The invention discloses an automatic wiper system based on image recognition, which comprises a front windshield, a vehicle event data recorder camera, a controller, a BCM controller and an automatic wiper, wherein the camera is used for collecting images, raindrop characteristics are extracted from the images for analysis and processing, and finally a wiper control instruction is sent to the BCM controller; and the raindrop characteristic analysis processing module continues to process the raindrop characteristics acquired in the previous step and calculates the size of the raindrop. The system integrates a raindrop recognition algorithm in the driving recorder controller, and judges the size of raindrops by using an image recognition method. The effect of rainfall sensor detection is realized under the condition that the cost is not increased, the cost of a single rainfall sensor is reduced, and the level of the whole vehicle is improved.

and if the raindrop value is in the interval 3, sending a command of controlling the high-speed operation of the wiper to the BCM controller.
Compared with the prior art, the invention has the beneficial effects that: the system integrates a raindrop recognition algorithm in the driving recorder controller, and judges the size of raindrops by using an image recognition method. The effect of rainfall sensor detection is realized under the condition that the cost is not increased, the cost of a single rainfall sensor is reduced, and the level of the whole vehicle is improved.

An automatic windscreen wiper system based on image recognition comprises a front windscreen, a vehicle event data recorder camera, a controller, a BCM controller and an automatic windscreen wiper, wherein images are collected through the camera, raindrop characteristics are extracted from the images for analysis and processing, a windscreen wiper control instruction is finally sent to the BCM controller, the vehicle event data recorder camera collects images of raindrop falling and transmits the images to the vehicle event data recorder controller, and the controller calls a raindrop characteristic recognition algorithm to extract characteristics similar to raindrops in the images; the raindrop characteristic analysis processing module continues to process the raindrop characteristics obtained in the previous step, and calculates the size of raindrops;
the automatic wiper control output module defines three different intervals according to the calculated raindrop size value:
if the raindrop value is in the interval 1, sending a command of controlling the intermittent operation of the wiper to the BCM controller;
if the raindrop value is in the interval 2, sending a command of controlling the low-speed operation of the wiper to the BCM controller;
and if the raindrop value is in the interval 3, sending a command of controlling the high-speed operation of the wiper to the BCM controller.
