Description

Banknote processing system
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a banknote handling system, and is suitably applied to a banknote handling system that performs sorting processing of banknotes according to a predetermined rule, for example.
Background
In a branch office, a business office, or the like of a financial institution, a large number of banknotes sent to a window are often handled by a teller machine for a teller. The banknotes sorted at the respective branch lines are collected in the cash center, and sorted at the cash center into banknotes that are returned to the central bank and banknotes that are returned to the market. In the sorting, the sorting process is repeated once again in each branch line, such as the sorting in the direction of the banknotes and the sorting of the banknotes due to damage, at the cash center.
In recent years, a technique has been disclosed in which a predetermined classification format can be obtained by combining the first assignment and the second assignment when the re-discrimination processing is performed (see patent document 1).

Detailed Description
Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
(1) First embodiment
In fig. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes a banknote processing system according to a first embodiment as a whole. The banknote handling system 1 includes a window teller machine 100 as an example of a first banknote handling apparatus and a banknote sorting apparatus 200 as an example of a second banknote handling apparatus. In the banknote handling system 1, the bundle of banknotes is first sorted by the window teller machine 100, and the bundle of banknotes subjected to the first sorting is second sorted by the banknote sorting device 200, whereby sorting arrangement according to a predetermined rule is performed. The predetermined rules include a denomination of a banknote, a count of a positive loss of a banknote, a count of a direction of a banknote, a count of a new banknote or an old banknote, and a combination thereof. According to the banknote handling system 1, it is possible to efficiently perform the sorting process of the damaged banknotes returned to the central bank and the normal banknotes reused at the bank branch by using both the window teller machine 100 and the banknote sorting device 200, for example.
Here, the window teller machine 100 is a banknote handling device (tcr (teller case recycle)) operated by a staff member, and is installed in a window or the like of a financial institution (a branch bank or the like of a bank) to perform a first sorting of a banknote bundle (one or more of the denomination of a banknote, the normal damage of a banknote, the direction of a banknote, and the new and old sorting of a banknote). The window recycler 100 outputs the tally information 301 about the result of the first tally performed. The window Teller Machine 100 may be an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) or a CD (Cash Dispenser) operated by a customer to perform a transaction, which is installed in a bank, a convenience store, a department store, an airport, or the like.
The banknote sorting device 200 is installed in a cash center or the like that collects and manages banknotes from the window teller machine 100, and performs a second sorting based on a result of the first sorting. The second denomination is one or more of the denomination of the banknote, the normal damage of the banknote, the direction of the banknote, and the new or old denomination of the banknote, and the banknote sorting device 200 may receive the sorting information 301 output by the windowed deposit and withdrawal machine 100, determine the processing contents of one or more sorts of banknotes not subjected to the processing by the windowed deposit and withdrawal machine 100 in a predetermined rule as the processing contents of the second denomination based on the sorting information 301, or determine the processing contents of the second denomination by a worker who confirms the sorting information 301.
For example, when the first sorting is performed by the window teller machine 100, the sorting information 301 including the content information of the sorting performed by the window teller machine 100 and the batch 302 of the sorted banknotes are transported to the cash center by the transport vehicle 303, received by the banknote sorting device 200, and the batch 302 of the banknotes is subjected to the second sorting by the banknote sorting device 200 based on the sorting information 301. For example, as the second sorting, the banknote sorting device 200 aligns the direction of the banknotes and sorts the banknotes into banknotes returned to the market and banknotes returned to the central bank.
Note that the sorting information 301 may be configured to be printed on a medium such as a receipt in the window teller machine 100 and read by the banknote sorting device 200 to be acquired, may be input by a staff member from the medium by the banknote sorting device 200, may be transmitted from the window teller machine 100 to the banknote sorting device 200, or may be transmitted from the window teller machine 100 to the banknote sorting device 200 by another configuration.

(Structure of paper money sorting device)
Fig. 4 is a diagram for explaining a main structure of the banknote sorting device 200. The unit of banknote processing by the banknote sorting device 200 is appropriately referred to as a second processing unit.
As shown in fig. 4, the banknote sorting device 200 includes a banknote recognition unit 205 having various sensors (an identification number reading sensor 201, a number detection sensor 202, a scanner 203, and a damaged banknote detection sensor 204), a distribution gate 206, a pocket 207, and a hopper 208. The hopper 208 is an insertion unit for the banknotes 400, and delivers the inserted banknotes 400 one by one and sequentially conveys them to the banknote classification unit 205. The bill discriminating unit 205 performs sorting (scrutiny) such as counting, authenticity determination, and normal damage separation processing for the bills 400 delivered from the hopper 208 using various sensors. The distribution gate 206 distributes the banknotes 400 examined by the banknote classification section 205. The pocket 207 is composed of a reject pile 207A, a pile 207B, and a pile 207C, and has an opening portion through which the banknotes 400 can be taken out on the front surface of the apparatus (the side surface on which the hopper 208 is provided).
