Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及验证正品预记录光盘,以及禁用代替正品预记录盘使用的非正品可记录光盘。
背景技术
现在游戏控制台具有能够验证并播放预记录的正品(authentic)游戏盘的能力。由于游戏控制台的普及和利润丰厚的游戏盘的市场,伪造此类盘(盗版)频繁发生。非法复制游戏盘已证明难以停止,因为使用某些针对性技术的容易得到的廉价可记录光盘,可以以控制台将此类盘识别为正品预记录盘的方式来进行记录。一旦游戏控制台将可记录伪造盘识别为正品,游戏控制台就会读取盘,并允许玩游戏。拥有能够通过游戏控制台验证的盗版盘的用户无需获取合法盘。
因此,需要有这样一项技术,它用于验证合法盘,但禁用那些不合法的盘。
发明内容
简要地说,根据一个优选实施例,一种根据本发明的原理的用于禁用伪造光盘的方法,以读取光盘上的指定区域获得验证盘的信息开始。在盘验证时,对该指定区域进行加热。当盘包括可记录盘时,对指定区域的加热用于擦除指定区域中的(多个)记录扇区,从而使其中包含的用于验证该盘的数据不可读。对指定区域的这种加热不会损害正品的预记录盘,但对非正品的可记录盘来说是毁灭性的。

具体实施方式
图1示出了光盘100的顶视图。光盘100可以包括用于存储内容、在外观上为连续螺旋图案102的CD、DVD或蓝光盘。导入区104在螺旋图案102的开始处,导出区106在螺旋102的结束处。导入区104通常包括控制数据区域,其中包含使得光盘能够得以验证的控制数据,如物理格式信息、盘制造信息和内容提供商信息。读取控制数据后,游戏控制台中(未示出)存在的那一类型的盘播放器/记录器(未示出)或其他电子设备可以验证光盘。验证之后,盘播放器/记录器将访问存储在盘上的一个或多个示意性地示出为区110、120、130和140的多个内容存储区内的信息。在供游戏控制台使用的光盘的情形中,图1中的内容区110、120、130和140将以数据和指令的形式包含软件。当盘播放器/记录器读取软件时,将由游戏控制台中的处理器(未示出)执行软件,使用户能够播放存储在光盘中的一个或多个游戏。
程序区110、120、130和140可能包含音频或视听内容,而非包含软件。典型的游戏控制台允许用户回放包含电影或其他存储在盘上的视听内容的盘。
寻求游戏合法来源的游戏控制台用户通常会购买直接从原始内容所有者或游戏开发商或在其授权下制作和分发的零售预记录盘。术语“预记录的”用于定义在制造过程中生产的带有内容的盘。预记录盘的制造商使用众所周知的技术制作这种盘,如从由记录原始正品数据的玻璃母版(glass master)制造的金属压模得到的注塑成型复制品(“复制”)。
虽然内容所有者和盘制造商利用各种反盗版技术防止伪造的预记录盘的复制/成型,但便宜的可记录盘和记录器的广泛普及还是导致记录有被设计用来规避上述反盗版技术的针对性定制的记录软件的“盗版”盘大量出现。这些盗版盘一旦通过游戏控制台内盘播放器/记录器的验证,就允许玩游戏,就像盘是合法的预记录盘一样。
可记录光盘具有至少一个可以是有机染料或无机/金属层的记录层。为了在可记录光盘上记录,盘播放器/记录器使染料层受到激光束作用,以在物理上改变层的属性,烧录出与代表要记录的信息的二进制位序列对应的图案。在回放过程中,盘播放器/记录器将读取烧录到记录层中的图案,以重现代表所记录信息的位序列。随后通过激光束加热记录层(烧入)将导致记录层属性进一步改变,通常会使得先前烧入的数据永久不可读。
参照图2,示出了图1中光盘的横截面图,根据本发明的原理,预记录盘的热敏感性可用来禁用非正品盘。相同的参考标号出现在图2中以标识与图1中光盘100共有的元素。本发明的原理的禁用方法可用来处理在游戏控制台和其他电子设备中使用非正品盗版可记录盘的问题。该方法以首先验证插入到游戏控制台或其他电子设备的盘播放器/记录器中的盘开始。验证以众所周知的方式通过读取导入区104的控制区域中的数据开始。通常情况下,其盘播放器/记录器验证过某个盘的游戏控制台或其他电子设备以后会将该盘视为正品,无论该盘是否实际上包括伪造的可记录盘。
根据本发明的原理,在验证后,游戏控制台或其他电子设备内的盘播放器/记录器会接收到指令以便通过图2中的激光束150将高功率烧录循环(burncycle)应用到验证盘中的要求启动或验证该盘的关键区域(如,图2中的导入区104)。通过施加激光束150到导入区104进行的烧录循环用于破坏或擦除可记录盘导入区内的数据结构。通常情况下,光盘(CD、DVD和Blu-ray)包括在主要或第一数据层的内半径处的关键的导入或控制数据部分,描绘为导入区104。该区包括用于识别、标识、验证和启动光盘100的关键数据。烧入循环对预记录盘没有持久影响,因为只有可记录盘在本质上是热敏感的,在升高的温度下会发生永久变形/擦除。
本发明的禁用方法利用了可记录光盘的重要属性。如所讨论的,可记录盘在被光盘播放器/记录器产生的高功率激光束曝光时进行记录。如上面所讨论的,可记录盘的特征在于用有机或无机材料制造的、被设计用来吸收激光能量以实现记录层中永久的物理或结构改变的记录层。预记录盘缺乏这种可记录层,因此不会受到记录激光束的影响。
今天大多数的光盘驱动器能够同时用作具有刻写和回放光盘能力的记录器和播放器。许多光盘应用,包括今天的游戏控制台,允许很大程度上控制盘播放器/记录器以使得改变激光束功率来从盘中读取数据。将用来读取光盘的激光束的强度增加到足以改变可记录层的程度将禁用伪造的预记录盘,尽管该盘由游戏控制台或其他电子设备验证。
上述内容对用于禁用已经验证但属于伪造的可记录光盘的技术进行了说明。
Claims (6)
1.一种用于禁用伪造/盗版的非正品光盘的方法,包括下列步骤:
读取光盘上的指定区域以获得用于验证盘的信息,并且在盘验证时,
当盘包括可记录盘时,对该指定区域进行加热以擦除该指定区域中的可记录扇区,从而使包含在该指定区域中的用于盘验证的数据不可读。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中读取步骤包括用激光束照射该指定区域的步骤。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中加热步骤包括用激光束照射该指定区域的步骤。
4.如权利要求2所述的方法,其中加热步骤包括:用照射指定区域读取获得用于验证光盘的信息的激光束照射指定区域的步骤。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中用激光束照射指定区域的步骤包括调整激光束的强度或功率之一以在盘包括可记录盘时擦除该指定区域中的可记录扇区的步骤。
6.一种用于禁用伪造的光盘的方法,包括以下步骤:
通过激光束读取光盘上的指定区域以获得用于验证光盘的信息,并且在盘验证时,
当该光盘包括可记录盘时,通过读取光盘的激光束对该指定区域加热以擦除该指定区域中的可记录扇区,从而使包含在该指定区域中用于盘验证的数据不可读。
