Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of communication, in particular to a method, a device and a system for reporting and acquiring the use effect performance of a wireless local area network.
Background
With the increasing number of subscribers of mobile communication operators and the increasing amount of services such as user voice data, the investment and deployment scale of the infrastructure of the mobile communication network are correspondingly increased, and the wireless coverage and the system capacity are continuously enhanced. Taking most Mobile communication operators in europe as an example, they have deployed 3 Mobile communication systems (all in 3GPP communication System family) with different RAT (Radio access technology) systems in time, namely GSM (Global System of Mobile communication), UMTS (universal Mobile Telecommunications System), and LTE (Long Term Evolution). In addition to the 3 systems undergoing respective 3GPP (3 rd Generation Partnership project) standardization technological evolution in order to enhance various mobile communication functions and expand system capacity, mobile communication operators have widely deployed and used WLAN (wireless local area network) systems (evolving towards HEW systems) within the IEEE communication system family in local areas as efficient and low-cost capacity supplements.
Whatever the mobile communication system, the mobile communication system basically comprises the following main logical network element nodes: the system comprises a single-mode or multi-mode terminal UE/STA, a radio access network RAN/AP, a core network CN, a network management OMC, a bearer network TBN and the like. For example: the network side of the UMTS system is composed of core network unit MSC/MGW/SGSN/GGSN and wireless access network unit NodeB/RNC, and ground interfaces Iu, Iub, Iur and so on among them, which are normalized by 3GPP standard; the network side of the LTE system consists of a core network unit MME/SGW/PGW/IMS and a wireless access network unit eNB, and ground interfaces S1, X2 and the like between the core network unit MME/SGW/PGW/IMS and the wireless access network unit eNB; the network side of the WLAN system is composed of a wireless control unit AC and a wireless access unit AP, etc. Since the multiple systems (Multi-RAT) coexist to provide services together, in order to enhance performance across systems, enhance user mobile communication experience, reduce software and hardware costs, and facilitate management and operation and maintenance of operators, system manufacturers often couple the multiple systems together in different degrees to form a so-called cross-system interoperation or joint operation, for example, the system architecture shown in fig. 1. This has the following advantages: different RATs can exert the advantages and the characteristics of respective systems, the communication load of a large number of users can be shared in a balanced manner among the different RATs, and the different RATs can form complementation of resources, coverage and capacity, so that high-performance communication KPI is brought to the whole large system, and better mobile communication experience and QOE is brought to the users.
According to the presently disclosed and discussed techniques, a WLAN/3GPP multi-mode capable terminal may be in a communication connection with both a WLAN and a network of a RAT in the 3GPP family. For example, a certain WLAN/LTE dual-mode capability terminal is simultaneously under the coverage of a wireless signal of a WLAN/LTE network, at a certain time, the terminal establishes an RRC (radio resource Control) connection with the LTE network first, and then performs bidirectional communication of a certain IP service flow a, and then the user initiates a new IP service flow B. In the manual control mode of the user, the terminal searches for a coverage signal of the WLAN and completes the necessary network entry registration Attach (this process is referred to as WLAN network selection registration), and then the CN, which merges various system core network functions, may migrate the IP traffic B to the WLAN system that the terminal has successfully registered before according to certain policies and rules, and thereafter the IP traffic a of the terminal is still carried in the LTE network and the IP traffic B is carried in the WLAN network (this process is referred to as WLAN data offloading), which is illustrated in fig. 2A and 2B.
Besides the above-mentioned user manual control mode, core network CN components (such as ANDSF: access network Discovery and Selection Function) and radio access network RAN (such as RNC in UMTS and eNB in LTE) in the 3GPP family can also control the terminal to perform WLAN network Selection registration and WLAN data offloading through predefined policy rules and related parameter configuration without user manual intervention. The policy rules here may be: and performing certain operation evaluation on a plurality of input condition parameters, such as logic/inequality operation and the like, and outputting results as which WLAN the terminal should go to for network selection registration and which user data objects are subjected to WLAN shunt. In the technical implementation level, the WLAN network selection registration and WLAN data offloading process of the terminal can only perform information interaction and coordination with the IP layer network element node on the 3GPP network side, or the process and result of the WLAN network selection registration and data offloading process local to the terminal are substantially transparent to the radio access network RAN, so that it can be considered that the radio access network RAN cannot know in time how the result and effect performance of the WLAN network selection registration and WLAN data offloading of the terminal are, thereby causing some technical problems as follows:
1, because data transmission in the WLAN system is based on a mechanism of random contention of a user for a wireless resource, performance of the user in terms of communication experience, such as data transmission rate, packet delay, packet loss rate, and the like, cannot be guaranteed. For example, in the above example, after the IP traffic B of the user is migrated into the WLAN network, the average data transmission rate may become much smaller than that before the migration, thereby resulting in a degradation of the communication experience of the user, and further may be more willing to migrate the IP traffic B back into the LTE network.