Fig. 5 is a diagram showing an example of the structure of the banknote sorting device 200. The banknote sorting device 200 includes a banknote processing unit 210, a display input unit 220, a communication unit 230, a storage unit 240, and a reader 250. The banknote processing unit 210 includes an identification number reading sensor 201, a number-of-sheets detecting sensor 202, a scanner 203, a damaged banknote detecting sensor 204, a distribution gate 206, a pocket 207, a hopper 208, a main control unit 211, a ROM212, and a RAM 213. The main control unit 211 is connected to an identification number reading sensor 201, a number-of-sheets detecting sensor 202, a scanner 203, a damaged banknote detecting sensor 204, a distribution gate 206, a pocket 207, a hopper 208, a ROM212, and a RAM 213. The display input unit 220, the communication unit 230, the storage unit 240, and the reader 250 are connected to the main control unit 211.
The main control unit 211 reads a program stored in the ROM212 into the RAM213 and executes the program, thereby controlling each connected unit. Note that, although the case where the main control unit 211 performs control by executing a program (software) is described as an example, the present invention is not limited to this, and may be controlled by hardware such as a circuit or may be controlled by a combination of software and hardware.
The display input unit 220 is a display with a touch panel or the like, has a display function and an input function, and displays information to the operator or receives input operation by the operator. The display input unit 220 may have a display function and an input function by separate devices, such as a display unit (display, etc.) and an input unit (key, etc.). The communication unit 230 transmits and receives information to and from an external device (the teller machine 100, a control device 800 described later, and the like) via a network. The storage unit 240 is a storage device such as a hard disk, and stores various information such as banknote identification information 241, normal/damaged separation reference information 242, and banknote image information 243. The reader 250 is a code reader or the like capable of reading a two-dimensional code.
Conventionally, the second processing unit of the banknote sorting device performs sorting of banknotes, such as the denomination of banknotes, the direction of banknotes, and the freshness of banknotes, but if all of the sorting is performed, a large-sized device is required, and a lot of time is required. In this regard, in the present embodiment, by omitting the sorting (sorting) of the first processing unit in the window teller machine 100 for the second processing unit, the time taken by the second processing unit can be reduced, and the business related to the banknote processing can be made efficient. The following explains an example of the score.
(sorting example 1: example of previously discriminating the directions of banknotes)
For example, each of the plurality of banknote cassettes 105 to 108 of the window teller machine 100 is provided in correspondence with the denomination of the banknote (for example, 1000 yen, 2000 yen, 5000 yen, 10000 yen), and the banknote is received in only 2 directions (for example, front and forward and front and reverse directions) for the first processing unit, and is stored separately in the upper storage section and the lower storage section of the banknote cassettes 105 to 108, and the banknotes in the other directions are returned to the withdrawal and return slot 102, whereby the denomination of the banknote and the direction of the banknote can be matched.
In other words, the recognition unit 103 recognizes whether or not the direction of the banknotes received from the deposit port 101 coincides with a predetermined direction, and the main control unit 111 controls so that the banknotes are stored in the banknote cassette corresponding to the denomination of the banknotes when the direction of the banknotes recognized by the recognition unit 103 coincides, and the banknotes are returned to the withdrawal and return port 102 when the direction of the banknotes recognized by the recognition unit 103 does not coincide, so that the banknotes are separated according to the denomination and direction of the banknotes.
Here, the direction of the bill is a combination of the front and back surfaces, and the forward direction (upright direction) and the reverse direction (inverted direction), and the bill is loaded into the deposit port 101 in any one of 4 directions of the front surface and the forward direction, the front surface and the reverse direction, and the back surface and the forward direction, the back surface and the reverse direction.
In the sorting example 1, the example in which the direction of the banknotes is only 2 directions determined in advance has been described, but the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 may be configured such that the storage units are 3 and only 3 directions are received, or may be configured such that the storage units are 4 and all directions (4 directions) are received.
When the number of denominations to be processed is small, for example, 2-directional banknotes may be received by the banknote cassette 105 and the banknote cassette 106. In a country or a region where customers have a habit of aligning in advance, only banknotes in a specific 1 direction may be received, and banknotes in the other 3 directions may be returned to the withdrawal/return port 102.
(sorting example 2: an example of previously discriminating the proper damage of a bill)
The normal damage sorting (normal damage separation process) of the banknotes is a process of determining whether a true banknote is a normal banknote or a damaged banknote among the banknotes classified into the true banknote and the counterfeit banknote by the authenticity determination based on the normal damage separation reference information 242 (threshold value of the normal damage level), and physically distinguishing the normal banknote from the damaged banknote. For example, each of the plurality of banknote cassettes 105 to 108 is provided corresponding to the denomination of the banknote, and the threshold value (normal damage parameter) of the normal damage level of the banknote is set to be the same as the denomination of the banknote for the first processing unit based on the guidance of the cash center, whereby the normal banknotes are stored in the lower storage sections of the banknote cassettes 105 to 108, the damaged banknotes are stored in the upper storage section, and the normal damage and the denomination can be classified for the first processing unit.
In other words, the recognition unit 103 recognizes whether the banknote received from the deposit port 101 is a normal banknote or a damaged banknote, and the main control unit 111 controls so that the banknote recognized as a normal banknote by the recognition unit 103 and the banknote recognized as a damaged banknote are stored in different storage units (upper storage unit or lower storage unit) of the banknote cassette corresponding to the denomination, and thus the banknote can be sorted according to the denomination and the normal damage of the banknote.
In addition, when the window teller machine 100 and the banknote sorting apparatus 200 do not have the same damaged banknote detection sensor, the damaged banknote detection sensor may be replaced by a conversion table that can convert the normal damage parameter.
