The invention relates to an image recognition type street lamp brightness prediction control and maintenance system. The system includes a binocular stereo vision sensor, a motion analysis module, a CAN communication transmission bus, a main controller of a street lamp electric cabinet, an intelligent dimming ballast, and an HID street lamp. The binocular stereo vision sensor distributed and installed according to the specific conditions of the communication and field of view obtains the image of the road condition and transmits it to the motion analysis module. The motion analysis module transmits the position and moving direction information of the target to the main controller of the street lamp electric cabinet through CAN communication, and the main controller of the street lamp electric cabinet judges whether it is necessary to increase the brightness of the HID street lamp based on this information. The lighting brightness of several HID street lamps in the direction of vehicle movement can avoid the dilemma of "dark under the lamp".
