Description

Method, device and system for redirecting mobile terminal to target network
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of communication, in particular to a method, a device and a system for redirecting a mobile terminal to a target network.
Background
Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a mainstream technology of 4G Long Term Evolution in mobile communication, and technologies such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Multiple-Input Multiple-output (MIMO) and a flat architecture are adopted to improve communication rate and spectrum efficiency and reduce delay of a wireless network. When a Mobile terminal (UE) residing in a serving cell of a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) network enters an LTE network signal coverage area of an operator or an equivalent operator, the operator generally gives priority to migrating the UE to the serving cell of the LTE network as soon as possible for various reasons, so as to provide corresponding services to users more efficiently.
The UMTS network may migrate the UE into the LTE system target serving cell through a cross-system Redirection technique (Redirection). For example, the UE has already established Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection and some Radio bearers (Radio Bearer) in the UMTS serving cell, and the UMTS network carries Redirection information (Redirection info) in an RRC connection RELEASE message (rrcconnectionrelease), instructs the UE to RELEASE the existing RRC connection and Radio bearers, and then performs cell selection in the indicated target system to reestablish air interface signaling connection and Radio bearers.
Fig. 1 is a flowchart of redirection of a UE from UMTS to LTE under network control according to the related art, as shown in fig. 1, which mainly includes the following steps:
step 101: and the network side carries the LTE frequency point list and the time t used by the UE for searching the frequency points through a redirection process.
The time t can be determined according to the configured frequency point number and the judgment of the network side on the wireless environment where the current UE is located. For example, if the network side wants the UE to reselect to LTE as much as possible to avoid going back to UMTS soon, a relatively long t may be configured, and if the network side wants the current service of the UE not to be interrupted, a relatively small t may be configured.
Therefore, the frequency point and the searching time of the UE are controlled by the network side, and the probability of finding the LTE cell by the UE is increased by configuring the longer t, so that the redirection success rate is improved.
Step 102: the UE receives the redirected information and acquires an LTE frequency point list and search time t, and the terminal searches frequency points in sequence and tries to reside LTE cells on the frequency points in sequence;
step 103: is the UE determine whether the currently searched LTE cell can camp on? If yes, go to step 104; otherwise, go to step 105;
step 104: and the UE is accessed in the LTE cell, and the redirection process is finished.
Step 105: is the UE determine whether the time spent searching for the LTE cell is greater than t? If the time is more than the time t, turning to step 106; otherwise, turning to step 107;
step 106: the UE returns to the UMTS cell. The redirection flow ends.
The returned UMTS cell may be the original cell or a new cell.
Step 107: is UE determined whether all configured LTE frequency points have been searched? If the search is finished, turning to the step 102 to search the configured LTE frequency point again so as to improve the possibility of searching a suitable LTE cell, thereby improving the success rate of redirecting to the LTE; otherwise go to step 108;
step 108: the UE has a next LTE cell to try and go to step 103.
Currently, LTE networks are basically local hot-spot coverage, which may cause failure of redirection of UEs from UMTS to LTE networks due to real-time variation of network radio signal strength quality due to random mobility of UEs, or some problems of UEs themselves. And after the UE fails to redirect to the LTE network, the UE re-resides and accesses the original UMTS network through the UMTS service cell selection process. Since the UMTS network side does not store the RRC connection history information of the UE, it cannot be determined that the UE has just experienced LTE redirection failure, and therefore, the UMTS network may attempt to redirect the UE to the LTE network, which may continue to cause failure of UE redirection to LTE. The continuous LTE camping and access failure results in that the UE cannot obtain the radio bearer service of the network for a long time, which greatly affects the communication experience of the user.
In the related art, an effective solution is not provided at present for the problem that the UE cannot obtain the radio bearer service of the network for a long time because the network side cannot judge that the UE has just experienced the failure of redirection to the target network and continuously redirects the UE to the target network.