Whether the CN or the RAN in the 3GPP family system is used for WLAN network selection and offloading control, the benefits of the network side are considered, such as protecting the network capacity, but the benefits of the user are not considered, so that the user experience may be reduced. Such as the example above, where the user's IP traffic flow B is migrated into the WLAN network, the user may wish to migrate not IP traffic flow B but IP traffic flow a, or indeed the destination may prefer another WLAN network, etc.
3, if the terminal is in RRC dedicated connection State (Cell _ DCH State in UMTS and RRC _ Connected Mode in LTE) in the 3GPP network, the RAN can control the WLAN network selection and offloading behavior of a single terminal through parameters or commands in unicast dedicated messages, so that the RAN may make relatively dynamic and timely corrections and optimizations for specific situations of a single terminal. However, at present, the RAN does not have rrm (radio resource management) policy parameter input related to WLAN network selection and offloading from the terminal, so the RAN usually does not determine how to reasonably adjust the related parameter and command, and can enable the terminal to obtain better WLAN network selection and offloading effects and experience.
In view of the above problems in the related art, no effective solution has been proposed.

By avoiding repeated reporting of the same WLAN usage event in a short time.
The embodiment of the invention also provides a method for reporting the use effect performance of the wireless local area network.
Fig. 6 is a flowchart of a method for reporting wlan performance of using effect according to an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 6, the method mainly includes the following steps (steps S602 to S606):
step S602, a terminal receives configuration information of WLAN use effect performance evaluation sent by a network side;
in an optional implementation manner, the configuration information may include: whether to execute the enabling indication information reported by the WLAN usage performance event information. For example, a network side (e.g., RAN or CN in a 3GPP network) may transmit, through a downlink message, configuration information WLAN _ Usage _ evaluation _ Config _ Info supporting WLAN Usage performance evaluation and reporting terminal (UE) -related WLAN Usage performance evaluation, which may include: the terminal WLAN uses the performance effect Event information to Report an enabler WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Report _ Enabled, and the value is as follows: { Enabled, Disabled }, informing the terminal of being on through the value of the enabler, and if the terminal is on, closing the terminal WLAN performance use event information report.
Further, a plurality of independent parallel enablers may be introduced, enabling switching control for different events, respectively.
Step S604, when a WLAN use event occurs, the terminal evaluates the effect performance of the terminal using the WLAN according to the configuration information to obtain effect performance evaluation information of the terminal using the WLAN;
in this embodiment, the enabling indication information indicates that WLAN usage performance event information reporting is performed, and when a WLAN usage event (for example, WLAN network selection or WLAN data offloading) occurs, the terminal evaluates the performance of the UE using the WLAN according to configuration information sent by the network side, so as to obtain performance evaluation information, such as satisfaction or dissatisfaction, of the UE using the WLAN.
In an optional embodiment, the configuration information may further include: WLAN usage event evaluation duration; then, in step S604, when the terminal evaluates the performance of the terminal on using the WLAN, if the time interval between two consecutive WLAN network selections or WLAN offload controls of the terminal is less than the evaluation duration of the WLAN usage event, the terminal determines that the performance of the terminal on using the WLAN is unsatisfactory, otherwise, the terminal determines that the performance of the terminal on using the WLAN is satisfactory.
In another optional embodiment, the configuration information may further include: the WLAN use event evaluation duration and the WLAN data distribution utilization rate evaluation threshold; then, in step S604, when the terminal evaluates the effect performance of using the WLAN by the terminal, after a time period indicated by the WLAN usage event evaluation duration from a time when the WLAN system performs data offloading transmission, if the counted ratio of the total data transmission amount in the WLAN system to the total user data transmission amount is greater than the ratio indicated by the WLAN data offloading usage rate evaluation threshold, the terminal determines that the effect performance of using the WLAN is satisfactory, otherwise, the terminal determines that the effect performance of using the WLAN is unsatisfactory.
