Abstract

背景技术
在润滑剂在发动机内循环的同时希望将添加剂添加到发动机润滑剂,以便向润滑剂补充随时间消耗的添加剂,同时避免从发动机排出润滑剂并进行更换的需要。
US6843916涉及一种将会缓慢地释放到正被过滤的油中的发动机润滑剂添加凝胶,并且还涉及通过使油与润滑剂添加凝胶形式的润滑剂添加剂相接触而将一种或多种润滑剂添加剂缓慢地供应到油中。
然而,这种在润滑剂在发动机中循环的同时将添加剂添加到发动机润滑剂的设备和方法受到一个或多个缺点的影响。首先,这样的设备和方法随时间连续地释放添加剂,而不是仅当润滑剂内的添加剂被消耗时(例如需要补充时)释放添加剂。这可能导致润滑剂使用寿命的减少。这也可能增加发动机内的潜在沉积并且增加对排气系统催化剂的污染。此外,使用凝胶型技术的系统可能与某些抗磨损添加剂(例如ZDDP)不相容。

发动机润滑剂过滤器中的旁通阀是公知的,其在通过过滤器的润滑剂的压力超过预定值时打开。
发明内容
根据本发明的第一方面,提供一种在润滑剂在发动机中循环的同时将一种或多种添加剂添加到发动机润滑剂的设备,其中该发动机包括具有旁通阀的发动机润滑剂过滤器,在使用中当通过过滤器的润滑剂的压力超过预定背压值时该旁通阀打开,所述设备的特征在于其进一步包括包含一种或多种添加剂的添加剂室,该添加剂室可操作地连接到所述旁通阀,从而当所述旁通阀在预定背压下打开时,使得至少一些润滑剂在通过所述发动机再循环之前流经所述添加剂室并且接触所述一种或多种添加剂。
根据本发明的第二方面,提供一种当润滑剂在发动机内循环的同时将一种或多种添加剂添加到发动机润滑剂的方法,该方法包括:
a)为发动机提供润滑系统,润滑系统包括具有旁通阀的过滤器,当通过所述过滤器的润滑剂的压力超过预定背压值时所述旁通阀打开;
b)为润滑系统提供添加剂室,该添加剂室包含一种或多种添加剂且可操作地连接到所述旁通阀;
c)通过在发动机内循环润滑剂来润滑发动机;以及
d)当所述旁通阀在所述预定背压值下打开且在润滑剂通过发动机再循环之前,使至少一些润滑剂通过添加剂室以接触所述一种或多种添加剂。
本发明通过以下方式解决了以上所限定的技术问题:仅当过滤器中的润滑剂的预定背压导致旁通阀打开时,使润滑剂与添加剂室内的一种或多种添加剂相接触。当润滑剂变粘时可能会遇到这种预定背压值,所述润滑剂变粘例如由于随时间产生的氧化和/或煤烟/淤积物的存在而引起。当遇到这种预定背压值时,旁通阀打开并且至少一些润滑剂进入添加剂室与所述一种或多种添加剂接触,这样所述一种或多种添加剂就被添加到所述润滑剂。在冷启动期间和/或在其他驱动情况下,可能会附加地或者替代地遇到预定背压。
本发明的预定背压可以在6至18psi(0.4至1.24bar)的范围内。优选地,预定背压是6至10psi(0.4至0.7bar)。预定背压可能低于常规用于润滑剂过滤器旁通阀的背压。这些常规背压通常在8至18psi(0.55至1.24bar)的范围内。不同的预定背压可以用于不同类型的发动机。
优选地,在本发明中,发动机是内燃机。优选地,在本发明中,发动机是火花点火内燃机或压缩点火内燃机。
优选地,旁通阀是簧载型阀。
当润滑剂接触添加剂室内的一种或多种添加剂时,添加剂溶解到润滑剂中。
添加剂室可以是具有一个或多个孔的容器。具体地,该容器可以是有孔的鼓体或有网眼的袋体。孔的尺寸和分布可以确定一种或多种添加剂溶解到润滑剂中的速率。或者,添加剂室可以是油溶性袋体。
在本发明的方法中,所述一种或多种添加剂可随着时间缓慢溶解到润滑剂中。或者,全部或大部分所述一种或多种添加剂可以立刻溶解到润滑剂中。
在添加剂室内的一种或多种添加剂可以独立地是固体添加剂、液体添加剂或凝胶添加剂,优选地,所述一种或多种添加剂是液体添加剂或凝胶添加剂。
当所述一种或多种添加剂是液体添加剂时,所述添加剂可以迅速地溶解在润滑剂中,从而消散润滑剂中的煤烟和/或淤积物并且/或者清洁过滤器。
添加剂室可以包含任意类型的发动机润滑剂添加剂。优选地,所述一种或多种添加剂选自抗磨损添加剂、抗氧化添加剂、去垢添加剂、分散添加剂、冷启动添加剂及上述添加剂的混合物。优选地,所述一种或多种添加剂选自分散添加剂、去垢添加剂、抗氧化添加剂及上述添加剂的混合物。优选地,当规定旁通阀由于在冷启动期间遇到的预定背压而打开时,添加剂室可以包含冷启动添加剂。添加剂室内的一种或多种添加剂可以溶解在溶剂内,例如溶解在酯载体中。
在本发明的方法中,可以根据需要补充或更换添加剂室内的添加剂。

