Description
The present invention relates to a backlight module for a display device; specifically, the present invention relates to a backlight module with an optical film positioning mechanism for a display device.
FIG. 1 shows a traditional backlight module structure, including a plastic frame 10 and an optical film 30 . The main function of the optical film 30 is to adjust the optical behavior of light generated by the light source below, and the plastic frame 10 is used to carry the optical film 30 or support the upper display panel. The side of the plastic frame 10 is usually provided with a retaining wall, and the optical film 30 is disposed in the retaining wall and supported by the plastic frame 10 . In order to fix the relationship between the optical film 30 and the plastic frame 10, usually an adhesive tape 50 is attached to the side of the optical film 30 and the plastic frame 10, or between the optical film 30 and the plastic frame 10 Double-sided adhesive tape is provided to prevent the optical film 30 from moving relative to the adhesive frame 10 .
However, when the backlight module is impacted by external force, the positioning ability provided by the adhesive tape 50 is limited. Sometimes the optical film 30 or the plastic frame 10 will be separated from the adhesive tape 50 due to the impact of external force, and then a relative displacement will occur. When the optical film 30 and the plastic frame 10 are displaced relative to each other, the optical quality may be affected, and even local damage may occur.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a backlight module that can reduce the chance of relative displacement between the optical films.
The backlight module includes a frame, an optical film group and a fixing ring. The optical film group is composed of at least one optical film and is arranged in the frame. The optical film group has a lug, and at least one side of the lug has a groove. The fixing ring hoops the lug and at least part of the fixing ring is engaged in the groove. Wherein, the frame includes a bearing surface, and the lug is supported by the bearing surface.
By setting the fixing ring, the degree of relative displacement of the optical film relative to the frame can be reduced, so as to increase product yield and the ability to withstand external impact.
The invention provides a backlight module. In a specific embodiment, the backlight module is used in conjunction with a liquid crystal display panel or other display panels that require backlight to generate images; however, in different embodiments, the backlight module can also be used in other devices that need to provide backlight.
Please refer to Fig. 2A, Fig. 2B and Fig. 3, Fig. 2A is a schematic diagram of explosion of a backlight module of a specific embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2B is a partially enlarged schematic diagram of Fig. 2A; Fig. 3 is a side view of a backlight module of a specific embodiment of the present invention In the schematic diagram, the backlight module includes a frame 100 , an optical film set 300 and a fixing ring 500 . The frame 100 can be made of plastic, but not limited thereto. In addition, the frame 100 may be formed as a rectangular closed frame, but not limited thereto. In different embodiments, the frame 100 can also be an open support frame such as an ㄇ shape, an L shape or a straight shape. The frame 100 has a bearing surface 110 which is parallel to the plane direction in which the frame 100 itself is distributed and extended. In addition, in this embodiment, a notch 130 is formed on the frame 100 , and the supporting surface 110 is the bottom surface of the notch 130 . However, in different embodiments, the bearing surface 110 may also be formed by the top surface of the upper sidewall of the frame 100 instead of the bottom surface of the recessed notch.
In this embodiment, the optical film set 300 is formed by stacking a plurality of optical films 310 , and is disposed in the frame 100 . The properties of the optical film 310 can be selected according to requirements, and the optional optical film 310 includes but not limited to a diffusion film, a brightness enhancement film, a reflective brightness enhancement film, and the like. In addition, the multiple optical films 310 in the same optical film set 300 are not limited to films with the same optical properties. The surrounding of the optical film set 300 is surrounded by the frame 100 or corresponds to the frame 100 . As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 , the optical film set 300 has one or more lugs 330 on the side facing the frame 100 , and the lugs 330 are directly or indirectly supported by the bearing surface 110 . In other words, the lug portion 330 is placed on the bearing surface 110 and is in direct or indirect contact with the bearing surface 110 . The frame 100 can support the optical film set 330 through the supporting surface 110 supporting the lug portion 330 . In this embodiment, the optical film set 330 is formed into a rectangle, and has lugs 330 on two opposite sides; the frame 110 is also formed into a rectangular frame correspondingly, and has a bearing surface 110 on two opposite sides. The frame 110 supports the optical film set 330 , and forms a space under the optical film set 330 for accommodating a light source or a light guide plate.