It should be noted that, in practical applications, the configuration information may include two WLAN usage event evaluation durations at the same time, one of which is applicable to the first alternative embodiment, and the other of which is applicable to the second alternative embodiment.
In an optional implementation manner, the configuration information may further include: forbidding repeated reporting time length; after the terminal reports the performance evaluation information to the network side, the method further includes: the terminal starts a repeated reporting prohibition timer, and does not report the effect performance evaluation information of the same WLAN use event to the network side any more before the repeated reporting prohibition timer is overtime, wherein the time length of the repeated reporting prohibition timer is equal to the repeated reporting prohibition time length. By the optional implementation mode, the UE can be prevented from repeatedly evaluating and reporting the same WLAN use event in a short time.
Step S606, the terminal reports the effect performance evaluation information to the network side.
Optionally, the terminal may report to the network side immediately after obtaining the performance evaluation information of the effect of the terminal using the WLAN, that is, in an event triggering manner, and report the performance evaluation information after the WLAN using event occurs; or after obtaining the effect performance evaluation information of the WLAN used by the terminal, the terminal reports the effect performance evaluation information to the network side together with the information data when the information data except the effect performance evaluation information needs to be sent to the network side.
The embodiment of the invention also provides a method for acquiring the use effect performance of the wireless local area network.
Fig. 7 is a flowchart of a method for acquiring wlan usage effect performance according to an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 7, the method mainly includes the following steps (step S702-step S704):
step S702, the network side sends configuration information of terminal WLAN use effect performance evaluation to the terminal;
optionally, the configuration information may include: whether to execute the enabling indication information reported by the WLAN usage performance event information.
Furthermore, a plurality of independent parallel enablers can be introduced to the network side, and switching control can be performed for different events.
Optionally, the configuration information may further include: and the WLAN use event evaluation duration is used for indicating the terminal, if the time interval of two times of WLAN network selection or WALN shunt control of the terminal is less than the WLAN use event evaluation duration, the effect performance of using the WLAN is unsatisfactory, otherwise, the effect performance of using the WLAN is satisfactory.
Optionally, the configuration information further includes: the WLAN use event evaluation duration and the WLAN data offloading usage rate evaluation threshold are used for indicating the terminal, and after a time period indicated by the WLAN use event evaluation duration from a moment when the terminal performs data offloading transmission in a WLAN system, if the counted proportion of the total data transmission amount and the total user data transmission amount in the WLAN system is greater than the proportion indicated by the WLAN data offloading usage rate evaluation threshold, the effect performance of using the WLAN is satisfied, otherwise, the effect performance of using the WLAN is unsatisfied.
Optionally, the configuration information further includes: and the report repetition prohibiting time length is used for indicating the terminal to not report the effect performance evaluation information of the same WLAN use event to the network side within the report repetition prohibiting time length after the effect performance evaluation information is reported.
Step S704, the network side receives the effect performance evaluation information of the terminal using the WLAN, which is obtained by evaluating the WLAN usage event according to the configuration information when the terminal has the WLAN usage event.
Optionally, after receiving the performance evaluation information, the network side may start a repeated reporting prohibition timer, and before the repeated reporting prohibition timer expires, send new configuration information of the WLAN performance evaluation to the terminal, and instruct the terminal to stop evaluating or reporting any WLAN usage event, where a duration of the repeated reporting prohibition timer is the above-mentioned repeated reporting prohibition duration.
In an optional embodiment, after the network side receives the effectiveness performance evaluation information, the method further includes: and the network side determines an RRM strategy for the terminal according to the effect performance evaluation information and a pre-established RRM processing mechanism. For example, if the network side receives unsatisfactory performance evaluation information sent by the terminal, the network side makes an RRM policy to instruct the network side not to perform WLAN network selection or WLAN data offloading control on the terminal before the terminal completes the current service.
In order to further understand the technical solutions provided by the embodiments of the present invention, the following description is made through specific implementations.
Example one
In this embodiment, a 3GPP family system, a WLAN, a terminal UE, and a radio access network RAN are used to perform control and feedback interaction in an as (access stratum) layer, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the nature of interaction between the terminal and a core network CN in an nas (nonaccess stratum) layer is similar, and the terminal and the core network CN all rely on an air interface to transmit some control information from a network side and feedback information from a terminal side. In addition, the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention can be widely applied to any 3GPP family system, WLAN and Future long term evolution system thereof, such as Future Radio Access and HEW.
