在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分可包含第一聚合物和第二聚合物。第一聚合物可通过乳液聚合制得并且可衍生自两种或多种包含(甲基)丙烯酸酯单体和酸单体的单体。第一聚合物的Tg可为-50℃至-5℃(例如,Tg为-36℃至-23℃),且可以10至90重量%的量存在于第一涂料组分中,基于第一涂料组分中总的聚合物含量计。在某些实施方案中,第一聚合物可以10至50重量%或20至40重量%的量存在于第一涂料组分中,基于第一涂料组分中总的聚合物含量计。第二聚合物可通过乳液聚合制得并且衍生自两种或多种包含(甲基)丙烯酸酯单体和酸单体的单体。第二聚合物的Tg可为-15℃至50℃(例如,Tg为-12℃至25℃),且可以10至90重量%的量存在于第一涂料组分中(例如,50至90重量%或60至80重量%),基于第一涂料组分中总的聚合物含量计。在一些实施方案中,第一聚合物的Tg低于第二聚合物的Tg。在一些实施例中,第一聚合物和第二聚合物中的至少一种可为苯乙烯丙烯酸聚合物。在某些实施例中,第一聚合物和第二聚合物为纯丙烯酸化合物。第一聚合物和第二聚合物可分别衍生自至少一种选自丙烯酸丁酯和丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯的低Tg单体。任选地,第一聚合物和第二聚合物中的至少一种还衍生自至少一种选自甲基丙烯酸甲酯和苯乙烯的高Tg单体。第一聚合物和第二聚合物中的至少一种可衍生自可交联单体。第一聚合物和第二聚合物中的酸单体可分别选自以上所列的那些。在一些情况下,第一聚合物和第二聚合物中的至少一种可还衍生自(甲基)丙烯酰胺。在某些实施方案中,第一聚合物的Tg可为-36℃至-23℃,且可衍生自一种或多种包含多种丙烯酸丁酯和丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯中的一种的单体、一种或多种酸单体、可交联单体和任选的苯乙烯和/或甲基丙烯酸甲酯。在某些实施方案中,第二聚合物的Tg可为-12℃至0℃,且可衍生自一种或多种包含多种丙烯酸丁酯和丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯中的一种的单体、一种或多种酸单体、可交联单体和任选的苯乙烯和/或甲基丙烯酸甲酯。第一聚合物和第二聚合物可分散在水性介质中。
在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分可具有大于40%体积的固体。在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分可具有大于50%重量的固体。在一些实施方案中,第二涂料组分中絮凝剂的干重与第一涂料组分中聚合物的干重的重量比为0.1:16至5:16或0.5:16至3:16。
在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分——当作为膜施用(例如,当同时施用至表面时)、干燥并风化1000小时时——可在-26℃下通过ASTM D 6083-05中所阐述的芯轴弯曲试验,可在-18℃下通过ASTM D 6083-05中所阐述的芯轴弯曲试验,和/或可显示出如根据ASTM D-2370中所描述的标准方法测得的大于140psi的抗拉强度。
本文中还描述了在表面上形成涂层的方法。所述方法可包括将如本文中所述的双组分水性涂料组合物的第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分施用到表面上。所述表面可为建筑表面,例如屋顶表面和/或墙壁。在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分可同时施用到表面上。在某些实施方案中,可使用配备有将第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分喷涂至表面的机器,将第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分同时施用到表面上。双组分水性涂料组合物中第一涂料组分与第二涂料组分的结合在表面上产生了涂层。

如本文中所用的“(甲基)丙烯…”包含丙烯…、甲基丙烯…、二丙烯…和二甲基丙烯….。例如,术语“(甲基)丙烯酸酯单体”包含丙烯酸酯单体、甲基丙烯酸酯单体、二丙烯酸酯单体和二甲基丙烯酸酯单体。
