Description

Automatic transaction device
This application is based on and claims priority from Japanese patent application No.2007-224896, filed on 30.8.2007, the entire disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference.
Technical Field
Exemplary aspects of the present invention relate to an automated transaction device (e.g., an automated teller machine), particularly one installed at a retail store.
Background
Automated transaction devices (e.g., automated teller machines (hereinafter, ATMs), self-service terminals (hereinafter, SSTs), etc.) installed at retail stores handle various services. Since the bank being affiliated and the services available are different for each machine, it is necessary to promote the use of the machines to indicate on each ATM announcement information or the like relating to the contents of the services available.
As for an automatic transaction apparatus capable of displaying various information on its screen, japanese patent application No. 2004-. Even if the ATM disclosed in patent document 1 displays announcement information for processing each ATM instead of advertisements, only the user can be notified of the announcement information. On the other hand, if the notice information is displayed on the advertisement display device, the ATM disclosed in patent document 2 notifies the customer of the shop of the notice information in addition to the user of the ATM.
However, the ATM disclosed in patent document 2 includes an advertisement display device on the front side surface of the ATM, and thus can provide information only to a person in front of the ATM. ATMs installed in retail stores (e.g., convenience stores, etc.) are likely to be placed next to windows, such that most of those ATMs are placed toward the inside of the retail store and the back side of the ATM is placed toward the window. When the ATM disclosed in patent document 2 is installed in a shop in this way, information can be provided to the persons inside the shop to some extent, and when the persons outside the shop look at the ATM installed in the shop through a window, they can only view the rear side of the ATM. Therefore, there is an inconvenience in that only the customer in the shop can be provided with the information.
In the case of such an automatic transaction apparatus, the user cannot know the operation state of the automatic transaction apparatus and available services until he/she enters the store. Therefore, only after the user enters the store and comes in front of the ATM, the user knows that the ATM is not handling his/her desired service or that the ATM is not operating due to system maintenance, which is inconvenient for the user.
Disclosure of Invention
An exemplary object of the present invention is to provide a method capable of providing notice information (e.g., an operation state of a device, available services of the device, etc.) related to a process of the device to people around the device other than a person in front of the device.
In order to achieve the above exemplary object, an automatic transaction apparatus according to an exemplary aspect of the present invention includes a user-side display part for displaying a guide image related to a transaction, wherein a display surface of the user-side display part is disposed on a front side surface of the apparatus, the apparatus further including: a notice display portion for noticing a state of the device, different from the user-side display portion, wherein a display surface of the notice display portion is disposed on a surface different from a front-side surface of the device.
The automatic transaction device further comprises: an acceptance state determination section for determining a state of the apparatus from among three states (i.e., a transaction execution state in which the transaction is being executed, a waiting state in which the apparatus is waiting, and a closed state in which the apparatus is closed) on the basis of instruction information relating to the transaction input into an input section installed in advance on the automatic transaction apparatus; the display controller causes the notice display section to display the acceptance state with respect to the transaction according to the determination of the acceptance state determination section.
Further, a notice information display method according to another exemplary aspect of the present invention is a notice image display method for displaying an image of a notice unrelated to a transaction on a display portion of an automatic transaction apparatus with which a user performs a transaction according to a guidance indicated by a guidance image displayed on a user-side display portion, the method including the steps of: determining an acceptance state of the transaction from among three states (the three states are a transaction execution state, a waiting state, and a closing state) according to instruction information input to the input section; reading out notice image data corresponding to the acceptance state of the transaction from the data storage section according to the determination result; and displays the read bulletin image data as a bulletin image on a bulletin display portion different from the user side display portion.
Further, an announcement information display program in an automatic transaction apparatus according to still another exemplary aspect of the invention, the automatic transaction apparatus including: an input section into which information is input from outside; a user side display section for displaying a guide image relating to the transaction based on the information from the input section; a notice display portion, provided on a surface different from the front side surface of the apparatus, for displaying notice information, different from the user side display portion; a data storage section for storing image data to be displayed on each display section; the program causes a computer to execute the functions of: determining the acceptance state of the transaction from three states according to instruction information from an input part, wherein the three states are a transaction execution state, a waiting state and a closing state; and reads out notice image data indicating an acceptance state of the transaction from the data storage section in accordance with the above determination result to cause the notice display section to display the read-out notice image data as a notice image.

