Abstract
The invention relates to the technical field of display, in particular to a special-shaped display panel and a display device. The display area of the special-shaped display panel comprises a special-shaped edge display area close to a non-display area and further comprises a shading structure arranged in the special-shaped edge display area; the shading structure comprises at least one shading unit which is used for covering the opening area and is positioned on the light emergent side of each sub-pixel; the light emitting luminance of the plurality of sub-pixels in the shaped edge display area gradually increases in a direction from the non-display area toward the display area. The irregular display panel can improve the sawtooth-shaped poor display and the color difference of the edge area of the irregular display panel through the gradually increased luminous brightness of the sub-pixels in the irregular edge display area.

Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of display, in particular to a special-shaped display panel and a display device.
Background
With the rapid development of display technology, the display device is more and more widely applied in electronic equipment, so that people have higher and higher requirements on the display device, the performance indexes of the display panel, such as large size, high definition and the like, are not only met, and the shape of the display panel has higher requirements, so that the special-shaped display panel is developed.
Compared with the conventional display panel, the special-shaped display panel has the main difference that the display area of the special-shaped display panel is in a non-rectangular special shape such as a circle, an arc, a diamond, a trapezoid and the like. However, most of the pixel units in the conventional display panel are rectangular or have other regular structures, so that the boundary lines of the pixel units and the irregular display panel cannot be completely matched in the edge area of the irregular display panel, and the gradual edge area of the irregular display panel can display a jagged display defect in order to ensure the completeness of RGB pixels.
If the special-shaped display panel adopts an incomplete RGB pixel structure, the shielding proportion of R, G, B pixels is different, and the color of the mixed edge area is different; the actual covering ratio of R, G, B pixels is related to the position of the cut, so the colors at different positions often have differences, such as: when blue and green are more and red is least, the color is blue-cyan from the macroscopic aspect, and when blue is least and red or green is most, yellow or red is displayed. Therefore, the problem of color difference in the edge area of the irregular display panel needs to be solved.

the special-shaped display panel also comprises a shading structure arranged in the special-shaped edge display area; the shading structure comprises at least one shading unit which is used for covering the opening area and is positioned on the light emergent side of each sub-pixel;
the light emitting luminance of the plurality of sub-pixels in the shaped edge display area gradually increases in a direction from the non-display area toward the display area.
Preferably, along the row direction of the plurality of sub-pixels, the projection area of the light shielding structure on the plurality of sub-pixels is gradually reduced.
Preferably, the light shielding unit is located at a middle position of the corresponding opening area in a column direction of the plurality of sub-pixels.
Preferably, a projection of the light shielding unit on the opening area is rectangular.
Preferably, the width of the light shielding unit is gradually decreased in a row direction of the plurality of sub-pixels.

