Advantageous embodiments of the die cutting plate according to the invention and of the rotary die cutting machine according to the invention also result from the following description of exemplary embodiments and the associated drawings, in which:
FIG. 1: a die cutting roller with a die cutting plate and a counter pressure roller,
FIG. 2: the detail view of the die-cutting cylinder in figure 1,
FIG. 3: a rotary die-cutting machine with the two cylinders described above in figure 1,
FIG. 4: an expanded view of the die-cutting plate of FIG. 1, and
FIG. 5: cross-section of die-cut plate in fig. 4.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a die-cutting cylinder 6 and a counter-pressure cylinder 8, which co-operate during die-cutting of the die-cutting cylinder 6 and the counter-pressure cylinder 8. The die cutting plate 1 is for example magnetically fixed to the die cutting cylinder 6. The impression cylinder 8 has diametrically arranged cylinder channels, in which clamps for holding the sheets are arranged. The gripper and the sheet are not shown together in the figures. These grippers project beyond the periphery of the impression cylinder 8 (Peripherie) and sink into the cylinder channel of the die-cutting cylinder 6 with each revolution of the cylinder. The diameter of the impression cylinder 8 is twice the diameter of the die-cutting cylinder 6. The die cutting plate 1 has a punching tool 2, by means of which punching tool 2 holes are punched in the sheet. The punching tool 2 is a knife line (Messerlinie), and has a circular shape such as a square.
Fig. 3 shows a rotary die cutting machine in which a die cutting cylinder 6 and a counter cylinder 8 are arranged. The rotary die cutting machine is used for processing the printing page. The rotary die cutting machine can be one of the mechanisms (offset printing mechanism, oiling mechanism) arrangements (die cutting mechanism) with which the sheet printing machine (i.e. inline rotary die cutting machine) has. However, if the die cutting is performed off-line (offset), the rotary die cutter can also be arranged separately from the sheet printing press alongside the sheet printing press.
In fig. 4 and 5, it can be seen that an air passage 4 for sucking air is introduced into the die cutting plate 1, which air passage 4 is located within the annular shape of the punching tool 2.
Fig. 2 shows that a plurality of vacuum openings 5 are arranged in the form of a grid (Raster) in the circumferential surface of the die-cutting drum 6. These vacuum openings 5 belong to a vacuum line system inside the die-cutting drum 6, which comprises longitudinal lines with parallel axes and comprises transverse lines branching off from these longitudinal lines.
In fig. 1, it is shown that one of the vacuum openings 5 overlaps the air feed-through 4 in an air-conducting manner, and the remaining vacuum openings 5 are covered by the die cutting plate 1. With the die-cutting plate 1 fixed, this die-cutting plate 1 is oriented in such a way that the air feed-through 4 overlaps the vacuum opening 5 located below it.
The adhesive tape 9 is stuck to the impression cylinder 8, the longitudinal direction of the adhesive tape 9 being parallel to the rotation axis of the impression cylinder 8. The adhesive tape 9 comprises an elastic outer layer into which the punching tool 2 can cut during the die-cutting. Fig. 1 shows the cutting line left in the adhesive tape 9 by the punching tool 2. The annular shape of the punching tool 2 corresponds to the outer contour of the diecut punch 10 punched out of the sheet. When the rotary die cutting machine is adjusted, the adhesive tape 9 is stuck to the platen roller 8 by an operator. The adhesive tape 9 can be applied either directly to the circumferential surface 12 of the impression cylinder 8 or to a cylinder liner 11, which cylinder liner 11 is stretched over the circumferential surface 12. During the die cutting, the adhesive tape 9 serves as a backing for the die cutting punch 10 in the working gap, which is formed by the two cylinders 6, 8.
In the rotational position of the impression cylinder 8 shown in fig. 1, the die-cutting punch 10 is virtually no longer located on the adhesive tape 9. The die cut punch 10 is sucked in the working gap through the vacuum opening 5 aligned with the air feed-through 4 and held fixed on the die cutting cylinder 6. The diecut punch 10 is thereby separated from the sheet, which is transported further by the impression cylinder 8. However, in the rotational position of the die-cutting cylinder 6 shown in fig. 1, the die-cutting punch 10 is no longer located on the die-cutting cylinder 6. In this rotational position, the air charge to the vacuum openings 5 has been switched from vacuum to compressed air and the die-cutting punch 10 is blown by the compressed air away from the die-cutting drum 6 into an aspiration casing (Absaughaube), which is not shown in the figures.
The counter-pressure roller 8 is provided with an indexing system 7, which indexing system 7 comprises an array of letters A, B and C, which letters are arranged at uniform intervals from each other along the circumferential line of the counter-pressure roller 8 and form a scale. The indexing system 7 can be configured as a coloured marking or as an engraved pattern. Either the indexing system 7 is provided directly on the circumferential surface 12 of the impression cylinder 8 or (as shown in fig. 1) the cylinder liner 11 is provided with the indexing system 7. The indexing system 7 is located on the side edges of the circumferential surface 12 or of the drum lining 11. In a double-sized impression cylinder 8 with two sheet-bearing surfaces, two indexing systems 7 are provided in each case. In fig. 1, the markings a are actually covered by the adhesive tape 9, but are shown in a visible manner for better understanding.
Fig. 4 shows that the die cutting plate 1 has adhesive tape position markings 3 on its side edges, which adhesive tape position markings 3 can be configured as labels, color markings or engraving. The tape position markings 3 comprise an array of letters A, B and C running along the side edge, i.e. comprising the same symbols as the indexing system 7, which are arranged at uniform distances from one another. These distances are as large as the distance between the letters on the impression cylinder. When these rollers 6, 8 roll, the letters of the same name hit, i.e. a hits a, B hits B, and C hits C, respectively.
What the operator can see when setting up the machine is: the punching tool 4 is at the level of the marking B of the tape position mark 3, viewed along the side edge of the die-cutting plate 1. Based on this information, the operator can place the tape 9 in the circumferential section marked by the marking B of the indexing system 7. Thereby it is ensured that: during the die cutting, the punching tool 2 hits the adhesive tape 9.
In a modification not shown in the drawings, the letters a and C of the tape position index 3 are eliminated, and this modification includes only the letter B. In a further variant, which is not shown in the drawings, the markings B of the adhesive tape position markings 3 are not arranged at the level of the punching tool 2, but elsewhere on the die-cutting plate 1 (for example in corners). In all variants, including both variants, the adhesive tape position marking 3 (i.e. in the example at least the letter B) is firmly connected to the die cutting plate 1.