In the above sorting example 2, as in the sorting example 1, for example, in a country or a region where the number of denominations to be processed is small, the normal banknotes and the damaged banknotes may be discriminated by the banknote cassette 105 and the banknote cassette 106.
(sorting example 3: an example of previously discriminating between new and old banknotes)
The new and old sorting (new and old separation process) of banknotes is a process of classifying banknotes having the same denomination into the same sequence by banknote determination, and sorting banknotes having the same value but different forms, such as old banknotes and new banknotes. For example, by providing each of the plurality of banknote cassettes 105 to 108 corresponding to the denomination of the banknote, storing new banknotes in the lower storage section of the banknote cassette, and storing old banknotes in the upper storage section, the banknote can be classified into new banknotes and old banknotes for the first processing unit.
In other words, the recognition unit 103 recognizes that the new banknote received from the deposit port 101 is the old banknote and the main control unit 111 controls the banknotes recognized as the new banknote by the recognition unit 103 and the banknotes recognized as the old banknote to be stored in different storage units (upper storage unit or lower storage unit) of the banknote cassette corresponding to the denomination, so that sorting can be performed according to the denomination and the new or old banknote.
In the above-described sorting example 3, as in the sorting example 1, for example, in a country or a region where the types of banknotes are small, a new banknote and an old banknote may be distinguished by the banknote cassette 105 and the banknote cassette 106.
If supplementary, a plurality of the above-mentioned score examples 1 to 3 may be combined.
As described above, the stack 302 of banknotes sorted by the first processing unit is delivered to the cash center in association with information (the sorting information 301) such as "what sort was performed". This association is performed, for example, by adding this information (for example, a serial number capable of identifying the first processing unit) to the bunch of banknotes 302 and the bet information 301 set for each bunch of banknotes 302. The score information 301 may be directly printed on a medium such as a receipt by the printing device 170, may be printed as a two-dimensional code, or may be a combination thereof as shown in fig. 6, for example.
The staff member of the banknote sorting apparatus 200 of the banknote stack 302 that has received the banknotes knows which process has been performed based on the sorting information 301, and therefore inputs the process contents via the display input unit 220 of the banknote sorting apparatus 200 of the cash center, whereby the banknote sorting apparatus 200 can perform sorting (sorting) that has not been performed yet.
Further, the staff member may be configured to read the denomination information 301 into the reader 250 of the banknote sorting apparatus 200 (receive the denomination information 301 output from the window teller machine 100), and automatically determine the required denomination in the banknote sorting apparatus 200 (cash center) based on the denomination information 301.
For example, as in example 1 of item 501 shown in fig. 7, which is performed by the window teller machine 100, the denomination and direction of the banknotes are sorted by the first process, and when the new and old sorting is not necessary, as shown in item 502 shown in fig. 7, the banknote sorting device 200 does not need to sort the denominations, directions, and new and old sorting, and the banknote sorting device 200 can determine the process contents of only sorting of the banknotes that are just worn out. Note that, as in example 2 shown in fig. 7, the denomination and the normal damage of the banknotes are sorted by the first process, and when the new and old sorting is not required, the normal damage of the banknotes is not required in the second process, and the banknote sorting device 200 can determine the processing contents of only the sorting in the direction not yet performed.
In this way, the banknote sorting device 200 can receive the sorting information 301 output from the teller machine 100 through the window by an appropriate method, and perform the second sorting based on the sorting information 301. With this configuration, it is not necessary to perform the sorting performed on the first processing unit for the second processing unit such as the cash center, and the processing amount of the second processing unit can be reduced.
Examples 1 to 6 shown in fig. 7 are merely examples, and there may be various combinations of items, but in any combination, items performed on the first processing unit can be omitted from the second processing unit, so that the processing amount can be reduced, and large-scale equipment investment is not required.
In the present embodiment, the window teller machine 100 provided in the branch line is described, but the same configuration can be applied to other devices such as an ATM.
In addition, although the present embodiment has been described with an example in which the banknote sorting apparatus 200 reads the sorting information 301 printed on the medium by the window teller machine 100, the window teller machine 100 may be configured to transmit the sorting information 301 to the banknote sorting apparatus 200 via the communication unit 150, and the banknote sorting apparatus 200 may receive the sorting information 301 via the communication unit 230.
The present embodiment is not limited to the above, and for example, the contents of the predetermined second sorting process performed by the banknote sorting device 200 of the cash center may be displayed on the display input unit 220 (an example of a display unit) so that the staff member can confirm the contents. For example, the contents of processing for performing the predetermined second counting by the banknote counting machine 200 may be input through the display input unit 220 (an example of an input unit) so that the worker can determine whether to perform the second counting. For example, when the second score includes a plurality of processing contents, the worker may display the plurality of processing contents in the processing order via the display input unit 220, and may confirm, change, or delete the processing order of each processing content, add or select a processing content to another processing, or the like.
According to the banknote handling system 1, the sorting of banknotes can be appropriately controlled.
(2) Second embodiment
In the banknote handling system 2 of the present embodiment, one or more window depositing and dispensing machines 100 and one or more banknote sorting devices 200 are connected. In the present embodiment, differences from the first embodiment will be mainly described, and descriptions of the same configurations will be omitted as appropriate.