Detailed Description
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing an appearance of an automatic teller machine (hereinafter, ATM) as one exemplary embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 1A is a front perspective view of ATM1, and FIG. 1B is a rear perspective view of ATM 1.
As shown in fig. 1, the ATM1 includes: a user-side liquid crystal display (hereinafter, referred to as LCD)101 as a user-side display section for displaying a guide image relating to a transaction; a touch sensor panel 104 provided on the user-side LCD 101; a card slot 111 into/from which a cash card is inserted/ejected; a passbook slot 112 into/from which a passbook is inserted/ejected; and a cash slot 113 at the front side of the machine for delivering and receiving cash.
In the ATM1 according to the exemplary embodiment, the touch sensor panel 104 is provided on the surface of the display screen of the user-side LCD 101. While viewing the display of the user-side LCD 101, the user touches and operates the touch sensor panel 104 on the surface of the display screen of the user-side LCD 101, and inputs content for selecting a transaction or necessary information for performing a transaction.
The ATM1 further includes bulletin LCDs 102 and 103 as bulletin display portions provided differently from the user-side LCD 101. When the setting portion of the LCD in the ATM1 is defined as the display position of the LCD, the bulletin LCDs 102 and 103 are installed so as to display bulletin information at a position higher than the user-side LCD 101. Here, "the notice information is displayed at a position higher than the user-side LCD 101" means that the lower edges of the notice LCDs 102 and 103 are placed higher than the upper edge of the user-side LCD 101.
When the display screen of the LCD is defined as a display surface, the display surface of the bulletin LCD 102 is disposed in front of the apparatus, and the bulletin LCD 103 is disposed on the rear side of the apparatus. As described, by arranging an LCD different from the user-side LCD 101, information can also be provided to a third party as well as the user. Further, as shown in fig. 1, the bulletin LCDs 102 and 103 are placed at a high position (i.e., at the upper part of the device), and therefore, it is possible to make the contents displayed on the bulletin LCDs 102 and 103 recognized by the person behind the furniture or the device and the person far from the device in the shop, and to provide information to the persons around the ATM almost uniformly. By disposing the display surface of the bulletin LCD 103 on the rear side of the apparatus different from the front side of the apparatus, information can be bulletin to the rear side of the apparatus and a person in front of the apparatus.
Fig. 2 is a functional block diagram showing the configuration of the ATM1 shown in fig. 1.
As shown in fig. 2, the ATM1 includes: a user-side LCD 101 for displaying a guide image for guiding the processing of the transaction; a touch sensor panel 104 provided on a surface of a display screen of the user-side LCD 101; bulletin LCDs 102 and 103 for displaying bulletin information; a transaction medium processing section 105 for reading customer information from a transaction medium on a bankbook or cash card; a cash processing part 106 for depositing and withdrawing money through the cash slot 113 according to a transaction process, and additionally for distinguishing each kind of coins and bills deposited or withdrawn and counting the number of money; a cash storage portion 107 for storing cash that has been deposited or is to be withdrawn; a communication section for connecting the ATM1 to a host device 5 within an online system (e.g., financial institution, etc.) of a customer through a network 6; a data storage section 109 for accommodating guide image data to be displayed on the user-side LCD 101 and accommodating bulletin image data to be displayed on the bulletin LCD 102 or 103; and a main controller 110 for controlling operations of the above components.
As an input section through which information is input from the outside, the ATM1 includes: a touch sensor panel 104 through which information is input according to an operation by a user; and a communication section 108 for connecting the ATM1 to the host device 5 in the customer online system. When the user touches and operates the touch sensor panel 104, or when the communication portion 108 receives a notification from the host device 5, information is input from the outside.
The main controller 110 includes a display control section 110a for controlling switching of an image on the screen of the user-side LCD 101 according to instruction information related to a transaction input from the touch sensor panel 104 or from the communication section 108. For example, the instruction information related to the transaction means information necessary for the transaction, such as information related to an instruction to start the transaction, selection of the transaction, transaction amount, confirmation or cancellation of execution of the transaction, and the like. For example, the indication information related to the transaction also means information on an operation state of the transaction (e.g., closing the transaction, etc.).
