Abstract

Description

液晶显示装置
技术领域
本发明涉及一种液晶显示装置。
背景技术
近来，人们开发了各种具有相对较轻重量和较小体积的平板显示器，以克服阴极射线管(CRT)的一些缺点。平板显示器的例子包括液晶显示器(LCD)、场发射显示器(FED)、等离子显示面板(PDP)和有机发光显示器。
由于液晶显示装置相对较小、重量轻，且具有较低的功耗，所以它们已经被作为在适当场合替代CRT的目标了。液晶显示装置已经被用于诸如监视器和电视机之类的相对较大的产品中以及诸如移动电话和个人数字助理(PDA)之类的便携式装置中。
应用于便携式装置的液晶显示装置使用至少一个发光二极管(LED)作为光源，以表现一定亮度的图像。如图1A所示，传统液晶显示装置包括发光二极管基板2和位于该发光二极管基板2上的至少一个壳体4。发光二极管基板2固定地附接在模制框架内，并将来自柔性印刷电路板(FPCB)的控制信号提供给壳体4。壳体4附接并电连接至发光二极管基板2。如图1B所示，壳体4包括固定于其中并用于对应于从壳体4提供来的控制信号产生光的LED 6。传统液晶显示面板中包括发光二极管基板2，所以导致制造成本增加。
发明内容
根据本发明的多个方面，提供了一种液晶显示装置，其可降低制造成本。
在本发明的一示例性实施例中，提供了一种液晶显示装置，其包括：液晶显示面板，用于显示图像，该液晶显示面板包括第一焊盘；导光板，其邻近所述液晶显示面板，用于将供应至该导光板的边缘处的光提供给所述液晶显示面板；和底部机架，其上具有至少一个狭缝，所述导光板位于所述液晶显示面板和所述底部机架的第一侧之间。一柔性印刷电路板位于所述导光板的第二侧处，并包括联接至所述第一焊盘的第二焊盘。至少一个壳体位于所述柔性印刷电路板上，所述至少一个壳体支撑用于向所述导光板提供光的发光二极管，其中所述发光二极管穿过所述至少一个狭缝定位在所述导光板的边缘处。所述壳体包括位于所述发光二极管的相对侧的第一部分和第二部分，所述第一和第二部分具有彼此不同的厚度，并且其中所述第一部分邻近所述柔性印刷电路板。
在一个示例性实施例中，所述壳体的第一部分的厚度大于所述壳体的第二部分的厚度。所述壳体的所述第二部分的厚度与所述第一部分的厚度设置成将所述发光二极管定位在所述导光板的边缘的厚度方向上的大致中心处。此外，所述导光板可以不与所述至少一个狭缝交叠。
在一个示例性实施例中，所述柔性印刷电路板上具有至少两个壳体，每个壳体被插入穿过所述至少一个狭缝中的单独的一个狭缝。在另一示例性实施例中，所述至少两个壳体被插入穿过单个狭缝。
在本发明的另一示例性实施例中，提供了一种用于上述液晶显示装置的发光二极管壳体所述发光二极管壳体包括：用于容纳发光二极管的凹槽；位于所述凹槽的第一侧并具有第一厚度的上部；和位于所述凹槽的相对的第二侧并具有第二厚度的下部，其中所述第二厚度不同于所述第一厚度，并且所述壳体可附接至所述柔性印刷电路板。