In a specific embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2 , grooves 350 are formed on both sides of the lug portion 330 , and the two sides mentioned here can be two sides in the direction in which the lug portion 330 protrudes toward the frame 100 . In this embodiment, each optical film 310 has lugs 311 at approximately the same position, and the lugs 311 are stacked together to form the lug portion 330 . As shown in FIG. 2 , the space formed by the notch 130 on the frame 100 has an opening 131 on the side facing the optical film set 300 , for the lug 330 to protrude from the opening 131 and be disposed on the supporting surface 110 .
330。As shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 , the fixing ring 500 hoops the lug portion 330 , and at least part of the fixing ring 500 is engaged in the groove 350 . In this embodiment, the fixing ring 500 is a closed and complete annular structure to surround the lug portion 330 . As shown in FIG. 3 , the fixing ring 500 has a bottom 510 passing through the bottom surface 331 of the lug 330 , and the bottom 510 passes between the bottom 331 of the lug 330 and the supporting surface 110 of the plastic frame 100 . Since the fixing ring 500 has a certain thickness, in this embodiment, the fixing ring 500 abuts against the bearing surface 110 , so that the bearing surface 110 can indirectly support the lug portion 330 via the fixing ring 500 .
The fixing ring 500 can be a rectangular ring and has a certain degree of elasticity, so the fixing ring 500 can be stretched to allow the lug 330 to protrude; then the fixing ring 500 can spring back and be positioned in the groove 350 . The width W 2 of the inner edge of the fixing ring 500 can be between the width W 1 of the lug portion 330 and the distance W 3 between the grooves 350 on both sides. However, in different embodiments, the fixing ring 500 may also exist in a strip-like or strip-like structure first, and then connect end to end to form a closed ring structure after hooping the lug portion 330 . In addition, in a specific embodiment, as shown in the partial top view of the backlight module in FIG . The portion can be completely sunk into the groove 350 without protruding from the side surface of the lug portion 330 . In this embodiment, the thickness T 1 of the fixing ring 500 is smaller than the depth T 2 of the recess 350 toward the lug 330 , so the fixing ring 500 is recessed in the groove 350 ; however, in different embodiments, the fixing The thickness T 1 of the ring 500 is equal to the depth T 2 of the indentation of the groove 350 toward the lug 330 , so that the fixing ring 500 is flush with the side of the lug 330 . With this arrangement, the width of the notch 130 on the frame 100 does not need to be particularly widened due to the arrangement of the fixing ring 500 .
According to the above-mentioned embodiment, the disposition of the fixing ring 500 can reduce the degree of relative displacement of the optical film 310 relative to the frame 100 , so as to increase the product yield and the ability to withstand external impact. In addition, the fixing ring 500 can also increase the integrity of the plurality of optical films 310 in the optical film set 300 , thereby reducing the possibility of relative displacement.
Please refer to FIG. 5 , which shows another embodiment of cooperation between the lug portion 330 and the fixing ring 500 . In this embodiment, the lug portion 330 is only provided with the groove 350 on a single side; this side is the side where the lug portion 330 protrudes toward the frame 100 . The fixing ring 500 hoops the lug portion 330 , and at least part of the fixing ring 500 is engaged in the groove 350 . Compared with the aforementioned embodiment in which there are grooves 350 on both sides of the lug portion 330 , this embodiment lacks the groove 350 for positioning the fixing ring 500 on one side of the lug portion 330 , but the lug portion 330 It is relatively easy to disassemble and assemble the fixing ring 500 because it only needs to correspond to the groove 350 on one side.