Detailed Description
The invention will be described in detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings in conjunction with embodiments. It should be noted that the embodiments and features of the embodiments in the present application may be combined with each other without conflict.
The embodiment of the invention provides a device for redirecting a mobile terminal to a target network, which is positioned at the mobile terminal and aims at solving the problem that in the related technology, the UE cannot obtain the wireless bearer service of the network for a long time because the network side cannot judge that the UE is just failed to be redirected to the target network and continuously redirects the UE to the target network.
Fig. 2 is a device for redirecting a mobile terminal to a target network according to an embodiment of the present invention, where the device is located at the mobile terminal, and as shown in fig. 2, the device mainly includes: a connection module 10, configured to establish a radio resource control RRC connection in a source network; a receiving module 20, configured to receive an RRC connection release message sent by a network side, where the RRC connection release message carries information indicating that the mobile terminal is redirected to a target network; a redirection module 30, coupled to the receiving module 20, for redirecting to the target network according to the RRC connection release message; and a re-access module 40, coupled to the redirection module 30, configured to re-initiate an RRC connection setup request message that does not carry pre-redirection information to the network side of the source network when redirection to the target network fails, indicating that the mobile terminal does not support redirection to the target network.
By the device provided by the embodiment of the invention, when the mobile terminal fails to be redirected to the target network and returns to the source network, the RRC connection establishment request message sent to the source network does not carry the pre-redirection information to indicate that the mobile terminal does not support redirection to the target network, and after the source network receives the RRC connection establishment message, the source network can judge that the UE does not support redirection to the target network, so that the UE can not be redirected to the target network any more, the problem that the UE cannot obtain the wireless bearer service of the network for a long time due to failure in continuous redirection to the target network is avoided, the user experience is improved, and the probability of redirection failure of the UE to the target network is reduced.
In order to enable the UE to obtain a better network service and redirect the UE to the target network as far as possible when the UE can access the target network, in a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a certain condition may be set, and only when a predetermined condition is satisfied and the UE returns to the source network again, the RRC connection establishment request message not carrying the pre-redirection information is sent to the network side. In the preferred embodiment, as shown in fig. 3, the re-access module 40 may include: a determining module 410, configured to determine whether a predetermined condition is currently met in case of failure to redirect to a target network; a sending module 420, coupled to the determining module 410, configured to, when the determining module 410 determines that the predetermined condition is currently met, re-initiate an RRC connection setup request message that does not carry the pre-redirection information to the network side of the source network.
In a preferred implementation of the embodiment of the present invention, the predetermined condition may include, but is not limited to, one or any combination of the following:
(1) the mobile terminal receives NAS or AS layer downlink information from a network side of a source network and indicates the source network to immediately delete the context information of the mobile terminal after RRC connection release;
the source network notifies the UE through the NAS or AS layer downlink message, and the source network instantly deletes the context information of the UE after the RRC connection is released, so that the source network cannot distinguish the RRC access of the UE after the redirection failure from the normal RRC access of the general UE, and therefore the UE is required to send an RRC connection establishment request message which does not carry the pre-redirection information so AS to notify the source network.
(2) The mobile terminal detects that the mobile terminal is not in a high-speed moving state at present, and the cell returning to the source network after the redirection failure of the mobile terminal is the same as the cell returning to the source network before the redirection;
that is, the UE detects that it is currently in a non-High speed Mobility procedure, e.g., the UE detects that it is not in a High-Mobility Detected state (High-Mobility Detected) according to the 3GPP 25.304 specification. When the UE is in a non-high-speed moving process, it can be considered that before and after the UE fails to be redirected, the physical location and the target network wireless coverage environment of the UE do not change much, and therefore, the probability of failure when the UE is redirected to the target network again is high. When the UE is in a high-speed moving state, the UE is likely to have moved to a new camping cell of the source network or a different position of the source cell, and the coverage environment of the target network may also change, so in this preferred embodiment, the UE allows the network to try redirection to a new LTE cell again in this case.