在以下详细说明中，仅以举例方式示出和描述本发明的某些示例性实施例。这里，如果第一元件被描述为连接至一第二元件，则该第一元件可以是直接连接至第二元件，或者可以经由第三元件间接连接至第二元件。此外，为了清楚起见，省略了对完整理解本发明并不是必需的一些元件。本领域技术人员可以理解，本发明可以以很多不同形式来实现，而不应视为被限制于这里所描述的实施例。整个说明书中，相同的标号表示相同的元件。
图2是根据本发明第一示例性实施例的液晶显示装置的透视图。
参照图2，根据本发明第一示例性实施例的液晶显示装置160包括液晶显示面板104、背光组件150和底部机架(或底座(bezel))122。液晶显示面板104显示图像，其包括第一基板104a、第二基板104b和注入在第一基板104a和第二基板104b之间的液晶。
第二基板104b包括布置成矩阵的多个薄膜晶体管(TFT)。TFT的源电极与数据线联接，TFT的栅电极与扫描线联接。TFT的漏电极与由透明导电材料构成的像素电极联接。当扫描信号提供给扫描线时，TFT被接通以便将供应至数据线的数据信号提供给像素电极。
集成电路106位于第二基板104b的一侧上，并提供数据信号和扫描信号，并且集成电路106的周边覆盖有钝化层108。第一焊盘(pad)105位于第二基板104b的一端处。第一焊盘105接收来自外部设备的驱动信号(例如预定的驱动信号)，并将该驱动信号提供给集成电路106。
第一基板104a面对第二基板104b。第一基板104a的整个表面覆盖有由透明材料构成的公共电极。当适合的电压(例如预定电压)施加在公共电极上时，在公共电极和像素电极之间形成电场。该电场改变第一基板104a和第二基板104b之间的液晶的取向角度。光学透射率根据改变了的液晶取向角度而改变，以显示期望的图像。
背光组件150包括模制框架116、导光板118、反射板120和光学片110。导光板118将来自LED的光提供给液晶显示面板104。这里，LED位于导光板118的一侧(例如一个边缘)。从而，导光板118将由LED提供至其一侧的光引向液晶显示面板104。
反射板120位于导光板118的后表面处，并将入射光反射回导光板118，从而提高光效率。光学片110提高从导光板118供应至液晶显示面板104的光的亮度。模制框架116固定并支撑背光组件150和液晶显示面板104。模制框架116具有足够的强度(例如，预定强度)以保护背光组件150和液晶显示面板104免受外部冲击或震动。
底部机架122可以由铝制成，并被固定以包围模制框架116。底部机架122为液晶显示装置160提供足够的强度(例如，预定强度)，以防止或减小可能的变形。
至少一个狭缝(或狭缝开口)130位于底部机架122的底面(即平行于导光板118的表面)的一端上。包括LED的一定位器插入狭缝130中，并且因此，在一个示例性实施例中，导光板118不与狭缝130交叠。
图3是根据本发明一实施例的柔性印刷电路板(FPCB)的示图。
参照图3，在本发明的一个示例性实施例中，第二焊盘202和电路部件位于柔性印刷电路板(FPCB)200上。第二焊盘202与第一焊盘105电联接，以向第一焊盘105提供驱动信号(例如，预定驱动信号)。具体而言，FPCB200上的电路部件产生待提供给第二焊盘202和壳体204的驱动信号。
容纳发光二极管的至少一个壳体204位于FPCB 200上。壳体204电联接至FPCB 200，用于接收从FPCB 200向壳体204内部的LED提供的驱动信号。在一个示例性实施例中，壳体204的一侧是开放的，以允许LED产生的光传输至导光板118。
图4A和4B是根据本发明的位于液晶显示装置和柔性印刷电路板之间的联接件的横截面图。图5是图4A和4B所示固定部分的详图。
参照图4A和4B，第一焊盘105和第二焊盘202电联接在一起。FPCB 200以一角度(例如，预定角度)弯曲并附接至底部机架122的后表面，且构造成使得壳体204插入狭缝130(或穿过狭缝)。这样，LED 206邻近导光板118的一个边缘定位。因此，发光二极管206产生的光可以稳定地提供给导光板118。
如图5所示，壳体204下部的厚度h1不同于其上部的厚度h2。例如，壳体204的与FPCB 200接触的下部的厚度h1构造成使得LED 206邻近导光板118的边缘定位。在一个示例性实施例中，考虑到底部机架122，并且为了将LED 204大致定位在导光板118的边缘的中心处，壳体204下部的厚度h1比壳体204上部的厚度h2大。
底部机架122的厚度构造成为液晶显示装置160提供相对较高的强度。当壳体204中下部的厚度h1和上部的厚度h2相同时，发光二极管206可能没有定位于导光板118的边缘中心处，从而降低了光的效率。因此，壳体204的下部的厚度h1构造成使得发光二极管206定位在导光板118的边缘的大致中心处，以提高光效率。换句话说，根据本发明的一些方面，壳体204构造成使得壳体204的下部比壳体204的上部更厚。
如前描述，在本发明中，由于固定部分204直接附接至FPCB 200，所以与传统液晶显示装置相比，可以降低制造成本。另外，在本发明中，因为固定部分204下部的厚度h1设置成比其上部的厚度h2更大，所以发光二极管206可以定位在导光板118的中心侧处。
图6是根据本发明第二示例性实施例的液晶显示装置的透视图。图6中与图2所示相对应的部分用相同的符号标示，并在此省略对它们的描述。
参照图6，根据本发明第二示例性实施例的液晶显示装置还包括顶部机架170。顶部机架170固定至模制框架116，并为液晶显示装置160’提供额外的强度。此外，单个狭缝131位于底部机架123处。狭缝131的长度允许FPCB 200上的壳体204能插入到狭缝131中。
如前所述，由于壳体204直接附接至FPCB 200，所以与传统的结合有发光二极管基板的液晶显示装置相比，可以降低制造成本。另外，因为壳体204的下部的厚度h1比其上部的厚度h2大，所以发光二极管206可以定位在导光板118的边缘的大致中心处。
尽管已经结合某些实施例对本发明进行了描述，但是应该理解，本发明并不限于所描述的实施例，相反，本发明意图覆盖落入所附权利要求及其等同技术方案的精神和范围内的各种变型和等同设置。

