Abstract
The invention discloses a method for upgrading a terminal through a wireless local area network (WIFI), and the method comprises the following steps: connecting a WIFI terminal with an upgrading server through the WIFI; and downloading contents which need to be upgraded into a cache, carrying out software upgrading after completing the download. The invention further discloses a system for upgrading the terminal through the WIFI, and the adoption of the method and the system can get rid of the dependence on a data download line of a universal serial bus (USB) during the process of upgrading the WIFI terminal, realize automatic upgrading and simultaneously carry out rapid batch upgrading.
Description
Technical Field

Background

According to the method and the system for upgrading the terminal through the WIFI, the WIFI terminal is connected with the upgrading server through the WIFI; the method has the advantages that the content needing to be upgraded is downloaded into the cache, software upgrading is carried out after downloading is completed, the speed of upgrading the WIFI terminal can be increased by means of the high speed and the easy connectivity of WIFI, the dependence of terminal upgrading on a USB data download line is eliminated, a user can upgrade the WIFI terminal anytime and anywhere, convenience of the user is greatly improved, the terminals can be upgraded in batches, and the income of terminal manufacturers is effectively increased. Furthermore, the upgraded content is not limited to system software, but also comprises other application software or audio-video files, so that the WIFI terminal has more auxiliary functions, and the importance of commercial or household WIFI can be improved.