In this embodiment, the RAN or CN and the terminal UE on the network side of the 3GPP system can simultaneously support the technical solution related to the embodiment of the present invention. If the capability is not optional on the terminal side, the terminal may inform the network side whether it supports the capability through direct or indirect capability indication information.
Fig. 8 is a flowchart of the present embodiment, and as shown in fig. 8, the interaction of UE WLAN performance evaluation mainly includes the following steps:
in step S801, the RAN or CN transmits, through a downlink message, configuration information WLAN _ Usage _ evaluation _ Config _ Info related to the terminal UE supporting the capability and used for WLAN performance evaluation, where the configuration information WLAN _ Usage _ evaluation _ Config _ Info may include:
(1) the terminal WLAN reports the enabler WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Report _ Enabled with the effect performance Event information, and the value is as follows: { Enabled, Disabled };
further, a plurality of independent parallel enablers may be introduced, enabling switching control for different events, respectively.
(2) Terminal WLAN usage effect performance event evaluation timer
WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Evaluation _ Timer, taking the value example: {1min,2min,5min, }; furthermore, a plurality of independent and parallel timers can be introduced, and time control can be performed for different events.
(3) Terminal WLAN data distribution utilization rate evaluation threshold
WLAN _ Usage _ Offload _ Ratio _ Threshold, value example: {20%,50%,80% }; further, other variations may be introduced as well, but threshold parameters reflecting the degree of WLAN contribution to data offloading may also be introduced.
(4) Terminal WLAN performance event repeated reporting prohibition timer
WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Prohibit _ Timer, taking the value example: {10s,30s,60s, … }; further, other variants may be introduced, but the terminal may be constrained to repeat reporting the same event multiple times.
Optionally, the terminal may support simultaneous evaluation and reporting of single or multiple different types of events.
Step S802, the terminal receives the downlink message according to the 3GPP prior art, and parses the relevant configuration information (if carried by the message) from the downlink message, and makes the following understanding and actions:
WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Report _ Enabled indicates: the terminal is allowed to start the evaluation and reporting of relevant WLAN usage performance events, otherwise not to perform or stop the ongoing evaluation and reporting of events. The terminal saves the evaluation and reporting status of the EVENT with the local variable WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ ENABLED = TRUE for the relevant EVENT. Further, the terminal may use a plurality of different local variables to maintain the evaluation and reporting status for different types of events.
In the RRC state where the Event Evaluation is applicable, if the time interval between two consecutive manual WLAN network selection or offloading Control occurrences by the user is smaller than the value of the WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Evaluation _ Timer parameter, the terminal records and prepares to report the WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy Event once, and stops evaluating the Event. Further, as a specific example, if the value of the WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Evaluation _ Timer parameter is Infinite infinity, it indicates that after the user has performed a manual WLAN network selection or offloading, the terminal records and prepares to report a WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy Event.
In the RRC state where the Event Evaluation is applicable, after the user passes through a statistical time window of the WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Evaluation _ Timer parameter value from a certain time when the WLAN system performs data offloading transmission, if the Ratio of the total data transmission amount/the total user data transmission amount in the WLAN system obtained through statistics is greater than the WLAN _ Usage _ Offload _ Ratio _ Threshold parameter value, the terminal records and prepares to report a WLAN _ Usage _ Offload _ Happy Event, and stops evaluating the Event. Note that: different types of events may have different WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Evaluation _ Timer parameter values.
Step S803, the terminal feeds back to the network RAN or CN one or more types of events recorded above (if an event record exists) through an uplink message in the applicable RRC state. The terminal may use a proprietary message (after the event is triggered, the terminal is dedicated to reporting the event immediately) or an associated message (after the event is triggered, the terminal is not dedicated to reporting the event immediately, and when other uplink messages are triggered and sent, the terminal is also reported together).
Step S804, after the terminal successfully reports the Event, a Timer T for preventing repeated reporting is started, and before the timeout WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Prohibit _ Timer parameter takes a value, the terminal does not allow the Event of the same type to be reported again. After T times out, if WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ ENABLED = TRUE, the terminal repeatedly REPORTs the same type of EVENT as described above according to S3.
Step S805, after receiving the event reported by the terminal, the network adopts a specific RRM processing mechanism implemented inside the network. Additionally, the evaluation enabling switching and reconfiguration of the WLAN usage effect performance event may be re-performed according to step S801.
