underside of the top plate 4, so that the side walls 6 are not covered by the fitting. The top panel 4 is also provided with a holding hinge 20 as holding means, and the holding hinge 20 can hold and lock the lid 5 at a plurality of open positions.
Fig. 2A and 2C show that the hinge 10 may be mounted on the top panel 4 or in the top panel 4, and the holding hinge 20 may be independently mounted on the top panel 4 or in the side wall 6 and the lid 5. The retaining hinge 20 may be mounted between two hinges 10 or laterally adjacent to the hinges 10. The side walls 6 can also be vertical partition walls between two side walls 6, not shown here.
Fig. 2C shows a piece of furniture, in which the interior is not affected by the hinge 10 and the retaining hinge 20. In this case, the hinge 10 is designed as a built-in hinge, which is built-in the receptacle on the top panel 4 and the receptacle on the flap 5 and therefore does not project into the interior of the furniture body. The holding hinge 20 is built in the housing portion in the side plate and the housing portion in the lid 5.
Fig. 3A and 3B show in detail a hinge 10, which hinge 10 has a side 11 fixable to the top plate 4, and a hinge part 12 pivotably mounted to said side 11 by means of a lever 13. The hinge portion 12 is cup-shaped and engages in an opening or hole of the flip 5. The hinge 10 is designed as a 4-joint hinge, whereby a hinge section 12 is pivotably mounted on the side section 11 by means of two parallel levers 13. Furthermore, a component 14 for adjusting the support and a component 15 for adjusting the depth are provided on the side 11, so that the flap 5 can be aligned in the closed position relative to the furniture carcass 2. The hinge 10 preferably extends less than 40 mm vertically on the underside of the top plate.
Fig. 4A to 4D show the holding hinge 20. The retaining hinge 20 includes a housing 21, and the housing 21 may be secured to the underside of the top plate 4 by fasteners. A pivot lever 23 is provided on the housing 21, and the pivot lever 23 is mounted on the housing 21 so as to be rotatable about an axis 24. A further lever 26 is rotatably mounted on the pivot lever 23 by means of a shaft 25, which is fixed to the hinge portion 22 by means of a shaft 27. The hinge part 22 is fixed to the lid 5 and moves together with the lid 5 when the lid 5 is opened and closed.
Fig. 5 shows the retaining hinge 20 in detail. The pivot lever 23 includes two housing shells 23A and 23B which form a curved guide 40 on the sides facing each other, the curved guide 40 being formed by a groove-like channel. The housing shells 23A and 23B are held together by bolts 29. The control element 31 is guided in the curved guide 40 in the form of a pin, which protrudes from the lever 30 on the opposite side. The lever 30 is held to the housing 21 so that it can rotate about an axis 32.
Furthermore, a spring 60 is provided, which spring 60 exerts a force on the lever 30 and thus generates friction, so that the lever 30 is held in place by friction against gravity.
The housing 21 is held by an optionally provided inner housing 28, which may be fixed to the underside of the top plate 4 by a fastening mechanism, not shown in detail. In addition, means for vertical and lateral adjustment may be provided to align the housing 21 relative to the inner housing 28. In the inner housing 28, a damper 33 is arranged, which damper 33 is designed as a linear damper and has a damper housing and a piston rod 35 mounted movably on the damper housing. The damper 33 may be designed as a fluid damper, in particular as an oil damper. The damper 33 is rotatably mounted about an axis 34 disposed on the housing 21. The piston rod 35 has a head on the shaft 36 at the end, which head is held by a lever 50, which lever 50 is mounted on the housing 21 so as to be rotatable about an axis 51. There is also a lever 37, which lever 37 is hinged to the pivot lever 23 by means of an axle 38. In addition, fig. 5 shows that the hinge portion 22 has a first portion 22A and an intermediate portion 22B, whereby the hinge portion 22 can also be made in one piece.
