CLAIMS 1. A method of individually packaging an absorbent article and attaching the absorbent article to an undergarment, the method comprising the steps of:

A tri-fold absorbent article is provided comprising a garment-facing surface having a garment attachment adhesive, a body-facing surface, a main body, and a pair of wings extending outward relative to the main body, wherein each Said garment-facing surfaces of the wings each have adhesive thereon for attaching said wings to an undergarment in use, and at least one removable pad disposed on said adhesive prior to use of said article. The method of claim 6, wherein said sheet material comprises a first end segment, a middle segment and a second end segment, and said first end segment of said sheet material is removed prior to opening said pouch. An end section extends over and corresponds to the position of the middle portion of the absorbent article, and the middle section of the sheet material extends over and corresponds to the second portion of the absorbent article. Said second end portion of said sheet material extends over and corresponds to said first end portion of said sanitary napkin.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the middle section of the sheet material extends over and overlaps the second end section of the sheet material.

9. The method according to claim 8, further comprising:

A tab is provided extending from the first end section and releasably connected to the second end section of the sheet material.

Side seams are provided on the pouch, the side seams being defined by a plurality of embossments to seal overlapping portions of the sheet material.

13. A method of individually packaging an absorbent article and attaching said absorbent article to an undergarment, said method comprising the steps of:

A pouch is provided for containing the tri-fold absorbent article, the pouch being composed of a sheet having a first end edge, a second end edge, and a line of weakness disposed between the first end edge and the second end edge material formation;