本文中提供的是双组分水性涂料组合物。所述双组分水性涂料组合物可包含第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分。两种涂料组分可共同施用到表面(例如,同时或相继地)上以形成快速凝固的涂层。

第一聚合物和第二聚合物可独立地为纯丙烯酸化合物、苯乙烯丙烯酸化合物或乙烯基丙烯酸化合物。在一些实施方案中,第一聚合物为苯乙烯丙烯酸聚合物(即,第一聚合物为苯乙烯丙烯酸聚合物,第二聚合物为苯乙烯丙烯酸聚合物,或者第一聚合物和第二聚合物均为苯乙烯丙烯酸聚合物)。在其他实施方案中,第一聚合物和第二聚合物中的至少一种为纯丙烯酸(即,第一聚合物为纯丙烯酸,第二聚合物为纯丙烯酸,或者第一聚合物和第二聚合物均为纯丙烯酸)。
在一些实施方案中,第一聚合物的Tg可为-36℃至-23℃,且可衍生自一种或多种包含多种丙烯酸丁酯和丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯中一种的单体、一种或多种酸单体、可交联单体及任选的苯乙烯和/或甲基丙烯酸甲酯。在某些实施方案中,第一聚合物包含衍生自以下的丙烯酸基聚合物:
(i)10至18重量%的甲基丙烯酸甲酯;
(ii)55至70重量%的丙烯酸丁酯;

在一些实施方案中,第二聚合物的Tg可为-12℃至0℃,且可衍生自一种或多种包含多种丙烯酸丁酯和丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯中一种的单体、一种或多种酸单体、可交联单体及任选的苯乙烯和/或甲基丙烯酸甲酯。在某些实施方案中,第二聚合物包含衍生自以下的丙烯酸基聚合物:

第一聚合物和第二聚合物(当存在时)可通过使用自由基乳液聚合聚合所述单体而制备。用于第一聚合物和第二聚合物(当存在时)的单体可制备成水性分散体。乳液聚合的温度通常为10℃至95℃、30℃至95℃或75℃至90℃。聚合介质可单独包括水或包括水和可与水混溶的液体(例如,甲醇)的混合物。在一些实施方案中,单独使用水。乳液聚合可以间歇法、半间歇法或连续法进行。通常,使用半间歇法。在一些实施方案中,可将一部分单体加热至聚合温度并进行部分聚合,并且随后可将该聚合批次的剩余部分连续地、逐步地或以浓度梯度叠加的方式供给至聚合区。
自由基乳液聚合可在自由基聚合引发剂的存在下进行。可在该过程中使用的自由基聚合引发剂是所有能够引发自由基水性乳液聚合的那些,其包括过二硫酸的碱金属盐和H2O2或偶氮化合物。还可使用包含下述物质的组合体系:至少一种有机还原剂和至少一种过氧化物和/或氢过氧化物(例如,叔丁基过氧化氢)及羟基甲烷亚磺酸的金属钠盐或过氧化氢和抗坏血酸。还可使用额外含有少量金属化合物——其可溶于聚合介质且其金属组分可以多于一种的氧化态存在——的组合体系,例如,抗坏血酸/硫酸亚铁(II)/过氧化氢,其中抗坏血酸可由以下物质代替:羟基甲烷亚磺酸的金属钠盐、亚硫酸钠、亚硫酸氢钠或酸性亚硫酸金属钠盐(sodium metal bisulfite),过氧化氢可由以下物质代替:叔丁基氢过氧化物或过二硫酸碱金属盐和/或过二硫酸铵。在组合体系中,还可使用碳水化合物衍生的化合物作为还原组分。通常,自由基引发剂体系的用量可为0.1至2%,基于待聚合的单体的总量计。在一些实施方案中,引发剂为单独的或作为组合体系的组分的铵盐和/或过二硫酸碱金属盐(例如,过硫酸钠)。其中在自由基水性乳液聚合期间将自由基引发剂体系添加到聚合反应器中的方式并不是关键的。自由基引发剂体系可以在开始时全部引入到聚合反应器中,或者也可以在自由基水性乳液聚合期间随着它的消耗连续地或逐步地加入。详细地说,在本领域普通技术人员已知的方式中,其取决于引发剂体系的化学性质和聚合温度。在一些实施方案中,将一些自由基引发剂体系在开始时引入并且随着它的消耗将剩余部分添加到聚合区。还可以在高于大气压或减压的条件下进行自由基水性乳液聚合。
第一聚合物或第二聚合物(当存在时)可各自独立地通过单阶段聚合或多阶段聚合制得。在一些实施方案中,第一聚合物和第二聚合物各自单独地聚合以制备包含多个聚合物颗粒(含有第一聚合物)的第一分散体和包含多个聚合物颗粒(含有第二聚合物)的第二分散体。然后,第一分散体与第二分散体可结合起来以提供包含第一聚合物和第二聚合物的分散体。在一些实施方案中,通过利用多阶段聚合以相同的聚合物颗粒形式提供第一聚合物和第二聚合物,从而使得第一聚合物和第二聚合物之一可作为多阶段聚合物中的第一阶段聚合物(例如,作为核/壳聚合物颗粒的核)存在,且第一聚合物和第二聚合物之一可作为多阶段聚合物中的第二阶段聚合物(例如,作为核/壳聚合物颗粒的壳)存在。
