优选地,本发明提供了一种制造废气输送装置尤其是废气净化装置的方法,所述废气输送装置具有外壳,所述外壳具有夹持在其内的插入件,所述方法具有以下步骤:
a)提供具有适于向内移动顶靠所述外壳的节段状卡爪的工具;
b)在每个卡爪的内侧上远离其轴向端部之处设置凹部,其中所有卡爪的凹部相对于彼此定向成获得连续环绕的凹部;
c)将所述外壳和布置在所述外壳中的所述插入件放置到所述工具中;
d)通过闭合所述卡爪使所述外壳变形,从而使所述插入件夹持在所述外壳中;以及
e)当闭合所述卡爪时,在所述外壳上远离所述外壳端部之处形成环绕凸起。
本发明也提供了一种用于制造废气输送装置并且用于实施前述方法的工具,所述工具具有多个活动卡爪,在闭合状态下,所述活动卡爪的内面具有与所述外壳的将要获得的外轮廓对应的内轮廓,所述卡爪在其内面上远离其轴向端部之处具有至少一个凹部,所述凹部沿周向与相邻卡爪的凹部邻接,以形成连续环绕的凹部。
通过形成连续环绕凸起或连续环绕凹部,外壳在轴向方向上变得比没有凸起或凹部时短。可以说,“不必要的”材料容纳在凸起或凹部中。
在本发明中,不提供轧制过程等,该轧制过程将仅构成外壳的后期加工;相反,在夹持过程本身期间,即在收缩期间,形成凸起或凹部。
为了使外壳的稳定性增加,更特别地,形成凸起。考虑到稳定性,这种凸起比凹部更优选。这意味着材料在收缩过程期间将会屈服并且移动到卡爪的凹部中。
优选地,在外护套上设置彼此沿轴向间隔开的多个凸起(或凹部)。因此,这产生了环绕外护套以使其稳定并且提供其准确长度的一类环。
如在截面中看到的,更具体地,凸起/凹处具有弓形径向端部,这会使塑性变形更简单。
根据优选实施方式,将外壳构造为插入件插入其中的周向闭合管。作为替代性方案,一种片状金属带包装材料当然也将是可能的,该片状金属带包装材料绕着插入件放置,并且在节段闭合之后在边缘上焊接和闭合。
对于轴向长度的准确调整,根据优选实施方式如下规定:在卡爪向内移动之前在两个轴向止动件之间将外壳布置在工具中。因为外壳在再成形过程之后靠着止动件,所以止动件在再成形之后限定外壳的轴向长度。
用于制造废气输送装置的根据本发明的工具包括适当设计的卡爪,所述卡爪具有在圆周上彼此互补以形成连续环绕凹部或凸起的凸起和延伸部。
本发明的进一步的特征和优点从下面的描述中以及从所参照的附图中将是显而易见的。

具体实施方式
图1示出了成催化转化器或柴油颗粒过滤器形式的、根据本发明制造的废气输送装置。废气输送装置包括管状外壳10和插入件12,插入件12夹持在管中并且包括基体14(见图3)以及环绕基体14的支承垫16,基体14由陶瓷构成并且优选地被催化涂履。外壳10优选为由金属制成的原本闭合的管。
如可以在图1中看到的,外壳10设有与其轴向端部间隔开的多个周向连续环绕的环形凸起18,多个周向连续环绕的环形凸起18通过外壳10的变形而形成。
图2示出了工具,该工具用于使外壳10塑性变形并且使插入件12沿径向夹持在外壳10中。该工具是具有多个压力卡爪20的所谓的收缩工具,如在侧视图中看到的,多个压力卡爪20是节段状的,并且,多个压力卡爪20可以沿箭头方向向内闭合。在闭合状态下,压力卡爪的内面具有与外壳10的将要获得的外轮廓对应的内轮廓。在图4中示出这些卡爪20中的一个。像其它卡爪一样,该卡爪是长形的并且沿轴向方向延伸超出外壳10,即,该卡爪比外壳长。
如可以在图2至4中看到的,卡爪20在它们的内面上具有凹部22。
这些凹部22在圆周方向上是互补的。当工具处在闭合状态或已经向内移动时,卡爪20的凹处22在周向方向上接连至相邻卡爪20的相应凹处22以便形成周向闭合的、至少大部分闭合的凹槽。
图3示出凹部在它们的最深点处以弧形伸出,即,它们具有弓形径向底部或弓形径向端部。
另外,工具具有轴向止动件24(见图3),轴向止动件24可以任选地形成在卡爪20中,或者呈可能适于被进给的单独部件形式。
现在将在下面更详细地说明制造方法。
首先,将基体14和支承垫16作为一个单元推到外壳10中,随后将该单元引入到打开的工具中。插入件12相对于外壳10的正确取向必须提供在轴向方向上。
接着,将单元布置在止动件24之间;优选地,外壳10的轴向端部甚至靠着止动件24。但是,在这方面,也可以有利的是:预先沿轴向提供小的间隙,使得不管所安装的外壳10的轴向长度公差如何,相对于初始状态,在制造之后仍将总是获得相同的轴向长度。
还可以借助于止动件26附加地将基体14固定在其位置中。这些止动件26可以一致地移动到基体14以相对于工具使它沿轴向对齐。可以例如通过借助于共用主轴或剪刀型连杆机构来联接止动件26而获得该一致的运动。