具体实施方式
参考图1、2和3中的设备,该设备包括具有旁通阀(2)的环形发动机润滑剂过滤器(1),该过滤器可操作地连接到弹簧(3)以关闭旁通阀。该设备还包括环形添加剂室(4),该环形添加剂室是包含一种或多种添加剂(5)的有网眼的袋体。发动机(9)在图2和3中示意性示出。
在使用中,当旁通阀(2)关闭时,润滑剂(8)以图2所示的润滑剂流动方向(6)从发动机(9)流出,通过过滤器(1)并且返回到发动机(9)。
当通过过滤器(1)的润滑剂(8)的背压超过预定背压值时,作用于弹簧(3)的旁通阀(2)打开以使得至少一些润滑剂(8)在再循环到发动机(9)之前流经添加剂室(4)并接触一种或多种添加剂(5)。在旁通阀打开的状态下润滑剂流入和流出发动机(9)的方向(7)在图3中示出。当润滑剂(8)接触添加剂室(4)内的一种或多种添加剂(5)时,添加剂溶解在润滑剂中。这可以补充和/或提高润滑剂的添加剂含量。这随之可以清洁过滤器。
Claims (15)
1.一种当润滑剂在发动机内循环的同时将一种或多种添加剂添加到发动机润滑剂的设备,其中所述发动机包括具有旁通阀的发动机润滑剂过滤器,在使用时当通过所述过滤器的润滑剂的压力超过预定背压值时,所述旁通阀打开,所述设备的特征在于:所述设备进一步包括包含一种或多种添加剂的添加剂室,所述添加剂室可操作地连接到所述旁通阀,从而当所述旁通阀在所述预定背压下打开时,使得至少一些所述润滑剂在通过所述发动机再循环之前流经所述添加剂室并且接触所述一种或多种添加剂。
2.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述预定背压值在6至18psi的范围内。
3.如权利要求2所述的设备,其中所述预定背压值在6至10psi的范围内。
4.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述旁通阀是簧载型阀。

8.如权利要求1至6中任意一项权利要求所述的设备,其中所述添加剂室包含一种或多种添加剂,所述添加剂选自抗磨损添加剂、抗氧化添加剂、去垢添加剂、分散添加剂、冷启动添加剂及上述添加剂的混合物。
9.如权利要求7所述的设备,其中所述添加剂选自抗磨损添加剂、抗氧化添加剂、去垢添加剂、分散添加剂、冷启动添加剂及上述添加剂的混合物。
10.一种当润滑剂在发动机内循环的同时将一种或多种添加剂添加到发动机润滑剂的方法,所述方法包括:
a)为所述发动机提供润滑系统,所述润滑系统包括具有旁通阀的过滤器,当通过所述过滤器的润滑剂的压力超过预定背压值时,所述旁通阀打开;
b)为所述润滑系统提供添加剂室,所述添加剂室包含一种或多种 添加剂且可操作地连接到所述旁通阀;
c)通过在所述发动机内循环所述润滑剂来润滑所述发动机;以及
d)当所述旁通阀在所述预定背压值下打开且在所述润滑剂通过所述发动机再循环之前,使至少一些所述润滑剂通过所述添加剂室以接触所述一种或多种添加剂。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中当所述预定背压值在6至18psi的范围内时,所述旁通阀打开。
12.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中当所述预定背压值在6至10psi的范围内时,所述旁通阀打开。
13.如权利要求10至12中任意一项权利要求所述的方法,其中所述润滑剂接触所述一种或多种添加剂,所述添加剂是液体添加剂或凝胶添加剂。
14.如权利要求10至12中任意一项权利要求所述的方法,其中所述润滑剂接触所述一种或多种添加剂,所述添加剂选自抗磨损添加剂、抗氧化添加剂、去垢添加剂、分散添加剂、冷启动添加剂及上述添加剂的混合物。
15.如权利要求13所述的方法,其中所述添加剂选自抗磨损添加剂、抗氧化添加剂、去垢添加剂、分散添加剂、冷启动添加剂及上述添加剂的混合物。