The main controller 110 further includes an acceptance state determination section 110b for determining an acceptance state of the transaction according to instruction information from the outside. The acceptance state determination section 110b has a function of determining an acceptance state of a transaction from among an execution state, a waiting state, and a closing state. For example, in the case where the user touches and operates the touch sensor panel 104 and inputs instruction information to start a transaction, the accepted state determination section 110b determines the state as the execution state. In the case where the user inputs instruction information to confirm or cancel the execution of the transaction, the accepted state determination section 110b determines the state as the waiting state. In the case where a notification indicating that the transaction operation is to be closed for a certain period of time is received from the host device 5, the accepted-state determination portion 110b determines the state as the closed state during the period of time indicated by the notification.
The display controller 110a mounted on the main controller 110 has the following functions: in accordance with the determination result of the acceptance state determining section 110b, the notice image data is read from the data storage section 109 to notify the acceptance state of the transaction to the people around the ATM1, and the notice LCD 102 or the notice LCD 103 is caused to display the data as a notice image. For example, when the status is determined to be the execution status, the display controller 110a causes the notice LCD 102 or the notice LCD 103 to display an image (fig. 3A) to notify that the ATM1 is in use. When the state is determined to be the off state, the display controller 110a selects the notice image data from the data storage portion 109 according to the notification from the host apparatus 5 and causes the notice LCD 102 or the notice LCD 103 to display an image (fig. 3B) to notify that the ATM1 is being turned off.
The data storage section 109 stores bulletin image data corresponding to each transaction acceptance state (for example, execution state, waiting state, and closing state), respectively. For example, when the bulletin image data corresponds to the transaction execution state, the data storage section 109 stores data for displaying an image like that of fig. 3A. When the notice image data corresponds to the closed state, the data storage section 109 stores data for displaying an image like that of fig. 3B. When the bulletin image data corresponds to the waiting state, the data storage section 109 stores data for displaying bulletin information relating to services (e.g., an associated bank list, available services, etc.) of the ATM 1. By causing the bulletin LCD 102 or 103 to display bulletin information on the associated bank list and available services, the user can know whether the ATM1 handles his/her desired service even if the user does not come close to the ATM 1.
In the above case, as for the display controller 110a and the reception state determining part 110b included in the main controller 110, these functions may be programmed and executed by a computer.
Since the ATM1 according to the exemplary embodiment can inform the transaction acceptance status of people around the ATM1 by using the bulletin LCD 102 or 103. Therefore, even if the user does not come close to the ATM1, he/she can know whether the ATM1 is available to him/her. Further, since information is displayed on the screen for notification, detailed information (for example, closing time period) can be announced to people around the ATM1, as shown in fig. 3B. In addition, information can be displayed by moving images to be announced.
Next, the operation of the ATM1 will be described by using an example of performing the deposit process. Fig. 4 is a flowchart showing the deposit process in the ATM 1.
When the user touches a portion corresponding to the transaction start key displayed on the display screen of the user-side LCD 101, instruction information for starting a transaction is input (step S1 in fig. 4). The acceptance state determination section 110b of the main controller 110 determines that the transaction is being executed, and the display controller 110a of the main controller 110 reads the notice image data indicating that the ATM1 is in use from the storage section 107, and instructs the notice LCD 102 or 103 to display a notice image to notice that the ATM1 is in use (step S2 in fig. 4). Then, the bulletin LCD 102 or 103 displays an image such as the image shown in fig. 3A (step S3 in fig. 4).
Sequentially, the transaction medium processing section 105 extracts the bank card from the card slot 111 and reads the identification information recorded on the card (step S4 in fig. 4). The cash processing section 106 withdraws cash from the cash slot 113 and counts the deposit amount (step S5 in fig. 4). The communication section 108 transmits the identification information and the deposit amount to the host apparatus 5 (step S6 in fig. 4).
When the communication section 108 receives a response indicating that the transaction is possible from the host apparatus 5, the display controller 110a of the main controller 110 causes the user-side LCD 101 to display an image that requires confirmation of the deposit transaction (step S7 in fig. 4). When the user operates the confirmation key, instruction information indicating that the execution of the transaction is confirmed is input, and a deposit process execution command is sent to the host apparatus 5 (step S9 in fig. 4). When the user operates the cancel key, instruction information indicating that the execution of the transaction is canceled is input, and then a cancel command is sent to the host apparatus 5, cash is ejected from the cash slot 113 and returned (step S13 in fig. 4).