一种或多种表面活性剂可包括在水性分散体中,以提高分散体的某些特性(包括颗粒稳定性)。例如,可使用油酸、月桂基聚氧乙烯醚硫酸钠(sodium laureth sulfate)和烷基苯磺酸或磺酸盐表面活性剂。市售可得的表面活性剂的实例包括ES-303(月桂基聚氧乙烯醚硫酸钠)和DB-45(十二烷基二苯醚二磺酸钠),两者均可由Pilot Chemical Company(Cincinnati,OH)获得。通常,表面活性剂的用量可为0.01至5%,基于待聚合的单体的总量计。
可任选地使用少量(例如,0.01至2重量%,基于总的单体重量计)的分子量调节剂,例如硫醇。所述表面活性剂优选地以与待聚合的单体的混合物加入到聚合区,并且认为是用于聚合物的不饱和单体的总量的一部分。
在衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物的情况下,该聚合物可通过高温聚合(例如,在40℃或更高的温度下聚合,例如在40℃至100℃的温度下)或者通过低温聚合(例如,在低于40℃的温度下聚合,例如在5℃至25℃的温度下)制得。由此,衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物可包括不同比例的顺式-1,4丁二烯单元与反式-1,4丁二烯单元。
如上所述,衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物可以连续法、半间歇法或间歇法进行聚合。一旦达到所需的转化水平,聚合反应可通过向反应器中加入速止剂而终止。速止剂迅速与自由基和氧化剂反应,从而破坏任何剩余的引发剂和聚合物自由基并防止形成新的自由基。示例性的速止剂包括具有醌型结构的有机化合物(例如醌)和可氧化成醌型结构的有机化合物(例如氢醌),任选地结合有水溶性硫化物例如硫化氢、硫化铵或者碱金属或碱土金属的硫化物或氢硫化物;N-取代的二硫代氨基甲酸酯;亚烷基多胺与硫的反应产物,假定含有硫化物、二硫化物、多硫化物和/或这些与其他化合物的混合物;二烷基羟基胺;N,N'-二烷基-N,N'-亚甲基双羟基胺;二硝基氯苯;二羟基二苯基硫化物;二硝基苯基苯并噻唑基硫化物;及其混合物。在高温聚合的情况下,可允许连续聚合直至单体完全转化,即大于99%,在这种情况下可以不使用速止剂。
一旦聚合终止(以连续法、半间歇法或间歇法),未反应的单体可从聚合物分散体中移除。例如,丁二烯单体可通过在大气压力下然后在减压下闪蒸而移除。苯乙烯单体可通过在汽提塔中汽提而移除。
如果需要的话,可将衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物凝聚,例如,使用化学、冷冻或压力凝聚,并且移除水以制备大于50%至75%的固体含量。
可将抗氧化剂加入到衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物中以防止氧化聚合物中的双键,并且可在聚合物的硫化之前或之后加入。抗氧化剂可为,例如,取代酚或仲芳族胺。还可将抗臭氧剂加入到衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物中以防止大气中存在的臭氧通过裂化聚合物中的双键而使聚合物裂化。还可将过早硫化抑制剂加入到衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物中以防止聚合物的过早硫化或焦化。
如果需要的话,通常在硫化剂、硫化促进剂、抗硫化返原剂(antireversionagent)和任选的交联剂的存在下,可将衍生自苯乙烯和丁二烯的聚合物硫化或固化以使聚合物交联,从而通过加热聚合物而提高橡胶的抗拉强度和伸长率。示例性的硫化剂包括各种类型的硫例如硫粉、沉淀硫、胶态硫、不溶硫和高分散硫;硫卤化物例如一氯化硫和二氯化硫;硫供体例如4,4'-二硫代二吗啉;硒;碲;有机过氧化物例如过氧化二枯基和过氧化二叔丁基;醌二肟例如p-醌二肟和p,p'-二苯甲酰基醌二肟;有机多胺化合物例如三亚乙基四胺、六亚甲基二胺氨基甲酸酯、4,4'-亚甲基双(环己胺)氨基甲酸酯和4,4'-亚甲基双邻氯苯胺;具有羟甲基的烷基酚树脂;及其混合物。在一些实施例中,硫化剂包括硫分散体或硫供体。硫化剂可存在的量为0.1至15重量%、0.3至10重量%或0.5至5重量%,基于聚合物的重量计。

抗硫化返原剂还可包括在硫化体系中以防止逆转,即交联密度出现不希望的降低。合适的抗硫化返原剂包括脂族羧酸的锌盐、单环芳族酸的锌盐、双马来亚酰胺、双柠康酰亚胺、双衣康酰亚胺、芳基双柠康酰胺酸(aryl bis-citraconamic acids)、双琥珀酰亚胺和聚合的双琥珀酰亚胺多硫化物(例如,N,N'-二甲苯二柠康酰亚胺)。可存在的抗硫化返原剂的量在0至5重量%、0.1至3重量%或0.1至2重量%的范围内,基于聚合物的重量计。
