Abstract

本发明提供一种电子纸装置,包括公共电极层、电泳层以及若干像素电极,该电泳层位于公共电极层以及若干像素电极之间,该公共电极层位于电子纸装置观看面一侧,该电泳层包括若干微腔。其中,该电泳层中的每三个微腔构成一个像素单元,对应显示图像的一个像素点,其中构成一个像素单元的三个微腔中分别包括RGB粒子中的一种,同时该三个微腔中还分别包括YMC粒子中的一种。本发明的电子纸装置的微腔中即包括RGB带电粒子又包括YMC带电粒子,能够根据需要选择混色的方式。

电子纸装置
技术领域
本发明涉及一种电子纸装置,尤其涉及一种电泳显示型的电子纸。
背景技术
电子纸由于其与普通的纸张十分接近、即具有高对比、广视角度、低能耗以及阅读的高舒适性等性能,已经逐渐成为一种应用较广的显示装置。
随着电子纸技术的进步,以往只能显示黑白的电子纸已经逐渐能够实现彩色显示。目前电子纸彩色显示的混色有基于光学三原色RGB(Red Green Blue)的混色,以及基于油墨三原色YMC(YellowMagenta Cyan)的混色。然而,RGB混色和YMC混色都不能组合出肉眼所能识别的所有颜色,它们所涵盖的色域也有所差异,一般而言,对于视频画面来说,采用RGB混色效果更佳,而对于静止图像而言,采用YMC混色效果更佳。目前的电子纸装置,要么是采用RGB方式进行混色,要么是采用YMC方式进行混色,不能根据所输出的显示内容更换混色方式。
因此,有必要提出一种电子纸,以解决以上的问题。
发明内容
本发明提供一种新型的电子纸装置,该微腔中同时包括RGB粒子以及YMC粒子,可根据需要选择混色的方式。
一种电子纸装置,包括公共电极层、电泳层以及若干像素电极,该电泳层位于公共电极层以及若干像素电极之间,该公共电极层位于电子纸装置观看面一侧,该电泳层包括若干微腔。其中,该电泳层中的每三个微腔构成一个像素单元,对应显示图像的一个像素点,其中构成一个像素单元的三个微腔中分别包括RGB粒子中的一种,同时该三个微腔中还分别包括YMC粒子中的一种。
本发明的电子纸装置的微腔中即包括RGB带电粒子又包括YMC带电粒子,能够根据需要选择混色的方式。

具体实施方式
请参阅图1,电子纸装置1包括公共电极层10、电泳层20、若干像素电极30。该电泳层20位于公共电极层10以及该若干像素电极30之间并分别与之电连接。其中,该公共电极层10位于电子纸装置1观看面一侧。
电泳层20包括若干微腔201,每一微腔201中均包括悬浮液202、带电有色粒子203、204。每一像素电极30对应一个微腔201。
请一并参阅图2,为电泳层20的俯视图。该电泳层20的若干微腔201以矩阵方式排列,其中每三个微腔201构成一个像素单元205,对应显示图像的一个像素点。其中,构成一个像素单元205的三个微腔201中的每一个微腔201中的有色带电粒子203、204均分别为RGB粒子(红色(R)粒子、绿色(G)粒子、蓝色(B)粒子)以及YMC粒子(黄色(Y)粒子、洋红色(M)粒子、青色(C)粒子)中的一种,即构成一个像素单元205的三个微腔201中既分别包括RGB粒子中的一种,同时还分别包括YMC粒子中的一种。为了更便于说明本发明,设构成一个像素单元205的三个微腔201分别为201a、201b、201c。如图2所示,微腔201a包括的带电有色粒子203、204分别为RGB粒子中的红色(R)粒子和YMC中的黄色(Y)粒子,微腔201b包括的带电有色粒子203、204分别为RGB中的绿色(G)粒子和YMC中的洋红色(M)粒子,微腔201c包括的带电有色粒子203、204分别为RGB中的蓝色(B)粒子和YMC中的青色(C)粒子。从而构成一个像素单元205的三个微腔201中既分别包括RGB三种颜色的粒子,也包括YMC三种颜色的粒子。
在本实施方式中,位于三个微腔201中的RGB三种带电粒子带第一种电荷,例如正电,YMC三种粒子带第二种电荷,例如负电。当需要采用RGB混色方式时,例如显示信号为视频信号时,通过对公共电极层10与像素电极30之间施加第一电压,例如负电压,从而驱动RGB粒子向靠近公共电极层10的方向移动。由于每一像素电极30对应一微腔201,通过对像素电极30施加不同大小的第一电压,则根据电势差大小的不同,可以控制移动至公共电极层10附近的红色(R)、绿色(G)和蓝色(B)的有色粒子203的数量,而移动至公共电极层10附近有色粒子203数量不同,该颜色的深浅也不一样,混出的颜色也不一样。
当需要采用YMC混色方式时,例如显示信号为静止图像信号时,通过对公共电极层10与像素电极30之间施加第二电压,例如正电压,从而驱动YMC粒子向靠近公共电极层10的方向移动,而驱动RGB粒子向像素电极30一侧运动。同样,根据电势差大小的不同,可以控制移动至公共电极层10附近的黄色(Y)、洋红色(M)和青色(C)的有色粒子204的数量,而移动至公共电极层10附近有色粒子204数量不同,该颜色的深浅也不一样,混出的颜色也不一样。
在本实施方式中,悬浮液202为黑色,当施加的电压不足以驱动RGB粒子或YMC粒子移动到靠近公共电极层10一侧时,例如施加正电压使得RGB粒子远离公共电极层10移动,YMC粒子靠近公共电极层10移动,若该正电压不足够大,则会使得RGB粒子离开公共电极层10而此时YMC粒子又未靠近该公共电极层10,此时,该微腔201显示悬浮液202的颜色,即黑色。当构成一个像素单元205的三个有一个显示黑色时,像素单元205由另外两个微腔201中移动到靠近公共电极层10的RGB粒子或YMC粒子进行混色;当有两个显示黑色时,像素单元205显示一个微腔201中移动到靠近公共电极层10的RGB粒子或YMC粒子的颜色;当三个都显示黑色时,像素单元205显示黑色。例如,如果一个像素单元205中微腔201a、201b显示黑色,201c显示蓝色或青色,则整个像素单元205显示蓝色或青色,如果一个像素单元205中仅有微腔201a显示黑色,201b显示绿色或洋红色,201c显示蓝色或青色,则整个像素单元205显示的颜色为绿色和蓝色的混色或洋红色和青色的混色,显然,如果三个微腔201全部显示黑色,则像素单元205显示黑色。
在本发明中,构成一个像素单元205的三个微腔201a、201b、201c中包括的带电有色粒子203、204可为RGB粒子以及YMC粒子中的任意排列组合,即微腔201a包括RGB粒子中的任意一个,并包括YMC粒子中的任意一个,微腔201b包括RGB粒子中另外两个中的任意一个,并包括YMC粒子中另外两个中的任意一个。例如,微腔201a可包括绿色(G)粒子以及青色(C)粒子,微腔201b包括红色(R)粒子以及洋红色(M)粒子,微腔201c包括蓝色(B)粒子以及黄色(Y)粒子等。
该电子纸装置1还包括保护层40以及基板50,该保护层40用于保护该电子纸装置1,该基板50用于承载该保护层40、公共电极层10、电泳层20以及若干像素电极30。
在本发明中,该微腔201可为微胶囊(microcapsule)或微杯(microcup)。
在本发明其他实施方式中,RGB粒子中的部分粒子与YMC粒子中的部分粒子所带电荷相同,从而可将RGB粒子与YMC粒子进行混色,例如由R粒子、B粒子以及Y粒子进行混色,而并不限于仅仅通过RGB方式进行混色或通过YMC方式进行混色。

