发明详述

本发明宽泛地包括一种脱敏、防牙垢口腔护理组合物,所述组合物包含口腔可接受的媒介物和有效脱敏和防牙垢量的焦磷酸四钾。
在本发明人发现的基础上,本发明预言,焦磷酸四钾在口腔护理组合物(特别是洁牙剂)内可提供双重功能,即提供脱敏益处的第一功能和提供牙垢控制益处的第二功能。通过单一焦磷酸四钾活性剂可实现这两个功能。无需提供另外的基于钾的脱敏剂。
与提供脱敏益处的已知的洁牙剂相比,双重功能添加剂的该技术方案还显著地节约成本。这是因为为了在洁牙剂内提供给定浓度的钾离子以提供给定的脱敏益处,通常包含基于洁牙剂组合物重量的约1.95%的钾离子,使用焦磷酸四钾作为唯一的钾源的成本显著低于如果钾源为硝酸钾(贵约3倍)、柠檬酸钾(贵约1倍)或氯化钾(贵约1.5倍)的情况。

在本发明的口腔护理组合物中,焦磷酸四钾可用作能与在细菌的细胞壁中发现的钙复合物的螯合剂。与这种钙结合使细菌细胞壁弱化并提高细菌的溶解。焦磷酸四钾为水合和未水合两种形式。在本发明的组合物中可用作这种螯合剂的焦磷酸盐的有效量通常足以提供至少1.0%焦磷酸根离子,约1.5%至约6%,约3.5%至约6%的这种离子。

所述口腔护理组合物还可包含一种或多种氟离子源。宽范围的多种产生氟离子的材料在本发明的组合物中可用作可溶性氟离子的来源。合适的产生氟离子的材料的实例可见Briner等人的美国专利号3,535,421;Parran,Jr.等人的美国专利号4,885,155;和Widder等人的美国专利号3,678,154,这些专利通过引用结合到本文中。

任选包含在所述组合物中的另一种试剂可为一种表面活性剂或多种相容的表面活性剂的混合物。合适的表面活性剂为在整个宽pH范围内相当稳定的那些,例如,阴离子、阳离子、非离子或两性离子表面活性剂。

在某些实施方案中,本文可用的阴离子表面活性剂包括在烷基中具有10-18个碳原子的烷基硫酸酯的水溶性盐和具有10-18个碳原子的脂肪酸的磺化甘油一酯的水溶性盐。十二烷基硫酸钠、月桂酰基肌氨酸钠和椰油甘油一酯磺酸钠为此类阴离子表面活性剂的实例。还可使用多种阴离子表面活性剂的混合物。
在另一实施方案中,可用的阳离子表面活性剂可宽泛地定义为具有一个含有约8-18个碳原子的长烷基链的脂族季铵化合物的衍生物,例如十二烷基三甲基氯化铵、十六烷基氯化吡啶十六烷基三甲基溴化铵、二异丁基苯氧基乙基二甲基苄基氯化铵、椰油烷基三甲基亚硝酸铵、十六烷基氟化吡啶及其混合物。