Next, the transaction medium processing section 105 ejects the cash card from the card slot 111 (step S10 in fig. 4). Then, the acceptance state determination portion 110b of the main controller 110 determines the acceptance state as the waiting state (step S11 in fig. 4). The display controller 110a of the main controller 110 reads the notice image data to be displayed when the state is the waiting state from the storage section 107 and outputs the notice image data to the notice LCD 102 or 103 so as to switch the displayed image. Then, the bulletin LCD 102 or 103 switches the display image showing that the ATM is in use to another image (step S12 in fig. 4).
As described, the acceptance state determination section 110b of the main controller 110 determines the acceptance state of the transaction according to the user's operation so that the LCD 102 or 103 can be displayed regardless of whether the announcement is available to the ATM 1.
Fig. 5 is a plan view showing a state where the ATM1 in fig. 1 is placed in the shop a. "a" in fig. 5 shows a user operating the ATM1 toward the front surface of the ATM 1.
As shown in fig. 5, when the ATM1 according to the exemplary embodiment is placed beside a window of a shop a (e.g., a convenience store, etc.) with the front side of the device facing inside the shop and the rear side of the device facing the window, an area from which display on the bulletin LCD 102 is recognizable is defined as an information providing area j, and an area from which display on the bulletin LCD 103 is recognizable is defined as an information providing area k. When the ATM1 is placed as above, information can be provided to a person in the information providing area j of the shop a, and in addition, information can be provided to a person in the information providing area k outside the shop a.
As shown in fig. 5, the ATM1 according to the exemplary embodiment is generally placed beside a window with the operation surface of the front side of the device facing into the shop to prevent crime. In this case, information can be provided to the outside of the shop a by using the bulletin LCD 103. Therefore, even if the user does not enter the shop a in which the ATM1 is installed, he/she can recognize whether the ATM1 is available and what services are available. Further, the customer driving can see the transaction acceptance state in the ATM without getting off the vehicle. Thus, information can be provided to a person outside the shop a (including a driver who parks his/her car, a passerby, and the like in a parking area near the shop a).
In this case, the display controller 110a of the main controller 110 may cause the notice LCD 102 or 103 to display advertisement information, season information, etc. about products sold in the shop, in addition to notice information about the processing of the ATM 1. Advertising information is provided to a person outside the shop through a window by the bulletin LCD 103, and thus useful information can be provided to a driver who parks his/her car in a parking space in front of the retail shop, which is effective for increasing customers in the shop.
Further, the bulletin LCD may be separately disposed, for example, the bulletin LCD 102 is disposed inside the store and the bulletin LCD 103 is disposed outside the store, and the main controller 110 may cause the bulletin LCD 102 or 103 to display different bulletin images to the inside and outside of the store. For example, when a transaction is performed, an announcement may be displayed for the inside that the ATM is in use, while an advertisement may be displayed for the outside.
The ATM1 according to the exemplary embodiment includes a bulletin LCD 102 at the front side of the device and a bulletin LCD 103 at the rear side of the device. However, for people in front of the device, information may be provided using user-side LCD 101. Therefore, the ATM 2 of another exemplary embodiment, as shown in fig. 6, may be a configuration in which only the bulletin LCD 201 is provided as a bulletin display portion, wherein the display surface of the bulletin LCD 201 is provided on a surface of the apparatus other than the front side surface. Further, as long as the notice LCD 201 has its display surface on a surface of the apparatus other than the front side surface, the display surface of the notice LCD may be provided on any surface (e.g., a rear side surface, a side surface, etc.). That is, for example, a plurality of bulletin LCDs may be provided in three surfaces (i.e., a rear side and two side surfaces) or four surfaces (i.e., a rear side, two side surfaces, and a front side surface) so as to display bulletin images on the surfaces of the device. By providing the announcement images on multiple surfaces of the device, information can be transmitted in multiple directions and can be provided to a greater extent.
Fig. 7 is a perspective view showing a configuration of the appearance of an ATM3 including three bulletin LCDs as another example of the exemplary embodiment. Fig. 7A is a front perspective view of the ATM3, and fig. 7B is a rear perspective view of the ATM 3. Fig. 8 is a plan view showing a state where the ATM3 of fig. 7 is placed in the shop a. Like components have like reference numerals between the ATM3 and the ATM1 described above.
As shown in fig. 7, the ATM3 includes a user-side LCD 101, a touch sensor panel 104, a card slot 111, a passbook slot 112, and a cash slot 113, as with the aforementioned ATM 1. The ATM3 also includes three bulletin LCDs 303, 304 for displaying bulletin information.