Fig. 8 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of the banknote handling system 2. The bill handling system 2 is configured to include a plurality of window terminals (a plurality of devices such as the plurality of window depositing/dispensing machines 100 and the plurality of ATMs 600 which deposit bills of customers, etc., are provided in a branch line, hereinafter, these are collectively referred to as window terminals as appropriate), a plurality of bill sorting devices 200, a bill information management server 700, and a control device 800. In the banknote handling system 2, the second sorting is performed by one banknote sorting device 200 selected from the plurality of banknote sorting devices 200. The configuration of the window terminal is the same as that of the window teller machine 100, and therefore, the description thereof is omitted.
The window terminal is communicably connected to the bill information management server 700 in the bank via the network. Note processing performed by the window terminal is the first processing unit described in the first embodiment, and note processing performed by the note sorting device 200 in the cash center is the second processing unit described in the first embodiment.
In the cash center, damaged banknotes returned to the central bank and normal banknotes returned to the market can be sorted. The bill sorting apparatus includes 1 or more bill sorting apparatuses 200 and a control apparatus 800 connected to a bill information management server 700. The control device 800 is connected to the bill information management server 700 via a network, and is connected to the bill sorting device 200 via a LAN (local area network), a USB (Universal Serial Bus), or the like.
The control device 800 is a computer or the like that selects one banknote sorting device (generates recommendation device information indicating the banknote sorting device 200 most suitable for the second processing unit) from the plurality of banknote sorting devices 200 based on the result of the first sorting performed by the window terminal. The control device 800 is connected to an output unit 801 that outputs recommendation device information, a reader 802 that can read the score information 301, and a printer 803 for printing various information. The configuration of the control device 800 is not limited to the above configuration, and for example, any one of the output unit 801, the reader 802, and the printer 803 may not be connected.
(Structure of control device)
Fig. 9 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of the control device 800. The control device 800 is configured to include an output unit 801, a reader 802, a printer 803, a CPU (central processing unit) 810, a memory 802, a storage unit 830, and a communication unit 840.
The CPU810 is an example of a processing unit that performs various processes, and realizes various functions of the control device 800 (the state acquisition unit 821, the processing content determination unit 822, the processing device selection unit 823, and the like) by reading a program stored in the storage unit 830 into the memory 820 and executing the program. Note that although the description has been given of an example in which the CPU810 realizes the functions of the control device 800 by executing the program (software), the present invention is not limited to this, and the functions of the control device 800 may be realized by hardware such as a circuit, or the functions of the control device 800 may be realized by a combination of software and hardware.
The memory 820 is a RAM, a ROM, or the like, and stores various information. The storage unit 830 is a hard disk or the like, and stores various kinds of information. The communication unit 840 transmits and receives information to and from external devices (the banknote information management server 700, the banknote sorting device 200, and the like) via a network.
The state acquiring unit 821 acquires or receives state information, which will be described later, from the banknote sorting apparatus 200 at regular intervals or at predetermined timings. The processing content determination unit 822 determines the processing content of the second score based on the score information 301. The processing device selection unit 832 selects one banknote sorting device 200 suitable for executing the processing content determined by the processing content determination unit 822, based on the sorting information 301 and the status information.
Note that the bill information management server 700 is a computer or the like, and is configured to include a processing unit (CPU or the like) that performs various processes, a storage unit (RAM, ROM, hard disk, or the like) that stores various information, and a communication unit that transmits and receives information to and from an external device via a network, which is not shown in the drawings. The processing unit reads out the program stored in the storage unit and executes the program, thereby realizing various functions of the banknote information management server 700. Note that the function of the banknote information management server 700 is not limited to being realized by the processing unit executing a program (software), and the function of the banknote information management server 700 may be realized by hardware such as a circuit, or the function of the banknote information management server 700 may be realized by a combination of software and hardware.
(first operation example of banknote handling System)
The operation of the banknote handling system 2 (e.g., the efficiency of banknote sorting) will be described with reference to fig. 10. Here, the description is given by taking an example in which the worker handles banknotes taken by the customer using the window terminal, but the present invention is not limited to this, and may be a form in which the customer deposits directly on the window terminal or a form in which deposits are made using a window terminal outside the shop, for example.
If a worker deposits banknotes of a customer into the window terminal, the main control unit 111 of the window terminal sorts the banknotes based on the information obtained from the recognition unit 103, and stores the banknotes in the corresponding banknote cassettes 105 to 109.
Identification information 304 including a serial number capable of identifying the first processing unit relating to the banknote stack 302 is associated with the banknote stack 302 of each banknote sorted by the plurality of window terminals. Note that the processing contents (the sorting information 301 including the serial number, the device number, information indicating the denomination of the banknote, the number of banknotes, the direction of the banknote, the damage of the banknote, the authenticity of the banknote, and the like) performed by the first processing unit are periodically transmitted (notified) to the banknote information management server 700 at a predetermined timing, in accordance with a predetermined operation, or in real time.
The sorting information 301 may be in units of a predetermined money stack 302 of banknotes, and may be, for example, for each device, for each banknote cassette, for each specific bundle, or the like. In the following, an example of sorting each banknote cassette will be described.
Further, the money stack 302 of banknotes sorted through the plurality of window terminals is sent to the cash center by the transport vehicle 303 together with the identification information 304.