Example two
In this embodiment, the terminal a having the capability of evaluating and reporting the usage effect performance of the terminal WLAN according to the embodiment of the present invention is located under the coverage of the wireless signals of the LTE and the WLAN, and the terminal a is in the RRC _ Connected mode in the LTE cell and is performing the VOLTE voice session, at time T0, the terminal a starts a download service of a multimedia file, and the network side migrates the IP service stream to the WLAN system according to the WLAN network selection and offloading control mechanism.
Fig. 9 is a signaling flow chart in this embodiment, and as shown in fig. 9, the signaling flow chart mainly includes the following steps:
in step S901, the eNB sends WLAN _ Usage _ event _ configuration _ Info to the terminal a through an RRC Connection Reconfiguration proprietary message, where the parameters are configured as follows:
WLAN_Usage_Event_Report_Enabled=Enabled;
WLAN_Usage_Event_Evaluation_Timer=2min;
WLAN_Usage_Event_Prohibit_Timer=30s;
terminal a sets the local variable WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ ENABLED = TRUE and is ready to start the evaluation of WLAN USAGE EVENTs.
Step S902, at time T1, the user finds that the downloading speed of the multimedia file is slow, and then manually suspends the downloading process, and manually migrates the IP traffic flow back to the LTE system to continue downloading. And later, the network side relocates the IP traffic flow to the WLAN system according to the WLAN network selection and flow distribution control mechanism. At time T2, the user finds the same problem as above, and again manually migrates the IP traffic back into the LTE system. Since the time interval T2-T1 is 1min +30s < WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Evaluation _ Timer (2min), terminal a records the Event WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy while stopping the Evaluation of this type of Event.
In step S903, since the terminal a is still in the RRC _ Connected mode, the terminal a reports the WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy event exclusively through the UE assistance information proprietary message.
In step S904, the terminal a then starts the REPORT repetition prevention timer T, and maintains the state of the variable WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ ENABLED = TRUE.
In step S905, after the eNB receives the WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy event reported by the terminal, the RRM policy determines that, within a period of time thereafter, no WLAN network selection and offloading Control mechanism on any RAN side is applied before the file downloading service of the terminal a is ended. In addition, before T is timeout, the eNB sends WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ suppression _ Info to the terminal a through RRCConnection Reconfiguration proprietary message, where the parameters are configured as follows:
WLAN_Usage_Event_Report_Enabled=Disabled;
to stop the process of terminal a's evaluation or reporting of any WLAN usage events. Terminal a then changes the variable WLAN USAGE EVENT REPORT ENABLED = FALSE and subsequently does not make any more assessments or REPORTs of WLAN USAGE EVENTs.
EXAMPLE III
In this embodiment, the terminal B having the capability of evaluating and reporting the usage effect performance of the terminal WLAN according to the embodiment of the present invention is located under the coverage of the radio signals of the LTE and the WLAN, and is in the RRC _ Idle mode in the LTE cell, and simultaneously monitors Paging from the eNB. At time T0, terminal B starts a Web access service, and the network side migrates the IP service flow to the WLAN system according to its WLAN network selection and offloading control mechanism, so terminal B is still in RRC _ Idle mode.
Fig. 10 is a signaling flow chart of the present embodiment, and as shown in fig. 10, the method mainly includes the following steps:
step S1001, the eNB sends WLAN _ Usage _ event _ Config _ Info to the terminal B through System Information System broadcast message, and the parameters are configured as follows:
WLAN_Usage_Event_Report_Enabled=Enabled;
WLAN_Usage_Event_Evaluation_Timer=5min;
WLAN_Usage_Offload_Ratio_Threshold=50%;
WLAN_Usage_Event_Prohibit_Timer=60s;
terminal B sets the local variable WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ ENABLED = TRUE and is ready to start the evaluation of WLAN USAGE EVENTs.
In step S1002, starting from time T1, terminal B starts to count the total accumulated amount of transmission data occurring in the WLAN and LTE systems, respectively, through an internal implementation mechanism. At time T2<5min, the user is successfully paged by the eNB, and then enters RRC _ Connected mode, after which IP traffic flows are transmitted in the LTE system, while Web traffic that has started before continues to be transmitted in the WLAN. By the time T3 ═ T1 + 5min, the Ratio of the total amount of data transmission/total amount of user data transmission in the WLAN system that terminal B has counted is 60% > WLAN _ use _ offroad _ Ratio _ Threshold (50%), whereupon the terminal records and prepares to report a WLAN _ use _ offroad _ Happy event, while stopping the evaluation of this type of event.