在一些实施方案中,第一聚合物和第二聚合物(当存在时)可分散在水性介质中以形成水性分散体。该水性分散体可用于形成第一涂料组分。第一涂料组分还可包括填料、颜料、分散剂、增稠剂、消泡剂、表面活性剂、杀生物剂(biocide)、聚结剂、阻燃剂、稳定剂、固化剂、流动剂、均化剂、硬化剂或其组合物。

通常,填料的平均粒径的范围是约0.01至约50微米。例如,水性涂料组合物中所用的TiO2颗粒通常具有约0.15至约0.40微米的平均粒径。填料可以粉末或浆液形式加入到水性涂料组分中。水性涂料组分中存在的填料的量优选为约5至约50重量%、更优选为约10至约40重量%(即,填料的重量百分比基于涂料组分的总重量计)。
合适的颜料分散剂的实例为多元酸分散剂和疏水性共聚物分散剂。多元酸分散剂通常为多元羧酸,例如聚丙烯酸或聚甲基丙烯酸,其部分或全部为其氨盐、碱金属盐、碱土金属盐、铵盐或低级烷基季铵盐的形式。疏水性共聚物分散剂包括丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸或马来酸与疏水性单体的共聚物。在某些实施方案中,组合物包括聚丙烯酸类分散剂,例如Pigment Disperser N,其由BASF SE市售可得。
合适的增稠剂的实例包括疏水改性的环氧乙烷氨基甲酸酯(HEUR)聚合物、疏水改性的碱溶性乳液(HASE)聚合物、疏水改性的羟乙基纤维素(HMHECs)、疏水改性的聚丙烯酰胺及其组合物。HEUR聚合物为二异氰酸酯与用疏水性烃基封端的聚环氧乙烷的直链反应产物。HASE聚合物为(甲基)丙烯酸的均聚物或(甲基)丙烯酸、(甲基)丙烯酸酯或用疏水性乙烯基单体改性的马来酸的共聚物。HMHECs包括用疏水性烷基链改性的羟乙基纤维素。疏水改性的聚丙烯酰胺包括丙烯酰胺与用疏水性烷基链改性的丙烯酰胺(N-烷基丙烯酰胺)的共聚物。在某些实施方案中,涂料组合物包括疏水改性的羟乙基纤维素增稠剂。
消泡剂用于使在混合和/或应用涂料组分期间的起泡最小化。合适的消泡剂包括有机消泡剂(例如矿物油、硅油)和基于二氧化硅的消泡剂。示例性的硅油包括聚硅氧烷、聚二甲基硅氧烷、聚醚改性的聚硅氧烷及其组合物。示例性的消泡剂包括(可由BYK USA Inc.获得)、系列的消泡剂(可由Evonik Industries获得)、系列的消泡剂(可由Ashland Inc.获得)及NXZ(可由BASF Corporation获得)。

在干燥期间有助于膜形成的合适的聚结剂包括乙二醇单甲醚、乙二醇单丁醚、乙二醇单乙醚乙酸酯、乙二醇单丁醚乙酸酯、二乙二醇单丁醚、二乙二醇单乙醚乙酸酯、二丙二醇单甲醚、2,2,4-三甲基-1,3-戊二醇单异丁酸酯及其组合物。
合适的pH调节剂的实例包括碱例如氢氧化钠、氢氧化钾、氨基醇、单乙醇胺(MEA)、二乙醇胺(DEA)、2-(2-氨基乙氧基)乙醇、二异丙醇胺(DIPA)、1-氨基-2-丙醇(AMP)、氨及其组合物。

示例性的共溶剂和湿润剂包括乙二醇、丙二醇、二乙二醇及其组合物。
示例性的交联剂包括二酰肼(例如,己二酸、琥珀酸、草酸、谷氨酸或sebastic酸的二酰肼)。可使用二酰肼,例如,以使二丙酮丙烯酰胺或其他可交联单体交联。
在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分可包括以下组分(基于第一涂料组分的总重量计):水6.8-17.2重量%、丙二醇0.5-2.5%重量%、颜料分散剂0.4-0.85重量%、一种或多种聚合物分散剂(为55-65重量%的聚合物)37.8-41.3重量%、增塑剂0-1.0重量%、消泡剂0.3-1.4重量%、非离子型表面活性剂0-0.1重量%、增稠剂0.1-0.4重量%、二氧化钛3.0-11.2重量%、氧化锌0-3.4重量%、碳酸钙27.7-33.7重量%、滑石或高岭土0-18.3重量%、杀生物剂0.1-0.3重量%和氨0.1-0.3重量%。
第一涂料组分的体积固体百分比可为至少40%。例如,第一涂料组分的体积固体百分比可为至少45%、至少50%、至少55%、至少60%、至少65%、至少70%或至少75%。
第一涂料组分的重量固体百分比可为至少50%。例如,第一涂料组分的重量固体百分比可为至少55%、至少60%、至少65%、至少70%、至少75%或至少80%。