Claims (5)

1.一种电子纸装置,包括公共电极层、电泳层以及若干像素电极,该电泳层位于公共电极层以及若干像素电极之间,该公共电极层位于电子纸装置观看面一侧,该电泳层包括若干微腔,其特征在于:
该电泳层中的每三个微腔构成一个像素单元,对应显示图像的一个像素点,其中构成一个像素单元的三个微腔中分别包括RGB粒子中的一种,同时该三个微腔中还分别包括YMC粒子中的一种,构成一个像素单元中的三个微腔中的RGB粒子均带第一种电荷,YMC粒子均带第二种电荷;
其中,当对该公共电极层以及像素电极施加第一电压时,驱动该三个微腔中的RGB粒子向靠近公共电极层的一侧移动,该像素单元显示由RGB粒子混色所显示出来的颜色;当对该公共电极层以及像素电极施加第二电压时,驱动该三个微腔中的YMC粒子向靠近公共电极层的一侧移动,该像素单元显示由YMC粒子混色所显示出来的颜色;
其中,该微腔中还包括悬浮液,悬浮液带黑色,当对该公共电极层以及像素电极施加的电压不足以使得对应微腔中的RGB粒子或YMC粒子移动到靠近公共电极层的一侧时,该微腔显示黑色;当构成一个像素单元的三个有一个显示黑色时,像素单元由另外两个微腔中移动到靠近公共电极层的RGB粒子进行混色;当有两个显示黑色时,像素单元显示一个微腔中移动到靠近公共电极层的RGB粒子的颜色;当三个都显示黑色时,像素单元显示黑色。
2.如权利要求1所述的电子纸装置,其特征在于,每一微腔对应一像素电极设置,通过对公共电极层以及不同的像素电极施加的第一电压的大小的不同,驱动微腔中的RGB粒子向靠近公共电极层的一侧移动的数量不同,RGB粒子混色所显示出来的颜色也不同。
3.如权利要求1所述的电子纸装置,其特征在于,每一微腔对应一像素电极设置,通过对公共电极层以及不同的像素电极施加的第二电压的大小的不同,驱动微腔中的YMC粒子向靠近公共电极层的一侧移动的数量不同,YMC粒子混色所显示出来的颜色也不同。
4.如权利要求1所述的电子纸装置,其特征在于,该RGB粒子分别为红色粒子、绿色粒子以及蓝色粒子,该YMC粒子分别为黄色粒子、洋红色粒子以及青色粒子。
5.如权利要求1所述的电子纸装置,其特征在于,该微腔为微胶囊和微杯中的一种。