可用于所述组合物的示例性非离子表面活性剂可宽泛地定义为由烯化氧基团(性质上为亲水性的)与有机疏水性化合物缩合而制备的化合物,所述有机疏水性化合物可为脂族或烷基芳族性质。合适的非离子表面活性剂的实例包括但不限于普流罗尼克(Pluronics)、烷基苯酚的聚环氧乙烷缩合物、由环氧乙烷与环氧丙烷和乙二胺的反应产物缩合而衍生的产物、脂族醇的环氧乙烷缩合物、长链叔胺氧化物、长链叔氧化膦、长链二烷基亚砜和这些材料的混合物。
在某些实施方案中,可使用两性离子合成的表面活性剂并且可宽泛地描述为脂族季铵、磷和硫化合物的衍生物,其中所述脂族基团可为直链或支链的,一个脂族取代基可含有约8-18个碳原子并含有阴离子水-增溶基团,例如,羧基、磺酸根、硫酸根、磷酸根或膦酸根。适于包含在所述组合物中的表面活性剂的示例性实例包括但不限于烷基硫酸钠、月桂酰基肌氨酸钠、椰油酰氨基丙基甜菜碱和聚山梨醇酯20,及其组合。
表面活性剂或多种相容性表面活性剂的混合物可存在于本发明的组合物中,其量为所述组合物总重量的约0.1%至约5.0%,在另一实施方案中,为约0.3%至约3.0%,在另一实施方案中,为约0.5%至约2.0%重量。在单个条或带中表面活性剂的用量(即,单一剂量)为约0.001-0.05%重量,0.003-0.03%重量,在另一实施方案中,为约0.005-0.02%重量。
用于本发明的实践的矫味剂包括但不限于精油以及多种矫味醛、酯、醇和类似的材料。精油的实例包括以下物质的油:留兰香、薄荷、冬青树、黄樟、丁香、鼠尾草、桉树、牛至属植物、肉桂、柠檬、酸橙、柚子和桔子。这样的物质,例如薄荷醇、香芹酮和茴香脑也是有用的。某些实施方案采用薄荷和留兰香的油。
所述组合物还任选包含一种或多种聚合物。这种材料为本领域众所周知的,可采用其游离酸或部分或完全被中和的水溶性碱金属(例如钾和钠)或铵盐形式。某些实施方案包括马来酸酐或马来酸与另一种可聚合的烯属不饱和单体的1∶4至4∶1共聚物,所述可聚合的烯属不饱和单体为例如,分子量(M.W.)为约30,000至约1,000,000的甲基乙烯基醚(甲氧基乙烯)。这些共聚物可得自例如GAF ChemicalsCorporation的Gantrez AN 139(M.W.500,000)、AN 119(M.W.250,000)和S-97 Pharmaceutical Grade(M.W.70,000)。
其他聚合物包括例如马来酸酐与丙烯酸乙酯、甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯、N-乙烯基-2-吡咯烷酮或乙烯的1∶1共聚物的那些,乙烯可例如得自Monsanto EMA No.1103,M.W.10,000和EMA Grade 61,以及丙烯酸与甲基丙烯酸甲酯或甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯、丙烯酸甲酯或丙烯酸乙酯、异丁基乙烯基醚或N-乙烯基-2-吡咯烷酮的1∶1共聚物。
通常合适的有含有活性碳-碳烯属双键和至少一个羧基的聚合的烯属(olefinically)或烯属(ethylenically)不饱和羧酸,也就是,含有烯属双键的酸,由于烯属双键在单体分子中或者相对于羧基在α-β位置或作为末端亚甲基的一部分,因此该烯属双键容易用于聚合。这种酸的实例为丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、乙基丙烯酸(ethacrylic)、α-氯代丙烯酸、巴豆酸、β-丙烯酰氧基(acryloxy)丙酸、山梨酸、α-氯代山梨酸、肉桂酸、β-苯乙烯基丙烯酸、粘康酸、衣康酸、柠康酸、中康酸、戊烯二酸、乌头酸、α-苯基丙烯酸、2-苄基丙烯酸、2-环己基丙烯酸、当归酸(angelic)、伞形酸、富马酸、马来酸及酸酐。可与这种羧基单体共聚的其他不同的烯属单体包括乙酸乙烯酯、氯乙烯、马来酸二甲酯等。共聚物含有足够的羧酸盐基团用于水溶性。
其他类的聚合物试剂包括含有取代的丙烯酰胺的均聚物和/或不饱和磺酸及其盐的均聚物的组合物,特别是当聚合物为基于选自丙烯基酰氨基烷烃磺酸(例如分子量为1,000-2,000,000的2-丙烯酰胺-2-甲基丙磺酸)的不饱和磺酸时,如在Zahid于1989年6月27日的美国专利号4,842,847中所描述的,该专利通过引用结合到本文中来。
另一类有用的聚合物试剂包括聚氨基酸,特别是含有一定比例的阴离子表面活性氨基酸(例如天冬氨酸(aspattic acid)、谷氨酸和磷酸丝氨酸)的那些,如在Sikes等人的美国专利号4,866,161中所公开的,该专利通过引用结合到本文中来。

水也可存在于本发明的口腔组合物中。用于制备商品口腔组合物的水应为去离子的并且不含有机杂质。水通常补充组合物的余量,并且占所述口腔组合物的约10%-50%、约20%-40%或约10%-15%重量。这种量的水包括加入的游离的水加上由其他材料(例如山梨糖醇或本发明的焦磷酸四钾组分)引入的水的量。
在制备口腔护理组合物时,有时需要加入一些增稠材料来提供所需的稠度。在某些实施方案中,增稠剂为羧基乙烯基聚合物、角叉菜胶、羟乙基纤维素和纤维素醚的水溶性盐如羧甲基纤维素钠和羧甲基羟乙基纤维素钠。还可掺入天然胶,例如卡拉牙胶、阿拉伯树胶和黄蓍胶。胶态硅酸铝镁或细分散的二氧化硅可用作增稠组合物的组分来进一步改善所述组合物的质地。可使用为所述组合物总重量的0.5%-5.0%重量的增稠剂。
在所述口腔组合物的某些实施方案中,还期望掺入润湿剂来防止组合物在暴露于空气时硬化。某些润湿剂还可赋予洁牙剂组合物期望的甜味或香味。基于纯润湿剂,在一个实施方案中,润湿剂通常占洁牙剂组合物的约15%-70%重量,或者,在另一实施方案中,占洁牙剂组合物的约30%-65%重量。
合适的润湿剂包括可食用多元醇,例如甘油、山梨糖醇、木糖醇、丙二醇以及其他多元醇和这些润湿剂的混合物。在某些实施方案中,甘油和山梨糖醇的混合物可用作本文的牙膏组合物的润湿剂组分。
