Abstract
The invention relates to a filter tip additive for increasing the filtering capacity of a cigarette filter tip, which consists of the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 5 to 10 percent of carrageenan, 5 to 12 percent of xanthan gum, 10 to 20 percent of guar gum, 10 to 19 percent of sodium alginate, 20 to 30 percent of agar and 18 to 50 percent of active carbon. The invention is found by experiments that: the filter tip additive is added into a two-section filter tip or a three-section filter tip by 0.1-0.3 percent of the quality of the filter tip, so that the filtering effect on smoke can be enhanced, and the total particulate matter and tar content of cigarettes can be better reduced, thereby more effectively reducing tar and harm.