(3) The time length of the interval between the mobile terminal receiving the RRC connection release request message and sending the RRC connection establishment request message exceeds a preset threshold;
that is, the duration of the UE redirection interrupt is greater than a predetermined threshold, where a value of the predetermined threshold may be determined by the UE or the network side configuration. For example, the decision may be determined according to the RRC specific state of the UE and the active characteristics of the network for the UE's current radio bearer, such as 12 s. The time interval between receiving the RRC connection release message and the RRC connection access request message after the redirection failure is longer than the threshold value, which indicates that the UE has suffered a strong service connection interruption feeling that is hard to endure, and the network should recover the radio bearer for the UE as quickly as possible to maintain the service feeling of the user. Therefore, there is a need to avoid re-redirection of the UE to the target network to prolong the access delay.
(4) The mobile terminal does not have the function of automatic detection or automatic search of the cell of the redirection target network in the RRC connection state, or the function of reporting the cell measurement result of the target network;
if the UE supports the above functions, it means that the UE can well detect the target network coverage environment in the implementation layer, and therefore, the RRC connection access after the redirection failure allows carrying the Pre-redirection information (e.g., Pre-redirection information cell), i.e., allows redirecting the UE to the target network again.
(5) The RRC connection release message sent by the source network and received by the mobile terminal does not indicate whether the mobile terminal is allowed to carry the pre-redirection information if it experiences redirection failure.
In a preferred implementation of the embodiment of the present invention, the source network is a UMTS network; the target network is an LTE network. Of course, the present invention is not limited to this, and the source network and the target network may be other networks in practical applications.
According to the embodiment of the invention, the invention also provides a system for redirecting the mobile terminal to the target network.
Fig. 4 is a schematic structural diagram of a system for redirecting a mobile terminal to a target network according to an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 4, the system mainly includes: a mobile terminal 2 and a network side 4 of a source network. The mobile terminal 2 may include the apparatus for redirecting the mobile terminal to the target network according to any of the above embodiments. The network side 4 of the source network is configured to receive an RRC connection establishment request message that is sent by the mobile terminal 2 and does not carry pre-redirection information after redirecting the mobile terminal 2 to the target network, and prohibit redirecting the mobile terminal 2 to the target network again for the RRC connection establishment request message.
Through the system provided by the embodiment of the invention, when the mobile terminal 2 fails to be redirected to the target network and returns to the source network, the RRC connection establishment request message sent to the source network does not carry the pre-redirection information to indicate that the mobile terminal does not support redirection to the target network, and the network side 4 of the source network can judge that the UE does not support redirection to the target network after receiving the RRC connection establishment message, so that the UE can not be redirected to the target network any more, the problem that the UE cannot obtain the radio bearer service of the network for a long time due to continuous redirection to the target network failure is avoided, the user experience is improved, and the probability of redirection failure of the UE to the target network is reduced.
According to the embodiment of the invention, the invention also provides a method for redirecting the mobile terminal to the target network.
Fig. 5 is a flowchart of a method for redirecting a mobile terminal to a target network according to an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 5, the method mainly includes the following steps (step S502-step S506):
step S502, the mobile terminal establishes RRC connection in the source network;
step S504, the mobile terminal receives an RRC connection release message sent by the network side, wherein the RRC connection release message carries information indicating that the mobile terminal is redirected to a target network;
step S506, the mobile terminal fails to redirect to the target network according to the RRC connection release message, and the mobile terminal re-initiates an RRC connection establishment request message which does not carry pre-redirection information to the network side of the source network to indicate that the mobile terminal does not support redirection to the target network.