Upon receiving the sorting information 301, the bill information management server 700 transmits the information to the control device 800 disposed in the cash center. Upon receiving the sorting information 301 from the banknote information management server 700, the control device 800 determines (decides) which banknote sorting device 200 should perform what sort processing. When the operator notified of the transmission of the denomination information 301 from the banknote information management server 700 to the mobile terminal of the operator reads the identification information 304 (serial number) by the reader 802, information relating to the denomination information 301 corresponding to the identification information 304 (serial number) (which may be the contents of processing performed in the first denomination or the contents of processing scheduled to be performed in the second denomination) is displayed, and the predetermined banknote sorting device 200 performs the sorting operation with reference to the displayed contents.
In a large-sized cash center equipped with a plurality of banknote sorting devices 200, the control device 800 can display information indicating one selected from the plurality of banknote sorting devices 200 suitable for sorting a banknote bundle of serial numbers read by the reader 802. According to this display, the operator can perform sorting by the banknote sorting device 200 suitable for sorting. The control device 800 manages status information (application status, operation status, and the like) indicating various statuses of the plurality of banknote sorting devices 200, and the control device 800 can select and determine a banknote sorting device 200 suitable for performing the second sorting process based on the status information and the sorting information 301.
The control device 800 may determine an appropriate banknote sorting device 200 by using, as the operation state of each banknote sorting device 200, information on the presence of a banknote sorting device 200 that cannot be used due to a failure or the like, the state of the pocket 207 of each banknote sorting device 200 (a case where the application is degraded due to a partial failure of the pocket 207, the remaining banknotes left behind, or the like).
The control device 800 may determine an appropriate banknote sorting device 200 by using, as the application state of each banknote sorting device 200, information on at least one of the number of waiting processes, and the specification (specification information) of the banknote sorting device 200, or information on a combination thereof.
The control device 800 may be determined by combining the operation state and the application state. For example, the control device 800 specifies the operating banknote sorting device 200 based on the operation state of each banknote sorting device 200. Then, the control device 800 selects the banknote sorting device 200 capable of processing the second sorting from the banknote sorting devices 200 in operation, based on the items to be processed (processing contents) and the specification information determined based on the sorting information 301. At this time, when a plurality of banknote sorting devices 200 are selected, the control device 800 selects a banknote sorting device 200 capable of performing the second sorting first, based on, for example, one or both of the number of waiting processes and the number of waiting processes, and the specification information.
The operator reads the identification information 304 (serial number) by the reader 250 provided in the banknote sorting device 200, and sets (batch management) the sorting contents for the subsequent processing. The serial numbers are notified from the control device 800 to the respective banknote sorting devices 200 in advance, and if a serial number different from the notification is read, the message is displayed on the display input unit 220 (screen) of the banknote sorting device 200, so that the operator can select continuation or suspension. In other words, the serial number is read by the reader 250 of the banknote sorting device 200, and the main control unit 211 determines whether or not a serial number different from the serial number transmitted from the control device 800 is read by the reader 250. When the main control unit 211 determines that a serial number different from the serial number transmitted from the control device 800 has been read by the reader 250, the display and input unit 220 displays a message that a serial number that is not the processing target has been read by the reader 250. When a serial number different from the serial number transmitted from the control device is read by the reader, the display input unit 220 inputs the selection of continuation and interruption of sorting of the banknote bundle having the different serial number.
Note that the display input unit 220 of the banknote sorting device 200 may be provided with instructions for sorting items, setting contents, and procedures based on the serial number. For example, when the sorting items are the normal damage of the banknotes and the sorting in the direction of the banknotes, in the case where the 8 pockets 207 of the banknote sorting device 200 are provided, the setting contents of performing the normal damage of the banknotes and the primary sorting in the direction of the banknotes may be listed as the setting contents, and in the case where the 4 pockets 207 of the banknote sorting device 200 are provided, the setting contents of performing the normal damage of the banknotes after performing the sorting in the direction of the banknotes may be listed as the setting contents.
Here, the control device 800 stores, in the storage unit 830, correspondence information obtained by associating the serial number read by the reader 802 with the banknote sorting device 200 that is to process the banknote bundle having the serial number, and status information on each of the plurality of banknote sorting devices 200. Therefore, the banknote sorting device 200 selected for the second sorting process may acquire the status information of the banknote sorting device 200 that should process the banknote bundle with the different serial number when the serial number different from the serial number of the banknote bundle that should be processed by the device itself is read, and may perform the same sorting process when the status information is compared with the status information of the device itself and the matching rate is equal to or higher than a predetermined matching rate, so that the banknote bundle with the different serial number is received and the second sorting process is executed.
The above example shows an example in which the reader 250 is provided in the banknote sorting device 200, but when the reader 250 is not provided, the serial number may be input to the display and input unit 220 of the banknote sorting device 200.
Further, even if the control device 800 is not connected to the banknote sorting device 200, the operator can operate the banknote sorting device in accordance with an instruction from the output unit 801 that outputs the contents of the predetermined sorting process. The output unit 801 is, for example, a display, and normally displays predetermined contents of the sorting process on a screen, but may be configured to print the predetermined contents of the sorting process to a printer 803 or the like connected to the control device 800.