Referring to fig. 1 and fig. 2, in an embodiment of the invention, a special-shaped display panel 1 includes a display area 11 and a non-display area 21 surrounding the display area 11, where the display area 11 includes a special-shaped edge display area close to the non-display area 21; the display area 11 includes a plurality of sub-pixels 1111 distributed in an array; each sub-pixel 1111 is provided with an opening area; as shown in the structure of fig. 1 and fig. 2, the special-shaped display panel 1 includes a non-display area 21 disposed at the periphery and a display area 11 surrounded by the non-display area 21, and the non-display area 21 may be a frame or the like; the display region 11 includes a plurality of sub-pixels 1111, and each sub-pixel 1111 is provided with an opening region for transmitting light or emitting light such that light transmitted through the opening region forms a display image in the display region 11;
the special-shaped display panel 1 further comprises a light shielding structure 31 arranged in the special-shaped edge display area; the light shielding structure 31 includes at least one light shielding unit for covering the opening area and located at the light emitting side of each sub-pixel 1111;
the light emission luminance of the plurality of sub-pixels 1111 in the shaped edge display area gradually increases in the direction from the non-display area 21 toward the display area 11. As shown in the structure of fig. 1, the light shielding structure 31 includes a light shielding unit covering the opening area of each sub-pixel 1111, and by setting the covering area of the light shielding unit, the light transmitting area or the light emitting area of each sub-pixel 1111 can be controlled to control the light emitting brightness of each sub-pixel 1111.
The irregular display panel 1 includes the light shielding structure 31 disposed in the irregular edge display region, and the light shielding structure 31 includes the light shielding unit for covering the opening region of the pixel 1111; therefore, in the actual design and production process, part of the opening area of the corresponding sub-pixel 1111 can be shielded by the light shielding unit of the light shielding structure 31, so that the light transmission area or the light emitting area of the corresponding sub-pixel 1111 is reduced, the light emitting brightness of the corresponding sub-pixel 1111 is reduced, and the light emitting brightness of the sub-pixel 1111 in the special-shaped edge display area can be controlled by the design of the light shielding unit, when the light emitting brightness of the sub-pixels 1111 in the special-shaped edge display area is gradually increased along the direction from the non-display area 21 to the display area 11, the purpose that the display of the special-shaped edge display area gradually becomes brighter from dark can be achieved, and due to the small brightness difference between the sub-pixels 1111, the problem that the gradual change edge area of the existing special-shaped display panel can present a jagged display bad phenomenon when displaying can be solved; meanwhile, each sub-pixel 1111 is a complete sub-pixel 1111, and the problem that the luminous area of each sub-pixel 1111 is different due to cutting does not exist, so that the special-shaped display panel 1 can further solve the problem that the color difference of the edge area is caused by the irregular cutting position of the existing special-shaped display panel 1.
Therefore, the irregular display panel 1 can improve the jagged display defects and the color differences in the edge area of the irregular display panel 1 by gradually increasing the light emitting luminance of the sub-pixels 111 in the irregular edge display area.
In a specific embodiment, as shown in the structure of fig. 1, along the row direction of the sub-pixels 1111, the projection area of the light shielding structure 31 on the sub-pixels 1111 is gradually reduced.
As shown in the structure of fig. 1, since the projection area of the light-shielding structure 31 on the plurality of sub-pixels 1111 is gradually reduced along the row arrangement direction of the plurality of sub-pixels 1111, the area of the light-transmitting opening or the light-emitting opening of the sub-pixels 1111 is gradually increased along the row arrangement direction of the plurality of sub-pixels 1111, and the light-emitting luminance of the sub-pixels 1111 is also gradually increased because the opening area is gradually increased, thereby further improving the jagged display failure in the edge region of the irregular display panel.
As shown in the structure of fig. 1 and 2, the light shielding unit is located at the middle of the corresponding opening area in the column direction of the plurality of sub-pixels 1111.
The light shielding unit may be disposed at a middle position of the opening region or at one side of the opening region along the column direction of the plurality of sub-pixels 1111. Because the shading unit is located at the middle position corresponding to the opening area, when the special-shaped display panel 1 is in a display state, light of the sub-pixels 1111 can emit light around the circumferential direction of the shading unit, so that the light of the sub-pixels 1111 can be uniformly distributed, the light emitting uniformity of the special-shaped display panel 1 is improved, and the display effect of the special-shaped display panel 1 is further improved.
As shown in fig. 1 and fig. 2, the projection of the light shielding unit on the opening area may be rectangular, or may be any shape such as triangle, circle, trapezoid, square, polygon, etc.
When the projection of the light shielding unit on the opening area is rectangular or square, in order to gradually change the light emission luminance of the sub-pixels 1111, the width of the light shielding unit is gradually reduced or the length of the light shielding unit is gradually reduced along the row direction of the plurality of sub-pixels 1111, and the length and the width of the light shielding unit may also be controlled to be gradually reduced at the same time.
When the projection of the light shielding unit on the opening area is in other shapes such as a circle, gradual change of the light emission luminance can be achieved by controlling the corresponding size of the light shielding unit.
When the projection of the light shielding unit on the opening area is in a regular shape such as rectangle, triangle, circle, trapezoid, square, etc., the shape of the light shielding unit is relatively regular, so that the mask plate for manufacturing the light shielding unit is relatively easy to design, and the manufacturing time is short due to the regular shape, thereby improving the production efficiency.
On the basis of the various embodiments described above, the ratio between the projected area of the light shielding unit on the opening area and the area of the opening area is greater than 0.1 and less than 1, for example, the ratio may be specifically 0.97, 2.42, 4.61, 11.39, 13.61, 16.04, 18.70, 21.58, 24.68, 28.01, 31.58, 35.37, 39.41, 43.68, 48.20, 52.95, 57.95, 63.20, 68.70, 74.45, 80.46, 86.71.
Further, as shown in the structure of fig. 1, in the plurality of sub-pixels 1111, every adjacent three sub-pixels 1111 form a pixel unit 111; each pixel unit 111 may include one sub-pixel 1111 of a first color, one sub-pixel 1111 of a second color, and one sub-pixel 1111 of a third color, and the first color may be red, the second color may be green, and the third color may be blue.
In each pixel unit 111, the projection area of the light shielding structure 31 on each sub-pixel 1111 is equal.
Since the projection areas of the light shielding structures 31 on the sub-pixels 1111 in the same pixel unit 111 are the same, the opening areas of the sub-pixels 1111 shielded by the light shielding structures 31 are the same, that is, the light transmitting areas or the light emitting areas of the sub-pixels 1111 in the same pixel unit 111 are the same, so that the color cast phenomenon of the pixel unit 111 can be prevented, and the problem of color difference of the edge area of the irregular display panel 1 can be solved.
The irregular display panel 1 further comprises a black matrix forming the light shielding structure 31.
Because the black matrixes for shielding are arranged in the common display panel, when the special-shaped display panel 1 is prepared, the light shielding structure 31 can be directly formed when the black matrixes are formed, so that the light shielding structure 31 is formed along with the formation of the black matrixes, and the black matrixes and the light shielding structure play a role in shielding and do not need to be provided with other processes for preparing the light shielding structure, so that the design difficulty of the special-shaped display panel 1 is favorably reduced, the preparation process of the special-shaped display panel 1 is not required to be increased, and the production efficiency can be improved.
Based on the various embodiments described above, the pixel unit 111 is not limited to the three sub-pixels 1111 in the structure of fig. 1 and 2, but may be composed of four sub-pixels 1111 of red, green, blue, and white, respectively; meanwhile, the arrangement of the sub-pixels 1111 in the pixel unit 111 is not limited to the arrangement shown in fig. 1 and 2, and other arrangement may be adopted.