接着,当卡爪20闭合时,即,在圆筒状外壳10的情况下,当卡爪20向内沿径向闭合时,外壳10塑性变形。由于塑性变形,外壳10将倾向于变得更长。然而,这样一来,其将撞到止动件24上,并且材料将移动到凹处22中以形成环绕凸起18。
对于凸起18,可替代地或附加地,外壳10当然还可以具有环绕凹部。但是,这因而将需要在卡爪20上设置凸起40,凸起40沿周向彼此互补。例如,图2示出了卡爪20上的这种凸起40,并且还示出了外壳10中的凹部30,在图2中以虚线示出处在塑性变形状态的外壳10。
变形和连续环绕凸起18给外壳10提供明显更好的稳定性。另外,因为所有外壳可以具有相同的轴向长度,所以收缩期间的轴向公差实际上减小到零;凭借止动件24的适当调整,外壳在变形之后将总是靠着它们。
Claims (14)
1.一种制造废气输送装置的方法,所述废气输送装置具有外壳(10),所述外壳(10)具有夹持在其内的插入件(12),其特征在于,所述方法具有以下步骤:
a)提供具有适于向内移动顶靠所述外壳(10)的节段状卡爪(20)的工具;
b)在每个卡爪(20)的内侧上远离其轴向端部之处设置凹部(22),其中所有卡爪(20)的凹部(22)相对于彼此定向成获得连续环绕的凹部;
c)将所述外壳(10)和布置在所述外壳(10)中的所述插入件(12)放置到所述工具中;
d)通过闭合所述卡爪(20)使所述外壳(10)变形,从而使所述插入件(12)夹持在所述外壳(10)中;以及
e)当闭合所述卡爪时,在所述外壳(10)上远离所述外壳(10)端部之处形成环绕凸起(18)。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,在所述外壳上形成彼此沿轴向间隔开的多个凸起(18)。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述凸起(18)的截面中具有弓形径向端部。
4.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述外壳(10)被构造为周向闭合管,所述插入件(12)插入到所述周向闭合管中。
5.根据权利要求3所述的方法,其特征在于,所述外壳(10)被构造为周向闭合管,所述插入件(12)插入到所述周向闭合管中。
6.根据前述权利要求1或2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述插入件(12)包括基体(14)和环绕所述基体的柔性支承垫(16)。
7.根据前述权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于,所述插入件(12)包括基体(14)和环绕所述基体的柔性支承垫(16)。
8.根据前述权利要求1或2所述的方法,其特征在于,在所述卡爪(20)向内移动之前,所述外壳(10)在两个轴向止动件(24)之间布置在所述工具中,并且,在再成形过程之后所述外壳(10)靠着所述止动件(24)。
9.根据前述权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,在所述卡爪(20)向内移动之前,所述外壳(10)在两个轴向止动件(24)之间布置在所述工具中,并且,在再成形过程之后所述外壳(10)靠着所述止动件(24)。
10.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述插入件(12)在两个轴向侧中的至少一侧上通过止动件(26)固定在其位置中。
11.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述插入件(12)在两个轴向侧中的至少一侧上通过止动件(26)固定在其位置中。
12.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述的废气输送装置是废气净化装置。
13.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其特征在于,所述的废气输送装置是废气净化装置。
14.一种用于制造废气输送装置并且用于实施根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的方法的工具,所述工具具有多个活动卡爪(20),在闭合状态下,所述活动卡爪(20)的内面具有与所述外壳(10)的将要获得的外轮廓对应的内轮廓,所述卡爪(20)在其内面上远离其轴向端部之处具有至少一个凹部(22),所述凹部(22)沿周向与相邻卡爪(20)的凹部(22)邻接,以形成连续环绕的凹部。