The bulletin LCDs 303, 304 are mounted on the upper part of the apparatus. Each display surface of the bulletin LCDs 303, 303 is oriented in right and left oblique directions with respect to the front side of the apparatus, and the display surface of the bulletin LCD 304 is disposed at the rear side of the apparatus. The bulletin LCDs 303, 304 include the same functions as the bulletin LCDs 102 and 103 of the aforementioned ATM 1. The ATM3 includes the bulletin LCDs 303, 304 in the vertical surface of the device case on a surface other than the front side surface, and thus can transmit information in a wide range except for the front side of the device.
As shown in fig. 8, when the ATM3 is placed beside a window of the shop a, with the front side of the device facing the inside of the shop a and the rear side facing the window. Then, the area from which the display of the notice LCD 303, 303 is recognizable is defined as the range of the information providing area m, and the area from which the display of the notice LCD 304 is recognizable is defined as the range of the information providing area n. If the ATM3 is arranged as above, information can be provided to persons within the information providing area m in the store and also persons in the information providing area n outside the store.
Fig. 9 is a perspective view showing an appearance of an ATM4 including four bulletin LCDs as another exemplary embodiment. FIG. 9A is a front perspective view of ATM4 and FIG. 9B is a rear side view of ATM 4. Fig. 10 is a plan view showing a state where the ATM4 is placed in the retail store a. Like components have like reference numerals between the ATM4 and the ATM1 described above.
As shown in fig. 9, the ATM4 includes a user-side LCD 101, a touch sensor panel 104, a card slot 111, a passbook slot 112, and a cash slot 113, as in the ATM1 described above. The ATM4 further includes four bulletin LCDs for displaying bulletin information, namely, bulletin LCDs 402, 403, 404, 405.
The bulletin LCDs 402, 403, 404, 405 are mounted on the upper part of the device. The display surface of the bulletin LCD 402 is disposed on the front side of the apparatus, the display surface of the bulletin LCD 403 is disposed on the left side of the apparatus, the display surface of the bulletin LCD404 is disposed on the right side of the apparatus, and the display surface of the bulletin LCD405 is disposed on the rear side of the apparatus. The bulletin LCDs 402, 403, 404, 405 include the same functions as the bulletin LCDs 102 and 103 in the aforementioned ATM 1. Using these announcement LCDs 402, 403, 404, 405, the ATM4 can transmit information in multiple directions.
As shown in fig. 10, when the ATM4 is placed in the shop a, an area from which the display of the notice LCD 403 is identifiable is defined as a range of the information providing area r, an area from which the display of the notice LCD405 is identifiable is defined as a range of the information providing area s, an area from which the display of the notice LCD404 is identifiable is defined as a range of the information providing area t, and an area from which the display of the notice LCD 402 is identifiable is defined as a range of the information providing area u. If the ATM4 is arranged as above, information is provided to a person anywhere in the store. In addition, information can also be provided to people in the information providing area t outside the shop. Further, the placement of the ATM4 in the center of the retail store A allows for more robust supervision of the ATM4 and prevents abuse of the ATM 4.
As described above, the ATM as one example of the exemplary embodiment includes the bulletin LCD in addition to the user side LCD, and the bulletin LCD displays an image for bulletin of the off state or the use state of the operation working together with the operation of the ATM. Therefore, even if the user is far from the ATM, he/she can know whether the ATM is available. Further, the ATM according to the exemplary embodiment includes a bulletin LCD on the rear side and/or the side thereof, so that information can also be bulletin to the outside of a shop in which the ATM is installed. Therefore, even if the user does not walk into the shop, he/she can know whether the ATM is available, and the customer driving does not have to get off the vehicle to recognize the operation state of the ATM.
Further, by arranging a plurality of bulletin LCDs, information can be provided in a plurality of directions. The customer in the shop can always see the image from the range of viewing angles of the LCD.
In an exemplary embodiment, an ATM is illustrated as an example. However, the device is not limited to the ATM. The device may be anything, as long as it is an automated transaction device, such as a self-service terminal (SST), Cash Dispenser (CD), etc. If these apparatuses are installed with bulletin LCDs and display bulletin information working together with the acceptance status of the transaction and the condition of the ATM, persons around the apparatuses, especially persons outside the shop in which the apparatuses are installed, can be notified whether the transaction is available.