Please refer to FIG. 6 , which is a schematic side view of a backlight module according to another embodiment. A concave first accommodating groove 111 may be formed on the bearing surface 110 . The first accommodating groove 111 can extend along the extending direction of the bottom 510 of the fixing ring 500 . When the lug portion 330 is disposed on the bearing surface 110, the bottom 510 is accommodated in the first accommodating groove 111, so that the bottom surface 331 of the lug portion 330 can substantially contact the bearing surface 110, and become the bearing surface 110. directly supported. In addition, by extending the bottom portion 510 into the first accommodating groove 111 , the limiting effect of the lug portion 330 and the frame body 100 in the direction X in which the lug portion 330 protrudes from the optical film set 300 can also be increased. In this embodiment, the thickness of the bottom portion 510 may also be greater than the thickness of other parts of the fixing ring 500 . With this design, the above-mentioned restricting effect generated by the interference between the bottom 510 and the first accommodating groove 111 can be further enhanced.
FIG. 7 is a schematic partial top view of a backlight module according to another embodiment. In this embodiment, one side of the notch 130 has a side wall 150 corresponding to one side of the lug 330 . The side wall 150 has a second accommodating groove 151 , and the second accommodating groove 151 can extend along the extension direction of the fixing ring 500 passing through the lug portion 330 and a corresponding side portion of the side wall 150 . When the thickness T 3 of the fixing ring 500 is greater than the depth T 4 of the recess 350 toward the lug 330 , part of the fixing ring 500 protrudes from the side of the lug 330 . When the lug portion 330 protrudes into the notch 130 , the above-mentioned protruding portion of the fixing ring 500 at least partially protrudes into the second accommodating groove 151 . With this arrangement, the positioning effect between the lug portion 330 and the frame 100 can be further enhanced.
As shown in FIG. 8 , which is a partial schematic diagram of a plastic frame of a backlight module according to another embodiment, the second receiving groove 151 on the side wall 150 and the first receiving groove 111 on the supporting surface 110 can communicate with each other. When the lug portion 330 is disposed on the supporting surface 110 , the portion of the fixing ring 500 located at the side of the lug portion 330 and the bottom surface 331 can be embedded into the frame 100 at the same time. With this setting, in addition to increasing the positioning effect, it can also strengthen the integrity of the design.
FIG. 9 is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of a fixing ring 500 and an optical film set 300 ; in this embodiment, the fixing ring 500 is a semi-open rather than a closed design. The fixing ring 500 has a fracture 530 , and the inner sides of the fixing ring 500 corresponding to the two ends of the fracture 530 are respectively provided with hooks 550 . In other words, the shape of the fixing ring 500 may be similar to a horseshoe or a ㄇ shape, and hooks 550 are respectively provided at both ends. The arrangement of the hook 550 and the elasticity of the fixing ring 500 allow the lug 330 to push away from the hook 550 and enter the fixing ring 500 , and provide sufficient binding force to increase the resistance of the lug 330 to escape from the fixing ring 500 . When the lug portion 330 enters the fixing ring 500 , it is limited by the hook 550 and is not easy to come out. In addition, the fixing ring 500 in this example can surround the bottom surface 331 and two sides of the lug portion 330 , so that the top surface 333 of the lug portion 330 opposite to the bottom surface 331 faces the fracture 530 . In addition, the fracture 530 in this embodiment is not limited to facing or facing away from the supporting surface of the frame (not shown in this figure), and the orientation of the fracture 530 can be adjusted according to the cooperation with the frame.
FIG. 10 shows another embodiment of the backlight module. In this embodiment, the optical film set is replaced by a single optical film 310 . The properties of the optical film 310 can be selected according to requirements, and the optional optical film 310 includes but not limited to a diffusion film, a brightness enhancement film, a reflective brightness enhancement film, and the like. The configurations of the rest of the frame 100 and the fixing ring 500 are similar to those disclosed in the foregoing embodiments or adopt the same spirit. With the arrangement of the fixing ring 500 , the degree of relative displacement of the optical film 310 relative to the frame 100 can be reduced, so as to increase product yield and the ability to withstand external impact.