第二涂料组分可包含絮凝剂。例如,第二涂料组分可为絮凝剂的水溶液或悬浮液。絮凝剂——有时称为凝结剂——是使固体或半固体从溶液中沉淀出来的物质,例如从胶乳分散体中沉淀出聚合物颗粒,或从水中沉淀出杂质。示例性的絮凝剂是本领域中已知的,且包括带电的聚合物(参见,例如,授予Warburton的美国专利第5,219,914号,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中)和多价金属盐,包括合适的锌盐、铁盐、钙盐和铝盐(参见,例如,授予Cogliano的美国专利第3,823,024号,授予Kunishiga等人的美国专利第4,386,992号,授予Jordan的美国专利第4,571,415号和授予Dubble的美国专利第5,403,393号,以及授予Albu等人的美国专利申请公开第2004/0000329号,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中)。在一些实施方案中,絮凝剂可包含CaCl2。
第二涂料组分可包含有效量的絮凝剂,从而当第二涂料组分与第一涂料组分结合时,加入的絮凝剂降低了第一涂料组分中一种或多种聚合物分散体的稳定性,使得涂料更快速地凝固。
第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分可以作为独立的水性组合物(例如,在一套体系中作为双组分水性涂料组合物的第一组分和第二组分)提供。第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分可共同施用(例如,同时或相继地)于基底(例如,膜形式)上,并允许进行干燥以形成干的涂层。在表面上,第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分如果单独施用可能不能形成涂层,而第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分的组合则产生涂层。
通常,涂层通过将如本文中所述的双组分水性涂料组合物的第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分施用于表面上形成,并使该涂层干燥以形成干的涂层。表面可以是,例如,PVC管、混凝土、砖、砂浆、沥青、粒状沥青盖板、地毯、颗粒、路面、吊顶板、运动器材表面、外部绝缘和抛光体系(EIFS)、车辆、喷涂聚氨酯泡沫表面、金属、热塑性聚烯烃表面、三元乙丙橡胶(ethylene-propylene diene monomer)(EPDM)表面、改性沥青表面、屋顶、墙壁、储油罐和其他涂层表面(在重新涂覆的情况下)。在一些实施方案中,表面可以是建筑表面。在一些实施方案中,表面可以是大体上水平的表面如屋顶表面。在一些实施方案中,表面可以是大体上垂直的表面如墙壁。在一些实施方案中,涂料组合物可被施用于地板以提供湿度控制,从而提供裂纹桥接特性。
第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分可通过任何合适的涂覆技术(包括喷涂、辊涂、刷涂或抹涂)施用于表面。第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分可根据特定应用的需要以单个涂层或多个连续的涂层(例如,两个涂层或三个涂层)施用。通常,将涂料组合物在环境条件下干燥。然而,在某些实施方案中,涂料组合物可通过例如加热和/或通过在涂层上循环空气来干燥。第一涂料组分可以与第二涂料组合物结合施用,以形成快速凝固的涂层。第二涂料组分可在施用第一涂料组分之前施用于表面、同时与第一涂料组分一起施用于表面,或在第一涂料组分施用于表面之后而干燥之前施用于表面。
在某些实施方案中,第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分同时施用于表面以进行涂覆(例如,施用于建筑表面如屋顶或墙壁)。例如,第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分可以汇聚流或重叠流的形式进行喷涂,当它们施用于表面时混合。在这些实施方案中,可使用配备有喷涂第一涂料组分(例如聚合物分散体)和第二涂料组分(例如絮凝剂)的机器将第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分同时施用于表面上,从而使得喷涂区域重叠。合适的机器包括:包括两个可调节的单独的喷枪,以使得两个单独的喷枪的喷涂区域重叠的应用系统,以及包括具有两个单独的喷嘴(具有重叠的喷涂区域)的单个喷枪的应用系统(例如,配备有外部混合的喷枪,可由Binks Manufacturing Co.,Franklin Park,Illinois获得)。可选地,可使用配备有在应用之前内部混合第一涂料组分与第二涂料组分的单独的喷雾器来同时施用第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分。
