Abstract

Description
本发明涉及磨料制品及使用该磨料制品进行抛光的方法。更具体讲,本发明涉及一种具有水活化抛光化合物的磨料制品。
在事故或其他损坏后修复后的汽车尤其表面的制备通常涉及多阶段过程。通过在修复期间使用相对粗糙的P1500研磨盘磨光施加在表面上的油漆来启动该过程。然后使用一系列越来越精细级别的研磨盘(通常为P3000和P6000),之后进行剪切化合物,最后进行抛光来精细化磨光的表面。
因此,操作者通常必须在油漆精馏过程期间多次更换研磨盘。因为花费时间来改变工具而不是在待修复的表面上工作,所以这增加了工艺的复杂性和成本。
本发明的目的是至少减轻上面提出的问题中的一些。
根据本发明的第一方面,提供了带涂层磨料制品,该磨料制品具有

本发明的这一方面提供如下优点。当磨料浆液处于其干燥状态时,由于研磨涂料表面的固化磨料浆液的表面纹理,制品能够提供高剪切率。然而,当磨料浆液处于其溶解状态时,浆液的表面纹理破裂,降低了磨料的侵蚀性,从而允许制品向油漆表面提供高光洁度。这是有利的,因为用户启动状态改变所需的唯一操作是添加液体,例如水。不需要对磨料制品或其他工具进行任何更换。这消除了用户实施多次磨料更换以去除灰尘尖头并将油漆恢复到其原始表面的需要。
另外的显著优点是,消除了对单独液体抛光化合物的要求。当磨料涂层溶解时,它形成抛光化合物,否则必须由用户将抛光化合物添加到研磨盘。在本发明中,磨料制品可以在其润湿状态下使用,仅通过将盘安装在砂光机上并添加水来抛光基材。
优选地,经固化的浆液通过液体可软化的粘结涂层附接到背衬。
有利地,液体可软化的粘结涂层改善了磨料制品在其固态下递送高剪切以及在其溶解状态下递送高光洁度的能力。当润湿时,粘结涂层软化的能力允许磨料制品在润湿时呈现一定程度的适形能力。这种适形能力降低了剪切的侵蚀性并且允许改进的抛光作用,因为制品能够更容易地适形于油漆涂饰剂的表面。这是尤其有利的,因为表面将经常具有曲线轮廓。
优选地,粘结涂层为水凝胶。
优选地,背衬在润湿时为柔性的。
提供柔性背衬进一步促进了磨料制品在润湿时的适形能力。该柔性背衬与水可软化的粘结涂层协同作用,以允许制品适形于油漆表面的轮廓以进一步改善光洁度。
优选地,背衬为非织造纤维网或泡沫。
更优选地,背衬为热塑性幅材。
优选地,磨料浆液为紫外线光固化磨料浆液。
优选地,磨料浆液包含丙烯酰基吗啉氧化物可紫外线固化的单体。
有利的是,在紫外线固化期间,单体形成线性聚合物,该线性聚合物保持其结构刚度,从而允许表面特征在磨料制品的表面中固化,这有助于在磨料制品处于其干燥状态时递送高剪切。特别有利的是,线性聚合物溶解于水中,从而允许磨料涂层在用户添加水时溶解于抛光化合物中。

在添加液体之前,用干燥状态的制品研磨工件。
现在将仅以举例的方式参考图1描述本发明,图1示出穿过本发明的磨料制品的横截面。
图1示出以研磨盘10的形式的磨料制品。盘10适于安装在旋转抛光机或偏心轨道式砂光机,但是在本发明的范围内可设想磨料制品可用于其他形式的研磨工作。盘10具有背衬12,该背衬12具有相对的第一主表面14和第二主表面16。第一主表面14携带粘结层18。磨料涂层20位于粘结涂层18上。
背衬12由非织造热塑性幅材形成,所述非织造热塑性幅材包括在其相互接触点处粘结到彼此的开放的,膨松的三维纤维结构。此类非织造背衬在本领域中是已知的。在另选的实施方案中,背衬12为泡沫背衬,并且在本发明范围内可设想其他形式的背衬。背衬材料(无论是非织造的还是泡沫的)为柔性的,以便在润湿时提供对研磨盘10的一定程度的顺从性,如将在下文进一步详细描述的那样。
尽管粘结涂层18为本发明的任选特征,但在本发明的优选实施方案中,其具有两个主要目的。首先,粘结涂层18改善磨料涂层20对背衬的粘附性,其次提供对背衬12的刚度的一定程度的控制。如上所述,背衬12本身为柔性的。然而,在背衬上紫外线固化粘结涂层18的过程使粘结涂层18硬化,然后粘结涂层18将背衬12保持在刚性状态,而不管其本身的柔韧性。保持这种刚度,直到粘结涂层18与水(或其他液体诸如乳液或表面活性剂)接触,此时粘结涂层18软化。这具有两种效果。首先,粘结涂层18不再将背衬12保持在刚性状态,从而允许粘合剂盘10采用一定程度的顺从性。这减少了研磨盘10的剪切的侵蚀性。其次,粘结涂层允许磨料涂层20中的一定程度的移动,这进一步降低了剪切的侵蚀性。
粘结涂层18包含丙烯酰基吗啉氧化物可紫外线固化的单体,其具有高的玻璃化转变温度,在干燥时非常硬,但在其固化的线性聚合物形式中为水溶性的。这种溶解度使得粘结涂层18(以及由此粘附有粘结涂层18的背衬12)从干燥时的刚性变为润湿时的柔性。
磨料涂层20由包含多个磨料颗粒的紫外线可固化磨料浆液形成。在该实施方案中,磨料颗粒为氧化铝5μm或氧化铝14μm,但其他合适的矿石落入本发明的范围内。一旦固化,将浆液浇铸到微复制的工具中以形成结构化磨料。该过程以多边形22的形式在磨料制品上产生几何表面纹理。当研磨盘10干燥时,磨料涂层20(通过多边形22)在多边形的尖端研磨工件时递送侵蚀性剪切。
然而,与上述粘结涂层18类似,研磨浆料包含丙烯酰基吗啉氧化物(也称为ACMO),其使得研磨浆料在与水接触时能够溶解。因此,向研磨盘10中添加水使侵蚀性多边形软化和破裂。这减少了磨料制品的剪切并增加了光洁度。随着溶解的继续,释放出小的磨料颗粒(在5μm至14μm范围内的氧化铝),导致磨料浆溶解成为工件递送高光洁度的抛光化合物。