Fig. 6 shows a sectional view of the retaining hinge 20, wherein the curved guide 40 is visible on one of the housing shells 23A or 23B. The control element 31 is located in the outlet section 43 of the curved guide 40 and the hinge part 22 and the flip 5 are in the closed position. As shown in fig. 7, when the lid 5 is opened at this time, the hinge portion 22 pivots, and the lever 26 and the pivot lever 23 pivot therewith. This moves the cam guide relative to the control element 31 held by the lever 30. The control element 31 is in contact with the first projection 46 at the start ramp 44, which causes the control element 31 to be guided to the opening track 41. During the opening movement of the flap 5, the control element 31 moves along the channel-shaped opening track 41.
Fig. 8 shows a position in which the flap 5 is released after a short opening movement, so that the control element 31 has passed the first projection 46 but has not yet reached the further projections 47 and 48. In this position, the control element 31 can be moved during the closing movement of the flap 5 into the latch receiver 45 on the first projection 46. The latch receiving portion is channel-shaped and ensures that the flip 5 is locked in the open position. The locking position of the retaining hinge 20 is shown in fig. 9, in which the control element 31 is located at the latch receiver 45. If the flip 5 is now moved back into the closed position, it is lifted slightly. This causes the control member 31 to move to the start slope 55 formed on the second protrusion 47 by the movement of the lever 26 and the pivot lever 23. This moves the control element 31 to the closing track 42 located at the upper side in the figure at the curved guide 40. The flip 5 can be moved to the closed position without being locked.
During the closing movement, the damper 33 is actuated, which damper 33 is connected to the pivot rod 23 by a rod 37, which rod 37 is hinged on one side to the pivot rod 23 at a distance from its axis 24 and on the opposite side to the head of the piston rod 35. During the closing movement, the piston rod 35 is therefore retracted into the housing of the damper 33, so that a corresponding damping force can be generated which prevents the flip 5 from slamming shut due to the influence of gravity.
Fig. 11 shows the flap with the hinge part 22 in the position of the opening movement, in which the control element 31 has passed the first projection 46, and in contrast to the above-described procedure, now moved further in the opening direction until the second projection 47 has been passed. When the flap 5 is now released, the control element 31 reaches the catch on the second projection 47 and can support the flap 5 there (fig. 12). For opening, the flap 5 is lifted slightly and the control element 31 is moved at the third projection 48 against the start ramp, so that the control element 31 is guided to the closing rail 42 for the closing movement.
Fig. 13 shows the position of the flap 5, which corresponds to the maximum opening position in the locking position, since the control element 31 is held on the latch receiver by the third projection 48. In this position, the flap 5 is between 80 ° and 100 ° relative to the closed position. In order to unlock the flap 5, it is lifted slightly, so that the control element 31 climbs at the fourth projection 49 against the start ramp 61 and is guided from there into the closing rail 42 (fig. 14).
The flap 5 can now be closed by gravity, so that no active intervention by the user is required during the closing movement. As shown in fig. 15 and 16, the control element 31 moves along the closing track 42 at the curved guide 40 until the closed position shown in fig. 6 is reached. A comparison of fig. 14 and 16 shows that during the closing movement of the damper, the piston rod 35 is retracted into the housing of the damper 33, so that the flap 5 is arrested at a predetermined angle during the closing movement. Alternatively, a spring may be arranged in the damper 33, which spring acts on the piston rod 35 so that the piston rod is automatically retracted or extended depending on the connection with the pivot rod 23. In this way, it is ensured that the flip 5 reliably reaches the closed position. It may also be provided that a spring acts on another component, for example the pivoting lever 23, 37 or 50 or the piston rod 35, to move the piston rod relative to the damper 33, so that the flap 5 reaches the closed position. Instead of a linear damper, a rotary damper can also be used, whereby the spring can also drive the rotary damper for a safe closed position.
In the illustrated embodiment, the curved guide 40 includes three projections 46, 47 and 48 with latch receivers. It is of course also possible to provide only one, two or more than three projections for locking the control element 31.