By the method provided by the embodiment of the invention, when the mobile terminal fails to be redirected to the target network and returns to the source network, the RRC connection establishment request message sent to the source network does not carry the pre-redirection information to indicate that the mobile terminal does not support redirection to the target network, and after the source network receives the RRC connection establishment message, the source network can judge that the UE does not support redirection to the target network, so that the UE can not be redirected to the target network any more, the problem that the UE cannot obtain the wireless bearer service of the network for a long time due to failure in continuous redirection to the target network is avoided, the user experience is improved, and the probability of redirection failure of the UE to the target network is reduced.
In this preferred embodiment, the re-initiating, by the mobile terminal, the RRC connection establishment request message that does not carry the pre-redirection information to the network side of the source network includes: and the mobile terminal determines that the current condition is met, and re-initiates the RRC connection establishment request message which does not carry pre-redirection information to the network side of the source network.
In a preferred implementation of the embodiment of the present invention, the predetermined condition may include, but is not limited to, one or any combination of the following:
(1) the mobile terminal receives NAS or AS layer downlink information from a network side of a source network and indicates the source network to immediately delete the context information of the mobile terminal after RRC connection release;
the source network notifies the UE through the NAS or AS layer downlink message, and the source network instantly deletes the context information of the UE after the RRC connection is released, so that the source network cannot distinguish the RRC access of the UE after the redirection failure from the normal RRC access of the general UE, and therefore the UE is required to send an RRC connection establishment request message which does not carry the pre-redirection information so AS to notify the source network.
(2) The mobile terminal detects that the mobile terminal is not in a high-speed moving state at present, and the cell returning to the source network after the redirection failure of the mobile terminal is the same as the cell returning to the source network before the redirection;
that is, the UE detects that it is currently in a non-High speed mobility procedure, e.g., the UE detects that it is not in a High-mobility detected state (High-mobility detected) according to the 3GPP 25.304 specification.
(3) The time length of the interval between the mobile terminal receiving the RRC connection release request message and sending the RRC connection establishment request message exceeds a preset threshold;
that is, the duration of the UE redirection interrupt is greater than a predetermined threshold, where a value of the predetermined threshold may be determined by the UE or the network side configuration.
(4) The mobile terminal does not have the function of automatic detection or automatic search of the cell of the target network in the RRC connection state, or the mobile terminal does not have the function of reporting the cell measurement result of the target network;
if the UE supports the above functions, it means that the UE can well detect the target network coverage environment in the implementation layer, and therefore, the RRC connection access after the redirection failure allows carrying the Pre-redirection information (e.g., Pre-redirection information cell), i.e., allows redirecting the UE to the target network again.
(5) The RRC connection release message sent by the source network and received by the mobile terminal does not indicate whether the mobile terminal is allowed to carry the pre-redirection information if it experiences redirection failure.
In this embodiment of the present invention, after the mobile terminal re-initiates the RRC connection establishment request message to the network side of the source network, the method further includes: and aiming at the RRC connection establishment request message of the mobile terminal, the network side of the source network forbids the mobile terminal to be redirected to the target network. Thereby, the failure of re-redirection of the target network by the UE can be avoided.
In a preferred implementation of the embodiment of the present invention, the source network is a UMTS network; the target network is an LTE network. Of course, the present invention is not limited to this, and the source network and the target network may be other networks in practical applications.
In a preferred implementation manner of the embodiment of the present invention, the information indicating that the mobile terminal redirects to the target network includes: evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) target information.
The following describes the technical solution provided by the embodiment of the present invention, taking the source network as a UMTS network and the target network as an LTE network as an example.