In step S1003, since the terminal B has exited the RRC _ Connected mode at this time, and returns to the RRC _ Idle mode, the terminal B temporarily reports the event without any special purpose. After the terminal B enters the RRC _ Connected mode again at time T4, the terminal B reports the WLAN _ Usage _ off _ Happy event along the path through the RRC Connection Reconfiguration Complete dedicated message.
Step S1004, the terminal B then starts the REPORT repetition prevention timer T, and maintains the state of WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ enable = TRUE.
Step S1005, after receiving the WLAN _ Usage _ Offload _ Happy event reported by the terminal, the eNB determines to continue to Offload the WEB services in the WLAN system for a certain period of time thereafter. In addition, before T is timeout, the eNB sends WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ suppression _ Info to the terminal B through an RRC Connection Reconfiguration dedicated message, where the parameters are configured as follows:
WLAN_Usage_Event_Report_Enabled=Disabled;
to stop the process of terminal B evaluating or reporting any WLAN USAGE EVENTs, whereupon terminal B changes the variable WLAN USAGE EVENT REPORT ENABLED = FALSE and does not proceed with any further evaluation or reporting of WLAN USAGE EVENTs.
Example four
In this embodiment, the terminal C having the capability of evaluating and reporting the usage effect performance of the terminal WLAN according to the embodiment of the present invention is located under the coverage of the radio signals of the UMTS and the WLAN, and is in a Cell _ DCH state in a UMTS Cell, and is performing a CS voice session, and at time T0, the terminal C starts an online video viewing service, and the network side migrates the IP service stream to the WLAN system according to its WLAN network selection and offloading control mechanism.
Fig. 11 is a signaling flow chart of the present embodiment, and as shown in fig. 11, the method mainly includes the following steps:
step S1101, the RNC transmits the WLAN _ Usage _ event _ configuration _ Info to the terminal C through a Radio Bearer Reconfiguration proprietary message, where the parameters are configured as follows:
WLAN_Usage_Event_Report_Enabled=Enabled;
WLAN_Usage_Event_Evaluation_Timer=1min;
WLAN_Usage_Event_Prohibit_Timer=30s;
terminal C sets the local variable WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ ENABLED = TRUE and is ready to start the evaluation of WLAN USAGE EVENTs.
At step S1102, at time T1, the user finds that the online video viewing effect is very bad, and then manually suspends the video viewing process, and manually migrates the IP traffic back to the UMTS system to continue online viewing. And later, the network side relocates the IP traffic flow to the WLAN system according to the WLAN network selection and flow distribution control mechanism. At time T2, the user has discovered the same problem as described above, again manually migrating the IP traffic back into the UMTS system. Since the time interval T2-T1 is 50s < WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Evaluation _ Timer (1min), terminal C records the Event WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy while stopping the continued Evaluation of this type of Event.
In step S1103, since the terminal C is still in the Cell _ DCH state, the terminal C reports the WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy event exclusively through the Measurement Report dedicated message.
In step S1104, the terminal C then starts the REPORT repetition prevention timer T, and maintains the state of the variable WLAN _ USAGE _ EVENT _ REPORT _ enable = TRUE.
In step S1105, after receiving the WLAN _ NW _ Control _ uhappy event reported by the terminal, the RNC decides that, within a period of time thereafter, the RRM policy does not apply any WLAN network selection and offloading Control mechanism on the RAN side any more until the terminal C finishes viewing the online video service. In addition, before T is timeout, the RNC sends WLAN _ Usage _ Event _ Prohibit _ Timer (30 s) to the terminal C through a Radio Bearer Reconfiguration dedicated message, where the parameters are configured as follows:
WLAN_Usage_Event_Report_Enabled=Disabled;
to stop the process of the terminal C of the evaluation or reporting of any WLAN USAGE EVENT, whereupon the terminal C changes the variable WLAN USAGE EVENT REPORT ENABLED = FALSE, and subsequently does not perform any further evaluation or reporting of WLAN USAGE EVENTs.
From the above description, it can be seen that the network side interacts with the terminal, and when a WLAN use event occurs in the configuration terminal, the effect performance of using the WLAN is evaluated, and an evaluation result is reported to the network side, so that the network side can obtain the effect performance of WLAN network selection and WLAN data offloading of the terminal, and then adjust the strategies of WLAN network selection and WLAN data offloading of the terminal according to the obtained information, thereby improving user experience.
