Description

Escalator drive chain elongation monitoring device
Technical Field
The invention relates to an escalator drive chain elongation monitoring device.
Background
The drive chain of the escalator is connected to a sprocket (otherwise known as a pinion) in a gearbox which is movably mounted on a base plate. In actual use, the gaps between the links of the drive chain gradually increase due to wear, which results in the drive chain gradually becoming longer. As the drive chain elongates, the gearbox moves horizontally on the base plate in the direction of tensioning the drive chain to re-tension the drive chain.
In the prior art, when the elongation of the drive chain reaches the maximum elongation allowed, the drive chain needs to be replaced in time. Therefore, the escalator maintenance personnel need to periodically measure the elongation of the drive chain. In the related art, a measurement scale for measuring a movement amount of a gear box is generally formed on a substrate. Since the amount of movement of the gear box is equal to the amount of elongation of the drive chain, the amount of elongation of the drive chain can be measured. However, the measuring scale formed on the base plate is covered by dust and oil dirt, and is difficult to see clearly after a long time, so that the escalator maintenance personnel cannot timely find that the elongation of the driving chain reaches the maximum elongation allowed by the escalator maintenance personnel, and potential hazards are brought to the safe operation of the escalator.

The following description of the embodiments of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings is intended to explain the general inventive concept of the present invention and should not be construed as limiting the invention.
Furthermore, in the following detailed description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the embodiments of the disclosure. It may be evident, however, that one or more embodiments may be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in schematic form in order to simplify the drawing.
According to one general technical concept of the present invention, there is provided an escalator drive chain elongation monitoring apparatus. The escalator drive chain elongation monitoring device comprises a limiting plate which is fixedly arranged on a base plate of an escalator for mounting a gear box. The gear box of the escalator is movably mounted on the base plate, and the drive chain of the escalator is connected to a sprocket in the gear box. When the elongation of the driving chain does not reach the preset elongation, the gear box is not in contact with the limiting plate. When the elongation of the drive chain of the escalator reaches the preset elongation, the gear box moves to the contact position contacted with the limiting plate.
Fig. 1 shows a schematic view of an escalator drive chain elongation monitoring device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; fig. 2 shows a partially enlarged schematic view of the escalator drive chain elongation monitoring device of fig. 1; fig. 3 shows a perspective view of the stopper plate 100 of fig. 1.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, the escalator drive chain elongation monitoring device mainly includes a limiting plate 100. The stopper plate 100 is fixedly installed on the base plate 10 of the escalator for installing the gear box 20.
As shown in fig. 1-3, in the illustrated embodiment, the gear box 20 of the escalator is movably mounted on the base plate 10, and the drive chain 40 of the escalator is connected to the sprocket 30 in the gear box 20.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, when the elongation of the driving chain 40 does not reach the preset elongation, the gear case 20 does not contact the stopper plate 100. When the extension amount of the drive chain 40 of the escalator reaches the preset extension amount, the gear box 20 moves to the contact position contacting the stopper plate 100.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, the gear box 20 moves horizontally on the base plate 10 in a direction to tension the drive chain 40 when the drive chain 40 is extended. When the elongation of the drive chain 40 of the escalator is equal to zero, the distance d in the horizontal direction between the stopper plate 100 and the gear box 20 is set to be equal to a preset elongation. Thus, the escalator maintenance personnel can conveniently and quickly know whether the elongation of the driving chain 40 reaches the preset elongation by observing whether the gear box 20 contacts the limiting plate 100.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, the preset elongation refers to the maximum elongation of the driving chain 40 allowed in actual use. When the elongation of the drive chain 40 reaches the maximum elongation that is allowed in actual use, the drive chain 40 needs to be replaced.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, the distance d is set to be not less than 1% of the initial length of the drive chain 40 and not less than 3% of the initial length of the drive chain 40. The initial length of the drive chain 40 is the length when the amount of elongation of the drive chain 40 is equal to zero.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, the aforementioned distance d (the maximum elongation allowed by the drive chain) may be set equal to 1.5%, 2.0%, or 2.5% of the initial length of the drive chain 40, depending on the level of safety.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, the stopper plate 100 includes a horizontal connection plate 110 and a vertical blocking plate 120 at an end of the horizontal connection plate 110. The horizontal connecting plate 110 is placed on the base plate 10 and fixedly connected to the base plate 10, and the vertical blocking plate 120 is adapted to abut on an outer wall of the gear case 20.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, a screw hole is formed in the base plate 10, and a connection hole 111 corresponding to the screw hole is formed in the horizontal connection plate 110. The horizontal connecting plate 110 is fixed to the base plate 10 by screws 101 passing through the connecting holes 111 and screwed into the screw holes.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, an elastic locking washer 102 is provided between the head of the screw 101 and the horizontal connecting plate 110. The resilient locking washer 102 is compressed between the head of the screw 101 and the horizontal web 110 to prevent the screw 101 from loosening.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, a first pin hole is formed in the base plate 10, and a second pin hole 113 corresponding to the first pin hole is formed in the horizontal connecting plate 110. The horizontal connection plate 110 is fixed to the base plate 10 by pins 103 inserted into the first and second pin holes 113.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, in the illustrated embodiment, the escalator drive chain elongation monitoring device further includes a trigger switch (not shown) and an alarm device (not shown). The trigger switch may be mounted on the limiting plate 100 and communicate with the alarm device. When the gear case 20 moves to the contact position contacting the stopper plate 100, the trigger switch is triggered by the gear case 20. When the trigger switch is triggered, the alarm device gives an alarm and informs the escalator maintenance personnel that the elongation of the drive chain reaches the preset elongation. Therefore, the escalator maintenance personnel can timely find and replace the drive chain with the extension reaching the preset extension.