Example one
When the UE establishes RRC CONNECTION and some Radio Bearers (Radio Bearers) in a UMTS serving cell, the UMTS network carries Redirection Info/Inter-RAT Info/E-UTRA Target Info through RRC CONNECTION RELEASE message (RRC CONNECTION RELEASE), orders the UE to RELEASE the existing RRC CONNECTION and Radio Bearers, and performs cell selection on LTE Target frequency points. The UE performs Redirection from the UMTS network to the LTE network, after Redirection fails, the UE retries to access the UMTS network again and recovers the radio bearers released before establishment, if the UE meets any preset condition, the UE does not carry a Pre-Redirection Info (Pre-Redirection Info) cell in an RRC Connection Request message to indicate that the UE does not support Redirection to the LTE network, a subsequent UMTS Radio Network Controller (RNC) does not redirect the RRC access Request of the UE to the LTE network, and the UE is subjected to high-priority RRC access based on the possibly stored UE Context information Context Info (such AS UE non-access stratum and access stratum AS identification, source UMTS serving cell id, radio bearer configuration information once established by the UE, time stamp when the UE receives the NAS Connection release message to leave the UMTS, and the like). Wherein the predetermined conditions include, but are not limited to:
1) the network informs the UE through the downlink message of the NAS or AS layer, and the UMTS network deletes the context information of the UE immediately after the RRC connection is released, so that the RRC access of the UE after the redirection failure cannot be distinguished from the normal RRC access of the general UE.
2) The UE is in the process of non-high-speed movement, and the UMTS cell returned after the redirection failure of the UE is the same as the source UMTS.
When the UE is in a non-High speed moving process, i.e. the UE does not detect that it is in a High-mobility detected state (High-mobility detected) according to the 3GPP 25.304 specification. Before and after the redirection failure of the UE, the physical location and the LTE wireless coverage environment of the UE do not change much, so that the probability of failure when the UE is redirected to LTE again is high. When the UE is in a high-speed moving state, the UE is likely to have moved to a different location of a new UMTS camped cell or source UMTS cell, and the LTE coverage environment has changed, thus, the UE allows the network to try redirection to the new LTE cell again.
3) The duration of the UE redirection interrupt is greater than a threshold, which may be determined by the UE or the network side according to a configuration manner, for example, T is 12 s. The configuration value of the service interruption length evaluation T (i.e., the threshold value) may be determined by the specific RRC state of the UE and the active characteristics of the network for the current radio bearer of the UE. If the time interval between the UE receiving the RRC connection release message and the RRC connection access request message after the redirection failure is longer than the threshold, it indicates that the UE has suffered an intolerable strong service connection interruption, and the network should recover the radio bearer for the UE as quickly as possible to maintain the service experience of the user.
4) The UE does not have the function of automatic detection, automatic Search, or proximity detection (E-UTRA detection, LTE proximity detection) of the RRC connected state for the LTE cell (which may be a home base station type cell) or the function of reporting the measurement result of the LTE cell. If the UE supports the functions, the UE can well detect the LTE coverage environment in the implementation level, so that the RRC connection access after the Redirection failure still allows the Pre-Redirection info cell to be carried.
5) The network does not indicate to the UE in any explicit or implicit cell expression manner in the RRC connection release message whether to allow carrying of the Pre-Redirection info cell if the UE experiences Redirection failure.
Example two
The present embodiment takes the case of performing redirection from UMTS to LTE based on network control as an example.
Fig. 6 is a flowchart of redirection from UMTS to LTE under network control in this embodiment, as shown in fig. 6, the method mainly includes the following steps:
step 601: and the network side carries the LTE frequency point list and the time t used by the UE for searching the frequency points through a redirection process.
The time t can be taken according to the configured frequency point number and the judgment of the network side on the wireless environment where the current UE is located. For example, if the network side wants the UE to reselect to LTE as much as possible to avoid going back to UMTS soon, a relatively long t may be configured, and if the network side wants the current service of the UE not to be interrupted, a relatively small t may be configured.
In this embodiment, both the frequency point and the time for searching by the UE can be controlled by the network side, and the longer t configuration increases the probability that the UE finds the LTE cell, thereby improving the success rate of redirection.