在某些实施方案中,使用包括单个喷枪(具有第一喷嘴和第二喷嘴)的喷涂系统将第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分同时施用于表面,流动地连接在第一喷嘴和第一溶液存储器之间的第一泵用于在第一流体压力下将第一涂料组分输送至第一喷嘴,且流动地连接在第二喷嘴与第二溶液存储器之间的第二泵用于在第二流体压力下将第二涂料组分输送至第二喷嘴。这类喷涂系统是本领域已知的。参见,例如,授予Smith的美国专利申请公开第2007/0186813号和第2010/0173089号,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中。
在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分可在粘度为至少50cP(例如,至少100cP、至少500cP、至少1,000cP、至少2,000cP、至少5,000cP、至少10,000cP、至少12,000cP、至少15,000cP、至少20,000cP、至少25,000cP、至少30,000cP或至少35,000cP)下施用,所述粘度在20℃下使用带有#3转子的Brookfield RV粘度计在2rpm下测得。在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分可在粘度为40,000cP或更小(例如,35,000cP或更小、30,000cP或更小、25,000cP或更小、20,000cP或更小、15,000cP或更小、12,000cP或更小、10,000cP或更小、5,000cP或更小、2,000或更小、1,000cP或更小、500cP或更小或者100或更小)下施用,所述粘度在20℃下使用带有#3转子的Brookfield RV粘度计在2rpm下测得。
第一涂料组分可在粘度范围为以上所描述的最小值中的任一个至以上所描述的最大值中的任一个下施用。例如,在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分可在粘度为50cP至40,000cP下施用,所述粘度在20℃下使用带有#3转子的Brookfield RV粘度计在2rpm下测得。在一些实施方案中,第一涂料组分的粘度可为500至30,000cP、1,000至12,000cP、2,000至12,000cP、2,000至8,000cP或2,000至5,000cP。
在一些实施方案中,第二涂料组分中絮凝剂的干重与第一涂料组分中聚合物的干重的重量比为0.1:16至5:16。聚合物的重量比基于第一组分中聚合物的总干重计,且在其中第一涂料组分包括两种聚合物的情况下为第一聚合物和第二聚合物的总干重。在一些实施方案中,重量比可为0.1:16或更大、0.3:16或更大、0.5:16或更大、1:16或更大、1:8或更大、3:16或更大,或者1:4或更大。在一些实施方案中,重量比可为5:16或更小、1:4或更小、3:16或更小、1:8或更小、1:16或更小、0.5:16或更小,或者0.3:16或更小。在一些实施方案中,重量比可为0.1:16至5:16、0.3:16至4:16、0.5:16至3:16或1:16至3:16。在一些实施方案中,重量比可为1:16至5:16。
所得涂层的厚度可根据涂料的应用而变化。例如,涂层的干厚度可为至少10mils(例如,至少15mils、至少20mils、至少25mils、至少30mils或至少40mils)。在一些情况下,涂层的干厚度小于100mils(例如,小于90mils、小于80mils、小于75mils、小于60mils、小于50mils、小于40mils、小于35mils或小于30mils)。在一些实施方案中,涂层的干厚度在10mils和100mils之间。在某些实施方案中,涂层的干厚度在10mils和40mils之间。