In the above example, the control device 800 determines the appropriate banknote sorting device 200 for the stack 302 in which banknotes are to be processed, but the order of processing and the banknote sorting device 200 may be changed depending on the actual situation by, for example, an operator who actually performs the work.
(second operation example of banknote handling System)
In the first operation example, the window terminal and the bill sorting apparatus 200 are described as an example of being connected to the bill information management server 700, but fig. 11 illustrates a case where such a large-scale system is not used.
The window terminal stores the count information 301 on the result of the first count for the banknote bundle in a medium 305 (which may be paper, a contact or noncontact IC (integrated circuit) card, an IC tag, a storage medium such as a cd (compact disc), or another medium). The medium 305 storing contents such as the denomination information 301 is sent to the cash center together with the money stack 302 of the banknotes sorted by the window terminal.
The medium 305 includes the denomination information 301 such as the denomination and the number of sheets to be sorted for the first processing unit, and the information is read by the reader 802 of the control device 800 disposed in the cash center, whereby information indicating the appropriate banknote sorting device 200 can be output. The other configurations are the same as those described with reference to fig. 10.
In the above example, the example in which the operation is performed in accordance with the information output by the control device 800 has been described, but for example, the control device 800 may manually designate the banknote sorting device 200 to be used (may receive a user operation for changing the determined banknote sorting device 200 via an input unit (a pointing device, a keyboard, or the like) not shown) because the banknote sorting device 200 is out of order due to a failure or a processing state, for example.
(Collection and analysis of information)
As shown in fig. 12, the analysis device 900 collects information on the processing results of one or more control devices 800, for example, data obtained by a worker performing different operations according to the notification results of the control devices 800, and thereby can determine a better order of selection and setting of the banknote sorting device 200.
For example, the analysis device 900 may compare the instruction (determination result) collected once a month with the actual processing, and instruct the control device 800 to exclude the instruction from the selected object when it is determined that the predetermined banknote sorting device 200 is not used. For example, when analyzing that a predetermined banknote sorting device 200 is often used for the first time, the analyzer 900 may instruct the controller 800 to increase the priority and perform a determination corresponding to the actual sorting situation.
In this way, the control device 800 can efficiently process bills sent from the sorting lines by appropriately determining (selecting) the plurality of bill sorting devices 200 in accordance with an instruction (analysis result) from the analysis device 900.
The analysis device 900 is a computer or the like, is not shown, and includes a processing unit (CPU or the like) that performs various processes, a storage unit (RAM, ROM, hard disk, or the like) that stores various information, and a communication unit that transmits and receives information to and from an external device via a network. The processing unit reads the program stored in the storage unit and executes the program, thereby realizing various functions of the analysis device 900. Note that the functions of the analysis device 900 are not limited to the case where the functions of the analysis device 900 are realized by the processing unit executing the program (software), and the functions of the analysis device 900 may be realized by hardware such as a circuit, or the functions of the analysis device 900 may be realized by a combination of software and hardware.
(3) Third embodiment
In the present embodiment, a method of matching the window terminal and the grade of the damaged state of the banknotes (damaged grade) in the banknote sorting apparatus 200 will be described.
In the cash center, for example, the normal damage level of the banknote sorting apparatus 200 is changed to control the amount of banknotes to be distributed to the market.
Therefore, in order to make the processing in the cash center efficient, it is appropriate to synchronize the normal damage level of the acquisition window terminal side and the normal damage level of the banknote sorting apparatus 200.
In the present embodiment, as shown in fig. 13, each banknote sorting apparatus 200 transmits the set normal damage parameter 1000 to the control apparatus 800, the control apparatus 800 transmits the received normal damage parameter 1000 to the server 700, and the server 700 transmits the received normal damage parameter 1000 to the window terminal. With this configuration, the normal damage level of the banknote sorting apparatus 200 (center terminal) can be matched with the normal damage level of the window terminal (market terminal).
The damage-correction parameter 1000 is preferably transmitted directly to the window terminal and automatically changed, but may be transmitted to a portable terminal of a worker having a display screen, and manually operated by the worker to change the damage-correction level setting.
Even if the normal damage level of the banknote sorting apparatus 200 is changed as described above, the banknote sorting apparatus 200 can omit the normal damage sorting process of the banknotes according to the result of the normal damage sorting of the banknotes at the window terminal by setting the normal damage parameter used for the normal damage sorting of the banknotes by the banknote sorting apparatus 200 to the normal damage parameter used for the normal damage sorting of the banknotes at the window terminal.
Further, although the normal damage parameter of the window terminal can be changed in accordance with the normal damage parameter of the banknote sorting apparatus 200, if the window terminal is applied in accordance with the normal damage parameter 1000 from the banknote sorting apparatus 200, there is a possibility that, for example, many banknotes collected as damaged banknotes increase and normal banknotes in the window become insufficient. In such a case, the normal damage parameter (the threshold value for changing the damage level) can be adjusted in accordance with the amount of banknotes that can be used in the window (for example, the amount of banknotes in the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 that store normal banknotes). The adjustment may be performed manually or automatically. For example, when the number of normal banknotes is equal to or less than a predetermined number, the window terminal automatically adjusts the normal damage parameter by lowering the threshold of the normal damage level to a predetermined value.