Step 602: the UE receives the redirected information and acquires an LTE frequency point list and search time t, and the UE searches frequency points in sequence and tries to reside LTE cells on the frequency points in sequence;
step 603: is the UE determine whether the currently searched LTE cell can camp on? If yes, go to step 604; otherwise, go to step 605;
step 604: UE reestablishes RAB in the LTE cell and releases RAB of the original UMTS cell; the UE successfully resides in the LTE cell, and the redirection process is finished;
step 605: is the UE determine whether the time spent searching for the LTE cell is greater than t? If the time is more than the time t, turning to step 606; otherwise go to step 607;
step 606: the UE returns to the UMTS cell. Judging whether the RRC Connection request message can carry the Pre-Redirection info, namely judging whether any one of the following conditions is met, if so, turning to step 609, and if not, turning to step 610, otherwise, turning to step 609, if not, turning to step RRCConnection request message not carrying the Pre-Redirection info cell.
1) The UE is in the process of non-high-speed movement, and the UMTS cell returned after the redirection failure of the UE is the same as the source UMTS. When the UE is in a non-High speed moving process, i.e. the UE does not detect that it is in a High-mobility detected state. Before and after the redirection failure of the UE, the physical location and the LTE wireless coverage environment of the UE do not change much, so that the probability of failure when the UE is redirected to LTE again is high. When the UE is in a high-speed moving state, the UE is likely to have moved to a different location of a new UMTS camped cell or source UMTS cell, and the LTE coverage environment has also changed, so the UE allows the network to try again to redirect to the new LTE cell.
2) The duration of the UE redirection interrupt is greater than a threshold, which may be determined by the UE or the network side according to a predefined manner, such as 12 s. If the time interval between the UE receiving the RRC connection release message and the RRC connection access request message after the redirection failure is longer than the threshold value, it indicates that the UE has suffered a strong service connection interruption experience, so the network should recover the radio bearer for the UE as fast as possible to maintain the service experience of the user.
3) The UE does not have the function of automatic detection, automatic Search, or proximity detection (E-UTRA detection, LTE proximity detection) of the RRC connected state for the LTE cell (which may be a home base station type cell) or the function of reporting the measurement result of the LTE cell. If the UE supports the functions, the UE can well detect the LTE coverage environment in the implementation level, so that the RRC connection access after the redirection failure still allows the Pre-redirection information cell to be carried.
4) The network does not indicate to the UE in any explicit or implicit cell expression manner in the RRC connection release message whether to allow carrying of the Pre-Redirection info cell if the UE experiences Redirection failure.
The returned UMTS cell may be the original cell or a new cell. The UE returns the original information such as the UMTS cell can pass through the cell update, and the UE returns any UMTS cell can pass through the cell reselection process.
5) The source network notifies the UE through the NAS or AS layer downlink message, and the source network deletes the context information of the UE immediately after the RRC connection is released.
Step 607: is UE determined whether all configured LTE frequency points have been searched? If the search is finished, step 602 is executed to perform another search on the configured LTE frequency point to improve the possibility of searching a suitable LTE cell, so that the success rate of redirection to LTE is improved; otherwise go to step 608;
step 608: the UE has a next LTE cell to try and go to step 603.
Step 609: the UE returns to the UMTS cell and does not carry the Pre-Redirection info cell in the RRC Connection Request message.
Step 610: the UE returns to the UMTS cell and carries the Pre-Redirection info cell in the RRC Connection Request message.
From the above description, it can be seen that, according to one or more embodiments of the present invention, when a mobile terminal fails to be redirected to a target network and returns to a source network, a pre-redirection message is not carried in an RRC connection setup request message sent to the source network to indicate that the mobile terminal does not support redirection to the target network, and after receiving the RRC connection setup message, the source network can determine that a UE does not support redirection to the target network, so that the UE can not be redirected to the target network any more, a problem that the UE cannot obtain a radio bearer service of the network for a long time due to a failure in continuous redirection to the target network is avoided, user experience is improved, and a probability of a redirection failure of the UE to the target network is reduced.