Claims (13)

1.一种液晶显示装置，包括：
液晶显示面板，用于显示图像，该液晶显示面板包括第一焊盘；
导光板，邻近所述液晶显示面板，用于将供应至该导光板的边缘处的光提供给所述液晶显示面板；
底部机架，其上具有至少一个狭缝，所述导光板位于所述液晶显示面板和所述底部机架的第一侧之间；
柔性印刷电路板，位于所述导光板的第二侧处，并包括联接至所述第一焊盘的第二焊盘；
至少一个壳体，位于所述柔性印刷电路板上，所述至少一个壳体支撑用于向所述导光板提供光的发光二极管，其中所述发光二极管穿过所述至少一个狭缝定位在所述导光板的边缘处；并且
其中所述壳体包括位于所述发光二极管的相对侧的第一部分和第二部分，所述第一和第二部分具有彼此不同的厚度，并且其中所述第一部分邻近所述柔性印刷电路板。
2.如权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置，其中，所述壳体的第一部分的厚度大于所述壳体的第二部分的厚度。
3.如权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置，其中，所述壳体的所述第二部分的厚度与所述第一部分的厚度设置成将所述发光二极管定位在所述导光板的边缘的厚度方向上的大致中心处。
4.如权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置，其中，所述导光板不与所述至少一个狭缝交叠。
5.如权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置，其中，所述柔性印刷电路板上具有至少两个壳体，每个壳体穿过至少两个狭缝中的单独的一个狭缝被插入。
6.如权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置，其中，所述柔性印刷电路板上具有至少两个壳体，其中所述至少两个壳体穿过单个狭缝被插入。
7.如权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置，其中，还包括：
位于所述底部机架和所述导光板之间的反射板；
位于所述导光板和所述液晶显示面板之间的光学片；和
模制框架，用于固定所述导光板、反射板和光学片。
8.如权利要求7所述的液晶显示装置，其中，还包括位于所述液晶显示面板上并联接至所述模制框架的顶部机架。
9.如权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置，其中，所述至少一个壳体直接附接至所述柔性印刷电路板。
10.一种用于液晶显示装置的发光二极管壳体，该液晶显示装置包括：用于显示图像并包括第一焊盘的液晶显示面板；邻近所述液晶显示面板的导光板，用于将供应至导光板的边缘的光提供给所述液晶显示面板；其上具有至少一个狭缝的底部机架，所述导光板位于所述液晶显示面板和所述底部机架的第一侧之间；位于所述导光板的第二侧的柔性印刷电路板，包括联接至所述第一焊盘的第二焊盘，所述发光二极管壳体包括：