Further, the damage correction parameter (the threshold value for changing the damage level) can be adjusted in accordance with the amount of banknotes stored in the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 (for example, the amount of banknotes stored in the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 for storing damaged banknotes). The adjustment may be performed manually or automatically. For example, when the storage rate of the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 storing damaged banknotes is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the window terminal automatically adjusts the normal damage parameter by increasing the threshold of the normal damage level to a predetermined value.
If the normal damage parameter is adjusted as described above, the normal damage level of the window terminal is different from the normal damage level of the banknote sorting device 200, and therefore the window terminal never executes the normal damage sorting in the sorting information 301. Even if the banknotes are sorted for normal damage at the window terminal, the banknote sorting device 200 sorts the banknotes for normal damage.
(4) Fourth embodiment
It is desirable for customers coming to the bank that the banknotes taken out of the window teller machine 100 and accepted from the staff, the banknotes taken out of the automat (ATM600 or CD (cash dispenser)), are clean banknotes.
However, in reality, in a reflow system, for example, since banknotes accepted as normal banknotes (banknotes of the lowest quality that can be reflowed, not counterfeit banknotes) are taken out again, banknotes accepted as normal banknotes include some contaminated or folded banknotes, and clean banknotes are not necessarily taken out and handed to customers.
Therefore, in order to deliver banknotes that are as clean as possible to the customer, the banknotes that are accepted as normal banknotes by the window teller machine 100 are divided into high-quality banknotes (banknotes for the automatic machine) and normal-quality banknotes (banknotes for bank maintenance) according to the quality (degree of cleanliness) of the banknotes, and the banknotes are stored.
In such a case, for example, the high-quality banknotes are stored in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A of the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 of the window teller machine 100, the normal-quality banknotes are stored in the lower storage sections 105B to 109B, and the high-quality banknotes in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A are preferentially taken out at the time of the withdrawal transaction, whereby the above-described countermeasure can be achieved. In addition, when high-quality banknotes are to be stored for replenishment to the automatic machine, the banknotes of high quality in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A may be left by preferentially dispensing normal-quality banknotes from the lower storage sections 105B to 109B.
In the case of the window teller machine 100 having a normal single-stage banknote cassette in which the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 do not include 2-stage storage units, high-quality banknotes among banknotes accepted as normal banknotes may be stored in a Recycle cassette (RB: Recycle Box) that is different for each denomination, and normal-quality banknotes may be stored in a deposit bank (AB: deposit Box) in a mixed denomination state, and only high-quality banknotes may be taken out from each banknote cassette at the time of withdrawal transaction. In this case, the banknote bundle stored in the deposit-dedicated storage with the different denominations can be sorted as necessary by the banknote sorting device 200 at the cash center, by separating the denominations, aligning the directions of the banknotes, or the like. Further, since the banknotes in the deposit-only bank have already been sorted by accepting only the normal banknotes, the banknote sorting device 200 does not need to perform the sorting process of extracting only the normal banknotes, and can efficiently sort the banknotes.
(5) Fifth embodiment
In the fourth embodiment, a description is given of a configuration for coping with the demand of a customer desiring clean bills by separating especially clean bills (high-quality bills) from normal bills and storing the bills in a predetermined storage section of the teller machine 100 (normal-quality bills). However, if only high-quality banknotes for the ATM600 are deposited, for example, the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 for the high-quality banknotes are immediately full, and the worker's labor is required for the removal of the banknotes for the deposit transaction and the like.
In contrast, a configuration will be described below in which the high-quality banknote cassette can be prevented from being immediately full of banknotes by variably adjusting (changing) the reference (threshold) for handling high-quality banknotes with respect to banknotes accepted as normal banknotes in accordance with the amount of banknotes stored in the high-quality banknote cassette.
The bill cassettes 105 to 109 of the teller machine 100 are 2-stage cassettes (DRB: Dual Recycle Box) as shown in FIG. 2, and bills of the same denomination are stored separately in the upper stage and the lower stage of one bill cassette. For example, the high-quality banknotes for the ATM600 are set with a further-divided level such as a level a (same as the new banknote, and without any fold), a level B (same as the new banknote, but with a fold), and a level C (with some folds, wrinkles, and sufficiently clean), and the threshold value (level a/B/C) of the high-quality banknotes is changed in accordance with the amount of the banknotes in the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 for the high-quality banknotes and the amount of the normal-quality banknotes separately stored. The threshold value (criterion) may be determined from other points of view (whether the bill is jammed (jam), whether the bill is soiled, etc.) or may be further divided as long as the threshold value can be determined by the bill processing unit 110 of the window teller machine 100.
(Positive loss rating setting)
Fig. 14 is a diagram showing an example of a setting screen (setting screen 1100) of the normal damage level. The setting screen 1100 may be displayed on the window teller machine 100, the banknote information management server 700, or on another display unit.
As shown in fig. 14, the setting screen 1100 includes a threshold input area 1101 for inputting (setting) threshold values of a plurality of levels respectively associated with a plurality of quality items (fold, dirt, tape, … …), a confirmation icon 1102 for registering the input threshold value, and a cancel icon 1103 for canceling the input threshold value.