第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分可作为膜施用,干燥,进行加速风化过程以使模拟延长的暴露范围为1000小时或更多,然后在-26℃(或-18℃)下进行ASTM D 6083-05中所阐述的芯轴弯曲试验。在一些实施方案中,本文中所描述的第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分当以组合物形式作为膜施用、干燥并风化时,在-26℃下通过STM D 6083-05中所阐述的芯轴弯曲试验。在一些实施方案中,本文中所描述的第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分当以组合物形式作为膜施用、干燥并风化时,在-18℃下通过STM D 6083-05中所阐述的芯轴弯曲试验。
由本文中所描述的第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分所形成的涂层的断裂伸长率可根据ASTM D-2370测得。通常,在至少14天的干燥周期后,涂层显示出的断裂伸长率为至少90%(例如,至少95%、至少100%、至少110%、至少120%、至少130%、至少140%、至少150%、至少160%、至少170%、至少180%、至少190%或至少200%),所述断裂伸长率根据ASTM D-2370测得。在一些实施方案中,在1000的加速风化后,涂层显示出的断裂伸长率为至少90%(例如,至少95%、至少100%、至少110%、至少120%、至少130%、至少140%、至少150%、至少160%、至少170%、至少180%、至少190%或至少200%),所述断裂伸长率根据ASTM D-2370测得。

在某些实施方案中,由本文中所描述的第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分所形成的涂层是弹性屋顶涂料。在某些实施方案中,涂料通常将满足ASTM D6083-05——标题为“Standard Specification for Liquid Applied Acrylic Coating Used inRoofing”——的要求。在特定的实施方案中,在1000小时的加速风化后,涂层根据ASTM D-2370的拉伸强度大于200psi且断裂伸长率大于100%。
以下实施例旨在进一步说明本文中所描述的方法和组合物的某些方面,且并不旨在限制权利要求的范围。
实施例
双组分快速固化的涂料组合物
在测试之前,分别制备双组分涂料组合物的第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分。
使用下表1中所列的成分制备第一涂料组分。具体而言,将11.13-15.55wt%的水、1.11-1.55wt%的聚结剂、0.38-0.61wt%的分散剂、0.11-0.16wt%的杀生物剂、5.56-7.77wt%的二氧化钛和13.35-13.94wt%的三水合铝合并起来并在高速下混合直至均匀状态。
向该混合物中加入42.66-59.60wt%的聚合物分散体、0.10-0.14wt%的氨、0.37-0.52wt%的消泡剂以及0.04-0.07wt%的增稠剂与0.16-0.28wt%的丙二醇的预混浆料。将所述成分混合直至均匀状态。所述聚合物分散体与第一丙烯酸聚合物的水性分散体和第二丙烯酸聚合物的水性分散体的混合物的重量比为2:1。第一丙烯酸聚合物为Tg为-6℃的丙烯酸聚合物,其衍生自甲基丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸正丁酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯、甲基丙烯酸、二丙酮丙烯酰胺和己二酸二酰肼。第二丙烯酸聚合物为:(i)Tg为-28℃的丙烯酸聚合物,其衍生自甲基丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸正丁基酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯、甲基丙烯酸、二丙酮丙烯酰胺和己二酸二酰肼;或(ii)Tg为-28℃的丙烯酸聚合物,其衍生自甲基丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸正丁基酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己基酯、丙烯酸和甲基丙烯酸乙酰乙酰氧基乙酯(AAEM)。
所得第一涂料组分为59重量%固体且pH为8.5-9.0。第一涂料组分的粘度为330-378cP,如通过Brookfield粘度计(#3转子在50rpm下)测定。