The values of the normal-loss parameter input in the threshold input area 1101 are "1" to "99", and "99" indicates the best state, and indicates the bad state as the numerical value decreases. For example, when the recognition unit 103 scores a certain banknote for "98" or "99" in terms of the fold, scores "97" to "99" in terms of dirt, and scores "98" or "99" in terms of the tape, it is determined that the banknote is ranked a. When the recognition unit 103 scores a certain banknote for a fold as "92", a dirt as "95", and a tape as "82", the banknote is judged to be at the grade C. That is, when it is determined that the plurality of quality items include different ranks, the lowest rank is adopted as the rank of the banknote.
(paper money storing treatment)
Fig. 15 is a diagram showing an example of a processing procedure related to the banknote storing process.
In step S10, most of the windows teller machines 100 are initially used with almost empty banknotes in the machine, and initially high-quality (class a) banknotes are stored in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A of the banknote cassettes 105 to 109, and priority is given to the upper storage sections 105A to 109A for dispensing. The window teller machine 100 stores high-quality banknotes (class B and class C) in the lower storage sections 105B to 109B together with normal-quality banknotes.
In step S11, the window teller machine 100 executes a deposit transaction or the like to determine whether or not the lower storage units 105B to 109B have reached the first storage amount (e.g., 60% to 80%). If it is determined that the first storage amount is reached, the teller machine 100 proceeds to step S12, and if it is determined that the first storage amount is not reached, the process returns to step S10.
In step S12, the window teller machine 100 also stores high-quality (grade B) banknotes in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A. That is, the window teller machine 100 changes the setting so that high-quality banknotes (class a and class B) are stored in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A, and high-quality banknotes (class C) and normal-quality banknotes are stored in the lower storage sections 105B to 109B. The window teller machine 100 gives priority to the upper storage units 105A to 109A for dispensing.
In step S13, the window teller machine 100 executes a deposit transaction or the like to determine whether or not the lower storage units 105B to 109B have a second storage amount (e.g., 90%) greater than the first storage amount. If it is determined that the second storage amount is reached, the teller machine 100 proceeds to step S14, and if it is determined that the second storage amount is not reached, the process returns to step S12.
In step S14, the window teller machine 100 changes the setting so that high-quality banknotes (class a, class B, and class C) are stored in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A and only normal-quality banknotes are stored in the lower storage sections 105B to 109B. The window teller machine 100 gives priority to the upper storage units 105A to 109A for dispensing.
As described above, the window teller machine 100 has the levels a to C (reference) different from the normal damage level (normal damage reference), and when banknotes for withdrawal are sorted in accordance with the levels a to C, the threshold values of the levels a to C are changed in accordance with the storage amounts of the banknote cassettes 105 to 109, whereby the spaces of the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 can be effectively used, and the trouble of replacement or the like can be eliminated.
Conversely, as an initial setting, high-quality banknotes (class a, class B, and class C) may be stored in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A, but if the storage amounts of the upper storage sections 105A to 109A are a predetermined amount, a change in setting may be made such that only high-quality banknotes (class a and class B) are stored in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A, and then if the storage amounts of the upper storage sections 105A to 109A are further close to full, a change in setting may be made such that only high-quality banknotes (class a) are stored in the upper storage sections 105A to 109A. According to this configuration, the money can be dispensed from cleaner bills (comparatively clean paper money) first at the time of dispensing, and the banknote dispenser is suitable for an end user who desires clean bills.
Even when the banknote cassettes 105 to 109 of the window teller machine 100 are not of the 2-segment configuration (DRB), when the number of banknote cassettes is redundant with the number of processed banknote types, high-quality banknotes and normal-quality banknotes of the same banknote type may be stored in the respective RB, or high-quality banknotes may be stored in the RB and normal-quality banknotes may be stored in the deposit exclusive box (AB) as in the fourth embodiment. In the latter case, as in the fourth embodiment, the banknote sorting device 200 in the cash center can sort the normal quality banknotes stored in the banknote sorting machine AB in a mixed manner of denomination under the denomination and other conditions.
Accordingly, high-quality bills for the robots separately managed in the teller machine 100 in the business establishment can be directly transferred to the robots in the same business establishment without being returned to the cash center, wasteful bills such as the return of bills between the business establishment and the cash center can be eliminated, and the demand of customers for taking out clean bills can be satisfied.
As described above, according to the above embodiment, by combining the window teller machine 100 of the branch line in which the banknotes of the customer are collected and the banknote sorting device 200 of the cash center in which the banknotes are collected and sorted by normal damage, the sorting (sorting) of the banknotes can be performed without repetition, and the integrated banknote handling service can be efficiently performed.
(6) Other embodiments
In the above-described embodiment, the case where the present invention is applied to the banknote handling systems 1 and 2 has been described, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and can be widely applied to other various banknote handling systems.
The present invention can have the following features, for example.
A banknote processing system, a banknote processing method, a banknote processing apparatus, and a banknote processing program for performing sorting processing of banknotes according to a predetermined rule, the banknote processing system including: a first bill handling device (e.g., a window teller machine 100) that performs a first sorting of a bundle of bills; and a second banknote handling device (for example, the banknote sorting device 200) different from the first banknote handling device, for performing a second sorting of the banknote bundle subjected to the first sorting, based on a result of the first sorting by the first banknote handling device.
The method is characterized in that: the second banknote sorting by the second banknote handling apparatus is a combination of one or more of the denomination of the banknote, the damage of the banknote, the direction of the banknote, and the new and old sorting of the banknote.