第二涂料组分是通过将192g絮凝剂与1L水混合而制得的絮凝剂溶液。
第一涂料组分和第二涂料组分使用双喷嘴喷雾器共同喷涂到垂直取向的高密度聚乙烯片材上。组分A与组分B的比例以湿基计为10:1。喷涂双组分体系至最高达80mil厚度。将双组分体系粘附在基底的表面上,未看见涂料流出。此外,可在几分钟内轻轻地触摸涂层而未造成涂层表面的涂料转移(仅是水)或损坏。所得涂层的特性详细描述于下表2中。通常,这些涂层的厚度为20-50mils(干膜厚度)。
在14天后且在氙弧老化试验机中进行1000小时的加速风化后,由以上所述的双组分体系所形成的膜的拉伸强度和断裂伸长率根据ASTM D-2370-98(2010)——标题为“Standard Test Method for Tensile Properties of Organic Coatings”,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中——中所述的方法测定。
由以上所述的双组分体系形成的膜对钢基底和泡沫基底的湿粘附力和干粘附力使用ASTM C-794(2010)——标题为“Standard Test Method for Adhesion-in-Peel ofElastomeric Joint Sealants”,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中——中所述的方法的修改版本测定。将ASTM C-794中所述的方法按照以下修改,从而适应双组分体系的快速固化性质。具体而言,这些方法是在进行测试的材料的两个涂层之间使用嵌入的稀松布夹层。修改ASTM C-794中描述的方案,从而使得通过将双组分体系喷涂到基底上来形成进行测试的材料的第一涂层(该涂层与基底接触),同时通过仅在嵌入的稀松布上喷涂第一涂料组分来形成进行测试的材料的第二涂层(该涂层被施用在稀松布上)。所述方法的所有其他方面与ASTM C-794中所述的那些一致。
由以上所述的双组分体系形成的膜的水蒸气透过量根据ASTM D1653-13——标题为“Standard Test Methods for Water Vapor Transmission of Organic CoatingFilms”,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中——中描述的方法,以及ASTM E96/E96M-14——标题为“Standard Test Methods for Water Vapor Transmission ofMaterials”,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中——中描述的两种方法测定。使用倒置的perm杯(测试方法B)产生了ASTM D1653中报道的数值。使用干杯/去湿的方法产生了ASTM E96(方法A)中报道的数值。使用湿杯/湿法产生了ASTM E96(方法B)中报道的数值。
在14天后且在氙弧老化试验机中1000小时的加速风化后,由以上所述的双组分体系形成的膜的弹性根据ASTM D522/D522M-13——标题为“Standard Test Methods forMandrel Bend Test of Attached Organic Coatings”,其全部内容在此以引用的方式纳入本说明书中——中描述的方法测试。在1000小时的加速风化后,膜通过ASTM D522中所阐述的弹性测试(在-18℃的温度下,0.5英寸的芯轴弯曲)。

包含絮凝剂的第二涂料组分,
其中第一涂料组分包含:
第一聚合物,其通过乳液聚合制得并且衍生自两种或多种包含(甲基)丙烯酸酯单体和酸单体的单体,所述第一聚合物的Tg为-50℃至-23℃且存在于第一涂料组分中的量为10-90重量%,基于第一涂料组分的总聚合物含量计;及
第二聚合物,其通过乳液聚合制得并且衍生自两种或多种包含(甲基)丙烯酸酯单体和酸单体的单体,所述第二聚合物的Tg为-15℃至50℃且高于第一聚合物的Tg的Tg,第一涂料组分中存在的第二聚合物的量为10-90重量%,基于第一涂料组分的总聚合物含量计。
2.权利要求1的组合物,其中第一涂料组分的粘度为2,000至15,000cP,所述粘度在20℃下使用带有#3转子的Brookfield RV粘度计在2rpm下测得。

10.权利要求1-2中任一项的组合物,其中第二涂料组分中絮凝剂的干重与第一涂料组分中聚合物的干重的重量比为0.1:16至5:16。
